Reviews for Hotel Visagi

Review 1:I would not recommend to my worst enemy. The basic requirements of a hotel are being able to sleep then being able to shower in the morning,we could do neither.the wall between reception and our room was so thin we could hear everything in the reception as if we were in the same room. When we got up in the morning there was no hot water the reception guy said we have to wait for the technical team but don't know how long he will be when I said we can't wait and we needed to go he just laughed and said why are you complaining then pointed to a couple in the breakfast area and said they have been here 10 days without a problem at which point the guy got up from his breakfast, came over to reception and said he had been there 3 days and had reported every day that his shower did not work it was like a scene from Fawlty Towers !! The owner arrived refused to refund us and gave us a pathetic 30 euro discount saying we had had a bed and that was worth that money without a shower ! Really appalling service not helped by all the sneering from reception staff while we ate our breakfast. There are much closer hotels to Pompeii. I would never use this hotel again.

Review 2:Absolutely nothing.

Review 3:Would have been nice to be able to get an evening meal in hotel restaurants etc were about 15-20 min walk . After long days sometimes didn't really want to venture out again but no big problem.

Review 4:Excellent staff, very clean and well located

Review 5:Location was quite a walk from the Scavi station. Only 15 mins from town centre though.

Review 6:Friendly staff, clean and stylish rooms. Good facilities for 3*.

Review 7:Had to wait for ice.Breakfast could have been better.

Review 8:Very Good central location for us. Very good air conditioning. Great staff. Underground parking. For the money it was great.

Review 9:WiFi in room 206 didn't work Also room 206 had an odd smell (drains?) and the air con didn't work We had two rooms, 103 and 206, 103 was great and we had no problems with that room - just 206 a problem

Review 10:Staff were excellent, so helpful and accommodating. The location was great, short walk to town and Pompei sights.

Review 11:Room was modern and neat. Superfriendly staff. Hotel is located near the old Pompeii center, yet close to main roads. Free parking in the garage below the hotel.

Review 12:We booked this hotel because it said double or twin rooms and as we are 4 friends we especially booked twin rooms but were given 2 double rooms so if this is important to you make sure the hotel confirms twin beds!

Review 13:Nice rooms great breakfast

Review 14:Not related to the hotel but as a first time visitor to Pompeii I think you do need a car or a good relationship with a taxi driver while you are there.

Review 15:Clean, good decor, great staff,. We really enjoyed our long weekend staying at hotel visagi. We booked 2 rooms for the family and we could. It ask for a better hotel.

Review 16:Bit of a walk to the ruins, only 25 mins or so but didn't mind that.

Review 17:Under ground car park was great. Hotel looked traditional from outside but must have just had a refit as the interior was modern and clean. Bedroom was spotless with large shower and ac worked a treat.

Review 18:Only downside is that it is a bit of a walk to get into downtown Pompeii. Probably a little over a mile. It wasn't bad for us since we are both younger and don't mind walking at all.

Review 19:The hotel was very clean, modern, and was very comfortable. The staff speaks some English to at least get you in the right direction. And breakfast was very nice. They have their own bar with breakfast where you can order whatever type of coffee you want in the morning, all free with stay.

Review 20:Confusion over road name meant gps could not find the hotel, however a friendly man in a petrol station helped us out.

Review 21:Contemporary design lovely decor 1km away from Pompeii ruins. Good price for B and B and underground car park. Huge bed and room. Great value

Review 22:Hotel was great. Lovely breakfast, slept very well each of the four nights we stayed, exceptionally helpful and efficient staff. Circumvesiam was a fifteen minute walk as were restaurants but this was ok and not too difficult. Liked the quite location as everywhere else was busy.

Review 23:no tea at breakfast or in room could get blocked in the garage if someone parks behind you and doesn't use their car if everyone goes to breakfast at the same time, there isn't enough room

Review 24:great hotel, great location shuttle to a really good restaurant garage under hotel

Review 25:Cant think in a bad thing. Pompei is not a nice city. We just went there to visit the archaelogical site. We spent just one night, and the price was great.

Review 26:Great parking. Nice bedroom and bathroom. Everything really clean. Breakfast, ok. Nice owners. Good location. Perfect wifi. Great balance between what you pay and what you get.

Review 27:disappointed no tea/coffee making facilities in room HOWEVER the staff very helpful and provided pot of hot water so we could make our own hot drinks in room

Review 28:staff very friendly and helpful location ideal, within walking distance of Pompeii ruins

Review 29:Noise from road but unavoidable due to location.

Review 30:Very friendly staff, ten min walk from centre/ruins. Parking was on site and the place was easy to find from the roads. Nice rooms, modern, a lot more than expected for the price that we paid.

Review 31:One young lady on the counter didn't comprehend the challenge walking to the site would be for two older women. We made arrangements to be picked up by our guide and took an over priced cab home. Should have negotiated before we got in!

Review 32:When we arrived the room had not been set up for two singles so they accomodated us in two single rooms which were wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. WIFI was weak but the management was aware and while we were there had upgraded their service so it is superb. Breakfast was adequate but service friendly. Recommended restaurant was excellent. There was a mall nearby that gave a delightful diversion from touring!

Review 33:Car park is secure but very tight to manoevre a car into/out of!!

Review 34:Good location for a visit to the Pompeii ruins. Staff friendly, hotel clean and modern with good views of Vesuvius. Manageable walk to the ancient Pompeii ruins. Hotel owner will arrange a table at a friends restaurant. This is also good value for money and includes a free lift from the owner!

Review 35:Wifi not reaching rooms at extremity of hotel. Wifi has not enough speed. Interior parking space recommended only for small cars, as there are pillars everywhere in the basement parking. 6 cars maximum inside in the basement. Limited choices for breakfast. (No salty food such ham)

Review 36:Nice rooms cleaned and well designed. Easy access to hotel. 15 minutes walk to downtown Pompei, which prevent you of paying full parking fee downtown. Friendly personnel. Interior parking if you have a small car...

Review 37:Location, it is 15min walk to the ruins (doesn't feel like 700m as they say), crossing 2 junctions over a highway. Cleaning staff were noisy - they were using those flipflops that make clap-clap over the floor and they were chatting from one side to the other at normal voice tone, enough to wake you up in the morning-. A bit overpriced, in relation with other touristy cities in Europe, I would expct it to be around 50-55 euros rather than almost 70 (69 euros). 70 euros would be a fair price if located at the other side of the highway.

Review 38:Cleanliness Really nice staff

Review 39:Bathroom shower screen broken and no tea and coffee facilities in the room

Review 40:Very friendly staff. Helpful and informative

Review 41:Staff were very helpful and friendly

Review 42:location and parking facility

Review 43:It's a lovely hotel with a very accommodating staff

Review 44:Lovely, clean and modern decor. A very comfortable stay. Breakfast was great too. About a 30minute walk from town.

Review 45:Quiet, staff helpful and polite. Very clean, room comfortable

Review 46:Breakfast was quite poor, no fresh bread just toasted.

Review 47:Parking space in the hotel. Very close to all the places you need to see in the area.

Review 48:hotel on crossroad - too noisy and smell comming from outside

Review 49:hotel quite near city center and shopping center

Review 50:Long walk or a taxi ride (cost€15) to Pompei centre.

Review 51:Price paid

Review 52:Room and restaurant recommendations

Review 53:Breakfast

Review 54:Parking, room

Review 55:The quality of the facilities was great.

Review 56:Happy with everything

Review 57:Helpful staff, nibbles with drinks and outside tables for breakfast. Also like the individual art work.

Review 58:Staff friendlines. Walking distance from town center

Review 59:The location is close to the ruins, but you must walk across some very busy streets about 1km. Pompei in general is terribly dirty and sketchy, so this hotel was a light in the darkness!

Review 60:The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. Our room was very spacious, traveling with our 2 young children in need of a single and a crib, there was still plenty of room!

Review 61:Location outside Pompei, though fine if you have a car. The hotel has two restaurants it recommends, they come and pick you up from the hotel. Note if you book room with terrace and view you might not get it. I complained and they moved us for the second night. Unimaginitive breakfast.

Review 62:Design and decor and view of Vesuvius

Review 63:-

Review 64:Clean, big rooms, private garage. Easy to find. Big shopping mall not too far. The wifi was good. The breakfast was a bit poor, but regarding the price level of the hotel is ok. I recommend to stay here to everyone. + Really nice view on Vesuvio.

Review 65:It is a little bit far from the center and from the ruins. Due to the New Year's Eve celebration we couldn't find a taxi so we had to call a private driver which was very expensive. Noisy corridors.

Review 66:Friendly staff. Clean.

Review 67:Maybe it's only me but I'd like to have a small kettle with tea and coffee in the room, just to enjoy amazing views of mount Vesuvius after waking up in the morning over nice cuppa. Even though I could always go to the bar and get one, sometimes it's just not convenient.

Review 68:Staff was really friendly and helpful with every request we had. Hotel is well decorated and very clean. Even though its a small building, they have lift fitted which is very convenient to bring luggage from underground car park to the room, especially when traveling with 2 kids like we did.

Review 69:Stayed there for a week. Fair location, clean and spotless rooms, helpful staff, especially Cotello that went out of his way to help as with everything we needed.

Review 70:Location is a little noisy if your room is on the front.

Review 71:Very clean hotel in a modern European style. There were 3 of us and we had a good sized room. Staff very helpful. Breakfast simple but perfectly OK. Parking is 'tight' to say the least, but good to have.

Review 72:wifi was very, very poor..was advertised as being avail in all areas...worked adequately in lobby/bar area, but in-room was useless.

Review 73:staff excellent. facility excellent

Review 74:Location - bit far out but if you're driving then its fine.

Review 75:If you're driving this place is perfect! Went there to see the ruins of Pompeii. Staff are lovely, disabled facilities are excellent, rooms are modern and comfortable.

Review 76:Only 15 minute walk to Pompei ruins, but along busy roads, so tough in any kind of heat.

Review 77:Friendly staff with a smile for all occasions and helpful. Nice fresh décor throughout.

Review 78:this hotel was great the staff are excelent the rooms are very modern underground parking for car they dont have a resturant for evening meals but do provide breakfast if you want to visit pompei this hotel was great 15 minute walk into pompei and the ruins great shopping mall 10 minutes walk train station 10 minte walk there is no pool but for a base to see pompei ruins i would recomend

Review 79:Difficult to find as outside of main town and would recommend more sign posts or detailed instructions with hotel confirmation, alternatively get a taxi! However once you know where you are it is just a 15 minute walk from the town.

Review 80:Staff were very helpful, finding information for train times etc. also personally drove us to local ruins and also the train station on departure. Excellent service!

Review 81:Located away from main square and ruins, but all still within 15 mins walking distance.

Review 82:Very helpful staff. Arrived early and they let us park the car in the hotel garage for the day. Excellent coffee with breakfast.

Review 83:The location is 10 minutes' walk from the center of town and the ruins. Not far, but not a pretty walk across the A-1. We could have driven it and parked in town.

Review 84:This family-run hotel couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. The owners were a highlight of our trip. The mother can really bake! Impeccable, comfortable, very modern. Also, our best wi-fi yet in Italy. We would definitely stay here again.

Review 85:The location is difficult as it is in the middle of a busy motorway type road. felt dangerous walking there at night and with luggage. We were given a room right outside reception which was noisy at times. Also our bathroom was like a wet room (possibly disable friendly) so having a shower flooded the whole place.

Review 86:staff were really friendly, breakfast was nice, room way clean.

Review 87:No complaints.

Review 88:This hotel was a delightful surprise as I had booked it as a simple stopping point for visiting Pompeii the next morning. We drove in very late at night from Rome and the staff stayed up for us and greeted us with a smile. The complimentary breakfast was great and the location was perfect for Pompeii in the morning. Parking and wifi were free, nice bonus!

Review 89:Noise. We could hear neighbors above and aside. Also our room was next to the elevator and it was very loud! Even with earplugs it was uncomfortable to fall asleep.

Review 90:The lady in the morning at reception was very friendly and helpful!

Review 91:Location outside of the centre Best to book on Internet. Arrived lateand was offered the room for €70 (off season), went outside and bookedit for € 50 using the iPhone

Review 92:Clean and modern hotel

Review 93:This hotel promotes itself as having thick walls for privacy. This is not the case at all. We stayed for four nights. When we stayed our first night, it did not seem like a problem. However, the next night we heard the couple next door... I'm sure you all know what I mean. It was kind of funny at first and it only lasted for about 10 minutes. Me and my boyfriend being in a young twenties laughed it off. The next night we heard the same couple in a different room and this time I am sure the whole hotel could hear. It went on for more than two hours. When I finally went down to complain the workers were laughing about it. Another man later told me he took care of it. The next night it was the same couple doing the same thing in another room. I felt so uncomfortable. I would never consider going back.

Review 94:The hotel stood out from the rest of the city because it was much newer and cleaner than the rest. The breakfast was the same everyday but it was nice. It consisted of bread, meat, cheese, fruit, croissants, and coffee. It was modern and the staff was friendly.

Review 95:Location was in a rough part of town.

Review 96:amazing place - brilliant for children, clean, comfy and staff is so polite! Highly recomended!!

Review 97:Next door dog yapped for hours during night. Wi-fi inoperative.

Review 98:Handy for Pompeii

Review 99:Was all good.

Review 100:Staff were very obliging and hotel nice looking and quiet location. Mini bar well priced.

Review 101:air conditionned, walking distance from train station, shoppjng mall, and Pompeii center + site

Review 102:Parking underground was quite difficult especially with a larger car!

Review 103:Good location. Clean and modern with friendly and helpful staff.

Review 104:more variety for breakfast

Review 105:Clean and hopitable, but not as near to ancient Pompej than promoted

Review 106:Beds were firm.

Review 107:Very Clean, Kind Staff, Good breakfast, Close to major Shopping Centre, Good sized room, Great Shower, Great View.
