Reviews for Masseria & Spa LuciaGiovanni

Review 1:My only comment on a practical level is that the rooms were very dark. I like to have a light at least where I can make up properly. I imagine this adds to the wonderful atmosphere of the hotel and rooms but perhaps other guests feel the same.

Review 2:I loved the overall ambiance and the charming, helpful staff. It is very different and a perfect place for adults looking for a bit of luxury and indulgence. The restaurant was really very good and the breakfast a feast. The pool is superb and the comfortable loungers around are a treat.

Review 3:Room and especially the bathroom quite dimly lit. Bathroom floor concrete rather than tiles.

Review 4:Pool, spa, restaurant, service, atmosphere and location. Our waiters were extremely friendly and helpful. The head of reception polite, friendly and helpful.

Review 5:Breakfast till 10am is a bit "early"

Review 6:We had a fantastic time at Masseria LuciaGiovanni because everything was simply perfect: location, very friendly stuff, delicious food, cozy rooms, amazing pools and special Arabic atmosphear... I would come back here thousand and thousand times again!

Review 7:I would say that there are only a few improvements that could be made. It would be nice to be able to have cocktails served at the bar. It would also be nice to have bigger towels in the bathrooms. Our shower was also quite dark so would be nice to have more light in the shower room, especially when putting on make up.

Review 8:The hotel was the perfect place to relax and unwind with a very clam atmosphere. The facilities were excellent. The breakfasts and food in general was of a very good quality and very generous portions. We had a room with a private terrace which was beautiful. Overall a great vacation!

Review 9:Better hire a car - we relied on taxis to get around because there is no nearby bus or train - this was inconvenient

Review 10:the hotel is beautifully designed, great style the staff are wonderfully helpful, attentive, friendly the style is highly individual - no hint of corporate glitz the food is brilliant the pool is heaven, with plenty of space, no fighting over sunbeds

Review 11:wifi very poor and only available right next to reception area gym very run down, no air con or even a fan, no water or towels permanent music broadcast on a loop so very repetitive location is not as rural as might expect - is on outskirts of Lecce close to blocks of flats. Once there it is a quiet oasis but not quite the Masseria experience expected

Review 12:pool

Review 13:The wifi range is limited sometimes, but then again, this place is intended to help you relax and detach

Review 14:This hotel is an oasis and perfect place to relax

Review 15:Continuous new-age music at the swimming pool Monotonous and too expensive menu

Review 16:Breakfast is very good and healthy Room is very comfortable Private garden is nice and cool

Review 17:The swimming pool is opened to public (for a fee) so there was quite a crowd on Sunday (actually no place)! Breakfast could use a few more low-fat options... there are just too many cakes!

Review 18:The hotel is great, with a wonderful huge swimming pool. The restaurant is quite good and private sauna is excellent!

Review 19:We went in May which was a quiet time. Mohammed one of the waiters was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. It was a very relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and tidy. The pool area was amazing and at night the fire lit in the courtyard was a nice touch. I would recommend a stay here.

Review 20:We spent a lovely week at the Moroccan style Masseria LuciaGiovanni. If you like to relax in the Apulian countryside but still be close to the sea and the city of Lecce - then it is the perfect place. The host makes you feel at home and all the staff membrrs are outstandingly friendly, helpful and sympathetic. Makes one hestitant to leave the gates of the masseria. We loved the place and would return anytime. Thanks very much to the whole crew for a wonderful week. Ask for a nightcap at the fireplace in the courtyard.

Review 21:The squash court was not open and this wasn't notified to guests in advance. Judging by the damage to the floor of the court this will not be open until it has been fully refurbished.

Review 22:Arriving at night we enjoyed drinks around the hotel's fire pit in the courtyard. The staff were very helpful at all times and the room (a junior suite) was luxurious and beautifully themed in the Moroccan style of the whole hotel. The spa was small but very pretty and the outdoor pool huge and surrounded by day beds.

Review 23:The only thing was the lighting in the bathroom...not strong enough

Review 24:The atmosphere of this maroccan style Spa is truely magical and relaxing. The staff is cordial and attentive to your needs...and my dog too was treated with great affection...which i appreciated very much!

Review 25:It is about a 30 minute walk into town at a reasonable pace, so perhaps not suited for those who prefer a very central location or who can't walk far or don't have a car.

Review 26:The spa was lovely, food was great and staff were helpful.

Review 27:Nothing really, but the decor is Moroccan, which is at first a bit disconcerting when you are in southern Italy.

Review 28:The staff were very friendly and the food excelling.

Review 29:The dinner was a bit bland. They should keep the Moroccan theme with some spicy exotic food but instead they just have very bland Italian food. If the dinner was better this would be hotel of the year.

Review 30:Atmosphere was very relaxing. The place is wonderful, the spa is excellent and the staff are very nicely mannered. The decor is out of this world.

Review 31:Spa is minimal and under utilized. Warmer water in indoor pool area would be nice. Racquetball court should be repurposed.

Review 32:Outdoor Pool Grounds Staff

Review 33:No bad experience, just pleasent times

Review 34:The welcome and kindness of staff

Review 36:I had to return home :(

Review 37:The whole lot - could not and did not have one complaint - amazing trip, amazing staff. Amazing facilities!!!

Review 38:Everything. Friendly, beautiful and fab location.

Review 39:Rooms very dark and impossible to see in bathroom. Dark bed linen and towels .arabic about decoration not to our taste

Review 40:Pool

Review 41:Terrible breakfast - stale bread, other than cakes, no choices. Boring atmosphere Outdated

Review 42:The room was a bit small

Review 43:The pool

Review 44:lovely pool and welness area excellent hotel for a relaxing stay beautiful style and setting

Review 45:Relaxing. Looked after by staff. Lovely pool convenient for lucce and surrounding area

Review 46:hotel, staff

Review 47:The fabulous style - the lovely helpful staff sitting by the open fire looking at the stars

Review 48:Bed could have been softer.

Review 49:Spa was very relaxing. Turkish theme was cool.

Review 50:Leaving was the only thing I didn't much like :)

Review 51:privacy, calm, staff, food, facilities, location.

Review 52:The space, the privacy, the very attentive DNS friendly staff

Review 53:The masseria is in an impossible location outside of Lecce. It has dark, dirty rooms with completely shaky furnishing. The food was miserable, for dinner as well as breakfast.

Review 54:Only few people there, location near blocks of flats, darkness of room, breakfast items not covered so wasps all over food. Had to go hunting for staff if wanted a drink around the pool. The place felt a bit grubby and abandoned.

Review 55:Daybeds around the pool.size of the pool.

Review 56:The design of the bathroom needs to reviewed. We had a problem with the drain in our shower which flooded our bathroom. Since the floor was concrete it stayed wet all evening making it a bit uncomfortable. I reported it but it was not fixed. In addition the raised vessel sink seemed to be off center and if you did not use full water pressure the water spilled out on to the vanity. The second night our faucet leaked would not turn off completely and since the vessel was not positioned properly the water soaked the vanity. There was not sufficient lighting in the room and only one extra outlet to charge our electronic equipment.

Review 57:You have to be a lover of Morrocon style and design to appreciate this hotel. If you do you will appreciate the attention to detail and the beautiful furnishings.

Review 58:The rooms are small but manageable. Bed not that great, airco noisy and windy. But all still okay. The shower was the enjoying part: every eve kind of a task... In 2 min everything in the badroom is wet and the floor is one big lake. Not practical and not nice.

Review 59:The swimmingpool is the big big asset of this hotel. The best ever! We loved the ethic atmosphere, the service, the friendly great staff and fabulous lunch & dinners.

Review 60:No Atmosphere - only 10 - 12 fellow guests there on any of our 3 daystay. (Early July!) It was like something out of a Hitchcock film. No-one around in evening, although communal areas very nice. Room was verysmall for money paid, we had just come from 5 days at a basic'agrotourismo' hotel near Otranto. Twice the room size, lessthan half the price - also with a pool. The pool area is beautiful, andthat is what attracted us, but it is overlooked by high-rise flats about300 yards away.

Review 61:Pool and luxury sunbeds. Helpful reception

Review 62:sometimes the room needs a little more fresh air. (there was only one small window)

Review 63:the beautiful innercourt; the swimmingpool and the design of the hotel (Moroccon style) and the very friendly staff. Wonderful hotel!!

Review 64:We did not get hot water for showers.

Review 65:I liked the first impression we got of the hotel.

Review 66:Overpriced, strong presence of bees in the outdoor eating area.

Review 67:Beautiful pool, relaxing atmosphere, great location.

Review 68:Garden room is a bit small

Review 69:Great atmosphere...amazing pool.delicius food.nice host and staff

Review 70:Relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff, good food

Review 71:The plastic covering on the daybeds, they made you sweat so much!

Review 72:The whole place was amazing we loved the location ,the look, the ambiance

Review 73:Rooms very dark. Only frosted window.

Review 74:Calm

Review 75:staff very attentif good food nice pool

Review 76:Not clean. In the middle of nowhere. Terrible breakfast. Not well kept.

Review 77:Not much.
