Reviews for Il Palmento Relais

Review 1:Hot water was sporadic, AC very weak, beds are hard. Road noise is very high. Terrible for light sleepers. No double-glazing. Avoid if you don't sleep like the dead.

Review 2:Really nice staff although it was sometimes difficult to communicate not being an Italian speaker. Really spacious room. Free parking for those that rented a car. No noisy guests here. Clean clean clean.

Review 3:Very friendly and helpful staff, free parking within property grounds and availability for free parking in Sorrento town. Nice large room and good breakfast with fresh fruit and fresh cakes.

Review 4:1. The aircondition takes long time to coolup the room. Maybe because we had the room on the top floor. Btw, it has lots of stairs to get to it... 2. Shower stream was slow, again, might be related to the top floor.

Review 5:We liked the location outside sorrento, peaceful and quiet. The stuff were super friendly and helpful in her recommendations and kindness. The breakfast is continental++, they offer a superb croassont and some nice cakes alongside a good italian coffee. In addition and the most important: this place had a parking lot, and it also has an agreement with a gas station in sorrento to allow people parking there during the day, so we were not troubled by parking issue in the city.

Review 6:Everything was great!

Review 7:The facilities were beautiful and very clean. The property is very nice and located close to the center. (My boyfriend and I rented a moped for our stay and if it's possible that you can as well, I highly recommend it over a car. Not only is it fun but you can weasel through traffic.) The owner is extremely nice & helpful. Any question you have regarding the town or travel to nearby towns, she has an answer for and gave us the best advice. The room was very clean and very new looking. Breakfast was mostly sweets but there's a small variety of meat &a cheese to balance that. Cappuccinos were great and service is prompt. For this price I would definitely stay again seeing as it resides in Sorrento.

Review 8:Very noisy due to the traffic in the street

Review 9:Very beautiful and spacious room. The hosts are very friendly and helpfunctie and the breakfast is perfect!

Review 10:The location is a bit challenging, as driving in Sorrento is chaotic ant the hotel is away from the center.

Review 11:The apartment was pretty with attention to every detail including mosquito screens. Staff was nice and helpful, good breakfast. Great cheap pizzeria across the street.

Review 12:The room was very basic, no kettle, no relaxing chairs and the biggest disappointment was no balcony, we as two other couples thought that we would have a balcony with sun loungers, not so, our balcony was just wide enough to stand on, but the exhaust fumes and noise from the constant traffic just metres away from our bedroom balcony was unbearable. The shower was a joke, there was plenty of room in the bathroom to install a larger one. You can hear everything that goes on in other rooms either at the side or above you. The television is so small that if you try and watch it whilst sitting on the bed you cannot read any of the headlines on the news. The stairs leading upto the rooms could be a challenge for anyone a little unsteady on their feet. The breakfast was very basic and the same every day, no prepared fresh fruit. The property is on one of the main feeder roads to the Amalfi coast road, so there is a constant stream of coaches, taxis continually tooting their horns and scooters. If you want to walk anywhere it is arduous and not at all pleasant. We really do feel that the photos misrepresent what is actually on offer.

Review 13:The secure large parking. The family that own the place are very pleasant.

Review 14:Beautiful room with terrasse and great views to the Sorrento Bay. Very convenient location to visit Amalfi Coast. Personnel very kind and helpful. Excellent breakfast & restaurant with delicatessen menu for dinner! Who gives more?

Review 15:No complaints. :)

Review 16:Emelia and her mom were very gracious hosts and made us feel welcome. Room was very nice, good size, clean, quiet. Breakfast was good. We loved our time in Sorrento and would highly recommend Il Palmento Relais.

Review 17:The constant traffic right outside the window, the fumes if you tried tosit outside, the fact that we and 3 lots of other guests expected abalcony to be able to relax on, no comfortable seats in the room, onlyone hard chair supplied, only one pillow each supplied, shower wasalmost unusable, it was so small, no kettle, very small tv. Breakfastvery limited, no fresh bread rolls or prepared fruit. Not a nice walkinto town, due to constant volume of traffic and very narrow footpath.Restaurant was very expensive, we paid 60 Euros for 2 Seabass, they wereok, asked for vegetables and some sliced courgettes and auberginesarrived grilled and cold, Chef seemed more interested in Italiancustomers than us. Overall extremely disappointed with position, roomand facilities. After being told by the lady owner that they have alotof English guests we suggest they take note of their comments and maybeput kettles in rooms, comfortable seating and a suitable breakfast.

Review 18:The parking

Review 19:Given that the apartment is located 2km's away from the city centre you have to grap a bus to get there and back. Even though there is a timetable buses never keep it and running always with significant delay. But this is an offline issue you face but worth mentioning. Sometimes I found the room a bit loud by typical street noise.

Review 20:The whole staff is very nice and guest focused. Helped us a lot to organize trips or finding the best beach in Sorrento. Room was very clean and beautiful. We enjoyed every minute we spent there. The apartment is outstanding in the category I guess. Breakfast was rich and delicious which was a great start every morning. I have to also highlight the great job what was done in the restaurant. We enjoyed 1 dinner there and that was remarkable. Not only the quality of the food and wine but the way of presentation&serving. Strongly recommended! Thanks Emilia&Luigi and the entire staff!

Review 21:Staying in naples for 3 days and not here:):):)

Review 22:This is a very nice, cozy, hotel staffed by some incredibly nice people..from the owner Emilia to the head chef Luigi, to Lazaro, to Emilia's uncle...the whole family...they made us feel like family....had a very nice experience..we loved our stay here...highly recommend. ..

Review 23:The relais was located in a small town just outside of Sorrento called Piano di Sorrento. Since we didn't have a car, we had to use the local bus service to get anywhere and it wasn't always reliable or on time. However, for those with their own transportation this wouldn't be a problem.

Review 24:Very friendly and accomodating staff running the relais. The breakfast each morning was laid out beautifully in their on-site restaurant. The rooms seemed like they were recently updated and they were always impeccably clean. I would definitely come back to Il palmento again on my next trip to the Sorrento area.

Review 25:The rooms were decorated simple and very clean. Very comfortable beds, and very spacious...we even had our own private terrace which we loved! We also loved the special attention the staff gives to their guests. I would HIGHLY recommend this property.

Review 26:The only downside is that it is not located in the centre of Sorrento. There is a bus that takes you to the centre of Sorrento but it passes every 20-30 minutes.

Review 27:We had a very nice 4-day stay at Il Palmento Relais at the end of June 2014. Rooms were decorated in a modern simple style and were cozy. Bath shower was tiny though. Emlia is really a great and very attentive host. She responded quickly to all our emails, arranged our tour trip to the Amalfi Coast with Giuseppe, and attended to all our requests and needs. The restaurant served excellent and fresh Italian food. We particularly enjoyed the fresh fish of the day. Luigi (the chef) even offered to drive us down to the port in Sorrento to take the ferry to Capri. We would definitely recommend Il Palmento Relais to our friends and family.

Review 28:Our room (the blue room) had a wonderful terrace to enjoy the sunsets each evening. Breakfast was very good and our host was so helpful!

Review 29:it was nice to have a coffee making kit in the room

Review 30:evrything,the room was better then it appeared in the photos !!!

Review 31:Friendly helpful staff. Front desk gave advice about transport and tours and allowed us to check in early. Very clean apartment.

Review 43:everything was good

Review 44:excellent food, staff very helpful and friendly. would highly recommend a stay at this fantastic hotel ..very good value.

Review 45:Location compared to Sorrento. Transport ok except for late at night returning to hotel. Buses are scarce.

Review 46:Hotel fantastic

Review 47:The staff were very accommodating and lovely to speak to. The best part about the hotel was the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the desserts were among the most beautiful and delicious I have ever come across. This place is a hidden gem.

Review 48:The hotel is on a busy road which can be loud. But keep the windows closed and the rooms will be completely sound proof.

Review 49:This wonderful family run establishment was an absolute pleasure to stay at. Amelia, who manages it, is exceptionally warm and friendly. The hotel, a recently renovated ancient winery, is full of character and has all the the modern amenities one expects in far more expensive properties. The contemporary design and lighting around the hotel is a highly welcome change from the usual B&Bs/Hotels in Italy. An afternoon spent in the garden with the lemon trees is a must!

Review 50:Double Room to small, and with a lot of stairs to reach the room due to missing of lift. They have to provided a porter.

Review 51:Good location to visit the Sorrento, Amalfi Cost, Naples and Pompeii.

Review 52:The shower cubical was a bit small could be bigger for comfort.

Review 53:The place is very contemporary, new with very good quality bed. It has all you need e.g free parking, Wi - fi. Reading lamps. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Review 54:traffic noise at night
