Reviews for Casa Scaparone

Review 1:Casa Scaparone was a magical experience. The Italian hospitality was warm, relaxed and jovial. The local home-style dinner was organic and excellent. The gnocchi was the best I've ever had. Breakfast (fresh fried eggs cooked with white truffle oil) was made to order by our host. My new husband and I were transported to a whimsical country house where everyone treated you like visiting relatives and time stood still so you could relish the sunset. The revamped 11th century room was clean, rustic and cozy. The views were as amazing as the locally made wine. I wish we'd had more than one day at Casa Scaparone and cannot wait to return.

Review 2:The wifi was flakey in our room.

Review 3:The staff were super friendly and happy to give advice about what to do in he region. They made us feel at home. The location is serene with breathtaking views of the landscape.

Review 4:We really enjoyed our stay and the very kind hosts. The food is excellent (I like the combination of modern and traditional cuisine) and the place is beautiful we will hopefully visit again soon.

Review 5:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Scaparone. Our room was great with old world charm but with modern convenience. We had four meals and all were very good. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. A special person we got to know was John Carlos who arranged for a truffle hunt, but moreover introduced us to local friends in the wine and bakery business. He took us to places only a local would know. It was great being with John, Renata and Gigi (dog). John Carlos was more than a tour guide, he became our friend, and if we were family we could not have been treated better. One morning John Carlos even cooked us eggs with the truffles found the day before…molto bene! I would highly recommend Casa Scaparone if you are ever near Alba in the Peimonte area. You won’t be disappointed.

Review 6:with all your electric equipment/batteries, just one socket is a little short.. - wifi was not ideal in the room; yet another reason to stay on the terrace..!!

Review 7:great atmosphere, extremely relaxed, nice room, very friendly service, you feel welcome/as if at home. Just 10 minutes away from Alba, it is a little bit of heaven in the countryside.. Nice possibility to have dinner on the premises. With summer's temperatures, just enjoying doing nothing.. -You don't need more !!

Review 8:The whole setting and ambiance was exciting. Detailed attention to everything: food, guests, comfort, activities, the houses itself and the courtyard and ofcourse the lovely (antique/alternative) furniture and decoration including nice smells from sticks. And: as cute and attractive as it was, it was totally wheelchair adapted and accessible

Review 9:There's a churchbell that goes off at night, which could wake you up if you are a light sleeper.

Review 10:The staff is always very friendly and up for a chat. They gave us useful tips (boccondivino in Bra, monforte, banco del vino in pollenzo) Room 1 was quite nice and colorful. You can enjoy the small library at the first floor. Nice views and quiet during the day. Overall good quality agriturismo. Generous food portions in the restaurant.

Review 11:Nil!

Review 12:Not easy to get there.... but once you get there you don't want to leave! Charming place, perfect service, very accommodating proprietor, food is OMG, superb! What's not to love!

Review 13:smallish car park.

Review 14:We actually stayed in the four poster bedroom as seen on website. Plenty of room. Peaceful and very clean. The owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Not a pizza to be seen. The gnocchi and blue cheese sauce was to die for. All locally produced produce including the wine. Breakfast in the courtyard listening to classical piano music looking over the rolling hills of vineyards. So peaceful and relaxing. The casa has been lovingly and quirkily restored. We stayed for 5 nights and toured around the area. Tuscany without the tourists.

Review 15:That we only stayed one night!

Review 16:The friendly Staff The owner Battisa who plays and sings! The food & wine! The fantastic old house with fantasic rooms! The location with wine yards all around the hotel. John & Paula

Review 17:Everyone at Scaparone was so warm and friendly. We looked forward to the great food and wine every night - the menu was amazing and especially the vegan menu. There was music on several nights which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was an unforgettable stay.

Review 18:A beautiful setting and introduction to Piedmonte. I would highly recommend the experience of Casa Scaparone to travellers looking for a unique and soulful stay.

Review 19:Nothing of significance, although it would have been nice to have had air conditioning.

Review 20:We loved everything about Casa Scaparone - its quirkiness, its atmosphere, its restaurant, its staff (although unfortunately we never met the owner). If you're looking for somewhere with real character in Piemonte, this place is a must.

Review 21:Nearby church bell ringing on the hour and half hour 24 hours/day. That was common in all locations we visited in Northern Italy, though!

Review 42:this is the most wonderful trip I've ever and ever had! we were traveling by car just to have fun in Piemonte and we were trying just to look around. At our 1st night we've stayed there and couldn't leave it for several days because of: 1) nice and wonderful people who're working there (Owner and his family, who are at the same time is the greatest team i've ever met in my life) 2) wonderful location. its very easy from Casa Scaparone o get to the cities like Alba, Asti, Turin and all famous outlets where the shopping is super 3) Owner, who is genius (plays music, works in the garden, has a huge farm and works there just for fan and because he is absolutely happy person and a very great man indeed) can advice you really good places to visit like local vinery houses, restaurants, vinery bars and other wonderful places 4) Casa Scaparone has a really spectacular restaurant where chef Franka (incredible Woman) is happy to serve you wonderful and tasty dishes of national and local italian dishes 5) incredible interior design Strictly recommended for people who are looking for good atmosphere, nice service6 goof location and good prices (but there it doesn't matter)

Review 43:The lodging was unique and in the gorgeous wine hills of Alba. The staff was friendly and amazing and the food was good as well! I highly recommend staying here!

Review 44:nothing, but understand this a charmingly rustic Italian experience..not 5 star (yawn) fancy

Review 45:This agriturismo is the definition of Charm!!! Lovely large inviting rustic courtyard to drink wine, surf the internet, soak in the atmosphere and scenery..delightful dinners, very kind staff..couldn't ask for a more delightful experience

Review 46:Welcome greeting, ideas for more visits - to the close by biodynamic vine producers from grapes also from their farm...if you want to have a feeling of being transferred to epochal place/yard/ of dances in a village sqare as from the movie" Captains Corrado mandolin " you should choose a place...and lovely local food restaurant !!!! You should go there for dinner even you stay in other place overnight !!!!! And their own wine !!! Nebbiolo was excellent !!!!

Review 47:The hotel was beautifully scenic, the family room was spacious, comfortable, clean and rustically chic! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we had a delicious home cooked dinner with excellent wine. The breakfast as also delicious with lots of choice and all this for a very good price.

Review 48:The website (and booking.com) led us to believe that at least some of the staff would be able to speak some rudimentary English. Nobody was able to speak English at all, which made for some difficult conversations and a bit of confusion. The chef could speak French, so we were able to glean some useful information from her after she was coaxed out of the kitchen to help us!

Review 49:The buildings and grounds of Casa Scaparone were fantastic. Immaculately furnished, their attention to every detail was extraordinary and it made for a beautiful experience. The food was fantastic, as well.

Review 50:Picking hotels off the internet always carries some risk, but this exquisite B&B exceeded my expectations by far. Very helpful and accomodating staff. Wonderful old farmhouse, renovated with modern conveniences, with a totally charming ambience. A world unto itself but only a short ten minute drive into the center of Alba.

Review 51:too much heating during the night, meal price results quite expensive if you drink else from what they serve
