Reviews for Mantatelurè

Review 1:Poor evening light, not equiped with a decent armchair or chair.

Review 2:Staff, House & room style/decoration, location, parking, bed. And again, staff (Marta).

Review 3:Lovely courtyard which is extra special given the central location, enormous beds and super helpful Marta in reception make this a great place to stay.

Review 4:The bed was new but not comfortable. Hard to find a complaint, really! Lecce itself, while architecturally beautiful, was a bit too touristy for us with not enough local people milling about.

Review 5:The architecture, design and renovation work were superb. Attention to detail was perfect! Quiet and very well appointed. Small, private and very soothing atmosphere with a beautiful courtyard and rooftop. Wonderful to sit outside at night and listen to the church bells.

Review 6:The lovely welcome we received upon arrival from Marta and her team, and the information we received about Lecce was very helpful. The ambience and relaxed atmosphere and of course the home baking made us feel truly spoilt.

Review 7:Road is not registered in all satnav's, so look it up on GoogleMaps before you go. It's easy to find once you know and well accessible from main access roads. Parking is not directly outside the hotel, but easily found a short walk away.

Review 8:Beautiful restored palazzo that is like a little oasis near the city centre. You are very well looked after by Marta and her team who are happy to assist in any way to make your stay comfortable. The city centre is easily accessible on foot.

Review 9:Great location and excellent staff. Very friendly & supplied a wonderful breakfast. Home cooked cakes were so good we had to get the recipe! Room was spacious and overall hard to find fault.

Review 10:Beware of the jaccuzzi! You are being charged a security deposit of EU300 for the remote that cannot get wet?!!! I had a surreal experience of turning on the jaccuzzi - and then the upper spouts spreading water everywhere - and not being able to turn it off. The remote did not work properly - or the signal is too low. We had to cut off the power in the room to stop the water fountains!!! Not the experience you'd like to have in the morning. The instructions do not say how to turn it off. Also - the check in time is too late - it is from 4 to 6, and the checkout is too early - 10:30 - so compared to other hotels you are loosing 2-3 hours of stay which is expensive and incovenient.

Review 11:The apartment was very comfortable and beautiful in its furnisings, lights, background music and location. The breakfast is one of the best I have had in Italy with very tasty cakes. I really lked the emphasis on local foods, and the attention and explanations from lovely Marta.

Review 12:Loved it all!!

Review 13:The property is gorgeous and extremely well taken care of. There is a tremendous attention to detail from the linens to the homemade cakes prepared on the spot. This property is a terrific oasis to unwind and relax after visitng the baroque architechture of Lecce.

Review 14:The staff was very attentive. We were made to feel at home the moment we arrived. Dinner reservations were made, directions and maps, local information, it was terrific!

Review 15:Absolutely loved staying there, arrived after a long drive and instantly felt at home, a dip in the hot tub followed by a large glass of refreshing prosecco, no even the occasional rain could dampen that

Review 16:The whole process from beginning to end was a pleasure because of a wonderful and efficient staff member, Marta. She handled dinner reservations,, suggestions of picturesque towns to see on our ride down to the bottom of Italy, helped with luggage and even, prepared delicious breakfast eggs. A pleasant and efficient young lady. A real asset to the hotel. When staying at the hotel it is obvious the owner of the hotel put a lot of thought into providing a tastefully decorated B & B with a beautiful garden area for relaxation. The junior suite was spacious, had piped in music, a station to charge electronics, fresh flowers and immaculate.. Houskeeping was wonderful. We loved Mantatelure. Grazie Mille to all.

Review 17:We had to ask for plates, glasses and cutlery. We didn't do any cooking but it would have been nice to have some wineglasses to drink the Prosecco in the fridge!

Review 18:Beautiful Décor, quiet location, very helpful staff and just a lovely place to spend a few days. Lovely quiet garden with comfortable seating and loungers.

Review 19:only disadvantage difficult to find need a map with more details as vital road had no name parking slightly difficult otherwise excellent

Review 20:beautiful hotel right in the heart of the old city excellent room limited facilities as B&B but had good breakfast in the garden

Review 21:It would have been good to have a full length mirror somewhere, and a few more hangers or a bit more storage space for clothes.

Review 22:Location, friendly helpful staff, lovely peaceful terrace garden, delicious breakfast.

Review 23:The kitchen was not well equipped. You had to request dishes as well as pots and pans. There were no towels provided for the kitchen. Don't attempt to cook until you have checked out the kitchen.

Review 24:Beautiful and yet functional. Spacious and roomy. Roof top deck provided for your convenience. 5 minute walk to the center of town.

Review 25:The room was a little claustrophobic and warm despite its beauty.

Review 26:The room and garden reflected excellent taste and creativity. The waterfall style shower was great, the breakfast the best of our trip, the garden was gorgeous and the staff were incredibly helpful including doing our laundry in a single day

Review 27:Couldn't fault a thing throughout our 4 night stay.

Review 28:The owner Marco and his right hand Marta went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The accomodation was extremely stylish and well appointed and very very comfortable. Breakfast was a dream of home made cakes and local products. It was like staying in a five star hotel with your own personal concierge service. A brilliant experience.

Review 29:Didn't stay long enough!

Review 30:A quaint and stunning B&B which makes you feel as though you've stepped back in time. Marta and Lia were great hostesses and very helpful when it came to planning day trips. Marco's baked goods at breakfast were absolutely decadent!

Review 31:We loved the design and privacy of the place. It is located in a quiet street in the historical centre of Lecce. The building is beautiful and materials have been chosen with great taste. The apartment we stayed at was really big and even featured a little terrace overlooking the street. The staff was very friendly and we didn't miss anything during our stay. Coming from the Bari highway, the hotel is very easily accessible by car and has parking options in the streets nearby. We liked that we didn't have to cross the whole city. From the hotel you reach many bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walking.

Review 32:This property is very, very memorable. The sympathetic restoration of a former pallazzo has resulted in comfortable luxury that was the highlight of our very wonderful week in Puglia. We stayed in a junior suite and loved every bit of it. The decor is warm, modern, and comfortable; it is obvious that careful design has been applied to every surface. We appreciated the overall design of this place and were impressed with all the unique touches like the dual shower, English-speaking TV channels, residential parking pass, and fruit smoothies after breakfast. Also, Lecce is the baroque capital of the area...we easily filled our three days here.

Review 33:Elegant setting in a completely re-purposed ancient setting. The smaller rooms are a good bargain...cozy but very well outfitted. Lecce is a walking town. The location is a five minute walk from the central square. The staff is very helpful (with good English skills) and are happy to suggest the best sights and restaurants.

Review 34:It was hard to find

Review 35:Our assistant booked us into Mantatelure' because she found it was number 1 in her search for our accommodations and it certainly was. The location in the old town of Lecce (once we found it), the breakfast selections and fresh baked sweets and the extremely helpful staff in the beautiful surroundings - all adding up to the number 1 B&B at which we have ever stayed.

Review 36:Bedside lights would have been useful

Review 37:Relaxing and very comfortable stay in a beautifully designed hotel. The lovely garden is the perfect place to have breakfast and rest after a busy days sightseeing. Very helpful staff and the perfect location from which to explore Lecce.

Review 38:We loved the hotel. Everything about it was perfect, from the location to beautiful decoration, delicious breakfast and lovely staff (especially Marta). A wonderful hotel from which to explore Lecce.

Review 39:I loved everything.

Review 40:Everything about Mantatelurè was wonderful. The design was beautiful with much thought and care given to every little detail. Very comfortable room, great bathroom, beautiful little courtyard garden, one of the best breakfasts I've had anywhere which also included a selection of some foods typical to the region. Martha was wonderful, in contact with me before I arrived and so nice and helpful while I was there. I can't wait to go back! Thank you Mantatelurè and Martha for such a wonderful stay in your beautiful city.

Review 41:Located in the center, quiet room, good bed, large shaded outdoor garden terrace where you can relax and have breakfast or just read a book, excellent breakfast

Review 42:not applicable, weliked everything

Review 43:the locatuion, the design in great taste, the tranquil facilities, breakfast, garden, enthusiastic, helpful and charming staff, and everything in this placespeaksof quality of five star hotels but with affordable prices

Review 44:room n°3 has a direct access on the breakfast room, so we couldn't sleep after 7:30 due to the loud conversations.

Review 45:the staff who was very helpful, the garden, nice room (although not very large) with good equipment (lights, wi fi etc)

Review 46:Marta the hostess and manager is superb! A great mix of friendly, helpful and business. The breakfast is one of the best in Europe! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Review 75:Everything was thoughtfully done to provide an excellent experience.

Review 76:Location, design, staff, breakfast, everything!

Review 77:outstanding b&b in great location

Review 78:A beautiful facility and great service. Staff was always helpful and provided great recommendations for enjoying Lecce. The location is in the Old City, and that is part of the appeal for us but may not be for everyone. It was tricky to find the first time, but after that exploring our way in to the central plaza was easy and worthwhile. A great base to explore Lecce and the surrounding area.

Review 79:I didn't have time to stay longer :(

Review 80:fantastic food! Wonderful location. Beautiful, stylish and tastefully decorated rooms with wonderful showers. Staff was exceptionally helpful. The cakes and breadfast treats were all homemade and excellent. I look forward to returning.

Review 81:Gorgeous property we had a beautiful suite and the common space was beautiful and a great spot to relax in outside. I loved the piped in lounge music in the garden! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the staff was superb! Marta and Francesca the two concierges were so sweet and very eager to help in anyway with local recommendations on restaurants and sightseeing nearby! We loved the city of Lecce and our stay at Mantatelure surely enhanced our visit to this gem of a city! We would definitely return just to stay at this wonderful property again and again and again!

Review 82:meat and cheese under same dome, not nice for vegetarians

Review 83:very smart and classy. very smart and knowledgeable staff. Marta and Francesca make it worthwhile.

Review 84:Nothing.

Review 85:The staff take great care to ensure your stay is comfortable and rewarding. Marta and Francesca at reception were extremely helpful and made many good suggestions of places to visit and to eat at. Mantatelure has been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and our bed was extremely comfortable. The courtyard is a lovely place to eat breakfast in or relax in. At night it is quite magical. One of the best places I've stayed at.

Review 86:Our room was next to the kitchen and we could hear breakfast being prepared in the morning.

Review 87:The staff were friendly without being intrusive. You felt that nothing was too much trouble. They were always on hand to help.

Review 88:No complaints...Everything was perfect!

Review 89:The staff is amazing, Marta and Marco were great hosts, making us feel at home...delicious breakfast with homemade cakes!

Review 90:Everything about this stay was absolutely wonderful. Marta handles every detail perfectly. Marco made homemade tarts that were outstanding. The decor and room was as nice as we have ever stayed in and the gardens were beautiful! Perfect!!!

Review 91:Wifi was hit and miss in so far as speed/ functionality. Our room was excellently decorated but lacked sufficient space for a comfortable chair. A wider choice of breads/rolls at breakfast would have been nice but otherwise it was all very clean and fresh.

Review 92:Period building which was extremely thoughtfully modernised at obviously great expense. Owners eye for detail was evident everywhere you looked. Owner and staff were most helpful in every regard with an enthusiastic friendly demeanour. Located in the historic part of Lecce, it was a brief walk to the central attractions and perfect to walk off an evenings entertainment.

Review 93:A bit of noise from the street, unavoidable due to the very central location

Review 94:I enjoyed the homy atmosphere, the elegants details, the Charming decor! Beautiul traditional Lecce's palazzetto transformed in a chic b&b! Lovely garden and patio!

Review 95:That I stayed only one night:(

Review 96:Elegance, sophistication, stylishness, perfection, refinement, design, attention to detail, hospitality, are just a few words that can describe this really exclusive bijoux-hotel. Mantateluré is located in the old city centre but far away from the nightly uproar and yet within walking distances from all highlights, discreet and refined. Simply class! Marco has done a fantastic deco-job with a fantastic combination of materials, i.e. old wood with glass, colours… and he also makes tasteful cakes. It's one of the rare moments in my travels that I regret for my short staying in a hotel.

Review 97:Charming B&B in a beautifully restored and decorated 16th century home in the city, within walking distance to all of the old city sites. The young woman who manages the property spoke very good english, and was very cordial, knowledgeable, and professional.

Review 98:We loved staying in this beautifull hotel. Marta the and Marco the owner made us fell at home. The comfortable and luxuriouse suites were a supreem joy.

Review 99:just beautiful! an oasis of refinement and good taste. every aspect was beyond expectations and a total treat. the owner and staff are so charming and warm.

Review 100:every thing was great. The hotel has a great location. The rooms are very nice. The food is very good and Marta-the receptionist is wonderfull and very helpfulll e

Review 101:This was a wonderful experience. Right in Lecce's beautiful old town, the hotel was perfect for us. We had been travelling through Italy for three weeks and welcomed its stunning terrace, beautifully appointed rooms, exquisite breakfast, friendly staff, its airiness, charm and cleanliness. We'll go back some day for a longer stay. Thank you Marta.

Review 102:There was nothing that I disliked about the hotel.

Review 103:The hotel is situated near the centre of old Lecce and within walking distance. I have never had to use a fob key to gain admittance to a hotel before but there was that attention to detail, which was a theme throughout my stay. The hotel only has 6 rooms. so the number of guests is small and personal. I was very impressed with the personal touch from the management. It is not a hotel for families, but ideal for couples enjoying a romantic break.

Review 104:the fact that rating is still 9,8 after quite a relevant number of reviews says it all. perfect restoring, perfect decoration and combination of materials, plenty of luxury details, central location, very nice attention from its owner Marco and his team, delicious breakfast, exclusive internal radio. Plus Lecce is such a beautiful city! Dont miss Mantateluré.

Review 105:Beautifully designed and very comfortable, in a quiet area of Lecce but within 5 minutes walk of the main sites. Charming and helpful staff and owners. Fantastic breakfast in the courtyard garden. Perfect and we will return.

Review 106:Mantatelure was an absolute pearl of our 2013 trip to Puglia. There is nothing better than after absorbing the atmosphere, the light and spirit of Lecce, you come back to Mantatelure to relax in a beautifully designed and equipped suite either in the jacuzzi in the garden, sipping prosecco. Marco, the owner and designer of the premises, knows all best places to try local food, and will give you great hints about the city's best spots. Marta, the manager, is a charming and very helpful host. Marco and Marta create an unforgettably welcoming feeling to be at home, thanks to them everything gains a personal touch. This historic building is converted by Marco with a great attention to details and with a care for guests comfort. Modern design, authentic materials (pietra leccese stone), luxurious fittings, music in your room (and bathroom), great breakfast served in the garden, make Mantatelure one of the prettiest places to stay. Thank you:)

Review 107:Late check in time and early check out (10:30)

Review 108:This place is really nice, clean and cosy. Amazing patio and interior design. Friendly atmosphere. More than you can expect from b&b!

Review 109:Mantatelurè is a wonderful place to stay in Lecce, just inside the old town in a quiet part of the city and on walking distance of everything you would want to visit. From the luxury in the room to the inner yard where you have the excellent self made breakfast it's an excellent choice and good value for money!
