Reviews for Hotel Diana

Review 1:Nothing.

Review 2:Perfect location off the main autostrada, thankfully limited our driving in the crazy roads of Pompeii. Parking lot was nice to have. Small yard for my dogs to run around. Video cameras on property made us feel safe and that our car would be secure. Great staff, super helpful. Room was average italian size. Breakfast was a typical italian one, fresh, and staff was attentive. Location to main square was perfect, so many restaurants and bars nearby. We loved this place! Located near two train stations for quick access to sorrento and naples. Quick drive to Mt.Vesuvius, bus options available if you don't have a car.

Review 3:Receptionists were very helpful during my stay. Everyone was so smiley and nice. Hotel is located in the central of Pompeii therefore it was convenient for me to explore the area. Also there are nice bars and restaurants next to the hotel.

Review 4:Breakfast was basic but still great nothing bad

Review 5:Everything was really lovely we managed to get wifi in our room even though it is only meant to be in public areas was really great

Review 6:Hotel Diana is in a great location for train travellers, only a couple of minutes by foot from the station, and an easy walk to the excavations Convenient and quiet for a town centre as there was no through traffic. The welcome was very friendly as were all the staff we encountered. It is a typical family run establishment, very clean and well cared for, Everything was in good working order and the.Internet connection worked perfectly. The breakfast was good and as you would expect from this standard of hotel. All in all very good value and hard to fault. There are a couple of really good restaurants nearby and several bars.and cafes to choose from..

Review 7:We were in a room up front and it was a bit noisy.

Review 8:The staff was very helpful the hotel was in a great location. We had local vine in the garden patio. Breakast had a large variety of goodies.

Review 9:No bad experience so.

Review 10:The staff were very helpful with any question that Art or I came up with. The breakfast was very good, also. I would book there again. Robert

Review 11:The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The breakfast buffet was good - a wide variety of drinks including Italian coffee. We went off-season and got a great price.

Review 12:we liked it's close location to the ruins and the very friendly atmosphere, all of the staff were very cheerful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

Review 13:Fantastic value - clean, spacious room. The terrace out the back was a lovely place to enjoy the autumnal sunshine while the kids amused themselves on the swing.

Review 14:Little hard to find on side street. Wifi not reliable in room. Breakfast lacking protein sources.

Review 15:Easy walk to Pompei archeological area. Parking on site. Helpful staff. Excellent restaurant nearby. Comfortable bed and room. Adequate breakfast choices and excellent wait staff.

Review 16:The breakfast was a little small and simple. Also we asked for bus information from the reception staff and got different information both times, neither of which was actually correct, which rather ruined our morning!

Review 17:The rooms were very modern and nicely decorated. The outdoor terrace for drinks was just what we needed after a day trekking around the Pompeii ruins.

Review 18:Breakfast was adequate but always the same thing every day. The American coffee too weak.

Review 19:Front staff very helpful. Free parking. Close to National rail station.

Review 20:Great location, very close to the train station and then an easy walk to the ruins and town square. The staff were very friendly and helpful pointing out the best places to eat as well as other sites to see.

Review 21:The outstanding and exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They could not have done more to make our stay a happy and successful experience. They were always prepared to "go the extra mile" to comply with our wishes and requirements.

Review 22:Located very close to Pompeii train station ,and the centre of town . Also ,walking distance to the ruins . Good staff Good breakfast . All in all a good choice .

Review 23:Nothing to report

Review 24:The hotel is really nice, clean rooms, nice furniture and bathroom, very quiet and with A/C. The garden is wonderful and cozy, the staff very friendly and professional. Breakfast is more "Italian style" than "continental breakfast" but it was good.

Review 25:Wi-fi is good only at the lobby. I stayed in 2nd floor and hardly connected the internet. Breakfast is basic.

Review 26:Hotel is located near the train station. Easy to reach anywhere in Pompeii. Hotel is clean. Staff is really helpful.

Review 27:The beer served was not cold but helped sort it as best they could. No real problem as they may have stocked the fridge earlier.

Review 28:Service was friendly and extremely helpfull. Clean and well maintained hotel with a great Resturant around the corner. Wifi works fine in the court yard with a great glass of local wine....enjoyed. We would stay again if back in Pompie

Review 29:Ideal place to stay for visit to Pompeii and other sites in the Naples bay. This Hotel is very close to one of the Pompeii rail stations but it was only after visiting that I understood it was the station on the main railway system from Naples to Salerno and not one of the 2 Circumvesuviana lines which are both around about a half mile away - a nuisance with large bags. The Hotel was clean, friendly with helpful staff and very good value for money. There is no dining but it was very easy to walk into town with lots of choice. For us it was ideal, good standard but simple hotel in the correct vicinity.

Review 30:wifi did not work for i phones room a little bit dismal and in need of a face lift but clean good bathroom

Review 31:helpful friendly staff pleasant area very convenient for station and autostrada for airport excellent restaurant 50 metres from the front door

Review 32:Breakfast is basic but given the room rate still amazing value

Review 33:Second stay at Hotel Diana and once again brilliant. Brilliantly located for the ruins. There are more restaurants and cafes in the area than there were two years ago which is great and the station is just down the road. The staff are super lovely and helpful, rooms are comfortable, Wifi good, breakfast just enough to equip you for the day (I actually can't believe how they do it for the price) and a lovely little courtyard to enjoy and Aperol after a long hot day at the ruins or climbing Vesuvius. I can't recommend this hotel more.

Review 34:Bunk beds for the children (top one not very safe for young child)

Review 35:The location is great (close to the site, close to the night life) The patio is a real bonus (to have a drink after a site visit or for breakfast in the morning) Having a parking for the car was also very handy

Review 36:the only comment i have is that the facility needs a bit of a facelift it is starting to show a little age here and there (shower enclosures etc)

Review 37:wonderful staff extremely helpful parking at the hotel!!!!

Review 38:The mattress on my bed was quite hard. Getting out of the parking space was difficult

Review 39:The staff were very friendly & very helpful. The outside sitting area was an oasis of calm in the centre of the city. The hotel is very close to the train station near Via Sacra & is only 10 minutes walk from the Amphitheatre entrance to the ruins. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:All staff spoke very good English and were so helpful even after leaving passports behind they held on to them for us ! Morning cappacino very nice! Nice garden for pre drinks !Proximity to Pompeii site in walking distance ! Fantastic restaurant around corner 3 mins walk Garram excellent meals and service

Review 42:gal at front desk needs to develop some tact and a friendly smile

Review 43:crisp clean rooms with an elevator. Very close to train station. Pompeii was extremely close.

Review 44:Picked this Hotel for its location to Pompei ruins which were approx 10 minute walk away. The hotel has a free car park nice garden and free wifi. The receptionist spoke very good English which was very helpful and the location has plenty of restaurants and shops.

Review 45:The bed was firmer than I am used to. But after a day of walking, and a relaxing glass of wine, I still slept very soundly

Review 46:Proximity to the ruins, we were able to check in and head over to the ruins after the crowds and heat of the day had passed. On site parking was plentiful and felt secure. WiFi was reliable and adequate speed (critical for my husband who had to telecommute to the US). The outdoor space was a peaceful place to unwind. We loved the bunk bed concept, with two teenage boys it really opened up the space and made it bearable having all 4 in one room. Morning breakfast was just enough to get a little something into our Timmy's before hitting the road.

Review 47:The hotel sent a personal email with very detailed instructions on how to get there and what to do. This was a great personal touch that you don't get very often and was very helpful too!

Review 48:Included breakfast passable by European standards (but great by North American "continental breakfast included" standards).

Review 49:Very close to train station. Easy access to ruins.

Review 50:Easy walking from stations, Pompeii ruins and town centre. Places to eat nearby. Really helpful staff and a garden to sit in with a glass of something. We liked it that we could book a trip up Vesuvius at the hotel.

Review 51:Not a complaint but perhaps a little more choice at breakfast, maybe yoghurts/toast etc.

Review 52:Everything. The location was great, the hotel was very clean and tidy. The staff were amazing, especially Nadia. Very friendly and willing to help.

Review 53:Incredibly friendly and helpful staff (sent directions ahead of time detailing how to get to the hotel from Naples). Made a solo traveler feel very comfortable. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was a great deal.

Review 54:-Not enough sockets in the room - weird locations (some were so high we couldn't reach them) -Room was basic and quite small for a group of 4 people

Review 55:-Friendly staff -Nice breakfast room and variety -Big bathroom -Location was convenient. 10 minutes walk through town to the ruins

Review 56:Room was cold, no control over heat Noisy pub across street Thin room walls you can hear people and toilet next door, and hall traffic (ask for a an upper rear room)

Review 57:Location Price

Review 58:No toaster at breakfast. Breakfast was very continental.

Review 59:modern hotel, very close walking distance to Pompeii ruins, really good bathroom and shower. Good sized room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Easy check in. Receptionist was very polite and helpful. Happy to arrange taxi to Naples airport.

Review 60:This is not close to Pompeii scavi train on circumvesuvina line. The Pompeii train station only has buses

Review 61:Newly renovated hotel with good location to Pompeii ruins close to Pompeii station. Nice continental breakfast

Review 62:Tiny bar area with limited drinks/food service (except for breakfast which is very good) so if you want to eat and drink, you'll have to leave the hotel (not a hardship though because Pompeii has lots of restaurants, bars and ice cream parlours!).

Review 63:Modern, spotless hotel (I would say 3 Star +); well located close to station, town square and Pompeii ruins; lovely helpful staff (on Reception - thank you Nadia and Denise - and for breakfast service). Great value for money! We would go back. TRAVEL TIP: We were going to stay in Naples and get the train to Herculaneum, Pompeii, Vesuvius and so glad we didn't! Stay here instead and use the train to explore the coast either way towards Naples or Sorrento. Pompeii is a major town in its own right with a fabulous church & tower, lots of restaurants and nice shops.

Review 64:The staff at hotel Diana are so welcoming and very knowledgeable about the city. They were always at hand to help. The hotel was cosy and tidy. Highly recommended.

Review 65:The English girl is not nearly as pleasant a front desk clerk atRaefella was. Rooms are small, my feet were in the shower whilst on thetoilet. Ruins entrance a brisk 25 minute walk minimum. Noisy at night.

Review 66:Walking distance to Cathedral, shops and restaurants close by, safeplace to park your car if you're driving. Ruins entrance are a bitfurther than advertised, like at least a half hour. The Italian younglady that works at the front (Raefella) was extremely pleasant, andhelpful. Rooms are clean, but small. Breakfast decent

Review 67:Breakfast was basic but nice. Would benefit from a variety of meats on offer perhaps.

Review 68:Staff friendly. Good location being near to train stations, historical sites and shops.

Review 69:What's not to like when everyone you are in contact with is extremely pleasant and helpful and your room is as clean as can be!

Review 70:The staff was superb! They went out of their way to print directions to our next destination, answer any questions, recommend options, and help us park a "larger" car. Breakfast was very good and our room was spotless. The restaurant they recommended at the end of their block was fabulous! After a "dusty" day in Pompeii, they hosed down our car the morning we left..a real treat!

Review 71:The mattress on the bed was very comfy but memory foam that got very hot.

Review 72:The welcome we had was superb. We were very tired and were directed straight into the very pleasant garden for a refreshing coffee. Any queries were dealt with efficiently and advice and directions were freely given. Breakfast was plenty. All staff very polite and helpful. Close to train stations

Review 73:Poor in room wifi,

Review 74:Hot water and lots of it, great location waking to sounds of chickens and ghe locals tending their gardens, big balcony lots of room

Review 75:We slept well, the room was a good size and clean, good breakfast, nice central location, but my best impression were the staff, who were always friendly and very happy to give advice. We would certainly recommend Hotel Diana.

Review 76:The beds are way too hard, we woke up every day at 5 or 6 am by the people in the room above us because they dragged the chair across the room which sounded like it was in our room or by the people next to us when they peed or showered. Very annoying. Breakfast is not good. Too many sweets and carbs and could be fresher. AC didn't work, remote of TV didn't work.

Review 77:Mostly friendly staff who speak English, restaurants and sights are very close. They have a nice garden where you can sit. Wifi was ok. We had a porch and the entire hotel is very clean.

Review 78:We picked this hotel as being close to the train station but it was actually not the correct station for the ruins or for the train to sorrento which was our next destination. Our mistake but it ended up being not as convenient as we hoped

Review 79:We only stayed one night purely to go to the ruins the next day and move on. Staff happily looked after our luggage for the day.

Review 80:The staff were remarkable. Helpful pleasant and eloquent. Superb value for money. Perfect location - close to the centre, to the train station and to the ruins. Free parking on site. Nice neighbourhood. Good breakfast with wonderful music playing....

Review 81:We had 4 nights in hotel Diana Pompeii recently and loved everything about it .. the staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The location is great .. just a short stroll to the ruins or the train station to get to Herculaneum and there are plenty of options for restaurants or interesting little shops .. all in all we had a great stay here.

Review 82:Nice places for dinner close by. 5min walk to train station 10/15mins walk to Pompeii ruins Reception were very helpful giving me train times to ercolano. No wifi in rooms, but available in garden area Free drink on arrival whilst we waited for our room to be ready

Review 83:FFSS train station less than 5 minutes away (should get you in and out of Naples (but when we were there in October 2014 it was not an option because a house fell on the track.)

Review 84:The hotel is in a great location (follow the directions to the hotel that they provide and you will not have any issues finding it.) While it accommodations are basic, we spent such little time in the room. It has air conditioning, a small tv with a handful of channels, the room is a nice size with plenty of storage for luggage and a little desk, and a nice size bathroom. Everything is clean. They provide a continental breakfast in the basement (fruit, ham, cheese, pastries, etc.) It is about 5-10 minute walk to the Cicumvesviana train, there is a FFSS train station less than 5 minutes away (that should get you in and out of Naples (but when we were there in October 2014 it was not an option because a house fell on the track.), about 10 minutes to one of the many Pompeii ruin entrances.) The bed is firm (typical European bed – which is how we like it). It was a great sleep for us! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!!! Highly recommend and would stay here again!!!

Review 85:The hotel is within walking distance of the ruins, shops & restaurants with free parking on site.we had a room with private patio away from smokers!! Very pleasant & helpful staff and would definitely recommend.

Review 86:Hotel orginised a guide for Pompei and although not the the hotels fault the guide only did 1.5 hours of our guided tour that was ment to be 2 hours.

Review 87:Close to Pompei Could leave my car there the next day while visiting the ruins.

Review 88:Basic hotel in a good location in Pompeii. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Fairly easy walk to the ruins. Very close to an excellent restaurant, recommended by the staff. Close to the city center.

Review 89:There were very many mosquitos, our daughter got 26 bites. Our room was wheelchair accessible which made the bathroom extreemly uncomfortable especially for children. The ladder to the bunk bed was unstable and scary. There was constant traffic noise.

Review 90:The location was nice, very close to good restaurants. Very nice garden in the back and convenient parking. Staff was nice and helpful. Good espresso.

Review 91:No warm food at breakfast

Review 92:Easy walking distance to public transportation and the archeological site. Quiet and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 93:Very close to Trenitalia Pompei station. This place is a gem. It is spotless, modern, five minute walk to the ruins and has a good breakfast The young staff speak English and it has a large lift.

Review 94:There was a little noise from other rooms but it did not spoil our stay at all.

Review 95:The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. They were available 24 hours a day and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was well designed and had everything needed for our stay. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Review 96:The location was excellent and close to the station/bus stop and Pompeii ruins. Hotel staff were courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and the wi-fi was fast. A basic breakfast was included in the the tariff. Good value for money.

Review 97:Wifi didn't work in rooms, quite noisy at night from other guests with loud tv, trips offered very expensive so we did all ourselves

Review 98:Friendly staff, clean rooms with balcony, garden area and very close to centre, nice restaurants, free parking, reasonable breakfast

Review 99:Small room

Review 100:Hotel Diana was a great little hotel in a good, quiet location . This was a good value for money. Good parking and lovely back garden. Room a little bit small but comfortable and very clean.

Review 101:Hotel is very clean and has very beautiful terrace. The staff is very nice, helpful and speaking English very well. The breakfast was the best we have had in Italy.

Review 102:Nothing - the hotel is lovely to stay at and they are good value for the money.

Review 103:Staff were very helpful and friendly and helped us with booking a private tour guide for the viewing of the Pompei ruins. The staff went out of their way to be of assistance in everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Review 104:Parking was tight, hard to enter and leave car park, definitely need another person to give directions to get you in and out without scratching the car.

Review 105:Good location, although the GPS had trouble finding it. Clean spacious room with onsite parking. Good breakfast, helpful staff, a good hotel and good value for money

Review 106:Nothing !!!!

Review 107:Hotel in a great but quiet position. Easy access to the ruins and train station for getting about the area. Hotel staff very helpful. Very clean , would stay again.

Review 108:We liked the relaxed and calm atmosphere of the hotel - the garden area was lovely to come back to for a drink after a day out and our family room was a good size. We found some great restaurants very close by. Above all the staff were very welcoming and friendly and more than happy to help out with requests for information. We are very glad to have chosen Hotel Diana!

Review 109:Could have done with tea & coffee making facility, but this does not detract from a truly great experience by any means

Review 110:The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are super and extremely comfortable. Super in-house bar, (open to 12.00), nice comfortable breakfast area with super outside gardens, cant wait to return, 5 starz all the way !!!!

Review 111:I've stayed in economy singles many times, but this was a squeeze even for a slender guest. The breakfast isn't health conscious, juice that's 15% actual fruit juice, lots of fatty cheese and lunch meats, croissants and jam. I'd bought a picnic dinner the night before and had yummy leftovers at brkfst. The night (male) receptionist doesn't want to move from his desk. When I called from my hotel in Roma to ask him to locate the adaptor I'd left in the communal area - five steps from where he sat - he told the receptionist in my Roma hotel "He was busy, he'd look tomorrow." Adaptor was located, still waiting for it to arrive - mailed two weeks ago.

Review 112:Well informed staff, specifically Nadia: she steered me towards a small, charming family-run food emporium (macelleria++) when I was starving, and I ate like a queen back at hotel without waiting for restaurants to open. My 2.5 kg Japanese Chin was welcome. No extra charge. Lovely garden area, also a terrace on my floor. Great location, easy walk to Pompeii excavations. Staff provides maps, guides guests towards local sites/restaurants ~ same as you'd expect in a major city. Cleanliness: pristine. Cozy communal area for laptops, drink at reception bar; instead of a frigobar in room, guests can store foodies in hotel fridge. Hotel Diana does very well with the resources available.

Review 113:We stayed at hotel Diana for 2 nights when visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum. Location is perfect, walking distance from the Pompeii excavations, and the private parking is safe and convenient. Very nice garden at the back where they serve drinks. Breakfast was sufficient. The rooms were good and comfortable enough. The airco worked perfectly (once we discovered that the window has to be closed for it to turn on...). Staff was extremely kind and spoke English very well.

Review 114:Single room is too small (really too small!); Breakfast staff not so nice as reception staff; Poor breakfast selection - variety should be improved

Review 115:Location, Reception Staff

Review 116:Glass bottles being binned by restaurant down the street in the early hours - not the hotels fault!

Review 117:A lovely hotel in a lovely town. Pompei is a real Italian town and not full of tourists as Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast Will return some day.

Review 118:Not a criticism of this hotel but Pompeii is all about the historical site. we travelled here from Sorrento and stayed for 3 nights, however with hindsight I would have preferred to have stayed in Sorrento and travelled to Pompeii.

Review 119:Staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Hotel is clean and well decorated. Breakfast is served in the basement, and is fairly typical of this region. Great if you have a sweet tooth. Our bedroom was number 5, and has a little patio to sit out on for early evening glass of wine. Can't fault this hotel. Well situated for Pompeii relics.

Review 120:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very good location to the center of town and the ruins of Pompeii. My family and I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Diana. Thank you.

Review 121:The rooms didn't connect, but that isn't something we commonlyfind in Europe.

Review 122:Able to accommodate our large family. Free, secure parking on site.Complementary wi-fi. Outdoor area for our children to play after a longcar ride. Excellent breakfast spread, our children especially enjoyedthe pastries. Close to the ruins.

Review 123:The area was sketchy -one wrong turn had me down some bad alleys (not a negative to hotel just a fact)

Review 124:Great working air conditioner, comfortable beds and loved bathroom/shower. The young lady at night was super helpful and suggested restaurants to have dinner at and they were good.
