Reviews for Hotel Monte Rosa
Review 1:Nothing!
Review 2:We had a top floor room with a view of the town and the surrounding hills. A wonderful "room with a view". My wife and I plan to visit again next year. I highly recommend it.
Review 3:Not a bad experience as such, but it was a shame that the terrace and pool were closed on Friday afternoon/evening (our last night there) for a private function. Menu in the restaurant very limited.
Review 4:Fabulous location in the old town and a few minutes walk from the sea front. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a peaceful morning by the pool, and had delicious meals each night in the town.
Review 5:Not children frendly. We were charged EUR 15 for baby cot (used baby) and EUR 25 for child (5 years) who staid in the room with parents and used the parents bed.
Review 6:Personal was very helpfull
Review 7:The wi-fi coverage was poor in some areas.
Review 8:In my opinion it is a hotel with perfect size. You are being recognised as a guest and you easily feel "at home". The location is also perfect in regards to both shopping, restaurants and the beach. Excellent garage service as well if you have a car.
Review 9:Difficult to stay connected (WiFi) at some locations with in hotel areas.
Review 10:Good location, nice premises and helpful presonnel, that were able to provide good tips, regarding restaurant etc. Nice pool area with sun chairs, and bar/cafe with good variations of food and drinks. The town was also nice, and located with several visiting spots nearby, for example Cinque Terre.
Review 11:Breakfast could have had more choice we were not aware of any hot food only boiled eggs . Choice of breads available could be improved
Review 12:Staff very helpful and polite
Review 13:The hotel is beautiful in all interior. The staff is exceptionally nice and attentive. Excellent, kind and warm service. My friends just loved to stay there.
Review 14:Wifi hasn't improved - patchy and weak. There aren't enough beds around the pool for everyone who wants to use the area on a hot day. We never bother with breakfast because it's pretty poor - perhaps unfair if it has improved since previous visits!
Review 15:The hotel is in a good location in the old town. We've stayed there sevral times but his was the first since the rooms on the 3rd floor were renovated and they're much better. The staff are helpful and the pool area is unique for Chiavari
Review 16:Old-fashioned 70th style furnishing in the room.
Review 17:Very nice terrace and swimming pool, good breakfast with wide choice, clean and spacious room, bath with separate toilette and bidet.
Review 18:The breakfast. No wifi in the room.
Review 19:Clean, nice hotel in the heart of the city. Nice pool. Nice staff. The hotel is old and the room would benefit from an update but nothing major.
Review 20:I loved it here. I would definitely go back. All the staff were so lovely and friendly and the entire hotel is spotlessly clean. Even the towels and the bath products excelled expectations.
Review 21:The bedroom was not like the fancy looking ones that we see in the advertising pictures on Booking. WiFi was a bit slow. The breakfast room needs more natural light.
Review 22:Attentive service. Well-equipped room and in general a very tidy hotel. The pool area looks great, too bad we went in Winter!
Review 23:Nothing
Review 24:Lovely pool area with sun loungers and towels. Great childrens play area where my grandchildren aged 2 and 5 played. Also on same level lovely terrace for drinks and snacks. Breakfast good. Train and bus station just a 5 min walk. Very good air con and rooms well cleaned. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 25:the Front desk staff were exceptionally helpful, the room was decent, the hotel was clean, the food was great in the dining hall and for breakfast
Review 26:- Location in the town centre, but close to the beach - Closed garage at low cost - good breakfast
Review 27:Great position in the heart of he old town, close to restaurants, shops, railway, markets, museums etc,
Review 28:Service-minded staff with good location and parking possiblities in hotell garage
Review 29:Happened groups of guests made it difficult for staff to catch up with the demand.
Review 30:Exellent location for exploring "5Terre".
Review 31:Nice sized, well-appointed room. Lavish breakfast. All the staff prepared to go the extra mile.
Review 32:Staff were excellent especially in the restaurant. Room was modern and clean. Food was excellent.
Review 33:Very nice rooms with excellent bathrooms.
Review 34:I've traveled around Italy several times. I've never come across a hotel that is run as professionally as Monte Rosa.
Review 35:Hotel with character in perfect place to explore Cinque Terre. In the heart of the town but peaceful and relaxing
Review 36:Other guests reserving the best sunbeds and the leaving to have breakfast and the staff allowing this is not ok.
Review 37:Pretty pool area.
Review 38:The location was great and so was all the staff. A lovely small hotel with all comfort needed. Nice and clean.
Review 39:Only wifi need to improve...slow in most area of the hotel
Review 40:The staff were very friendly, the hotel lovely and comfortable and the restaurant superb!
Review 41:Very comfortable bed and very quiet room.
Review 42:Relaxed and attentitive staff with a first class restaurant.
Review 43:nothing
Review 44:Very pleasant staff at reception.
Review 45:Chiavari is not the most beautiful place to be
Review 46:Very friendly staff. Great food (fish is excellent) & good selection of vine in the restaurant. The hotel has a certain the charm of the 80th.
Review 47:WiFi trouble (omg ipv6), hot tub and pool closed in bad weather. A little far from the sea.
Review 48:Really nice rooms (more than you expect from 3 stars). Clean. VERY friendly and helpful staff everywhere. Comfortable pool area. Free bicycles. Overall - very positive impression.
Review 49:-hotel in dining room has bit the charme of old -coffee at breakfast was not good
Review 50:-location is perfect in old part of city - walking distance to shops and restaurants -pool area is good and adds comfort -parking possibility for car in this area is essential
Review 51:none
Review 52:The room was clean and quiet, the staff friendly and helpful and the location in the historical part of town yet close to the beach was excellent Parking available on site. A family run hotel that cares well for its guests. Highly recommended.
Review 53:- A little hard bed and dark room.
Review 54:- Very good and helpful staff. - Nice and quiet environment around the swimming-pool and the terrasse. - Free bikes available for a ride. - Good location for few days near the seaside.
Review 55:My stay was too short
Review 56:Great hotel, good facilities and all staff very helpful and supportive. Excellent position for access to town - shops, restaurants, railway station etc - thus no need to drive during stay. Position also excellent for visits to other parts of Riviera Ligure Levante such as Le Cinque Terre. Would definitely go back next time in Liguria.
Review 57:Very noisy in the room, could hear toilets flushing and water running throughout the night, disturbing sleep constantly
Review 58:Good location being near the shops and historic pedestrian areas
Review 59:The rooms are very noisy - you can here exactly what's happening in the next door bathroom and if your neighbour is up several times a night, sleep is interrupted. The walls must be paper thin. The front desk are mostly very helpful and friendly with one notable exception which was a pity. Wifi system has not worked in the rooms during any of our visits.
Review 60:This was our third stay this year - so we obviously like the place! The hotel is in a wonderful location, the rooms are comfortable and the pool area is great when you want some sun, R&R and a swim
Review 61:Nothing negative to say about the hotel. The decor of the bedrooms was a bit dated but that's really the only thing.
Review 62:The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The atmosphere was really relaxed. Nice pool and wifi available. Breakfast was very nice as well. Had an amazing stay!
Review 63:Accessing the wifi was only in hour slots. The staff would provide log in details but it is a pain having to log in each hour. A continuous log in for the duration of the stay would be best. Also the bar closes at 11pm which for a Brit on holiday is altogether just not good enough. I am also a fan of Weissbier. They do not stock any at the time of writing.
Review 64:A really nice hotel in agreat location. The pool area is really good and the bar area is really pleasant and a great place to relax. The room air conditioning was very efficient and much valued by us at the height of summer. We would definitely consider the Monte Rosa if we returned to Chiavari.
Review 65:Hallways not air conditioned, only the rooms.
Review 66:Staff was amazing and rooms were impeccable. Breakfast was excellent with homemade fruit salad, cereal, and even omelettes on request. Loved the self serve espresso machine that did latte, cappuccino , etc. great pool. Hotel is minutes on foot to many reasonable priced restaurants. This town is a good base for exploring other areas like Cinque Terre and Portofino.
Review 67:The hotel was spotlessly clean with very good quality fixtures and fittings, the food was fabulous, the staff exceptionally helpful. The location was perfect for visiting all the attractions of the area, and a nice city in itself. The hotel, drinks and food were very good value.
Review 68:Being a four star hotel would have liked tea&coffee facilities in our room.
Review 69:The hotel was comfortable and the staff very helpful. We had to change our booking at the last minute and this was not a problem, staff were very efficient. The pool area was exceptionally clean and the attendant very polite and helpful.
Review 70:No coffee/tea etc in the room and the wifi was very difficult to access. We've stayed there twice and it was the same both times
Review 71:Location is fantastic, very nice pool area and quite comfortable rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful
Review 72:On three occasions during our month stay we were unable to use the large outside sitting area (on second floor overlooking the pool) and the pool area itself because of private functions - one wedding party, one other party and one outdoor conference type dinner function. (Normally, I would say that this wasn't a problem but during our stay the weather was particularly poor, and while I appreciate that the hotel has no control over that, it would have been nice to be able to use the pool area on the few days that the weather was fine rather than being denied access. We were in room 230, that is directly above a function room on the ground floor. There was considerable noise from functions going on in that room on three consecutive nights. Restaurant staff at breakfast seemed to cater more to tour groups that stayed at the hotel than individual travelers. Some breakfast items weren't readily replaced after they had left. If breakfast is served until 10:00 a.m., then all items should be available until that time, not just leftovers. Days that the head waiter was on duty always seemed to be better than when he wasn't.
Review 73:Hotel is in an excellent location, close the main shopping areas and railway station. A very reasonably priced hotel within this category of hotel. Excellent front desk employees as well as housemaid service. Coffee shop/bar on ground floor provided very good service with inexpensive food and drinks.
Review 74:Quite noisy - there doesn't seem to be much sound proofing so we could hear people talking or moving about in nearby rooms. Breakfast was adequate but brown rolls were so stale they'd gon crisp!
Review 75:Location was perfect, right in the centre of the old town, staff were friendly and very helpful in recommending restaurants
Review 76:The bed and pillows were horribly hard. The check in staff was indifferent and inhospitable. The shower backed up and left brown debris all over my feet. Horrible experience.
Review 77:Location and the restaurant staff were stoic but so very efficient.
Review 78:Location and the Staff, absolutely first class
Review 79:Very helpful staff. Excellent location. Good food. Nice area for young children.
Review 80:Payment 4 parking
Review 81:I liked the breakfast, space in the room, very gentile staff.
Review 82:Room was a little bit too small
Review 83:Located in the city center. Antique dining room. Silent and comfortable room
Review 84:Friendly staff, spacious rooms
Review 85:nothing actually
Review 86:- swimming pool area
Review 87:Rooms, old and small
Review 88:Location and pool
Review 89:A bit noicy – it´s an old building.
Review 90:Location. perfect combination – charming italian town and beach. Poolarea.
Review 91:We stayed for the location. We were there to visit family that lived nearby.
Review 92:Everything so please go on in the same way. Wonderful and friendly,
Review 93:I enjoyed everything about our stay and will hopefully be able to stay again.
Review 94:the pillows were so hard they threw my neck out, I had a migraine the last three days
Review 95:location was good breakfast was great
Review 96:The fire alarm turned on and it took more than hour to switch it off inthe middle of the night.
Review 97:Central location
