Reviews for Hotel La Torre

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Thank you for a lovely stay and great hospitality. Beautifully run family business! Always greeted with a smile and nothing was too much. :) amazing breakfast!

Review 3:Fantastic location in middle of old town, free parking nearby which was available every time I tried it over 5 days. Family who run it are very helpful. Plentiful breakfast. Lots of decent restaurants within 0-2 miniutes walk.

Review 4:None

Review 5:Excellent rooms, helpful staff, located in the main street of old town / castle with lots of dinner places. There is a nice small lake beach downhill from castle at Pescatore Cafè Praia.

Review 6:Overly-generous, excellent breakfast, quiet room (After the gelato shop closed), extremely helpful owners, located in the old City and near the lake, excellent restaurants nearby.

Review 7:Not a negative for the hotel but we arrived by train to discover bus connections are extremely limited, If arriving by train suggest contacting hotel to pre-arrange for the town's taxi to pick-up from station.

Review 8:Hotel is in the centre of this small town. Good sized comfortable room at rear of hotel. Variety of restaurants within 100m. Very pleasant stay.

Review 9:Nothing at all.

Review 10:La Torre is the perfect place for a touring holiday in both Umbria and Southern Tuscany. In the centre of historic Castiglione del Lago, this hotel is comfortable, welcoming and great value. There are several restaurants nearby (I particularly liked La Cantina and a newly-opened pizzeria called Barbini). The main assets of this hotel though are its lovely owners - Roberto & Simona - who could not have been more helpful. I had a couple of problems of my own making during my one week stay and Roberto was able to contact the right people to help solve them. Brilliant!

Review 11:Well cared for, updated, elegant, and the perfect location for exploring the centro storica. Quiet and comfortable. The couple who own it were very gracious and helpful, and took our tandem bicycle in their care overnight. The breakfast was fabulous with fresh pastries, and yogurt and cereal of course. This was by far the best place we stayed at on our two-week long bike trip from Florence to Rome.

Review 12:Would be good to have tea/coffee making facilities available in the room.

Review 13:Friendly, helpful host. Lovely big room and bathroom, tastefully decorated. Lovely decor throughout hotel. Breakfast of pastries and cereal plentiful. Great position in centre of town.

Review 35:Great place in the middle of the old town of Castiglione del Lago. Friendly, helpful staff. Giant breakfast (of course, a sweet Italian breakfast, but also some prosciutto and cheese for savoury breakfast people).

Review 36:Staff was really friendly and helpfull. Room was quiet and spacious. Location is in the center of the town, so everything is near, but it is still quiet.

Review 37:Wifi worked on Blackberrys but not on our PCs or iPad.

Review 39:Nowhere important.

Review 40:Friendliness, helpfulness and local knowledge of owners. The hotel was clean, well-equipped, provided a substantial breakfast, and was very good value for money.

Review 41:The hotel is in the very centre of the old town, and there are friendly bars and restaurants within a stone's throw. The owner and his family are fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are spacious and immaculately decorated and maintained. The scenery is spectacular, and the hotel is ideally situated for touring the area. We will definitely book again.

Review 42:While the breakfasts were ample, they consisted mostly of 4 or 5 sweet pastries put on your tray without any choices. Not a big deal, but wasteful and I would have preferred a buffet selection. (In fairness, you could get yogurt or cereal if you wanted.)

Review 43:Fantastic location. Small with a very friendly staff. Comfortable rooms.

Review 44:Super friendly staff that really makes you feel welcome, giving suggestions of what to see and where to eat (fantastic food). Great experience. Hihgly recommended.

Review 45:Nice hotel in the centre of the old town. Standard of service wasexcellent, nothing was too much trouble including booking motor scootersfor touring. Seriously sweet Italian breakfast pastries!

Review 46:The willing and helpful proprietor got our stay off to a very good start. We were provided with a car park slot 20m from the hotel. Whilst there is only a b/fast room, the recommendation of a local restaurant was first rate. We hope we can return to this wonderful location in the near future.

Review 47:Motorbikes parkes safely very near in old city.

Review 49:Breakfast was plentiful but too many pastries. No fruit.
