Reviews for Hotel I Somaschi

Review 1:Maybe just a bit too expensive if you go during the truffle festival in nearby Alba ( beginning Oct - Mid Nov ), which most people do.

Review 2:Amazing good food everywhere there and around. Wines do not even need mentioning. The best in the world in my opinion

Review 3:Stayed here a few times on visiting the area and always a great stay. Perfect location in the heart of Cherasco. Great to walk to our favorite restaurant La Lumaca!

Review 4:Wish we had arrived earlier to look around town and visit chocolate factory and shops

Review 5:Stunning building nice swimming pool safe secure parking for motorbikes, restaurant is definitely worth trying and good value for standard breakfast in vaulted cellar

Review 6:Breakfast was not so exiting.

Review 7:Beautiful place. Good parking place. Nice staff. Very nice room. Large. Good aircondition. Good bed. Very nice bathroom. Restaurant was closed the day we were there. Oh yes, there is also an outdoor swimmingpool. Would like to visit again. And Cherasco has some very good restaurants. Also some cafees. A quiet town. Wonderful and typical Italian wine town. Fantastisc wine area.

Review 8:Cheap modern styled room (a triple on ground floor) clashed with the beautiful building. Our friend's double much nicer.Thought quite pricey (180 euros) Lack of attention to some details (rubbish by pool, ciggy butts all over room's terrace) for that price

Review 9:Atmospheric monastery, in beautiful small town. Outstanding dinner though not cheap (around 80 euros per head with average wine. Excellent service in dining room. Able to have our dog stay and friend's dog accompanied us to dinner!

Review 10:Great location and facility, the junior suite really made the trip feel special. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast downstairs instead of somewhere with a view was odd though.

Review 11:My daughter loves swimming in the pool, naturally we went to the pool and enjoyed swimming together, after 10 mins, I came to look at the pool inside carefully and very surprised. ..... it was too dirty. Room was beutiful but not better than pics in booking.com Parking and breakfast was okay

Review 12:The breakfast. The facilities are not well maintained. Couldn't control the temperature in the room and it was constantly set to 20C!

Review 13:The staff are amazing and extremely helpful.

Review 14:- It was very hot weather but the pool water was cloudy and didn't look very clean, so it was a bit disappointing. - You have to sign in to the WiFi using a username and password everytime you return from leaving the hotel. Both of those things said, I would still rate this hotel 10/10 as both of those things can be easily improved.

Review 15:- The hotel is a former monastery with so much charm! - Upon arrival we were offered an upgraded room for free. The suite was large and beautiful with a high, decorative ceiling and a view of the center garden of the monastery. Just beautiful! The suite does not have air conditioning (unlike the classic rooms), but they gave us a fan, which worked just fine in keeping us cool in the hot weather. - The staff members were very friendly and super helpful. - The free Turkish hammam in the hotel was great and relaxing to use. - Cherasco is a charming little town. Make sure you visit a store that sells "Kisses of Cherasco" and a little boutique store named Borra.

Review 16:Breakfast could be more varied, particularly if you plan to stay longer than a few days.

Review 17:Received free upgrade to a more spacious suite. Staff very helpful. Good facilities, including outdoor pool and hammam. Free parking and Wi-Fi, breakfast also included. Excellent location: all you need is nearby.

Review 18:The bed of the junior suite was very small, there was an open shower. As a guest of the hotel we were not granted a table in the hotel restaurant and we were refused to have a look at the restaurant by the staff in a very rude. manner

Review 19:The location is very nice, on a hill overlooking the town of bra. The garden with pool was quite and peaceful.

Review 20:Gates to car park were always closed. Lift was gently slow as was the pace of life.

Review 21:Excellent receptionist Paulo he offered a good choice of restaurants all recommended. Excellent room 201, 2 x great shower rooms, sitting room with sofa bed ideal for children or snoring husbands. Fantastic views on 2 sides . Very good breakfast with a waitress who remembers your choice of coffee etc. We did not eat in as so much to choose from in Town. very good value and very close to the most fantastic scenery through Barolo and on south and back up to Alba. Fantastic wines.

Review 22:The personnel was very formal and it was a pity you could not sit on a terras on the patio. One could sit outside the back near the pool though.

Review 23:The entrance with the nice patio was very nice. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable.

Review 24:Staff was friendly and had no problem communicating in English, rooms were the largest during our travels in Italy and the bed was very comfortable. Absolute best breakfast we had...would have been incredible if there were hot eggs...but that is not the norm in Italy. Will definitely return if we are ever in the region. Check out the incredible church next store !

Review 25:Decor was a bit 'frilly' but some people like that.

Review 26:Almost everything.... the staff were very friendly and helpful... The room was very clean and co fortable... we even stayed an extra night. It had a nice breakfast.

Review 27:Nice historic building in a charming historic town, beautifuldecoration. Breakfast is nice. I got a special offer and paid onlyeur75.74 For a Sunday night, that really more than worth.

Review 28:Everything was good!

Review 29:Is a very charming hotel...the decor is awesome! I also enjoyed the location which is very close to every wine region in Piemont. 20 mins from Barolo, Alba, etc...

Review 30:Limited storage space for clothing (no drawer) No lighting on the desk (I had to use a side table for writing). No space to put utensils around the sink.

Review 31:Kind and helpful staff. Cleanliness of the room. Good showering facilities.

Review 32:Parking and access is a bit complicated. It was not helped by the snail festival which was due to start within 48 hours and there were tents on some of the streets. A sign directing you to the parking gate would help a lot.

Review 33:The hotel has amazing style. The room exceeded expectation and both size and facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The town is a hidden gem. We spent 2 hours walking around. Well spent time.

Review 34:I was very disatisfied against Booking and against the hotel. It seemed I had booked a double room but for single use! So I had to pay supplements. Booking should improve the visibility of this non-logic option and the hotel should have warned me when arriving, not when leaving. I'd appreciate a comment from Booking

Review 35:The lack of a restaurant in the monastery, notably the cellar is a wonderful place for it... (only used for breakfast now..)

Review 36:Everything! Will return...

Review 37:Breakfast selection was a bit odd and items were not replenished. Restaurant was not open.

Review 38:Lovely spot at the edge of an historic town but very close to city amenities. Beautiful architecture. Very clean and quiet rooms.

Review 39:Unfortunately the pool was being renovated - so no swimming.

Review 40:The staff were fantastic - the rooms lovely and it was just wonderful to find this little gem of a hotel in an historic building. We loved it!!!

Review 41:detail look at the room shows some wear out

Review 42:Charming environment , design rooms, garden, friendly and helful personel, convenient parking, reception recommended very good restaurants, very well working WiFi, fantastic breakfast room

Review 43:The breakfast need to be at same level as the hotel and the room

Review 50:The Bed was to hard.

Review 51:The restaurant was shut on The Monday we were there

Review 52:Great location, facilities. furnishing and the spectacular setting

Review 53:hotel is average, good for overnight for tasteless travelers. poor management. nothing unique from the great Piedmont area

Review 54:location building price

Review 55:Fine hotel with a great restaurant in a charming updated monetary in an interesting town

Review 56:Nothing

Review 57:Everything

Review 58:Excellent staff. Perfect location. We will be back !

Review 59:No teas and coffees in the room.

Review 60:Beautiful setting.

Review 61:People. Had argument with my partner and staff were extremely helpful and tactful in finding her additional room and letting me sleep late.

Review 62:The Breakfast was not satisfying, but got some better the next morning, but still not impressive.

Review 63:Impressive exterior and a great view from the rooms, which are large enough, and very clean. OK Bathroom. Reception people were kind, and reacted very fast on a small complaint we had on the room.

Review 64:Very hard bed made our stay a bit uncomfortable. Only toast at breakfast and no other type of break or rolls. There were weddings during our stay but ended before evening so there were not so disturbing.

Review 65:Great location and view, large rooms well furnished. Breakfast with large selecton of food.

Review 66:Breakfast was not fresh; the breadrolls and the fruit in the fruitbasket were old and should have been thrown away several days ago. As they organise weddings from time to time, it is wise to check before going there if such a party is going on during your stay.

Review 67:The location is perfect as the hotel is at the outer border of the citycenter and you walk right in Cherasco from the hotel. Parking is easy. The building itself is wonderful! The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The staffmembers were very friendly!

Review 68:In our room with two large beds, one of the beds was on a lifted first floor in the room. The aircondition was not able to cool that high so that part of the room was very hot.

Review 69:Excellent hotel in a fabulous location. The old monastery is beautiful, the rooms are very good, the facilities are extraordinary and the staff is very friendly. Excellent value.

Review 70:A beautiful building and a staff that went out of their way to give us a suite when we only reserved a regular room.

Review 71:very friendly and helpful staff wonderful town beautiful building clean confortable breakfast

Review 72:It was a little bit quiet in the week we went

Review 73:Nice room Lovely view Great breakfast Nice Staff

Review 74:Can't control the air conditioned individually from the room

Review 75:The atmosphere is charming. The coutryard is unique.

Review 76:great location in the very beautiful and peaceful village of Cherasco Located in an old monastery Great design of the room

Review 77:The technical maintenance could be improved.

Review 78:Well renovated old monastery, spacious room and swimming pool.

Review 79:Loud air conditioning

Review 80:Nice design with loads of character.

Review 81:Location, style, comfort
