Reviews for Seashells Yallingup
Review 1:The front staff very stern. No pool, Supposed to be 4.5 star??? Yeah right. Very Limited reception hours. Only token complimentary coffee tea then you have to pay?! No room service. No room servicing unless you pay more or stay 6 days. Pay pay pay!! Tourist trap!! Very expensive to start with.
Review 2:Lovely location
Review 3:Very nice property with big gardens, very relaxing atmosphere. Big room with fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dryer, nice balcony overlooking the gardens
Review 4:Bathroom amenities could be improved. Not a proper reception. No on site facilities like cafe or pool though caves hotel can be accessed. Beach is not as close as they state it but still accessible
Review 5:Spacious apartment, with fan, AC, great balcony and good amenities for laundry and using kitchen
Review 6:Broken door that wasn't fixed in the 5 days I was there. Not a problem but thought they might at least come and look at it.
Review 7:Great location, comfortable
Review 8:Didn't like noise from Caves Hotel .. music etc .. Just a personal preference , not a negative criticism . Windows very soundproof though Fridge basic! I prefer to have a freezer
Review 9:Accommodation excellent Facilities good Gardens beautiful Plenty of towels
Review 10:Bed was rock hard which given how lovely the apartment & furnishings were was strange & very uncomfortable. Another negative is that there is no real ammenaties (pool, leisure options) for the price of the accommodation
Review 11:Beautiful place, great location, good privacy despite how big accommodation is. Beautiful parrots came to perch on the balcony each afternoon & fed from my hand gently, it was a huge treat
Review 12:Great location, beautiful garden view from balcony and easy walking distance to beach. Very comfortable beds and living area. Busy time of year so expected a bit of noise from Caves House but it was great sitting on out balcony listening to the live music.
Review 13:Nothing
Review 14:Everything we wanted in the rooms. Big balcony, lovely gardens to look at and lots of birds to watch and listen to. Breakfast hamper generous and delicious.
Review 15:Very expensive for a dated room with uninspiring decor. Staffed only part time. No room cleaning for short stays.
Review 16:Excellent location in the heart of Yallingup adjacent to the local pub and a short and scenic walk to the beach.
Review 17:The bed was a bit too hard !!!!
Review 18:In great location, walk to beach and didnt need to use the car if you dont want to. Good pub next door and local shop for deli, paper, milk ect.
Review 19:Single bed mattresses were quite hard, not very comfortable to sleep on.
Review 20:Wonderful location, grounds were beautiful, great sized accommodation, great bathroom, super comfy couch and short walk to the beach!
Review 21:Really uncomfortable pillows
Review 22:Great location with spacious apartment and fantastic balcony. Next to the Caves house hotel so can always get a meal and often has live music which you can enjoy from the apartment. Beautiful deep bath
Review 23:No window in bedroom. Bed room dark and had to open big window to air at night and were on ground level. Next time I would ask for a balcony on first or second floor.
Review 24:Location, roomy apartment, parking, beautiful gardens.
Review 25:Salt and pepper shakers in the kitchen would have been great.
Review 26:Loved the size and comfort of the apartment. Comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen and laundry. Balcony overlooking the garden was delightful. Friendly helpful staff
Review 27:The location of Seashells Yallingup! It is so close to the beach, just a 10 min walk, through their beautiful green gardens, down a quaint bush track and you pop out at the beach front. Right next door you have the lively Caves house, which is a great place for meals at any time of day. In saying that, the lively pub, you can't even hear from your room, so no risk of noise complainers. Also just a short drive to Caves road, to head down towards Margaret River, or just as easy to head north to Dunsborough. Smack bang in the middle of everything. We really enjoyed it.
Review 28:Room could have had better lighting. Also, why put a mature couple ( in their 60s) upstairs closest to the pub where bands played? There were other spare rooms. We were also locked out of our room twice when the key card was demagnetised. Staff we spoke to on the phone after hours the first time and the second time at the resort implied that it was our fault by placing the card next to our car keys or similar. We had not done this and I think it was a stuff up internally.
Review 29:Very spacious room well appointed with a comfortable bed. Good quality curtains.
Review 30:Paying $10 for a change of towels/sheets a little excessive.
Review 31:Impressed with the lovely spacious rooms, the many facilities for those who wanted to self cater. For those who didn't the availability of the Caves hotel next door and a general store for supplies. Our much travelled overseas guests were most impressed with the high standard of accommodation and lovely surroundings. Thoroughly enjoyed an Aussie BBQ - all requirements provided including a very clean, well maintained BBQ- whilst enjoying the garden and bird life.
Review 32:I really liked the size of the rooms, plenty of room for us and our grown up son. Beautiful gardens, within easy walking distance to beach, shop, hotel, cave etc.
Review 33:We were upgraded upon arrival which was a lovely surprise and staff were very helpful as we had a little baby with us and required a porta cot and high chair. We received both promptly. Loved our stay definitely come again.
Review 34:Leaving - you always want to stay longer!
Review 35:Location so close to the beach in Yallingup is superb, just a 10 minute walk away. Set in beautiful gardens with the iconic Caves House pub and hotel right next door. The rooms are well appointed, and we were upgraded to a deluxe room for our stay.
Review 36:The only problem was finding the place. The signage is not easy to see and wee missed it a couple of times. I was using a Garmin GPS and it had the locations of Seashells at the car park on the cliffs out of Yallingup.
Review 37:Ambiance, quality and comfort was excellent. Wish we could have stayed longer,
Review 38:The pillows were too high.
Review 39:I rated the location as excellent because that was the case for us. If you want to be in Yallingup then the location couldn't be better. We had a wedding on Caves Rd, so again it was a great location. Beautiful, peaceful & quiet property with friendly, helpful staff. Room was spacious. Beware the swooping magpies at this time of the year.
Review 40:Only 200mb per day free wifi and abysmally slow at that. My 3G connection was better. For the price we paid for the apartment, I would expect free wifi. Nice large tv. Only problem, the screen quality was terrible. No movies on our last evening.
Review 41:The apartment and location where lovely. Beautiful grounds
Review 42:We were upgraded to a ground floor Spa suite, it was wonderfully appointed - even with a half dishwasher. The furniture, linens etc were all top glass.
Review 43:Our one bedroom unit was well designed and equipped (stove, microwave, multi channel TV etc), with a private balcony overlooking lovely gardens; perfect for our quiet 2 night getaway. We will definitely return for a longer stay.
Review 44:Confusing and complicated process for getting free wi-fi. Disturbed by guest in below room complaining (falsely) we were flooding his room.
Review 45:Lovely natural location, clean modern room.
Review 46:We were a couple with an adult child. I asked for an extra bed and the folda-bed provided was not adequate. I don't like the louvres between the bathroom and the bedroom. Lack of sound and visual privacy.
Review 47:The master bed was very comfortable. The balcony The grounds The Pub for meals next door
Review 48:Arrived late afternoon so not much time to see the property but it looked lovely. The room was so large and comfortable only wish there had of been a room free to stay another night
Review 49:The fan in the bathroom could not be turned off - a little noisy only.
Review 50:A very well maintained property with lovely gardens. Our accommodation was very comfortable and spacious with kitchen and laundry facilities. There were televisions both in lounge and bedroom.
Review 51:A large apartment nestled in a beautiful garden setting. There is a track that takes about 10 mins to walk to the beach. There is Caves House next door which was great for a drink and dinner. Yallingup is about a 10 min drive from Dunsborough where there are plenty of shops. Plenty to see in close vicinity-beaches and wineries.
Review 52:That I didn't have the time to stay longer!
Review 53:Seashells is beautiful, comfortable and well located. What stood out is that the staff were really accommodating from reception and management to ground staff. Mix of friendly professionalism. Looked like they wanted to be at work. Very nice.
Review 54:the fact that I had to get the caretaker to come and get me got the booking off on a negative footing. It was due to the fact that my booking had not worked well on booking.com
Review 55:the location and the gardens and the room was terrific
Review 56:Great location, clean room and lovely peaceful well kept gardens. Good parking for cars and liked the lift so we didn't have to carry bags up and down stairs.
Review 57:Very very comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Also convenience of Caves House for a drink, plus a local deli onsite. Short easy walk through the gardens to Yallingup Beach.
Review 58:Foul smell from laundry drain but fixed quickly
Review 59:Unit was comfortable and nice to have birds and rabbits so close when outside on the patio. Spacious accommodation with upgrade
Review 60:So relaxing, beautiful area, close to everything you could want. Our apartment was very comfortable, large, had a beautiful outlook & very clean.
Review 61:It would be nice if self-catering basics like paper towels, salt, pepper & oil were provided in the apartments! Having said that, the store on site sells all the basics so at least we didn't have to drive to Dunsborough to stock up.
Review 62:The apartment was well appointed, and the grounds were beautiful. This location was incredibly handy for attending a wedding at Caves House Hotel.
Review 63:My wife found the bed uncomfortable, however this is a common problem for her.
Review 64:The size and quality of the room. The grounds and outlook from the balcony were beautiful. We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Thankyou.
Review 65:The fire Alarm went off and we had to evacuate, there was no communication from staff if we could return to our rooms, or where the fire alarm had gone off. This was disappointing.
Review 66:Have never had to go out a buy milk or tea bags for a 3 day stay pretty mean
Review 67:The beautiful gardens and the birds that came each morning to watch us having breakfast also so close to some beautiful wineries will definitely be back for another weekend
Review 68:Sound was delayed relative to picture on all channels on TV
Review 69:Full kitchen facilities and lounge area available. spacious unit and beautiful outdoor bbq and gardens just outside at ground level unit.
Review 70:Bed was like a brick. I left my engagement earrings on the bedside table & sadly haven't been able to recover them even though I phoned within hours of checking out. Very disappointing
Review 71:Friendly staff, lovely setting
Review 72:No spa bath and having a coffe table outside instead of high table made having meals a little awkward, but these are only minor trivial dislikes and not a critism
Review 73:Convience to attractions, cable tv, modern decor, peaceful surroundings
Review 74:Limited dishes/ utensils for cooking. Lovely oven, no baking dish.
Review 75:Large room, super clean, nice views, great spa bath. Short walk over to caves house for dinner.
Review 76:Checked out leaving a toothbrush charger in room. Rang back 6 hrs later and staff showed little interest.Next day no answers and again little interest. Cost us $165 for new unit as charger not avail alone.
Review 77:Room is an apartment and is spacious. No meals etc available. Office staff aloof.
Review 78:Requested upper level room. But was given ground floor. Beautiful walk to town for coffee on a Monday morning. Couldn't find any place open.
Review 79:Peaceful. Quiet. Facilities. Walk to the beach.
Review 80:The bed was too hard for me but i know it wouldn't worry some people.
Review 81:Lovely warm room, comfy lounge and design layout. The lush gardens and walk to the beach.
Review 82:Drivers please be careful on the winding Caves Road. This picturesque road is a delight to drive but some treat it like a racetrack and some trees don't bend when hit!
Review 83:My husband and I recently enjoyed a mid week winter break at Seashells Resort. This resort is in a lovely setting at the head of a valley within sound of the waves rolling onto the beach at Yallingup. Guests can take a 10 minute walk down through the gardens, which have mature trees home to numerous birds, to the beach and also across these gardens to the nearby historic Caves House. A glass or two of Margaret River wine can be enjoyed by their log fire or on the terrace or back on your apartment balcony. There is also a nearby liquor shop and gourmet convenience store. Seashells is ideally situated giving guests easy access to numerous and varied attractions to suit the most discerning traveller.
Review 84:Noisy neighbours (playing loud music) on the weekend, and rules state this is ok until 10pm, at which time you get relief. Not pleasant.
Review 85:Good self catering facilities, and made some friends with the australian ring neck parrots who visited everyday.
Review 86:Everything. The location.the apartment, the attention to detail, the cleanliness, the ideal spot to tour the area, wineries scenery, the gardens of Cave House. All outstanding
Review 87:We were disappointed that the hotel wasn't running pizzas that weekend. Also that the fire alarms are too close to the hot plate and kitchen area.
Review 88:Love the units and the location.
Review 89:In the Studio, the combined spa and shower was very dangerous to enter or exit. In the 1 bedroom apartment, the toilet door was mounted too close to the toilet suite, making it very difficult to enter or leave the room.
Review 90:We ended up using both a Studio and a Superior 1 Bedroom Apartment, and in each case found the room, its facilities, and the outlook to be most enjoyable.
Review 91:We are a family with a three month old baby. We were looking to get away for a few nights and we thought where better than the Yallingup region of Margaret River. The Seashells resort was perfect for us. It's location allowed for walks in the beautifully maintained gardens and to the beach, a simple 10 minute meander. The food in the local pub was excellent, matched by the service by the staff. The rooms were very clean and tidy and had everything we required for our stay. (We took our own bassinet). If you are looking for the food and wine experience of the region, Seashells is perfect. I would fully recommend this hotel everyone and we will be back!
Review 92:Room is not really a studio just a hotel room. No way of having even a picnic. However it does not pretend to be anything else and we still had a perfect stay.
Review 93:Loved the helpful relaxed staff. Room was everything you needed. Balcony was a genuinly lovely bonus. Being next to caves house is so handy for meals and drinks etc.
Review 94:200 meg of WiFi. Its definitely not enough for more than 1 person.
Review 95:Location is in middle of the town. Nice parks . good for young families. Bathroom is clean and big TV.
Review 96:The one bedroom apartment.could have benefited from a conventional oven to give more options for preparing own meals.
Review 97:The fresh clean apartment was just what we wanted with everything you need to relax and unwind!
Review 98:For a selfcatered appt i would expect some proper pots and pans to prepare a meal, this was below the 4 star standard (on the contrary there was a Smeg combi, this is very 5 star, so quality of amenities not consistent). Also we needed more towels (only cleaning twice a week, should be more often)
Review 99:Location is good (although the Cavrd house hotel neighbours can be very loud). Appts are spacious.
Review 100:Only criticism was shower leaked badly and created a lot of water on bathroom tiles which was dangerous.
Review 101:Beautiful well equipped modern apartment looking onto lovely gardens and right next to Caves Hotel for some great pub food with a lot of atmosphere. Short scenic walk to Yallingup beach made for a relaxing and enjoyable 3 night stay.
Review 102:The property was well presented. Grounds were beautifully kept. Walks from the location spectacular. Adjacent hotel most convenient for meals. Lift essential but would definitely stay upstairs next visit if available.
Review 103:Wifi was awful. Had to stand a door of apartment to get reception. Wifi is very important these days and was the big thing that let the unit down. Beech is not a stroll away unless young and fit so we drove and it was lovely.
Review 104:Good location, large spacious apartment with all amenities (a clothes airier would of been good).
Review 105:For the price, some ground coffee would have been nice. Long distance from coast. Only buffet breakfast on weekend.Average view.
Review 106:Short walk to store.
Review 107:A little noisy next to the pub at Caves House and Breakfast is also at Caves House
Review 108:We only stayed a night over busy Easter weekend, but they where very pleasant to us on arrival and upgraded us to a massive suite overlooking the garden.
Review 109:Spacious, luxurious and modern appartment in peaceful surroundings.. Good location from which to explore the Margaret River region and numerous wineries.
Review 110:The beds were a little hard but I guess time will soften them
Review 111:Loved the quiet convenient setting near the beach and in the bush. Close to everything we wanted to see and do. The best minestrone soup ever!
Review 112:The only issue with my stay was the bed. I really couldn't sleep well because of the super hard mattresses. Apparently they are brand new and need to be more used. Or maybe it could be that it's a bad investment
Review 113:Property is very well maintained, the grounds as well as the well equipped apartments - and all in great working order. It's a pleasure sitting on the balcony and watching and listening to the birds singing. TV in both bedroom as well as giant TV in living area were a hit with the kids. We also liked to have the Caves Hotel/Pub with next door which make the place a bit livelier.
Review 114:The bed was very, very hard (almost unbearable to sleep on, actually!) and I also did not like the way there was no actual doona cover but just a sheet that was slightly covering the doona. I thought this was perhaps a little unhygienic, to have the doona uncovered like this.
Review 115:The facilities in our one bedroom room were great, nice to have access to a laundry with washer and dryer on holiday, kitchenette was good and bathroom was nice too :)
Review 116:There is a total lack of commitment to making sure the hotel /resort what ever you want to call yourself offers a top class service to clients I arrived at 9 am to a facility that was in darkness no staff no key and confusion as i thought this facility was part of the wonderful caves house It is not It is advertised as if it is and uses caves house as a leverage to get people in You cant find the office as its tucked away and the lock box was not accessible There is no well designed arrival area or signage For a facility that is suppose to be first class id say it was well below standard The beds are like planks of wood
Review 117:Yallingup area so convenient
Review 118:No bad experience.
Review 119:We were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment 107 that was simply beautiful with everything we could want. High standard of cleanliness. Bright, airy, modern spaces and tasteful decor. Fantastic central location to explore. Adjacent gardens of Caves House and walk trails to caves or beach an added bonus. Helpful friendly staff. Was sorry to leave. Would love to go back again.
Review 120:Some items of clothing were left by the previous guests in the bedside table that had not been cleared out.
Review 121:The balcony overlooks the gardens of Caves House and provides an excellent spot to relax and take in the serenity of the setting. Good spot to explore the Yallingup/ Margaret river region from.
Review 122:Shower leaked water, needed a rubber strip on bottom of shower door. Bathroom floor saturated, dangerous when using loo.
Review 123:Surroundings and decor of apartment.
Review 124:Although we had a studio room we would have liked basic appliances such as microwave and toaster. Bathroom had no adequate ventilation so you had to leave door open when showering.
Review 125:Spacious balcony overlooking lovely gardens. Close to beach with a short pleasant walk.
Review 126:Loved the location- did day trips covering most of the South west. Caves hotel offered entertainment and value for money meals. Seashells was comfortable and provided very easy self catering facilities. A very good holiday spot.
Review 127:Quite a walk to nearest beach, pool would be good facility for guests. We weren't affected due tou our timing, but proximity of one end of Seashells to CavesHouse when there is live music or a function could be annoying.
Review 128:Very helpful staff all round, helped us relocate to self catering apartment with no fuss.
Review 129:Our room was right next to pub.... Very noisy... Even wrecked our afternoon drinks and nibbles on the balcony. Would request room further away next time
Review 130:Pretty gardens, room was nice :)
Review 131:There is only one staff in reception and reception is closed at 5pm.No help to your room on arrival. There are extra charges to have your room serviced and wifi.Wifi is terrible.
Review 132:The room is nice and the view is beautiful.
