Reviews for Falconara Charming House & Resort
Review 1:The decor. It was like being in a station with very few seats. Terrible lighting especially the dining room which we had to use because of weather. We thought it was end of season and then heard they only closed for christmas. There did not seem to be a manager.
Review 2:Good location for sightseeing. The dinner was surprisingly good.
Review 3:Not a 5 star resort at all Not a place to go with children , even ( especially !) older ones as absolutely nothing for them to do Wifi was practically non existent
Review 4:Staff were ok, we tried to get an appointment at the spa but every time we called the phone would cut out and reception also had difficulties. They could have made better use of the bar by the pool.
Review 5:Great facilities such as the pool and the private beach, also very good breakfast
Review 6:Breakfast - small choice and no tomatoes; you have to bag stuff to bring you coffee. Room a bit old and missed a few "standard equipment" like water, tissues. Bath is a very bad condition, fridge not working.
Review 7:Hotel situated in a very quiet and cheap area of Sicily. Even the hotel is fully booked, you do not see much guests. Empty beach, empty garden...quiet and lovely if you need to rest.
Review 8:I had booked a room with a terrace, the impression I had was that it would be overlooking the sea. However it was not and the terrace was overgrown and had builders equipment stored in it. I asked to change but I was told none facing the sea were available, this was untrue as the room next to me facing the sea was vacant. Confirmed by the cleaning staff. When we left the next day it was still vacant so the service I received was very disappointing. Maybe she was having a bad day,it completely ruined the experience whatever the reason. Other staff were helpful and polite.
Review 9:Location and the grounds
Review 10:It was a stunning location. I wish we had time to use the beach, but unfortunately we were there for work so we weren't able to. I definitely plan to return!
Review 11:Very poor driving directions on booking.com. Found by asking five people. Lovely grounds with their own medieval castle and room. But for a four star hotel it was odd: you had to carry an immense bottle of soap from the shower to the sink to the bidet, no shower caps, no cups, poor room lighting, tiny TV, and a broken shelf in shower. Score: 7 of 10.
Review 12:the stony beach making it tricky getting into the sea to swim
Review 13:Loved the situation. Would have loved to have had a sea facing room as we were in the converted stables. The room was spacious and exceedingly comfortable. It was lovely to lie on the beach and then swim in the sea. liked swimming in the pool as well. excellent food
Review 14:This is a place where money talks, more than wherever I have so far been. If you spend hundreds of euros, you will be highly aprreciated. If not, staff does not even have a smile for you. Staff is not flexible at all, it is you who is expected to adopt to what they have to offer. This is a place where the guest is for the hotel and not a place where the hotel is for the guest. Wifi is available only in the lobby! But not in any of the rooms.
Review 15:Fantastic surrounding. Beautiful facility. Very good swimming pool. The sea is very nice warm.
Review 16:It has ALMOST... 1) ...a beach: there is a beach, even with sand, but about one meter before the water the sand finishes and it becomes so rocky, that you can't swim or step into the water (unless you bring climbing gear and the waves allow for it). The hotel indicates two accesses of about 1,5m each, but they are still uncomfortable and pretty dirty. Swimming during the day (at dawn we couldn't swim any more, for you need good sight) is possible, spending time in the water is not. 2) ...a charming way: the hotel is beautifully designed, but staff and rules spoil it. There is, e.g., no food provided in the afternoon (we became hungry at 16.00h). So we ordered finger food from the bar and ate at the table outside. But we had to learn, not in a charming way, that the tables belonged to the restaurant, not the bar, and this was closed for (I think) two more hours. So no guests at the tables please. (This describes the attitude pretty well, there are more incidents like that.) 3) ...beautiful views and atmosphere. The look toward the old castle is beautiful and some parts if the coast line as well. But the building of the hotel (not fattoria) drags down... It is very remote, but it is right next to a major street and a modern, unattractive little town, so no real benefit from its remoteness, certainly not quiet untouched nature. Altogether it falls far behind what we got in other (way less remote) places in Sicily for the same price level. We recommend you take it only, if you really want to go exactly to this town (why would you?) or there is no other vacancy anywhere.
Review 17:Charming room in the "la fattoria"
Review 18:The team in the restaurant didn't know English. The location is very far from every where. For us the location was good because we were on the way to Agrigento.
Review 19:Very special place, comfortable and nice. Rooms are very big, clean and beautiful. Breakfast is o.k. Near the place there is a good .Sicilian restaurant,
Review 20:Complete mixup on the food front. Rude head waiter refused to offer the a-la-carte menu which had vegetarian options we had arranged with reception. Why? No idea! Didn't bother with a return to the restaurant to be insulted a second time. Management apologised only when I questioned the bill on check out.
Review 21:The location of the superior rooms overlooking the sea is wonderful. Good stargazing on the veranda with a bottle of wine!
Review 22:WiFi only in common areas
Review 23:There was no Wifi in the rooms :(
