Reviews for Hotel Garden
Review 1:here
Review 2:The hotel is very close to the train station and bus stop and a few minutes away from the centre. The staff are very polite and gentle and always ready to help you. For those who smoke there are rooms with terraces overlooking the street. Breakfast was not extraordinary but quite sufficient
Review 3:Beds were extremely uncomfortable, including pillows. Hotel was very noisy, the walls must be quite thin as you can here everything from other rooms.
Review 4:Staff were friendly, location was really good, next to train station. Rooms were always clean Good value for money
Review 5:mosquitos in room in October. Neither we or staff had anything to get rid of them No maps in hotel
Review 6:excellent location. friendly staff. Great terrace
Review 7:Room WIFI - not good
Review 8:Loved the location, right next to the train station which was very convenient for us, friendly and helpful staff, clean, decent room.
Review 9:wifi is very weak. the room is small for a family of four (2 kids)
Review 10:location is perfect, just right next door to the train station. hotel is clean. breakfast is ok.
Review 11:nothing.
Review 12:The staff is amazing- everything that we needed they helped us quickly and they were so nice! the wifi is pretty good the location the price the decoration of the hotel
Review 13:On making the booking I doscovered afterwards that I had been chargedthe whole price in advance, unlike previous bookings made withbooking.con where there was a stepped charge facility for cancellation.
Review 14:Away from busiest spots
Review 15:Breakfast was average Slightly expensive for a three star for a 1 night
Review 16:Spacious and clean rooms Friendly staff and service Free wifi Great location and easy access to station Staff allowed luggage deposit even after checkout and before checkin time
Review 17:Not much that we didn't like. Our only complaint was the fact that there was no fridge in the room - it would have been useful for keeping our drinks cool in the extreme heat at the time we were there, but that is only a minor issue. on the whole, it was great!
Review 18:A great place to stay for access to all the attractions. Straight across the road from the railway station, buses to everywhere also stopped just across from the hotel, a short walk into the town - it ticked all the right boxes for us. Our room was large and very comfortable, with good air conditioning, the buffet style breakfast was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. You could also get a beautiful evening meal on the premises if you didn't feel like going out, at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!!!!!
Review 19:Hotel uses Sale e Pepe Restaurant for breakfast which is next door to hotel. This restaurant is a rip off. On our first day at hotel we went to dine at this restaurant and notwithstanding that we were hotel guests they charged us an extra €1.50 per person (incl. Our kids) for table service. Other restaurants in the area charge only €1 per person who is dining. When we went to enquire with the hotel receptionist, he told us to ask the restaurant why did they charge us! Hotel room was without a frigobar but they offered us to put some things we had in a refrigerator.
Review 20:Location of hotel is excellent if you intend to travel using trains.
Review 21:The staff were so helpful and friendly, really could not fault them! They made us feel at home and spoke good English despite this being an Italian hotel. Location is great for travelling, very close to the railway station so can easily visit Verona, Milan and Venice. Even though it was so close to the railway I have to say I didn't hear any trains at night, which was ideal! Breakfast was good and the hotel was very clean and pleasant.
Review 22:Room was large and very clean. Extremely close to train station and bus stop. Lovely little restaraunt right next door. Staff were very friendly and the price of our stay was very affordable.
Review 23:The wifi signal in the room was too weak to navigate comfortably. We had some noisy neighbours but Garda Land is only a short bus ride away!
Review 24:Exit the train station, cross the road & you're at your hotel. A pleasant 1km stroll and you're in the centre of the old town. The bus stop in the direction of Verona or Sirmione is but a short walk away. Sale e Pepe offers good pizza at an honest price. The breakfast selection was good. The hotel staff was friendly and most helpful.
Review 25:We really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Everything was wonderfull. The only (minor) thing to improve - pillows, they are not comfortable and thin. Breakfast was sufficient, but eggs may improve it :-). The stuff is exellent, very polite and helpful. Thank you very much, you made our travel to your wonderful country more pleasant and exiting.
Review 26:the WiFi is too poor to connect . the bathroom so small
Review 27:the position is very good ,just 1 minute far from the train station and the shuttle bus station. our room on the 1 floor ,and there is a little garden with table and chairs
Review 28:I liked everything but I would have liked the possibility to make myself a hot drink in my room.
Review 29:The location is excellent and convenient for onward travel; close to train station is a bonus. Staff were very helpful. Room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast menu was excellent. Very impressed with provision of a gluten-free choice.
Review 30:The personal was great, very clean room,AC,a lot o free usefull things for the clients in the bathroom reported to all theyr needs, not only soap and shampoon, elevator, very silent in the night to sleep well.breakfast was good, the location is great a few meters from the train station and the bus station for gardaland park.I have't use wifi so I can't tell anything about it.I sincerly recomand this hotel and if we'll come back to Gardaland for a new visit next year we'll certainly reserve here again.
Review 31:The beds are a little narrow.
Review 32:Right next to the railway station and the bus stop opposite. So convenient for everywhere. Clean and comfortable, a decent breakfast. Pleasant staff.
Review 33:In my single bed -room the bed was situated right below air ventilation and the noise woke me up quite a lot - then again I sometimes have trouble sleeping during the night in any case. I was also disappointed for my breakfast table, which was located in the farthest corner in the room away from all the windows.
Review 34:I spent one night at the hotel as I was traveling via public transportation to my holiday destination. Welcome was warm, and I got plenty of help with tomorrow's bus-trip to northern Garda. The hotel was right across from train station which was the savior of my evening, and within walking distance from the old town I checked out the same night. Even though it was close to the railway, unless I had the balcony open I couldn't hear the trains from my room.
Review 35:The room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke coming out of AC unit !!! It wasn't very pleasant, considering it was a Non Smoking Room. did ask for another room but we were told, it was not possible.
Review 36:This is a good hotel. good value for money. quite central.
Review 37:Quite a walk into the old town and Lake Garda boats - but you can't have it both ways!
Review 38:Good location if you're travelling by train. Breakfast good in hotel cafe. Room comfortable but bathroom a bit cramped.
Review 39:Minor thing, but the decor was very dated.
Review 40:Excellent location next to train station and free bus to Gardaland just over the road, but not far to walk into the town/ lakeside. Best breakfast of our holiday (but I do have a very sweet tooth). Clean comfortable room and helpful staff.
Review 41:Nothing!
Review 42:nearness to the train station and all buses. The friendliness of staff at reception who spoke perfect English and were most helpful at all times. The balcony outside our room, which was very spacious and from where we watched all the activity of people coming and going all day to Gardaland and other areas. The lovely foyer and veranda.
Review 43:Breakfast somewhat limited.
Review 44:Two steps away from the railway station and a bus stop with connections to the airport, Verona, Gardaland and other places/cities around lake Garda. Yet a quiet place. My room had a nice balcony. Overall, better than you would expect from a hotel at a train station.
Review 45:Breakfast somewhat limited
Review 46:The breakfast was typically Italian (mostly cakes). It would have been nice with a little wider selection for those who don't like sweets for breakfast.
Review 47:The location, right next to the railway station was superb, and allowed us to access other places quite easy. The free bus to Gardaland also had a stop across the street from the hotel. The staff was very charming and helpful. Big rooms with access to private balcony. We also appreciated the possibility to park the car in a garage in the heat. Not too far from the beach and the city centre of Peschiera del Garda
Review 48:wifi is not that strong and the bed are kinda small.
Review 49:Staff are extremely helpful and very decent. location is good, just a few steps to the train station. room are very clean and good size. The terrace having an amazing view.price is so good. i like it so much, sure i will come back again. totally recomande for everyone.
Review 50:Very close to the station and staff were very friendly. It was perfect for our visit to Gardaland and the town itself is only a 10 minute walk away.
Review 51:Breakfast is simple. Restaurants could be a bit far away.
Review 52:Everything
Review 53:Kind and helpful staff
Review 54:WiFi was a struggle and dropped out for extended periods.
Review 55:Helpful staff and very convenient location. Very clean and well run hotel.
Review 56:Location+transport to Gardaland Park
Review 57:Convenient location, especially for transport links and helpful staff.
Review 58:Breakfast standard.
Review 59:Clean, helpful staff and convenient for Station and Gardaland bus.
Review 60:the location just opposite the train station...excellent when travelling.........super staff and very helpful....very very clean hotel
Review 61:Breakfast spread is good. Good location.
Review 62:the location was excellent.
Review 63:Very poor breakfast and unconfortable bed!
Review 64:Old building just in minutes from railway station
Review 65:Old bedding
Review 66:Friendly receptionist
Review 67:Excellent location: just near the train station and a highway. Very nice staff, comfortable room.
Review 68:Bedding
Review 69:Value for money
Review 70:Nothing
Review 71:Location Good size bedroom with air conditioning Value for money
Review 72:Very nice place.
Review 73:Conveniently close to train station & bus stop ...but quiet. Clean & comfortable...helpful staff. Good breakfast. Good base for a day or so.
Review 74:No fridge inside room
Review 75:Staff was very friendly and room comfort
Review 76:No healthy choices for breakfast other than fresh fruits.
Review 77:Room size is good for a hotel in Europe.
Review 78:breakfast
Review 79:Everything was perfect friendly and help full stuff location sure I will book this hotel when I plan to visit garda in future
Review 80:Breakfast was satisfying Staff very helpful Room always clean Big Terrace
Review 81:Noisy AC
Review 82:The staff were excellent
Review 83:Staff friendly and helpful, arrived during a storm and powercut! Nice restaurant and breakfast. Off road parking.
Review 84:Very close to center of the old city. Staff is very helpfull and pleasent.
Review 85:No fridge
Review 86:Terrace
Review 87:Breakfast starts at 7.30
Review 88:It's near the train station.
Review 89:Room was hot in the night. The air condition seemed not easy to bring temperature down.
Review 90:Conveniently situated ~100 meters away from the train station. 5 min walk to the bus stops of Line 26 to Sirmione and Line 162 to Malcesine. About 15 min walk to the habor.
Review 91:Breakfast was poor.
Review 92:Location was perfect for our purposes. We stayed to visit Gardaland, and the free bus stop is 30 seconds away. It is also a 2 min walk from the train station, and a 15 min walk to the city center - very convenient for a short stay.
Review 93:One of those places with square toilet seats - never met anyone yet with a square bum.
Review 94:Ideal location if you arrive by train, right outside but train noise not intrusive. Only about 300m from the lake. Breakfast not memorable but satisfactory
Review 95:Warning to Italians staying here: you have to pay for an espresso or cappuccino.
Review 96:Location close to the lake and to the train station, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good if compared to the average italian hotel, but no choice with cheese and ham. The room also had a balcony, which was perfect for our dog to get some fresh air.
Review 97:Bit of a walk to eateries and lake (but we are old ladies he... he..) There was nothing really to complain about.
Review 98:location to train station very close but it was not noisy at all. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast fantastic help yourself as much as you want.
Review 99:Did not had any Wifi Reception from the room. Breakfast could have been a little better in selection of ham etc.
Review 100:Staff very friendful, hotel always clean.
Review 101:The small shower/wc space in my en- suite single room.
Review 102:The location is very convenient as it's just 30 metres from the train station and local bus stop. For those relying on public transport this gives easy access to travelling all around Lake Garda's many towns or a day trip to Verona by bus or train. The choice at breakfast is excellent and you can enjoy a budget lunch or evening meal with a good beer in the popular cafe attached to Reception. All the staff I found to be very helpful in questions I asked about the town, Lake or transport any visitor may reasonably ask a local person.
Review 103:There is some noise from the railway and the street, It was annoying at first but after a while the train whistles were welcome.
Review 104:A pleasant hotel, not one of the chains. Staff were friendly and competent. Breakfast was good and sufficient.
Review 105:Nothing. It was excellent.
Review 106:Staff were very helpful. Room spacious. We had a triple. Fantastic location right next to the train station and a 15 minute walk to city centre. Several restaurants and bars along the way to town centre. Very pleasant walk to centre where there's many eateries shops and a Monday market. The boat trips to other lake towns leaves from the town centre also. Breakfast was in the cafe next door with very friendly staff.
Review 107:It is a family hotel so that may be bad for others. It is difficult to get to sleep while kids (being kids) run wild in the room above without any regard for the peace of other guests. But wait there is more. Rowdy guests who had booked more than one room on the floor where we were, spent several hours yelling down the corridor and slamming doors. All this is amplified through the paper thin door. Double glazing might keep the road noise out but the hotel needs to do more about dulling the noise from within.
Review 108:For those travelling by train, the best thing about Hotel Garden is its location - right opposite the railway station. The double glazing and closed shutters keeps the street noise out. It is a family hotel so that may be good for some as the Gagaland free bus picks up across the road. The restaurant downstairs makes great pizzas.
Review 109:The restaurant menu is limited if staying there for more than a couple of days. (the menu did not change during the 4 days we stayed there).
Review 110:Hotel Garden is a comfortable place to stay and has a homely feel to it. The rooms are nice size with air conditioning and cleaned daily. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The receptionists in particular were really helpful to us. Location of the hotel is prefect as it is very close to the main train/bus station. The buses for Gardaland and the other parks stopped almost opposite the hotel. I would definitely stay again.
Review 111:- poor wi-fi service
Review 112:- very good breakfast and service - friendly and helpful staff - clean and tidy rooms, with big bathroom - close to the lake and city centre
Review 113:The staff were all very friendly. The location was perfect, with the train and bus station situated across the street - with several train and bus connections to major cities, airports, shopping centres, around lake Garda including theme parks. Free wi-fi 24 hours a day, packed lunch when we had to leave the hotel early in the morning, air conditioned and very clean room.
Review 114:The only thing we didn't like was that there wasn't mini bar in the room
Review 115:Location was perfect, very easy to acces everywhere, free bus for the parks right outside of the hotel. Staff was excellent and the room was very comfortable
Review 116:The staff was really helpful and friendly. They helped me a lot with all my requests and gave me the timetables for the buses and the ferries that were really helpful. The hotel is located in front of the train station (that is also the bus stop) so it is very convenient if you have a lot of luggage. The hotel was very clean and confortable. The breakfast was ok. I really recommend this hotel!
Review 117:It was our second stay in this hotel and the standard was even higher than previously. Excellent room and breakfast. One of us had a birthday and enjoyed a splendid dinner in their restaurant. Extremely convenient for railway station opposite and buses around Lake Garda. We will return again.
Review 118:Because of the location the room was too noisy and the breakfast could have been more diversed.
Review 119:The staff was extremely friendly and hospitable, location is really good - 10 sec from the train/bus station and 5-10 minutes from the old town.
Review 120:This may sound a bit fussy and may not affect other travellers: Although the restaurant is connected to the hotel, has a walk through from reception, and is where you have breakfast; it is a "separate" business so other meals, drinks etc can't be put on your room account
Review 121:The rooms were fairly spacious, clean and thoroughly serviced throughout our five night stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming and spoke very good English, they also appreciated attempts to engage in (our poor) Italian. Breakfast is a cold buffet with plenty of choice to suit most tastes and it was replenished quickly when the different parts were emptied. The location across the road from the station (about 20 strides) suited us very well as we arrived by rail. The adjoining restaurant (where you have breakfast ) serves good pizza and pasta and is reasonably priced (food served from 19:00 to 22:00 - bar open all day). The lake and the town center are both approx a 10 -15 minute walk away and there are plenty more restaurants, cafes and gelateria within easy reach by foot.
Review 122:The room was clean but had a very mouldy smell. The breakfast coffee isfrom a machine and given that the hotel has a bar in the same place itwould be much nicer to offer 'real' coffee. It makes a bigdifference in the morning!
Review 123:Location was great for getting on a train and arriving in Verona centerin 15 minutes. Breakfast selection was more than adequate.
Review 124:Everything, they were really helpful nothing was too much trouble. Lovely breakfast and the room was large. Very convenient position for travel round the lake by bus and the railway station to other parts of Italy.
Review 125:What we liked primarily is the close proximity to the train station. After travelling all day the least thing thing one would desire is to walk distances to the hotel. The buses and trains literally drop you off on the hotel's door step. In spite of the close proximity to the train station we had no problems to sleep at night. The rooms were spacious and the management accommodated us in a way that we felt like we had a small apartment and not two separate rooms. It was bliss as two young children can be a handful at times. Rooms were tidied up daily even on NY day! Tidy and comfortable. The staff especially the front office were of infinite help and at times they even anticipated our requests. They even suggested to prepare our breakfast as take out given that we had to depart very early in the morning. They helped out with bus stops and time tables how to get to Monte Baldo, Parco Natura Viva and up to Lake Como. Breakfast is continental breakfast. The bread rolls cheese and hams (devine) were replenished instantly and were always fresh. Cereals and juices were always present no matter what time one decides to have breakfast. The pastries were exceptionally tasty especially the nutella pie and the apple cake.
