Reviews for Hotel Langhe

Review 1:We wanted to open the window but finally couldn't find the way. But It was not a big deal!

Review 2:Need to walk (or drive) a bit to the centre but very good location (with spacious parking lot) to explore all Barolo and Barbaresco region! Very very kind and helpful receptionist (Grazie mille! :)) to find the best restaurants and beautiful spots around.

Review 3:Location is good if you drive but not so convenient if you don't drive. Overall it was clean but because I have very sensitive skin, the bed spread did cause some itch.

Review 4:The hotel was a nice comfortable place with extremely friendly and helpful staff who made us feel at home and very welcomed. Breakfast was adequate and the environment was peaceful, quiet and we had a nice patio that faced the hillside. The room was a good size.

Review 5:Nic fabulous host, very helpful, so close to Barola country you can take day trips to several towns and go the next day for the ones you missed. Good bed, bathroom and quiet setting.

Review 6:WiFi was not always adequate to support our needs.

Review 7:We liked the friendliness of staff; the dining areas both outside and inside, the look and comfort of the room, and their accommodation of pets.

Review 8:The bedding, the AC, and the flies in the room

Review 9:Loved the owner Nicco who told us where to visit and drew the most amazing maps to follow. Excellent staff. The room was just average. Bedding was average and no Kleenex in the bathrooms, otherwise a pleasant stay.

Review 10:Quite some active the mosquitoes, don't forget your spray. And the wifi quality could be better.

Review 11:Staff was very helpfull, extremely friendly and optimistic. Quiet location close to Alba city center with free city bikes. Lovely breakfast and nice little swimming pool.

Review 12:There was building work planned during our stay. We weren't informed in advance or informed on the actual day, just asked to remove our car from the car park as it was being resurfaced. We had booked a garden room specifically but couldn't actually use it on the only day we were staying because of the diggers outside.

Review 13:Staff were friendly and the hotel is intimate and handy for Alba. Bikes are available free of charge.

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:You feel welcome right away. Staff is very friendly and competent. There is a distance to the centre of Alba, but the hotel has bikes you can use for free. Nice garden with a small pool. All you need for a comfortable stay!

Review 16:Nothing - everything was good.

Review 17:Fantastic owner who was very politly and gently. Our room was fantastic too with a fantastiv terasse. Very good breakfast and very close to the other wine areas as Barbaresco and Barolo.

Review 18:Difficult to find the hotel down small backstreet. We would have been lost without satnav.

Review 19:Very quiet location near to the town. Staff helpful and very friendly.

Review 20:The hotel has a perfect location to visit Alba and the rest of Piemonte. With the hotel bikes the city centre is only a few minutes away. The staff makes you feel at home and the surroundings are very pleasant. Perfect.

Review 21:Rooms have vinyl flooring which was cold underfoot and made the room feel more like budget accomodation; location isn't as bucolic as the photos suggest as it's surrounded by large buidlings.

Review 22:Friendly staff, warm welcome, simplicity of rooms and kind extras like a welcome spritz and local food gift on departure.

Review 23:Location, although quiet and parking is available, does not have a great setting. But it is convenient.

Review 24:Loved the decoration of the rooms, the balcony, the kind and friendly service, the breakfast. It was a highly comfortable and good experience.

Review 25:room last decorated 1950 i think. rain leaked onto our bed through the roof. Owner did not seem to be to concerned. would not stay there again

Review 26:service not bad.

Review 27:The location is very convenient to town. The staff us particularly gracious and knowledgeable about where to eat what to see and the local vineyards. We had a beautiful room with a terrace for a great price.

Review 28:perhaps the bed was a little to hard-

Review 29:The hospitality of the owner ,excellent conversation and many advises and tips - The location and quietness of the position - The breakfast was delicious . I am looking forward to coming again with the family this time

Review 30:The approach to the hotel didn't really reflect what you were going to find there. The shower curtain was a bit old and tired (surprising when everything else about the décor suggested a fanatical attention to detail!).

Review 31:The welcome was outstanding and the room very comfortable. This is a quirky and individual hotel of genuine quality and charm. The staff were delightful and the "light dishes" offered in the evening (we chose not to go into town to eat) were delicious, with an excellent glass of wine.

Review 32:I don't have a single criticism.

Review 33:This hidden-away hotel is a bike-ride from the historic center of Alba (bikes provided by the hotel), but still on the edge of the countryside, with a large garden and a pool. Turn your lounge chair the right way, and all you see is beautiful scenery. Delightful staff, excellent breakfast, quiet and comfortable rooms, free parking. Plus close to a charming town with great food and wine. Perfection.

Review 34:Approach down small lane past a small industrial workshop but absolutely fine when you get there.

Review 35:Great welcome, very refreshing (glass of wine offered)! Excellent breakfast. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 36:The bed could have been a little more comfortable. Could hear noise from other rooms during the night.

Review 37:Friendly staff, good central location, excellent wifi, clean rooms and facilities.

Review 38:Everything has been perfect! The room, the breakfast, the pool and of course the whole staff. They helped us organize wine tastings, dinners etc, as I said, perfect! The location is a bit outside of Alba, but still easy to reach and with the bikes which you can get for free, it's only 10min to town. You've got a great view from the pool on vineyards, so definitely a sight to enjoy! We will definitely come back!!

Review 39:Insects, mosquitoes and no tea making facilities or water bottle in the room.

Review 40:A personal and prompt service who went an extra mile to make us feel like we can count on them anytime any day. Something that never can be found in big city accommodation. A place that I want to come back to in the future.

Review 41:Great location and views, excellent atmosphere, very friendly, helpful and relaxed staff, beautiful spacious rooms, good selection of local wines, grappa's and food. And a great natural pool.

Review 42:The hotel had a very friendly atmosphere which made you feel at home. Relaxing garden with swimming pool. The hotel served nice wines and excellent cheeses. Bicycles available to go in town. Nice view on the hills from the balcony and on the stream with kingfishers.

Review 43:everything was perfect.

Review 44:We had fantastic view from balcony...mountains, river..very nice and peaceful place to have a glass of local wive and to rest after long trip. Little present on check-out was nice surprise.

Review 45:Nothing! There is honestly nothing bad about this hotel!

Review 46:Staff were incredibly helpful and nice. Great value for money, with quality facilities and brilliant breakfast. Can not recommend this hotel enough! Free bike rental, close to town but quiet and great views of the hills. Such a fantastic stay.

Review 47:We stayed only for one night in this small comfortable hotel, but we liked it a lot and are sure to come back soon. It has a special private atmosphere.

Review 48:-staff, led by owner, go out of their way to please -excellent location close to all wine villages -close to Alba village, with free bikes available if you do not have a car -clean, basic rooms -good breakfast

Review 49:Nothing, the hotel is just a bit different to the corporate chains.

Review 50:Nico the owner was exceptionally helpful and made our stay in Alba and the hotel very satisfying.

Review 51:This was the perfect base of operations for anything you might want to do in the region and the perfect place to unwind after a "stressful" day trying wines in the region. I'd recommend this place to anybody.

Review 52:Proximity to wineries and villages with great restaurants, wine tastings, and scenery. After spending 2 weeks in big cities we really enjoyed the feel of Alba and the surrounding area. This hotel made a great home base from which to go out exploring the countryside. Also, great breakfast that could be eaten on their patio, and a pool for cooling off.

Review 53:In our opinion this is not necessarily a 4-star hotel. The pool & garden area is very nice, but for a 4 star hotel breakfast should offer a larger choice and the rooms should be better maintained (e.g. we were missing a kettle in the room and the cover of the bed doesn't look hygienic at all..)

Review 54:very nice pool & garden. and we appreciated the nice small present when checking-out

Review 55:Great hosts, every suggestion was excellent, every restaurant recommended was fabulous, and it was fun to bike around. We had every need or want looked after and more. I recommend Hotel Langhe 100%.

Review 56:Wifi connection was cery poor i was able to connect just in the mornings ( we stayed 2 days)

Review 57:Very friendly staff great boutique hotel

Review 58:Wifi needs improvement. Room looked a bit tired. Mattress was reasonably comfortable.

Review 59:Abundant and good breakfast. Reasonable price.

Review 60:The welcome with a glass of local wine was a nice touch

Review 61:The food and environment is superb!

Review 62:Lousy wifi access!

Review 63:Staff and welcome drinking.

Review 64:facilities (pool, view, landscaping) not at all as advertised. worse still was that air conditioning was very poor

Review 65:berakfast

Review 66:Friendliness of staff, opening hours of restaurant and bar, garden/pool area, overall location

Review 67:The hotel was comfortable, pool was modern. Everything was just perfect.

Review 68:Delightful owner and staff who went out of their way to be helpful and to make our stay memorable. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Review 69:Pool a little bit warm, but very nice place!

Review 70:Great staff - nice talks and very good information! Bikes for free for the ride to town center.

Review 71:Helpful, friendly staff. Nice garden setting with swimming pool. Comfortable well appointed room.

Review 72:The owners' kindness, the location, the facilities and overall invitation to spend a relaxing and refreshing stay.

Review 73:the proximity or the Town

Review 74:No dining options in immediate area, however, bikes are provided

Review 75:Quite room with nice view Proximity to Alba Free and spacious parking

Review 76:Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Excellent dinners served from a short menu with a fine selection of wines.

Review 77:Very friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful hotel.

Review 78:The owners were amazing, so kind & helpful. I was sad to go. I hope to stay there again one day soon. You should defiantly stay here.

Review 79:Location location location!!!

Review 80:Our internet connection (while fast) was odd- I could not post to my blog and my travel mates who were using Ipads could not do much at all

Review 81:Everything

Review 82:Poor WIFI.

Review 83:Good local foods for breakfast. Free parking Kindness.

Review 84:staying at Langue valley, the windows view could be nicer.

Review 85:The staff is great, suggesting what to do and or not and helping in doubts.

Review 86:Hotel is next to a hospital and an office block!

Review 87:Staff very helpful. Located close to many lovely Barolo villages. Good breakfast.

Review 88:Friendly, helpful staff, great location, modern clean facilities.

Review 89:I think the kidness of the staff is 10 out of 10!! The place and all details simply perfect

Review 90:I had to request coffee/ table service in the a.m. becuz the waitress ignored me.

Review 91:Nico! The personalized hospitality!

Review 92:Pool looked better from pictures

Review 93:Exellent friendly staff and owner.

Review 94:The staff is very accommodating & everyone is so nice. The hotel is wonderful & the breakfast was great!

Review 95:In general everything, specially the help/advices/knowledge of the staff. Also the relaxed feeling.

Review 96:Amazing Breakfast & (typical) lunch, wonderful hydro-pool

Review 97:The view to the vineyards, a nice little pool and really serviceminded staff. Perfect in all ways!

Review 98:All was good.

Review 99:Lovely location. Lovely staff. Delicious breakfast and good advice for dinner in town. A highly recommend hotel.

Review 100:Nothing -everything excellent.

Review 101:Hotel was beyond our expectations. The room was well laid out, spotless and the firefly display outside spectacular (having not seen them before). The people (staff or family I'm not sure) were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was perfect. We also enjoyed the pool and made use of the bikes to ride into town which I'd recommend doing - lovely riding back very late in the evening in the warm climate. Thanks to the owners of the hotel for a brilliant stay. Most highly recommended.

Review 102:The wi-fi was a little inconsistent and the bathroom needed a new shower curtain.

Review 103:The staff was amazing - helpful, kind, spoke fluent English, they helped us with reservations and phone calls and gave excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants. The property was beautiful - quaint and quiet.

Review 104:The cleaning could be better. The carpet on the scales was old, dusty and very smelt a lot. The wallpaper was loose at the edges and needed fastening.

Review 105:The friendliness of the personal. They are all very helpful. A really nice atmosphere in the hotel!!!

Review 106:Everything! But far and away, the staff and owner Nico were the best part of our experience. We travelled for the last month on our bikes and ended our journey at his hotel in Alba, planning on catching the train to Milano and finding bike boxes there, breaking the bikes down, getting to the airport and flying out etc. Having never done this before, it was a bit of a daunting task, but Nico went out of his way to help us. He called multiple bike shops, and eventually found a friend who had two bike boxes he needed to get rid of! They delivered them to us! We stayed an extra night here at this wonderful place, and packed the bikes up outside by the pool. SO much more relaxing and easy to do. He then drove us to the train station, and helped us figure out our tickets, smiling/laughing the whole time. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! In regards to the rest of the facility - the pool is awesome! Cold jets, clean towels, lots of lounge chairs - fabulous and a must on a hot day. Our room was great, the shower came with a bath tub (a rarity in Italy I've found) and the breakfast was wonderful too - they even made to-order eggs. I can't say enough good things about this place. If traveling through Alba (which is such a cool town in and of itself) - please stay here. We caught the tail end of Alba Jazz Fest - magical. Oh! And they let you borrow cruiser bikes too to get downtown. xoxoxoxoxo

Review 107:Not the easiest to find, first time, as the satnav will take you into the grounds of the adjoining hospital! A 15 minute walk into the town centre.

Review 108:Modern but comfortable small hotel, with excellent staff/owners who helped arrange local wine tastings. Good breakfast and availability of evening snacks was welcome.

Review 109:Luca greeted us with the most welcoming smile. His hospitality is outstanding. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge and drinking some of the most delicious Barolos the area has to offer. Luca's knowledge and passion for the wine and food of this region was outstanding. We all admired the funky, artsy decor of this gem of a hotel.

Review 110:The placement of the room right above the entrance where people went out for a smoke which filled our room with cigarette smoke. Couldn't leave the window open. Also very noisy during morning hours, and noise coming from the hall way.

Review 111:Good breakfast, nice location, very friendly staff, clean and good size room.

Review 112:Extremely helpful and knowledgable front desk staff; they know the region, its wines, restaurants and attractions in detail. Free parking. Nice grounds. Good breakfasts. Highly recommended.

Review 113:The area around the hotel is in the middle of a industrial area.

Review 114:Nico, the owner, and the staff takes good care of you during your stay. Excellent suggestions to where to wine and dine - as well as some wineries to vist

Review 115:Too far away from old town of Alba, at least to walk there with small children.

Review 116:Very cosy and staff very helpfull and friendly. Nice swimming pool and garden with a tiny view to wineyards.

Review 117:One of the best hotels I have stayed at in a while. The staff makes the difference. Friendly, smiling, always ready to help. They made restaurant recommendations and rerservations. They recommend local hiking trails and then gave me a hiking guide book to use for the day. The location is perfect for exploring the Langhe wine country. The breakfast is good. Nice garden and pool. Can't wait to come back with my family.
