Reviews for Hotel Palma
Review 1:The breakfast was not at all satisfying. No warm food like eggs. Only a lot of low quality pastry! The juices were awful too. Fruits were picked of the lowest quality almost rotten! very dissatisfied.
Review 2:The location and the view of the roof top was amazing.
Review 3:On the last day we were presented with a bill. We made the payment, as we were walking out the receptionist called us and said we still owe more. Stating they had made a mistake without explanation. To avoid embrassement we made the payment of additional euros and moved on giving a poor impression. Of the country. The bathroom gave odour of sewer.
Review 4:The lady receptionist was very helpful. Roof terrace was beautiful. Staff was very helpful.
Review 5:The only thing was the bed was very hard some people like hard beds we don't and found it hard to sleep at night
Review 6:10 min walk to the ruins across the road from the train station, staff very friendly and helpful
Review 7:Wallpapers loose from walls. Towels worn out. Cables and stand from old tv installation still on wall. Cleaning poor. Not a four star hotel.
Review 8:Breakfast good. Close to the ruins.
Review 9:Only slight negative was the breakfast. Quite a small selection available but I'm just being picky.
Review 10:Weren't really sure what to expect having read some of the reviews but we had no complaints. It isn't your typical run of the mill chain 4 star hotel. It's quaint and particular. The location is great - just a stones throw away from the Pompeii ruins and close to some lovely restaurants. Staff were absolutely amazing! Very friendly and helpful. Lovely little roof terrace with a hot tub and sauna. Couldn't ask for more. We'll definitely be back!
Review 11:Loved our stay at hotel Palma , Friendly staff, easy to talk to, went over and above to accommodate you, easy access to Pompeii ruins , and opposite the main train station, roof top views are amazing from this hotel. We would stay here again .
Review 12:Nothing comes to mind
Review 13:Giuseppe's warm welcome, staff friendly and always happy, they will arrange anything you want to make your stay and excursions better and with ease.
Review 14:The shower was a hand held outlet in the bath.
Review 15:The staff went out of their way to help and the owner/manager was very welcoming. I'd stay here again when I'm next in Pompei.
Review 16:Access was bad if you had your own car. Sometimes the staff were off but never new why.
Review 17:The breakfasts where nice and staff helpful most of the time. All round rating it's a hotel used to see pompai, Capri, surreptitiously and around.
Review 18:The bathroom was a little shabby and could do with a freshen up. The breakfast wasn't varied enough and the coffee was appalling
Review 19:The hotel is in an excellent location to explore the lovely town of Pompeii and the ruins
Review 20:Breakfast was quite basic but decent croissants- had to ask for tea or cappucino- not offered.
Review 21:great location, 5 minutes to entrance for Pompeii ruins and centre of town to find great restaurants.
Review 22:Nothing major. Rooms modernised but showing age a little Small Bathroom
Review 23:Friendly & helpful staff Good Breakfast Everything worked Good central Location for visiting Ruins
Review 24:Perfect location to visit Pompeii and conveniently located beside one of the train stations. We were made to feel very welcome. A beautiful hotel including the accommodation with air con. Restaurant and drinks available. The roof top terrace is splendid with views over Vesuvius. Tour pickup and drop off available.
Review 25:Staff were super helpful & accommodating upon check-in. The room facilities were good, shower bathroom area, comfy bed. It has a shutter blind that can be pulled down to exclude sunrise light, which I particularly liked. It is extremely close to Pompoi train station, which again I liked.
Review 26:No bad points
Review 27:Nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Made our short stay in a good room a pleasure. Only a short walk through a town square and down a shady street full of ice cream shops to a main entrance to the ruins.
Review 28:Bathroom amenities only had shampoo, no body wash or conditioner, which you would expect in this standard of hotel.
Review 29:Fantastic location, easy walk to main sites, restaurants etc. Lovely relaxing roof terrace for evening. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 30:Although this hotel is, indeed, across from one of the Pompei trainstations, it is the most minor station in town and fiddly to get to.The general manager, a woman whose name I do not know, told me that headsets would be available at the nearest entrance to the ruins, so I was at that entrance when it opened, only to be told that headsets are only available at the Porta Marina entrance on the other side of town. By the time I had walked all the way there, the line was long. I could have been there much earlier if she had provided truthful information. Further, as I always request no service in my hotel rooms because I value my privacy, I put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door. When I returned to the room, the maid had been there, moved my things, removed my once-used towel, made the bed, etc., and left the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the desk. I took the sign to reception, where the manager was smoking and talking on her cell phone (clearly a personal call), and she made me stand there and wait until she felt like breaking away from her call. I held up the sign and asked her, politely, if she knew what it was for. She looked like a deer in the headlights and did not answer for quite a while. She finally said, "yes" but she clearly did not know. When I explained the reason for my displeasure, she shrugged her shoulders, said "sorry", and resumed her phone conversation. A man in the lobby who is associated with the hotel in some way that was never clear, remarked to her, "She's just tired", and they laughed, unaware that I speak Italian. In summary, very unprofessional management and poorly trained maids.
Review 31:Decent, clean room, lovely rooftop terrace overlooking Mt. Vesuvius. Mayactually be about the best hotel Pompei has to offer. The breakfaststaff were extremely nice.
Review 32:There was nothing to dislike - we got just what we were expecting
Review 33:Guisieppe the receptionist was excellent. When emailed about which railway station we needed, he immediately replied with full details of which train we should get and where to get off. He was professional and charming, as were the dining room staff. The location was ideal for visiting Pompeii, Herculanium and surrounding area.
Review 34:Very little atmosphere. Poor choice of room service food.
Review 35:Well located close to Pompei ruins and train station. Jacuzzi bath lovely after a day walking around Pompei.
Review 36:We found the corridors a little noisy from early in the mornings......6am onwards with the hotel staff but no big deal.
Review 37:We used the Palma for a weekend city trip. The staff gave us a lovely friendly welcome. Our room was very clean and luxurious, good wifi connection. When ever we needed help with directions or other information the staff were very knowledgeable and willing to help. The hotel was great value for money and sits right behind Pompei's fantastic church. the ruins are a 5 min walk away.
Review 38:The bathroom was wacky, not much water pressure and the sink was poorly attached tot the wall. Wifi was absolutely worthless, except during night time. And the breakfast... more the ten types of home made cakes, but poor choice if that is not your piece of breakfast cake... Some people brought their own cerials.
Review 39:The location on walking distance of Pompeii and the station. We could park our car for free in front of the hotel. We had a spacious room and overall our stay for two nights was pleasant. But for a longer stay there were too many "buts"
Review 40:- Wi-Fi was non-existant in the room. (Reception only) - The toilet made a very loud annoying noise after flushing. - I couldn't lock the room door, i did report to reception but it was never repaired. Had to lock all valuables in the safe.
Review 41:- Great Location, bars and places to eat a short walk from Hotel. - Very friendly staff. - Upgraded to the roof level and it was a lovely room.
Review 42:Our room didn't have a shower. The hotel is a long walk from the railway station on the Naples-Sorrento line. Audio guides to the Pompeii site are only available at the main entrance, a long walk from the hotel, so although we got into the site quickly, we then had to find our way to the main entrance before we could understand what we were looking at. Breakfast was included but was of poor quality, including stale pastries.
Review 43:The hotel is beautiful, located near the Piazza and its very beautiful church and within easy walk of one of the entrances to the Pompeii site. It is also over the road from the railway station on the line for Naples (but not Sorrento). It has a lovely outdoor rooftop lounge area, which we made use of in the evening.
Review 44:breakfast was very poor. selection was limited. rated as a 4 star hotel but food let it down so I would say it was a 3 star
Review 45:hotel clean and most staff friendly
Review 46:leaving
Review 47:in the heart of pompei great staff lovely room parked my classic car right outside very friendly made a suprise cake for wifes birthday when asked to chill our champagne to sit in hot tub later after dinner superb loved it the view from our balcony was mount vesuvious as was from the lovely roof terrace
Review 48:Nothing
Review 49:Location 20 meters from the rail station. A 15 minute stroll to the entrance of Pompei Pompei is a lovely friendly town. Great little restaurants nearby. Great views from the rooftop garden, including Vesuvious Lovely italian breakfast. Our room had no views but was tastefully furnished with a great bathroom.
Review 50:The bathroom is a little old and needs attention as the shower doesn't work very well.
Review 51:The hotel is located right next to a train station and one of the entrances to the ruins is closeby. The town centre is close so you get a choice of restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hot tub on the terrace was the perfect way to relax tired muscles after a day walking around the ruins.
Review 52:Didn't have a shower just a bath with a hand held shower head so you have to lay in the bath to have a shower. Bed was rock hard, tv was smaller than a computer monitor, towels were like sandpaper.. Not a suite at all.
Review 53:We stayed in the suite, it had a really nice balcony with view of Vesuvius.
Review 54:Noisy location in early hours of morn... Even with all windows and doors closed.
Review 55:Gr8 location Lovely roof terrace with bubble pool Clean rms Well maintained hotel
Review 56:The breakfast was very poor, stale cereal, left in display bowls all the time, hard boiled eggs on the first morning only, then no eggs at all, no hot choice, just very sweet cakes, a little cooked ham and processed cheese, no bread for toast, watered down orange juice, all in all very disappointing. The towels on a couple of occasions were threadbare and the rugs in bedroom were a hazard. Parking outside was problematic, on two occasions we were asked to move our car due to a wedding! On a Sunday and Monday? Turned out the owner just wanted space for himself, he did a great deal of shouting!
Review 57:The location near the station and the cathedral, a few shops and restaurants nearby. The lobby gives a good impression and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable.
Review 58:There are few rooms that have no balcony and hardly window. Wifi is very slow. Breakfast is like many italian hotels: limited and mostly sweets. The bathroom had a bath in which you shower but no shower curtain
Review 59:Location is good. We had great room with double balcony one of which gave view to Vesuvius. Personnel was very friendly. The roof top terras with jaccuzi is a treat!
Review 60:Nothing except that the carpet in the lift is slightly smelly and needs to be changed. Also while not really important for us it may be of concern to others but the street can be noisy but only if the windows are opened.
Review 61:Excellent staff, very courteous, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent. Right in the centre of town and within walking distance of Pompei Ruins. Just across the street from train station which takes you to Heraculaneum. The rooftop garden is amazing with jacuzzi.
Review 62:Great location, easy access to the ruins. Hotel is the best looking one that I saw in Pompeii. Right opposite a train station, but if travelling to Sorrento, you will need the other train station that serves Pompeii (its about a mile), likewise the bus from Naples airport drops you at the further train station. Roof terrace has a great view.
Review 63:No balcony in our suite and a very small shower.
Review 64:Opposite the small station, Pompeii Central, that comes to/from Napoli (there are 3 train stations in Pompeii). 8 mins walk to a minor entrance to Pompeii site thus avoiding queues and tour groups at main entrance. Fantastic roof terrace which tremendous view of Vesuvius. Staff were great. Communal parts are very elegant given the price of this hotel
Review 65:Perhaps they only try to be four star no really getting there. Small town four star, that´s why the price/quality seems to be so greit.
Review 66:Cosy. In the center of a genuin Italian town. One could think this is in the middle of the tourist area, but no.
Review 67:Victoria, one of the staff members, was marvellous and very helpful.
Review 68:Hotel a little old
Review 69:The staff helped out a lot, allowing us to late check out in order to vist the roman ruins in a relaxed manner.
Review 70:The rooms smelled of old cigarette smoke.
Review 71:Location was excellent, 5 minute walk from the Pompeii ruins.
Review 72:Smart hotel friendly staff and very well located for pompeii

Review 77:On street parking only although it was right outside the hotel.
Review 78:Excellent hotel, the staff were very helpful and attentive.

Review 95:No proper shower. Wifi not good
Review 96:Staff friendliness and assistance. The location in the town and to Historical Pompei. The small size of the hotel made it a cosy stay.
Review 97:The rooms were not clean - smelled very bad ; the breakfast was very poor and the table cloths were dirty. The wifi didn't worked at all .
Review 98:Wi-Fi was not working. Rooms do not have any windows, so do not choose this hotel if you want to have some daylight.
