Reviews for Hotel Iside
Review 1:The shower stand is a little too cramped.
Review 2:Very helpful staff. They gave us suggestions on what to see and where to go, including direction. Breakfast was good. Nice view from the balcony. Ample parking (but this was off season). They allowed us to keep the car and luggage for the whole day after we checked out. They also kindly let us use an umbrella. Overall, a very nice experience. Location can't be better.
Review 3:From the train station it's a little walk but it's the perfect distance from the Pompeii site. Very clean and simple. Nothing too fancy but it isn't a disappointment. Brush up on your Italian and that will make things much better. Shortest walk to Pompeii and we always felt safe traveling at night.
Review 4:The room could have been a little more spacious, but thankfully, the rooms have a balcony. So that helped.
Review 5:The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. One of them even called a local pizzeria and ordered for us. I was here for new year's and from our balcony, we were able to see a great fireworks show. The location of the hotel is nice. Personally, I don't like places with crowds of people. So this was perfect for us. It didn't have many crazy drivers or people all over the sidewalks.
Review 6:nice and comfortable room with a big buffet breakfast that filled us up for day. There was a lemon grove at the back of the hotel and a view of Vesuvius from our balcony
Review 7:Just a tired old hoel although well kept and clean. plumbing & shower pitiful.
Review 8:Location was very andy for visiting ruins and for dining out in the evening
Review 9:The noise in the rooms facing the road but, that cannot be helped.
Review 10:The owners were very welcoming and helpful. I felt like I was a guest in someone's home rather than an hotel. I loved the fruit orchard and sat there every afternoon, under the fruit trees.
Review 11:Very good location in Pompei. It was only 5 minutes walking to the ruins and the same to city center - main square. Parking possibility in the courtyard was ok.
Review 12:One of our three rooms (no. 20) was located on the ground floor. People in the street passing by could look directly in the room, unless you closed the shutters. Taking a shower in the bathroom actually meant flooding the entire room as there was no shower enclosure (designed for people with disabilities). The two rooms on the first floor were much better. Partially lack of warm water in the morning - thus better to get up early.
Review 13:Friendly staff. The hotel is quite centrally located, just a brief walk from the city center as well as from the entrance to the excavation site. The breakfast was also very reasonable. Overall I would consider the price-performance as very good. Free secure parking. I can recommend this hotel and would stay there again - however would also recommend to avoid rooms on the ground floor if possible.
Review 14:The hotel is on a busy road so there is traffic noise at night particularly if your room is on the front.
Review 15:The staff were really friendly and helpful. Convenient location. Warm crossiants and lovely cappuccino for breakfast.
Review 16:Hotel is located just a short walk to the entrance to the Pompei ruins. The breakfast included was great, including some fresh fruit. On check in we were given a map and help with directions which was a big help.
Review 17:Our friends had a room with poor wifi and had to sit in reception area to connect.
Review 18:Great location, walking distance to everything. Staff friendly. We were surprised at the great standard as the price was very reasonable.Provided some gluten free breakfast. Pompei town was interesting to wak around and had some good cafes.
Review 19:Breakfast was quite basic (particularly on our second morning).
Review 20:Very handy for a relaxed visit to Pompeii, and well located for walking to/from the entrance gate. Comfortable and spacious rooms.
Review 21:Not too complain: but walls in Italian hotels are thin. We can reccomand the place for a Pompeii trip.
Review 22:Very friendly and helpfull staff. Parking behind hotel at safe place. 10 min walk to Pompeii scave. (many) restaurants on walking distance. Breakfast: OK. This hotel is value for the money you pay!
Review 23:Bathroom very small and mold dirt very dirty unappealing shower I actually cleaned the floor, the shower twice, removing some mold.
Review 24:Location good. Owners friendly and nice
Review 25:On a very busy, noisey street, get a room at the back of the hotel, WIFI was very poor.
Review 26:Walking distance to Pompeii ruins, secure parking, staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 27:I found nothing to dislike. Next door to the ruins, lots of places to eat within a 4 block area which will put you on the edge of the main square.. Elevator, working wifi, parking, clean, simple but good breakfast a balcony. Worked for me
Review 28:The shower was too small, 2 feet by 2 feet. The bathroom was tiny.
Review 29:Convenient to ruins, restaurants, train. Nice breakfast, great staff. Room was pretty with lovely balcony.
Review 30:Limited breakfast and some minor tweaks in the bathroom needs fixing
Review 31:Good value for money and very good location for the "Scavi-visit. Very big plus for parking facilities
Review 32:Generally very tired bedrooms and the bathroom was dirty, pillows and beds uncomfortable.
Review 33:Very close to the ruins at Pompeii and easy to find restaurants etc. staff were very helpful and pleasant, breakfast was good.
Review 34:The toilet is not as good as we wished. Wifi is almost unavailale.
Review 35:Good location, near the sight and restaurants. The hotel owns a big garden, where we can park cars safely and enjoy ourselves under the trees. The cappuccino there is really good and it is worthy to give it a try. The staff is very kind.
Review 36:No information available re options for touring about the area. Only one staff had good English.
Review 37:Quite location & easy walk to Pompeii ruins. Good breakfast included in price.Staff friendly but hard to communicate as I do not speak Italian.
Review 38:2 things. Number 1 there was no fridge or room safe but I think this is not uncommon in this area (I may be wrong) Number 2, very little English spoken, so difficult to get helpful tips from hotel (this is not a criticism, I should learn more Italian)
Review 39:A good location very close to Pompei ruins and a short walk to the town (10mins) The hotel was clean and tidy and the family that run it are very pleasant. The car park is secure and off the road.
Review 40:Special request of Gluten free menu was was implemented without reminder. The hotel was in a great location for the main tourist area for Pompei and had free parking.
Review 41:Poor Wi-Fi upload. Breakfast is good but very simple.
Review 42:Very helpfull stuff, good location for excursions around Amalfi coast, Naples and Paestum. Clean and comfortable bathroom and room. Pompeii Scavi you can see from room terace. Ercolano and Vesuvius excursions are available 10 minutes walk from hotel. New Pompei centre is clean with good restaurants and 5 minute walk from hotel.
Review 43:Pillows were quite hard, but that seems to be the case in most of the places Italy.
Review 44:The stuff is very helpfull and has all the info and maps that you will need.
Review 45:I loved the hotel nothing to complain
Review 46:It was a family business and the owners were so friendly and genuine always had a smile on them, the room had the best air conditioning ever and very clean and nice and it had a nice balcony which had a view on scafti and mount Vesuvius the WiFi was so fast and the breakfast was nice
Review 47:Room a bit small, pictures were not accurate, the garden had become parking lot (which we used gratefully)
Review 48:Parking lot, location close to excavation of Pompeii and train stations to Naples
Review 49:There was a used bandage on the soap in the bathroom, and there were ants in the room. The walls were really thin, you could hear whenever someone would flush the toilet, or take a shower in the next room. The balcony was inaccessible in one of our two rooms.
Review 50:The location was great, just a few minutes from the archelogical site. The free parking was very convenient, and the staff was nice.
Review 51:Make sure you know to get on the correct metro line and which station to get off on because that was a little confusing.
Review 52:So close to ruins and metro station. It is family owned which is awesome and they are all so nice! I would stay again in a heart beat.
Review 53:The staff was wonderful and cares about their patrons . My husband had his wallet stolen off the train at Pompeii and they recommended we file a report with the police. They also asked if we were alright and if we needed anything . Hotel was just as we expected for visiting the area .
Review 54:Nothing serious, but the bathtub is quite small, the windows let a bit too much street noise in, the property it's a bit dated.
Review 55:The good location close to both the center and the excavation site, the friendliness of the staff, the lots of lemon and orange trees in the garden.
Review 56:Feels like a bed & breakfast within a hotel. Staff was exceptionally nice and welcoming. Location for the price; can't beat it. Literally two blocks away from the entrance to the Pompeii ruins yet within an area that avoids all of the city noise.
Review 57:Room is basic for the price but it's not bad for a night or two.the area around the hotel is a bit run down.
Review 58:Free parking was great and is very secure. Breakthrough was also good.
Review 59:The doors are not very acoustically isolated so you might hear your neighbors on their way out/in.
Review 60:Family-run hotel. A 10 minute walk from the Amphiteather entrance of the Pompeii excavations and a 15 minute walk from the centre of Pompei. The strongest and fastest WiFi I have ever experienced in a hotel. The property is nothing mind blowing from an aesthetic point of view but they provide you with everything you need.
Review 61:Very convenient to ruins and restaurants. They let us leave our car in their gated parking area after checking out so we could visit the ruins. Breakfast was very good. Room was small but adequate. Property is clean and secure.
Review 62:The staff at this family run hotel were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean with a balcony. Wifi was excellent. Ruins of Pompeii were a five minute walk and the centre was also close. Breakfast was fresh and had variety. Staff organised a taxi for us to the train station. We would stay there again.
Review 63:Hotel was very nice family run business. Staff was very kind and helpful. Location is just few step from Pompei area and city centre with restaurants is also very close.
Review 64:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the free wifi worked perfectly. The hotel is nicely situated for the ruins and the station.
Review 65:Everything was perfect. Best offer in Pompeji. Highly recommended. The "old" Hotel owner takes out limones from the trees personally. What a kind person! The guests are in their focus. If you want to make a Good relaxation, go to Iside Hotel.
Review 66:My room had a shower that was smaller than a phone booth, 203, if I remember. I literally, could not bend down and wash my lower legs. It did however have a balcony that gave fresh air and a view to nothing much.
Review 67:The people at the hotel tried to be as helpful as possible but the older folk had a difficult time with English though we could figure things out. The breakfast was very good with some decadent pastries and that is a very good thing. Also, you choice of any kind of fresh coffees.
Review 68:None
Review 69:Located midway between station and new town and easy walk to the less touristy entrance to the ruins. An easy walk into new Pompeii which has a number of good value trattoria, coffee and gelato shops. For those like us, with a car, the parking in their lemon grove was generous by Italian standards and always locked-opened only by front of house who were there 24/24. New Pompeii is a good stopping point for Naples city (by train), Vesuvius and other ruins at Herculaneum and Paestum. Think about more than one night.
Review 70:only 300 metres to ruins, secure and easy to access parking, home- style breakfast with oranges grown out the back, home made cake, friendly atmosphere.
Review 71:The breakfast was very filling and set us up for the day. The hotel room was very clean and the double bed was large. We like sitting on the balcony.
Review 72:Everything was good!
Review 73:Hotel Iside is ideally located half way between the centre of Pompei town (& the main railway station) and the Circumvesuvia rail station at Pompei Scavi. The (generally quieter) Anfitreo gate to the Pompeii site is a comfortable 5 minutes walk away. The hotel is in a quiet location, and is well run by a friendly family. Rooms are reasonably spacious and spotlessly clean. The centre of modern Pompei (5 minutes walk) was a really pleasant surprise: a large tree-lined square with an enormous church on one side, impressive buildings and a reasonable choice of restaurants (we liked Pizza & Pasta at one corner of the square).
Review 74:An old couple at the reception are extremely nice and cooperative people. Good location. In general the place is a very good value for money you pay. Would certainly stay at this hotel again and/or recommend this hotel.
Review 75:Rooms a bit small, towels (like many hotels in Italy) like kitchen towels. That's not a big deal, though. The worst bit were the Americans who checked in, talked at maximum decibel level and then turned their TVs on at 3am at a high volume to wake the rest of us up for the rest of the night. Have some consideration, people!
Review 76:Location, friendliness of staff
Review 77:Great situation close to entrance to Pompei and within walking distance of Circumvesuvio railway. Quiet (for Italy!) location where you can relax with a drink under the orange trees. Really friendly and helpful family. Excellent coffee at breakfast.
Review 78:Nothing bad at all!!
Review 79:We absolutely loved the hotel. We were checked in by the elderly receptionists who treated us like family. Its 200m from the amphitheatre entrance and near the centre of town. They recommended some restaurants which were very good.
Review 80:Too basic, we had a room at the back that overlooked the yard and we decided the room just wasn't comfortable enough for our needs. Disappointing!
Review 81:We booked a quadruple room. It looks like the same size room as the others but it has 4 beds. It was a little tight when our luggage was open. There were also a few dust bunnies under the bed.
Review 82:The hotel is very close to the Scavi entrance. It is a clean place to sleep. The bathroom is a little small, but there was lots of hot water and crisp white towels. The breakfast is simple but very satisfying. They spoke great english at the front desk.
Review 83:Breakfast was monotonous after three days. We imported our own tomatoes, bananas and cereal for some variety.
Review 84:15 mins or less walk to both main Pompeii entrances, the town centre and the Circumvesuviana metro for Herculaneum, Sorrento and Naples.
Review 85:The walls need a paint, there was some mould on the bathroom ceiling, and the rooms are very basically furnished. OK for one night.
Review 86:The staff are friendly, the location is good for entry to the ruins, and there is secure on site parking.
Review 87:We booked the family room but it was just 2 extra beds crowded in. The breakfast was a bit sparse and we had difficulty communicating with some of the staff. It is a small hotel...maybe family owned....so maybe that is why their English was limited.
Review 88:The clerk we met first spoke perfect English and was able to offer incredible information about the area...grocery stores, restaurants, info on Pompeii. Even with communication with the rest of staff at a minimum, they were very nice and tried hard to accommodate us. The hotel was in a great location to Pompeii, downtown and the train station...an easy 15 minute walk...
Review 89:Pompei is dissapointing - few visitor facilities.. In April 2015 a lot is "closed off.."note it is difficult cobble- terrain! Entrance Looks grubby? busy ..busy compared with beautiful 'old' Ostia Antica (town) 20 km west of Rome..a huge site.
Review 90:Simple sweet hotel - family run..
Review 91:A little noisy on Sunday evening and evening rush hour, if you have a room on a lower floor on the side facing the road (and Vesuvious). It wasn't a problem to us but could be if you were a light sleeper. Orchard side of the building is quieter.
Review 92:Clean comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast available. Secure off road parking at the back of the hotel. Hotel located within easy walking distance of the town centre, the Pompeii ruins and two metro stations (about 10 mins walking) which will give you cheap access to Herculaneum ( Ercolano Scavi), Naples (Napoli Garibaldi) and other towns along the coast. Carrefour supermarket located nearby.
Review 93:It seemed a long walk from train station to hotel. But there was another entrance to the Pompeii ruins a block away and many great restaurants nearby. Cathedral close also. Well worth the walk.
Review 94:Nothing
Review 95:Excellent location for the ruins, private parking and value for the price . Mostly a residential area but enough services nearby. We would easily return.
Review 96:Rooms are very small. Mold in the shower.
Review 97:Very clean hotel. Good parking and best location for accessing Pompeii site. This is a family operated hotel and everyone was very gracious.
Review 98:Beds were a bit firm
Review 99:Pompei is a small town sitting near the famous ruins and this hotel is very close to the southern entrance and a 10 minute walk from the centre of town, we found the hotel to be very clean throughout, a continental breakfast was included in the price making this a very good value deal. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, definetely recommend this hotel
Review 100:I felt the breakfast could be more generous-very limited and portions of rolls/butter were allocated to each table. One cup of beverage offered, refills not encouraged but given when asked for. No optional lunches or evening meals. Information about area given when asked for, but not volunteered & little interest taken in the visitors. No fridge or safe in room.
Review 101:Very close to the ruins and to the town for shops etc. Rooms were warm, clean and had pleasant balconies facing out to Vesuvius. Area felt safe and was quiet at night after midnight. Beds comfortable, gated secure parking. Staff courteous.
Review 102:The beds were very hard and the shower was very small. My husband couldn't turn around in it. He has broad shoulders.
Review 103:Location was good, the owners were lovely people and the hotel was clean. The breakfast was good.
Review 104:Very convenient for the excavations at Pompeii. Staff very friendly and helpful. I was able to leave my car at the hotel when visiting the excavations. Food excellent.
Review 105:Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help you. Perfectlocation and excellent value for money. On the day we left, we had teaand cakes for four, 4 euros total.
Review 106:Extremely small shower but all worked adequately. Breakfast basic and only ok if you like sweet things.
Review 107:Really close to the ruins and the restaurants of Pompeii.Lovely people running the hotel.Good value for money.
Review 108:Our room was on the front of the hotel so quite noisy once the traffic started up. Its a side road but a thoroughfare. Not the best view, probably best to ask for a room on the back.
Review 109:Great location for the sights and a stroll into town. Car park behind the hotel was useful. Overall a good budget hotel and we would use it again for a stopover.
Review 110:A little challenging to find as our GPS map didn't have the specific street name. Best to get a local map and ask directions.
Review 111:Not fancy but a very reasonably priced hotel, located close to the gates of Pompei. Staff are friendly and helpful and the room, while basic was clean and acceptably comfortable.
Review 112:Nothing!
Review 113:It was clean & comfortable. The staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast was good. Location good, only 5 mins walk to the ruins (amphitheatre entrance). Had secure parking. Air conditioning worked beautifully. Really good value for money.
Review 114:Situated on a busy road. Had to sleep with windows closed.
Review 115:Near the town center and on convenient distance from both the two railway stations and the ruins. Very good breakfast (as a continental one). No minibar or refrigerator, but the bar was kept open by a 24/7 reception.
Review 116:Thin walls -so if you are a light sleeper may disturb you. No coffee/tea making facilities in rooms. No fridge which would have been handy.
Review 117:The location for the ruins was fantastic. 3 minute walk to Amphitheatre Gate. 10minute walk from both Pompeii Scavi (Villa of the Mysteries -trains from Naples, trains to Sorrento) and Pompeii Sauntaro (Trains to Naples and Circumvesuvia line).A few good restaurants and if you fancy a change from Italian Cuisine try the British Pub - good Magners ciders and British dishes Italian style!
Review 118:poorly maintained rooms with a number of minor irritants related to maintainance - no reading globe; blocked drain; broken toilet seat noise of nearby freeway - especially at night breakfast mean- meusli please instead of coco pops - a better range of fresh fruit. never stayed at any hotel which metes out the pastries! Clearer directions from the rail
Review 119:clean adequate facilities location - once we found it some staff spoke english and very helpful
Review 120:This is a great hotel - small, friendly & we had a balcony over the garden. The rooms were basic but very clean and they changed our towels & made the beds each day. Breakfast was good, and it was very close to the Pompeii ruins. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend it.
Review 121:The area looks a bit run down but safe nonetheless.
Review 122:Family run, no worries at all. Car parked in gated area, personal belongings left in room with complete confidence. Staff very accommodating.
Review 123:- Small room, especially the bath and shower - Walls made of paper I think, as each time somebody from above our room would flush the toilet, we would feel like the water is coming on our heads. - Noisy because everybody can hear everybody if the rooms are close to each other - Staff composed of old people who didn't speak english - Breakfast could be more varied. - It's a two star hotel, not 3 - Hotel building was near a spooky abandoned building
Review 124:- Close to Pompeii Ruins - Ok breakfast - Good WiFi connection incuded in the price
Review 125:The breakfast could be better No small fridges The room is very basic and bathroom small
Review 126:Family business, very sympathetic and polite staff Located just round the corner from the Archeological Pompeii Secure parking - they even offered to leave the car after our check out for our better convenience
Review 127:The hotel, though round the corner from the Entrance to the Ruins, was set on a quiet road and the rooms were all extremely clean and airy. Our room was on the road but it was very silent whilst the children's room was on the garden and both had large balconies. The breakfast was MORE than what we had expected from a 3* hotel. The staff is very professional and easily make you feel at home. The carpark adjacent to the hotel was locked at all times. Would definitely recommend to all who are visiting the area.
