Reviews for Coral Gables Guesthouse

Review 1:Really friendly owner made us feel very welcome. Our dog was very welcomed too and allowed to sleep on our room. Delicious breakfast. We will definitely be going back.

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:The staff was so nice! Nothing was too much and the breakfast was the best and biggest i have had during my whole trip. Very close to the ferry so great when you have to get an early one

Review 4:My dog wasn't allowed in the breakfast room, but they brought me food in the lounge. :)

Review 5:Very close to the port, there was lots of grass to walk my dog around, the staff was very friendly and helpful -- they recommended a great dinner spot and gave me a lift to the port in the morning.

Review 6:The en suite showers could do with a little updating.

Review 7:The location is brilliant for the Ferry. The Staff are always welcoming, The beds are very comfortable, the rooms very well presented and the breakfast is fantastic

Review 8:Walls are a bit thin as we had very noisy people in room next to us - not the owners fault that they liked to talk loudly!

Review 9:very clean, comfy bed & ideal location for ferry. Pub across road does awesome food!

Review 10:Best B & B room I've had while in Ireland. Beautiful grounds, near ferries, very clean throughout, comfortable bed, great shower, excellent breakfast. Staff was warm, welcoming, helpful. The way an Irish B & B or Inn is supposed to be according to our romantic imagination of Ireland! Old-fashioned hospitality.

Review 11:Our room had condensation running down the glass door & window overnight & cobwebs in the corners of the room. Outside lights covering front of house left on all night & totally annoying. Breakfast reheated & of poor quality. Decor dated & in need of updating.

Review 12:Great location

Review 13:My young dog tearing up his bed in the kennel. Owner took it well though and we did Pay for it. Sorry.

Review 14:A little dated but this is reflected in the price. We use it for a ferry stop and the kennels are great for the dogs. Very friendly.

Review 15:The staff was a bit rude during breakfast, because the children didn't like it and couldn't finish it. The halls were very noisy and there was no water pressure in the shower, which was really dirty, too.

Review 16:The price and proximity to the harbour.

Review 17:could do with a little TLC.

Review 18:Really friendly and helpful. We turned up later than expected and the lady who opened the door to us didn't make us feel bad which had happened before at another B and B xx

Review 19:Warm welcome. Heating in room evening and morning as it was cool weather and this was a relaxing touch. delicious breakfast and comfortable lounge to read or relax in.

Review 20:There was no cot ready as we had asked for. However, staff were quick to sort it out for us.

Review 21:Location was great for getting the ferry early the next morning. Room was clean & comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 22:It was so damp, cold and felt like going back a few decades. The staff were helpful around vegetarian breakfasts etc but there was such a general air of dilapidation around the place that it didn't feel good. The floors between the stories were so thin the man in the room downstairs kept me awake snoring all night. Also I was charged a little bit more than I had signed up to.

Review 23:The location; the fact that there was a family room.

Review 24:The fact that I could bring my pet dog for company and that she was allowed stay in the bedroom rather than the kennels. She was treated the same as myself with no remarks passed on any occasion. I know from speaking to other pet owners that they were so pleased with this facility - particularly those guests who had travelled on the ferry. The guest- house owner makes one feel so welcome as do the breakfast ladies. I will be back again as soon as is is feasible for me. I had a really wonderful stay and would recommend this place to anyone. Try finding better!

Review 25:All ok

Review 26:The Lady serving breakfast at first seemed a little abrupt but when we got chatting I found her very pleasant. Paul the host was extremely friendly , everything else was very basic but it was fine for me and 40 euro for b/b was reasonable

Review 27:I was the only one booked in and it was a bit spooky. Also, when they say check in is at 1800, they mean 1800 and not a second sooner.

Review 28:Clean and quiet, excellent breakfast, convenient to ferry port.

Review 29:The landlady had a very harsh manner when speaking on the phone and not helpful when arranging the check-in time.

Review 30:The breakfast was quite good. Pity they didn't have larger glasses for the orange juice though.

Review 31:I was able to check in early as I had a 5k race nearby that evening.Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very pleasant. There was a good choice of food for breakfast-fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, juice and full Irish breakfast if you wanted it. It was good value for money and I would definitely stay there again!

Review 32:Nothing to report.

Review 33:Alice and Dennis made me feel so at home, so friendly and welcoming. Ran me down to the pub and even offered to pick me up later. Lovely breakfast, comfy bed and a good nights sleep, and a nice hot shower. Thanks again and see you next time.

Review 34:if you turned on bathroom light it would light up the whole bedroom (not good for middle of the night bathroom trips) Everything else was great.

Review 35:Staff very nice and helpful; breakfast was delicious. Located near ferry. Bedroom and bathroom clean.

Review 36:We arrived off the ferry from Rosslare & we were made very welcome by the owner, our rooms were spotless ,warm & very comfortable. The staff at breakfast were very friendly & we all had a full Irish breakfast plus fruit juices, yoghurt, all manner of cereals, toast ,tea & coffee as much as we wanted.Nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly stay there again & would definately recommend this B & B.The view from the front of the building was beautifull with a garden at the back.

Review 37:The lady who was working there ( I forget her name sorry!) was so sweet, she seemed geniunely interested in getting to know me and even gave me a homegrown apple for my journey ahead! The room was gorgeous and so quiet. Breakfast was really good and cooked exactly how I asked for it and I would recommend anyone to go there.

Review 38:The wall in my room was thin so I could hear the people next door talking and snoring

Review 39:Staff super helpful Room super clean Breakfast nice Great location to ferry

Review 40:I always stay here when travelling across on the Rosslare-Fishguard ferry, as you have to check in at 8am. I always need pet-friendly accommodation - and Coral Gables is perfect in every way!

Review 41:Breakfast was quite small. A dog barking most of the night kept us awake.

Review 42:Room was good size, very close to ferry port. Was booked at last minute and a good price

Review 43:My stay was just an overnight one, where I found no faults.

Review 44:1. Firstly I wish to congratulate Coral Gables for its well illuminated sign as I arrived after dark. 2. The proprietor was most helpful, when I arrived alone with a sleepy infant, awaiting the rest of our party. I would, therefore, highly recommend the Coral gables to anyone and especially to those travelers catching the morning ferries from Fishguard to the UK.

Review 45:I took the bus to Coral Gables and was able to get off at the bus stop DIRECTLY outside of the guesthouse, which was incredibly convenient (I didn't have to walk or taxi from the harbor!). When I arrived, Paul was very accommodating and helpful! He even offered to drive me to the ferry dock in the morning so I wouldn't have to worry about a bus or walking, which was a Godsend since I was traveling alone! There is one pub that is across the street from the guesthouse, which serves enough of a variety of foods that there is not a big need for another restaurant, but about 8-9km down the road there are some restaurants toward the beach, and also more up the road toward the harbor. The room was perfect-- very cozy, good wifi, shower/toilet room and sink was separate (which I liked-- would be great for more than one person traveling together!). I had a great night's sleep and woke up to a delicious made-to-order full Irish breakfast. There is a wonderful spread of yogurts, cereals, and fresh whole/sliced fruit and tea/coffee/OJ/water.

Review 46:WiFi was a bit poor, but not a major issue. also, Not the b&b's fault but not much local for getting food so eat before you arrive.

Review 47:Staff very friendly and rooms very clean. Family room was a great size. Will definitely use again.

Review 48:'En suite' was a joke. A corner of the room partitioned off for toilet and shower. The shower curtain had brown stains on the bottom, also tiling around the shower tray is shockingly bad. I ask the question, would you accept this as a room in your own private house and think it is ok? Then why do you think is ok to expect people to pay good money for something you would not accept at home? Hand basin area in room was horrible. Our room certainly was not what was pictured for tripadvisor. Breakfast was full irish or 'continental'. Continental being an irish breakfast without the fry! Only instant coffee. Made a point of asking what coffee, instant or freshly ground, on first morning and opted for tea. Second morning asked what coffee, no surprises....instant. Breakfast room decor bad, in my opinion, dress the tables...table clothes, a fresh flower, not pretend flowers like there were. Again, in my opinion, the place is just very tired and needs alot of attention. Our balcony has a light fitting that is filthy inside and out, electric cables, tacked across the front of the house.
