Reviews for Hotel Corsaro
Review 1:The restaurant close by had to be reminded to apply the reduction for hotel guests. The quality of the food was indifferent.
Review 2:A friendly reception; a good room with ample space and a fine view as well as a good bed . The shower was also very good
Review 3:The only option for finer was at the nearby restaurant and it was not very good.
Review 4:This Hotel is close to the cable car up to mount Etna so it's in a special location that allows you to get the first cable car at 9am before the tourist buses arrive.
Review 5:It was very cold outside (October). Our excursion to Mt Etna was cancelled because of the bad weather.
Review 6:Very helpfull people, nice hotel on a extreme location. Fun to stay there!
Review 7:No Air Co and no possibility to air the room so sleep quality was quite poor. Was a budget room so cannot complain much, next time would pay more and nor have headache in the morning.
Review 8:Very friendly and helpful staff. Fast wifi.
Review 9:The water pressure for the shower in the bathroom was quite low. Some of the communal hallways looked a bit faded.
Review 10:Great location just around the corner from the cable car for Mount Etna, with stunning views. The hotel is well-equipped with a nice spa area (€15 extra) and bar. The restaurant was closed the night I was there but I was given a discount at another restaurant down the road. The room was very comfortable and well-equipped, including tea and coffee making facilities (which is rare) and lots of international satellite TV channels. The owner is very helpful and able to provide lots of info about Etna tours etc.
Review 11:Lots of Etna dust in the room :-)
Review 12:Right on the Etna. If restaurant is closed they give you a discount in a nearby place wich is also very good Food! Breakfast is good, with lots of choises. Fresh orange juice. Rooms are big.good shower
Review 13:We had a room on the roof with a stunning view of Etna and the Gulf of Catania. Room was very comfortable and the location is ideal to catch the cable car to the top of Etna. The food in the restaurant was exellent and reasonably priced. Great selection (expecially for Italy) for breakfast with a real sicilian orange juice.
Review 14:Would love a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 15:Great location if you want to stay up close to Mt Etna. The staff were terrific and the breakfast amazing.
Review 16:The breakfast was a little bit less I guess. But besides that the other meals were more than perfect! The diner was cheap but it was the best food we had in Sicily!
Review 17:The hospitilaty was great! We had good conversations with the staff.
Review 18:The only thing I didn't like was that we only stayed there one night; if we had stayed for two we could've made use of more of the facilities (like the spa)! If I'm going to be picky, the breakfast was so-so, but not the worst we had by a long stretch!
Review 19:Davide - the owner. He's superb. I didn't read the email he sent through before we left, but that was my own loss. It was very well written with a guide of the area. The location: Superb again. You're basically on Mt Etna within easy walking distance of the cable car up the volcano. The view: I got a room with a terrace. The view from there was great (though you share the terrace with another room). Especially at Sunset!
Review 20:Location near cable car base at Mt Etna. Nice view from parts of the hotel to the ocean. Very nice and friendly staff at reception, restaurant and bar. Upgraded room as there were few travelers. Make sure to book the spa area in advance!
Review 21:We were lucky to stay during an eruption, which made the stay memorable to say the least. Dinner was excellent and fairly priced. Proximity to cabinlift and discount for guided tour to Etna made it an uncomplicated and no "turist-trap" feeling.
Review 22:Excellent location, super helpful staff, big spacious room (room 203), very clean, discount to Mt Etna funivia/4wd a bonus, view from room was to carpark, but stick head out slightly for amazing panoramic view (right side birds eye view down to Catania and Eastern Sicily coastline; left side to mount Etna volcanos). Couldn't recommend enough.
Review 23:-very very good located - very good Restaurant for breakfast and dinner with excellent Service - extremly cosy and relaxing wellness area (definitively worth the little extra money) - extremely friendly and helpful staff! - All in all: you realy get a lot for your money
Review 24:The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Great location with amazing views! Could not fault the place and it's in the best place for going up Etna. Highly recommend it to anyone going to Etna :D
Review 25:When numbers of low they don't offer an evening meal so its a 300m walk to the only good restaurant in the locality
Review 26:Very pleasant staff and good variety at breakfast.
Review 27:No bottled water in room and only one extra pillow in wardrobe.I know this is petty and I am sure, had we asked, they would have been supplied However when you are just about to jump into bed the last thing you want is to start phoning reception.
Review 28:get a room with a terrace, 207 0r 208 its worth the price
Review 29:If the hotel restaurant is closed, you need to drive down towards Catania to find something to eat. It's definitely a bad idea to go to the pizzeria close by...
Review 30:... this is the better one. It's located a little bit away from the touristic hustle and bustle around the funicular, but still close enough to walk to the valley station. Top hotel with absolute incredible view from the terrace (suite, also with modern bathroom!). Best breakfast in Italy!
Review 31:Hotel restaurant is only open if there are enough dinner reservations in advance, otherwise dinner is available at a nearby refuggio.
Review 32:Great location, big comfortable room with extra heating, excellent breakfast, great private wellness, friendly and helpful staff, discount card for cable car and other places.
Review 33:nothing
Review 34:we have stayed only 1 night and arrived late. Still, everything was prepared for us in advance. Great bed, good wi-fi, good breakfast and very helpful staff - one of the best we have experienced during our stay in Italy.
Review 35:Nothing really
Review 36:Closeness to Etna was great, comfortable, spacious rooms and very clean. Breakfast was good as well. Has spa area also but we didn't try it.
Review 37:Perfect location for being the first on the ETNA! Very kind and helpful staff, Alessandro even borrowed his walking sticks as we decided to climb to the top of the mountain! We were informed in advance that there will be no dinner so we bought our own food which was very convenient.
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:- Good base if you want to visit Mount Etna. Only 300m from the main station, from where you start you excursion to the mount Etna - Clean - Good value for money - Breakfast ok - Staff friendly and helpful
Review 40:3 stars is a bit low; more a 4 star hotel. Breakfast and evening meal were very good. Ideal for early morning tour with cable car to Etna before the tourist buses come. Be at the gate 08.40 and stay the night after at the hotel if you do a longer excursion to the top crater. I can thoroughly recommend it
Review 41:Great service from the hotel staff, gave lots of advice, discounts and knowledge about climbing Mount Etna. Fantastic location, you could not get better for a hotel on Etna.
Review 42:The hotel blocked the total cost on my credit card few hours before we arrived, but then I had to pay again with my card at checkout. My bank says that the first sum would be unblocked automatically after a month, but anyway it is not quite convenient...
Review 43:The staff on the reception is very helpful. We booked a standard twin room, they didn't have it available so instead they gave us a superior room with a stunning view over Catania. The bathroom was superb, the bed was very comfy, very quiet in the room, clean. The breakfast was very good with a vast choice of pastry. Though the hotel is not cheap, I would really recommend staying there at least for one night as an experience.
Review 44:The fact that you have to pay separately for the wellness area.
Review 45:It is the best option if you really want to enjoy the volcano of Etna. Breakfast was also good, and the staff is friendly, and they speak good enlish.
Review 46:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The dinner was delicious. Great Sicilian wine selection. 5 min walk to the cable car and all the guides tours to climb Etna.
Review 47:- twenty minutes before the breakfast finished less than half the items meant to be offered on Breakfast were still available. The following morning we had a full breakfast reporting earlier but the quality was average. - don't be fooled that at 2100 the only option for your dinner is the hotel restaurant (at 2300 some kitchens in Nicolosi are still open)
Review 48:- Location - Alessandro spent time giving us Foodie's recommendations and cultural /historical insights
Review 49:Not really anything to not like. :-)
Review 50:The location was fantastic. It was so peaceful and quiet at night. I am convinced we could see all the way to Agusta. The restaurant was closed for dinner during our one night stay but there were other places to eat. Breakfast in the hotel was fantastic. We were there for a special occasion and the manager was kind enough to give us a fantastic room per request. Very professional.
Review 51:The location as we had planned a summit of Mt Etna for the following day. It was fun to enjoy the beauty of the mountain from our balcony and hike to some of the nearby volcanic formations from the property. The hotel staff was delightful!
Review 52:Room is a little out dated, but too much :)
Review 53:Great location just next to the cable car (saves a lot of time in the morning), view is nice. Alessandro the owner is very nice and helpful
Review 54:We really enjoyed our stay in this Hotel equipped with every comfort. In addition to the SPA, we suggest to ask at reception for a massage in your room with an expert therapist that will make your holiday unforgettable.
Review 55:Bar lacked atmosphere as not used by guests in evenings we were there.
Review 56:Helpful staff Fresh orange juice at breakfast(could do with a better juicer though!) Cooler air due to location in hot season Etna erupting whilst we were there!
Review 57:Wifi could have been better. It's a little slow and only available in the lounge.
Review 58:The location is spectacular. The farmhouse is set in a amongst beautiful mountain peaks which you can really enjoy from the really large pool, 20 metres long I'd guess. The pool seems very new and is excellently maintained. The place is huge, there's lots of really old farm buildings to explore and they are beautifully maintained with authentic stone floors and massive stone walls and arches. We stayed for two nights and it would have happily stayed longer. We had to move room as we booked so late but that was fine as we got to see two rooms in different parts of the farm, both we're very nice, styled in authentic old farmhouse style. Be warned, don't make the mistake we made, if having dinner there, when they bring out the buffet of food, it is only antipasto, don't fill your plate! There will be three more courses to follow which are served directly to your table and they are huge! I'd recommend not eating a thing all day in preparation for the beautiful Sicilian cuisine. The food was truly delicious, the best food we on our ten day trip around Sicily. The whole place has a real air of relaxation. We just came from the mahem of Cefalu so the quietness and serentity of this place was so welcome. It was the most relaxing time. We'll definitely be back. The owner Carrado was a great host, we had a good laugh with him at dinner time and we were also entertained by the local wild life. Dinner is served in the beautiful garden tunnel and we were visited by a wild fox. Great place, can't say enough about it.
Review 59:Excellent location to enjoy tracking up Etna. Very helpful staff gave us excellent information to see the Eruptions happening during night time drive. We had a lovely time watching the eruptions and then spent the next day morning on the long tour with Aetna guides. Again, excellent tour and was recommended to us by hotel. A must do in Sicily for sure. Would love to be back again to climb more and explore more.
Review 60:When we arrived we were greeted by the receptionist, who told us all about the volcano and showed us videos and photos which had been taken recently on their facebook page. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed sharing his excitement about Mount Etna with the hotel guests. He really took the time to help us and answer all our questions. The guided tours are just a short walk from the hotel. The views from the hotel are simply stunning. At breakfast we were perched on the cliff, with large windows giving amazing views across Sicily. The breakfast itself was also very good.
Review 61:The staff is wonderful, helpful and kind. The food is outstanding. The view is fantastic. The location is the best possible for visiting Mt. Etna. This is lovely family run establishment.
Review 62:The evening and the breakfast buffet, the room quality and the service (especially the recommendations for visits on the Aetna and the surrounding areas).
Review 63:It was surprisingly cold at night outside on the terrace (a fact that has obviously nothing to do with the hotel) so do not forget to bring a pullover or jacket ;-))
Review 64:This hotel is highly recommended! Very friendly staff, breathtaking location with probably the best views of Sicily (we booked the terrace rooms), comfy rooms
Review 65:Housekeeping attention: shower needs a bit more pressure, cobwebs in shower cabin, dust on radiators in bathroom. A minor complaint That's all
Review 66:Location and room here is great with very friendly staff. This is an honest review and was by far the best hotel out of 6 we stayed in during our road trip of Sicily. The breakfast is varied of typical Sicilian offerings and was great. I like the history of this family run establishment. Looked at the pictures and descriptions of the events that have shaped this establishment that they have displayed. It was once taken by the mountain's lava eruptions and later rebuilt. Quite amazing to think how hard the family has had to work to build Corsaro over the many years. They have had some tough times on this mountain Etna and also good. It all shows in what they have now and I would recommend a stay here to enjoy this active Volcano.. Great
Review 67:The restaurant was closed, which they told us in advance. However so was the restaurant next-door, dining was hard to find.
Review 68:Close to cable car, breakfast was wonderful, in the heat of the summer the cooler weather was delightful, staff was extremely friendly and helpful and open the bar so we could have a drink.
Review 69:It could be freezer in the room. It would be nicer more fresh air when you coming in hotel.
Review 70:The great place if you have a car and wish to feel the real Etna spirit. Staff very kind and always with shine eyes. View unique from the hotel parking place and some hotel windows. Better value of money than in the near hotels.
Review 71:Nothing!
Review 72:Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. We walked to the cable car for Etna in 5 minutes. The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff very helpful and personable. The buffet breakfast was extensive and included many local specialities. Stunning wellness area on the main level. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 73:No faults that we took notice of :)
Review 74:First of all the customer service prior to the visit was superb (Davide). Of course great location - just near the cablecar to the top of Etna. Free parking, spacious, clean room with WiFi and discount for Etna facilities. The food in the restaurant was excellent and there was a great selection for breakfast buffet (even fresh squeezed orange juice!). Free Sky so lots of channels for us.
