Reviews for CastaDiva Resort & Spa

Review 1:most staff were pleasant, but somewhat uninformed about what was going on in the area -- restaurant was not good, with a very limited menu and only mediocre taste

Review 2:the location and construction are magnificent -- however, not very practical -- you need to be a mountain goat to move around most of the property

Review 3:The food wasn't the best but wasn't the worst either, can't say about the meat options but that was the case for the vegetarian options.

Review 4:Lovely place, will be coming back, got upgraded which was an amazing and perfect surprise. Spa was also one of the best I've experienced.

Review 5:The breakfast choices are limited and honestly it was a let down compared to the rest of facilities in the hotel

Review 6:The hotel looks amazing and its located in a beautiful place. And the hotel offers a shuttle to the town which is really nice.

Review 7:Beautiful location, with the ambiance of the 'elegant tours of Europe". Superb facilities and staff who were were friendly and attentive. This was a vacation that included a bike ride around the lake and a wedding anniversary. It was very relaxing and enjoyable

Review 8:Needs lots of walking, and steps for simple tasks: getting breakfast. Favoritism over seating area for dinner. Very poor free facility to get to Como. Taxis simply ripp off artists. Very badly designed bathroom, a recipe for disaster with the bath Switches in the room, a plain headache. Ditasted the toileteries, could do a lot better

Review 9:Location over the lake, Comfortable room and clean, the staff

Review 10:The location is sublime! The resort itself is a haven with amazing villas each with their own spectacular view of Lake Como or their perfectly manicured gardens. The list of facilities is endless from an excellent spa to indoor and outdoor pools, opportunities to take boating trips, multiple dining options and day trips to near by towns. The staff do nothing less than seek to accommodate their guests and make them comfortable. An amazing place to stay!

Review 11:had the impression that we were kicked out at 12:00 the day of departure

Review 12:Amazing and unique place to stay .... unforgettbale experience luxury and refinment

Review 13:The hotel is classically elegant, but has modern ammenities. The staff was very helpful and eager to please. The location and views were as good as it gets on Lake Como!

Review 14:No lake access Service at breakfast was very poor We asked for an additional sun lounger for our terrace and we had to go to management level after two "sorries it's not possible" two people and one lounger

Review 15:We were there for a week and the selection for breakfast was identical each day. Only two towels in the room even though it was obvious that we were staying with a child. The bath design is horrible, water all over the place.

Review 16:Amazing villa in a beautiful setting. great spa and staff.

Review 17:The breakfast could have been better,I hate small plates in luxury hotels.

Review 18:Amazing location, great service, large room with amazing bathroom, beautiful gardens, very good wifi. Very nice they upgraded us from a junior suite to a superior suite since there was availability.

Review 19:After all the praise that I have given CastaDiva it seems a bit imbecilic to comment on this one and only bad point but it was the only thing that I couldn't understand and it is my little foible - We were lucky enough to stay in one of their penthouse suites (got a reduced last minute upgrade) which was simply magnificent however my only complaint was that despite the luxurious accommodation, two bathrooms, a kitchen including a wine fridge and so on there were no facilities to have a coffee when you get up in the morning!!! The accommodation was effectively an apartment that most people would be delighted to have as their main accommodation and must have cost 10's of thousands ££ just to furnish but there was no kettle or coffee facilities. Given the cost and the quality of everything else I would think that one should be able to have a coffee 1st thing without having to walk to the hotel or ordering room service. Why not have a Nespresso machine (or similar) in the rooms and charge per capsule?

Review 20:It is hard to put into words the experience of staying at the CastaDiva Hotel on Largo Di Como but I'll try to give you a feeling of what to expect when you stay there. From the minute you arrive at the entrance security gate you get the feel of a 5 star luxury hotel. Even the driveway down to the main reception is top quality :), immaculate, spotless (leaves cleaned by machine everyday) perfect in it's condition and almost prepares you for what is to come. You are personally met at the hotel reception door (security calls ahead to announce your arrival) and from there on the service is second to none - CastaDiva has the best trained and attentive staff I have came across in a large hotel. The accommodation is separate from the hotel (I don't think there are any rooms in the hotel itself but I may be wrong) and if you don't feel like walking, or it is raining, then "golf" type buggies are always available at the main door with a member of staff ready to take you to your apartment, suite or villa. The property is absolutely fabulous, the spa is perfect and the whole operation is the best I have come across in all of my travels. I couldn't recommend anywhere better for a complete chill out and relaxation experience and also perfect for a romantic few days away from it all. The next comment isn't a complaint or fault in any way but merely an observation that I felt you might want to be aware of if you are considering staying at the CastaDiva - The hotel is about 5km from Lake Como town and there isn't anything around the hotel if you feel like a short stroll out in the day or evening. They do offer a free shuttle bus to town but the last one back is 6.00pm so after that it is a taxi for the return journey, there are plenty of taxis about so not a problem at all and it is only about 15 euros. I could go on but I don't think there is any need, previous reviews and my own give you an idea of what awaits you at CastaDiva....enjoy.

Review 21:For the money spent I felt like there should have been more offered. To start, the address was not in the GPS database. We ended up passing the hotel the first time by because there is no sign pointing towards the hotel entrance. Granted we had the cheapest room but WOW was it small. Room description was misleading as there was no "garden view". Bathroom window looked right out to the walkway and the "seethrough" curtains provided NO privacy whatsoever. The last night on property our room was infested with ants. Restaurant was average at best and service was extremely slow.

Review 22:Location was amazing. Facilities were outstanding. Spa facilities were beyond expectation and floating pool was an excellent touch.

Review 23:Managed to get a kettle and cups delivered to suite which was a long way from main buildings so could have cups of fruit tea but despite explaining we needed them they kept taking the cups back and I ended up drinking tea for several days from wine glasses. A bit more flexibility.... Restaurant had limited choice for non meat eaters and the fish came plain with no sauce. Also bought one of us the wrong menu at dinner and had to re choose everything.

Review 24:High quality of suite and public rooms and spa. Excellent masseuse. Great boat trip in hotel's private boat. One hour was plenty.

Review 25:You can find your peaceful serenity there and your utmost quality time with an excellent accommodation and prima services! Warm hospitality and very professional!! GBU ALL!

Review 26:The food was not of the same standard as the rest of the hotel. We had dinner twice in the hotel and it wasn't good. The breakfast was "okay".

Review 27:The staff were very friendly and all spoke English. The location is beautiful, overlooking Lake Como.A staff membe said the hotel was renovated in 2010 and the attention to detail is fabulous

Review 28:Atmosphere may have been a bit more quiet than we would have liked. It is a resort, so rooms are far away from the main hub of the hotel, which in bad weather is not so great, but im just nit-picking here.

Review 29:Loved the Spa - Absolutely amazing/serene/peaceful. Loved the Bar & Restaurants - Flawless.

Review 30:Service was too formal - almost as if the staff had been told not to engage with guests. Service at time included basic errors - orders not always correct and some requests forgotten completely. Nothing major, but not mistakes you expect at this price.

Review 31:Spa & floating swimming pool - great facilities Upgrade to huge apartment

Review 32:Staff weren't trained to the level expected for a hotel of this standard. Wifi in our room was intermittent and weak. The new grill should remain open at night to supplement the informal dining option.

Review 33:Location is superb. Hotel is beautiful and blends the old with the new very tastefully. Great facilities.

Review 34:Love the place, It's heaven on earth. Great service, an excellent staff. Very Romantic.

Review 35:Not easy to get around the area if you don't have a car.

Review 36:Very private and secure location

Review 37:If only they could offer more varieties of food.

Review 38:The staff is really good. They go out of their way to help.

Review 39:The staff were amazing

Review 40:Leaving!

Review 45:The room, to many doors. Restaurant in the knight is fancy and no good food.

Review 46:The Spa

Review 47:Great hotel, beautiful view, kind staff, upgrade when room has problems. Excellent facility.

Review 48:The most beautiful hotel in an idyllic setting. Spa amenities are over the top. Room was beautiful and comfortable

Review 49:Attitude of stuff. Manager was not ready to help and his attitude was arrogant.

Review 50:Location, spa

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:Everything, very helpful staff Beautiful hotel, nice big rooms and the spa is absolutely amazing! I can recommend this hotel

Review 53:Food ,

Review 54:Location and Spa

Review 55:The staff and customer service. Horrendous.

Review 56:Location and building

Review 57:The food at L'Orangerie needs to be rethought. But breakfast and the setting is lovely.

Review 58:A wonderful experience!

Review 59:Cost of the stay was high wiyh little to no free items.

Review 60:The location is perfect. The staff amazing. Great 5 star hotel resort.

Review 61:Staff is very slow

Review 62:Gorgeous property

Review 63:nothing

Review 64:The location and facilities are excellent. Amazing staff. Hotel has gym and spa. Loved it!

Review 65:Ideal place for relaxation and enjoying the Como lake view

Review 66:Pure luxury. Prime location. Dreamlike.

Review 67:The restaurant was a little disappointing...

Review 68:Service is not 5 star at all. When you need anything, be prepared thatyou will have to call staff at least twice. Just an example - whe hadtwo rooms with our friends. Once we returned to the hotel from a longwalk and discovered that our keys from both rooms don't work. Wecalled reception by phone located near the lift and asked somebody tocome and open our rooms. We've been waiting for 15 minutes, afterthat we saw a housemaid and asked her to open doors. Electricity in theroom doesn't work without the card. We waited for extra 10 minutesand called reception one more time. Only after the second call the senta servant with keys. Restaurant is also very average - green tomatoes incaprese look very strange in June in Italy.

Review 69:New resort with a good location not very far from Como, goodrooms, nice pool

Review 70:Price. Very expensive hotel even for all that is provided. Nickeling and dimming. For the price I'm paying, I would expect water to be free in the room. It wasn't expect for first night which was a disappointment.

Review 71:Amazing facilities, style, and views around the hotel. Resort style hotel with very specious rooms. Very professional and helpful staff that leaves you speechless from the level of service they provide.

Review 72:Menu in main restaurant is far too small. Dinner in main restaurant should be shifted to upper floor to maximize the view.. Food in bar is too expensive.. Rides to local areas should be provided throughout the day rather than twice a day..

Review 73:Service is outstanding. Location is dream-like.

Review 74:The tv screen small , the hot water not strong , the water not strong in the bath .... !

Review 75:The design , the locthion was the best ....the food is great ...

Review 76:Amazing hotel with awesome view! It was one of the most memorize breakfast in my life- sunrise through the window, appetizing delicious nice & various food, good service! SPA is splendid, but for charge. I suppose it had to be free even indoor swimming pool.

Review 77:An amazing hotel with a wonderful staff. Every piece of detail is aninterpretation of luxury and fancy. So quite so peaceful with all youcan expect of a top class hotel.

Review 78:Expensive options such as spa and excursions.Road access to resort and surrounding areas very narrow and difficult to pass in areas.

Review 79:Great location with 24 hr security. Staff were excellent. Bedroom was superb.

Review 80:They use booking.com to cheat people! First they show you a very badroom, and then try to upgrade it with +650 eur price diffrence! You cannegotiate for the price (our last price is: booking.com price+200eurmore!). A weird italien way of tourizm. This hotel needs a very goodfive star chain!!! Book from d'este it is better and cheaper.

Review 81:New luxury hotel, excellent vi̇ew, good restaurant staff, close to como.

Review 82:I usually stay at Villa DEste and this time we decided to try something new. The location is nice but once you get out of the hotel you need a car, you get straight to the road with no pedestrian path. Everything is too new in this hotel in a bad way. The stuff. They seem like never done it before. Some buildings and furniture and "peaces of art" if I may call it so. It may take years and years before it turns into really nice place. Before that I strongly recommend Villa DEste
