Reviews for Clifford House B & B

Review 1:Very friendly welcome. The room was beautifully appointed, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, served in a lovely dining room with the most amazing viewe. Excellent!

Review 2:Not only is Clifford House B&B a couple of minutes away from the Rosslare to Fishguard (Wales) ferry but also a really beautiful destination in itself. It is set up above the sea so you can hear the waves below - how wonderful it will be to be there in summer with your bedroom window open and hear that lulling sound as you fall asleep. The gardens are beautifully arranged - again - great for a nice summer evening. Margaret is kind and attentive (without being intrusive or overpowering) and looked after us very well. After writing a glowing review I do hope we shall be able to find a space there next time we take the ferry!

Review 3:We arrived mid afternoon and Margaret immediately asked if we would like tea or coffee. We had had a long drive so gratefully accepted. Margaret returned to the TV lounge with not only the tea but some Christmas cake a warm mince pie and a cookie each. Such a nice touch. Clifford house was warm and comfortable and we still cannot work out how we got such fantastic place to stay before out early ferry for the price we paid. Breakfast was great and a good selection of cereals etc. as well as the cooked breakfast with its various options. We would stay here again without doubt and will recommend it to family and friends who may be in the area in the future.

Review 4:Wonderful place, tasteful and well appointed. Fantastic, convenient location. Amazing hospitality and assistance from the owner especially when our car refused to start on the morning of our departure.

Review 5:Family room was adequate, personally, didn’t like having to go back outside to access dining room - particularly when it was raining.

Review 6:Stayed twice in a matter of days, room in house was excellent.

Review 7:Nope, can't think of a thing.

Review 8:It had everything, comfortable bed and room, clean bathroom with a good shower and plenty of towels, a roaring fire in the TV room with a very welcome pot of tea, our room had a view over the sea, breakfast was great, piping hot and with everything you would expect and more and a hostess who went the extra mile to make it a good experience.

Review 9:The location and the view on the ocean are spectecular. Margaret who runs the B&B was wonderful. Special thanks to her for having such a warm welcome to our dog. We really felt like home there.

Review 11:We have stayed many times at this outstanding B&B, it is an excellent location for the car ferry. Margaret is an extremely friendly and accommodating host, who always makes us an excellent breakfast before our onward journey. Thank you again.

Review 12:Nothing bad, but there are a lot of stairs to get up from the ferry to the house. We opted for a taxi because we had a lot of luggage.

Review 13:This is the cutest B&B I've ever stayed at. All wood floors, soft beds and really kind and caring staff. Wish I could have stayed much longer.

Review 20:Friendly welcome by helpful and accommodating owners. Home made cake and biscuits with a much needed pot of tea on arrival, served by an open fire. Delicious Irish cooked breakfast with flexible timings. Helpful suggestions of where to eat, park visit, play golf etc. Even gave us the fancy programme for the Wexford Opera Festival.

Review 36:Stayed 16/8; Very friendly host, informative, made us feel very welcome in their home. Room was clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money, treated us like family. Thank you! We definitely will be recommending our family and friends.

Review 37:Room was at the rear next to Boiler House with a flue extract that was noisy when operating. Toilet seat loose. Shower doors didn't quite shut together. Room and bathroom smaller than expected but fine for one night.

Review 38:Location with excellent views over the sea and only few minutes drive to the ferry terminal.Good breakfast.

Review 39:Margaret was a welcoming host. Offered tea and cake on arrival. Information given of local area. Excellent breakfast, lovely homemade bread Great location overlooking sea.

The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very enjoyable with fresh, home cooked ingredients. We could not fault anything about our stay and would certainly recommend. It was also so convenient for our ferry journey the next morning.

Review 41:The gravel drive it's a bit scary on a large motorcycle other than that it's fine.

Review 42:Very friendly couple the view was fantastic the place was in a lovely location we would stay there again no problem.t

Review 48:Location was fantastic on the cliff-top overlooking the harbour. Great walks from the place for the evening so arrive in time! Margaret gave us a wonderful welcome and recommended the walks and was able to give us an early breakfast so we could catch the 8.45 am ferry to Pembroke.

Review 49:I didn't enjoy being able to hear the conversation in the next room and the morning coffee was too weak for my taste.

Review 50:The location was lovely, overlooking the sea and with easy access to a clifftop walk.

Review 51:We had a wonderful, comfortable stay with Margaret and Michael it was a home away from home, we had to catch the early ferry the next morning and didn't want to leave this B & B

Review 57:We liked everything about Clifford House.

Review 58:Both my husband and I thought that Clifford House was the best bnb we've ever visited. That's best anywhere. The location is amazing. The house is beautiful. The room was spacious, clean and private.

Review 59:Beautiful view of the harbor and sea. Easy walk along the clifftop path to a restaurant. Friendly, helpful owners. Lovely garden and large, pleasant room with modern attached bathroom.

Review 60:Nothing drastic, wifi was a little slow.

Review 61:The owner was very friendly, great location, great breakfast, rooms very clean and comfortable. The interior was really well done too!

Review 62:Incredible guest house so close to ferry but overlooking a fabulous beach, long walks for dog. The attention to detail was amazing & breakfast wad excellent

Review 63:We booked a sea view (as advertised), on arrival we were given a room with a garden view. Queried this via booking.com and the response from the owner was "only one sea view room is available and it is allocated on a first come basis". Well if a room is advertised as "sea view" and confirmed as "sea view" then I expect to get what I booked. Disappointed with owners response - the room description should not be misleading to customers. A subsequent "sea view" booking I had for the return leg of our journey was cancelled.

Review 64:Location

Review 65:Everything was OK.

Review 66:Perfect locations for travelers via ferry and car from Ireland to UK with additional nice walking trail directly from hotel with views to the harbor from one side and to the coast and small cliffs at the other side. Nice breakfast and helpful staff.

Review 67:the welcome, the coffee and biscuits the peaceful location with super views plenty of rooms and outside space to relax which is rare in a b&b and much more.

Review 68:Everything....location, food, sleep and service as obliging and helpful as one could ask. What more could one want...or say. Will certainly come again.

Review 69:Margaret our host welcomed us with tea and homemade cakes. Breakfasts each day were superb. Margaret very kindly drove us into Wexford on several occasions because we didn't have a car. She couldn't have been more helpful. Beautiful views from the beautiful house. Thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay.

Review 70:No wifi in room - family room- although stated there was on confirmation Dogs only allowed in room to be honest Told not allowed in lounge especially when other guests around

Review 71:Lovely location Ideal for dog walking Minutes from ferry port Welcome coffee when we arrived Clean and comfortable rooms Places in garden to sit and enjoy the view

Review 73:breakfast and location couldn't be better -lovely spot! breakfast up and going bright and early to enable ferry trippers to catch an 8:45 a.m. ferry! All done with a SMILE!

Review 74:Leaving

Review 75:Have stayed at Clifford House a few times and yes now and once again we cannot fault the house or owners as B&B goes its a "beaut"

Review 76:Our room was very crowded and had a separate entrance to the main house. We ended up in two double beds because the access round either one was awkward.

Review 77:It was very convenient for a morning ferry and our host was very helpful

Review 78:Parking is limited but 'just enough'.

Review 79:This property is ideally located for access to the Rosslare Ferry Terminal, but is down a side road overlooking the Irish Sea. Convenient without being on top of.

Review 80:Nothing to dislike

Review 81:Fabulous accommodation if you need s place to stay nesr to the Ferry terminal. Gorgeous accommodation, very clean and loved all the beautiful trinkets and ornaments, lots and lots of character. Owners were so kind and helpful too.

Review 82:Wi-fi was not accessible from the room to laptop or any other devices. This wasn't a big deal.

Review 83:Location, staff (welcome and directions) and breakfast. Dining is very close.

Review 84:The B&B was wonderful and most convenient for the ferry and there is a great coastal path to walk from here, but the town of Rosslare is not very interesting.

Review 85:Love very walk up along the shoreline from the ferry. Cosy sitting room with a fire to relax and socialize. Wonderful views from our room. Great walk along the shore before breakfast.

Review 86:Not a real problem but the water was scalding hot in the shower and not easily adjustable. We managed OK though.

Review 87:It was quiet and peaceful with 2 other couples staying as far as I could gather. Lovely log fire in the TV room as it was a bit chilly. Arrived late and had to leave early but would love to have looked around the gardens, they looked lovely in the early morning light.

Review 88:This b&b is one of cosiest I have ever stayed in, it was very homely and Margaret (the hotel owner) was very welcoming and helpful. I have stayed at a few hotels in Rosslare before such as the Harbour View hotel, but they do not compare to Clifford house . From now on everytime I am passing through Rosslare this will be the b&b I will stay in. I cannot find a fault with this b&b. Room was spotless, breakfast was superb and it has the most beautiful scenery! My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay but regret not staying for longer. We will be going back in August. I would recommend anyone to book this hotel, it is 10 out of 10 and you won't regret it!

Review 89:Don't eat at the Rosslare Hotel - worst food in Ireland ! Travel 10minutes and find a place that serves local food - highly recommend theSilver fox at Kilmore Quay- great service and amazing food.

Review 90:Very clean and comfortable. Welcoming host Gorgeous views

Review 91:We have used this b&b for a number of years and found it excellent every time. Thank you for a nice way to start and finish our holidays in Ireland.

Review 92:The breakfast could contain a bit more vegetables :-)

Review 93:Margarete the owner was totally friendly and helpful. She recommended many places to go so the restaurants. Her beautiful Victorian house is located on the cliff right above the beach. Luckily the ferry harbor of Rosslare stays far behind the house so you won't get bothered by the ferry traffic. The beach underneath the house is totally charming and you can walk along the coast several km .. Great restaurants we've been to are The Saltee Chipper - Kilmore Quay -> fisher village, fresh fishes on the plate! Than in Wexford is The Yard and Green Acres in Wexford. As a foodies we can those restaurants highly recommend!

Review 94:Besides the location to ferry port, the well maintained beautiful landscaped gardens, the warm welcome of Margaret and Michael, the tasty breakfast which also catered for my coeliac husband, it was the the over and above kindnesses which for us made this b and b very special. Margaret drove us to evening Mass and the following morning also drove us to the port.

Review 95:Nil!!!!

Review 96:Margaret was just lovely. We were made feel at home, served fresh coffee and homemade cake on our arrival. Clean, crisp linen. Spacious room, enough for us, our daughter and a travel cot for our little boy. Great value.

Review 97:Twin room was a bit small.

Review 98:hospitality and general resources - reading and lounge room. Bright airy breakfast room - and an excellent breakfast. Very good choice.

Review 99:I concur totally with the other very positive reviews who share the same wonderful experience that we had on staying overnight at Clifford House B & B. The first thing on arrival that strikes one is the fabulous location right over the sea with unimpeded views. Next this wonderful house full of character and charm and its hosts Margaret and Michael who were there to greet us and make us very welcome and in no time we were sitting down in a very comfortable lounge to delicious coffee, cake and biscuits. The room was as you would expect very clean and tastefully decorated in a nice green which is very relaxing. Shower and toilet en suite and a kettle with coffee, teas and bottled water. The beds were as comfortable as I have ever been in and made it more difficult to rise early in order to catch our ferry. The breakfast was prepared to perfection and set us up for the long day ahead. We will certainly return here as it was such a memorable experience and a very big thanks again to Margaret and Michael for their welcome.

Review 100:There were no bad points as we were very impressed by the location and the fact that such a beautiful place accepted dogs.

Review 101:The location to the port and coast. Made to feel very welcome and also with having our Springer Spaniel this made us feel relaxed. Would do another stop over and have already recommend to our friends.

Review 102:Clifford House is a beautiful property on the cliffs overlooking Moran's Bay and the Rosslare Ferryport. Margaret is so helpful and goes out of her way to make you welcome. This was our second stay and we will be back. Clifford House should be a destination, not only a stopover for the ferries.

Review 103:The hospitality at this B&B was genuine and welcoming. We only got to stay one night but they helped us make the most of our time. The home is very inviting and the location is superb.

Review 104:The house was lovely. We enjoyed hearing about its history! The rooms were clean and tidy with good facilities. Breakfast was lovely too. Couldn't fault this property at all!

Review 105:I liked everything at this property, from the amazing views to the lovely, friendly couple that run this little B&B. Made me and my mum so very welcome. It is a lovely place to stay, and the Irish breakfast was out of this world. I can not praise it enough. Will definitely be returning.

Review 106:Didn't have the time to stay longer!

Review 107:Well located in a quiet cul-de-sac with wondeful views over the harbour. Friendly welcome and a great room, everywhere was immaculate and within easy walking distance of a couple of decent restaurants.

Review 108:Our experience at Clifford House B&B was fantastic!!! The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect and our bedroom had the most perfect view.
