Review 1：Our room was quite noisy and we couldn't therefore open our windows. The air conditioning was not working. Walking anywhere from the hotel was not pleasant because we had to encounter traffic. We would have liked the bar to be open.

Review 2：This holiday was our honeymoon, even though we are a mature couple. We will remember the hotel and Marsala. The hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff were brilliant and very friendly and helpful.

Review 3：Breakfast was cake orientated. No bar that we could find. Silly charges for pool towels. No pool service/bar We stayed in Mid-Sept so hardly well out of season. No "atmosphere" in the hotel. No access to beaches, need a car to get about really.

Review 7：As the hotel is located at the harbor, away from downtown, the smell of sewage is unbearable on hot afternoons. Rooms at the right side of the hotel are facing a deposit of ghastly. The high price is not worthy all luxuries presented, for even the breakfast was affected by the high amount of sweets and scarcity of bread, cheese and fruit. We tried to reduce our stay due to the frustration, but the staff didn't allowed for obvious reasons....

Review 16：We've been there for the super low price. The personnel was extremely nice and helpul. We got lots of recommendations where to go and what to see in Sicily. What's important it weren't too known touristic spots but quiet and really nice ones. Breakfasts consisted of dozens of different things to eat put on a sweedish table.

Review 19：Off season it is very quiet and the dining room and hotel are not in full gear - one person at the desk and one taking care of baggage, breakfast and any other food/drink requests....they said they would make us dinner but since we were alone, we ate at Il Buccaneri a short up the street. The location is away from the old town so it is either a very long walk or a short drive with easy parking.

Review 20：Entrance is lovely..the hotel easy to find on the marina ...staff very kind went out of their way to make a lunch for us when we arrived mid afternoon. Rooms comfortable and quiet though we were almost the only people there in November. The pool looked beautiful. A massage was wonderful..though no spa facilities. Lots of TV channels - good for us because it rained!

Review 21：This hotel seems to have had it's day and is somewhat neglected, definitely not a 5 star property. The curtains in our room were dirty, there was no service by the pool not even an offer of a coffee. Restaurant was only for breakfast. Not a great location, our room overlooked a road and railway track. Definitely needs some TLC.

Review 23：Hotel and room ware not clean enough (We ware staying four days in this hotel. During that time maid services did not clean stains from mirror in our bathroom which we found on arrival. Public bathroom on lobby was so dusty, so I was able to draw 'dust' on basins surface.) Some facility should be replaced... eg. hand shower - it was damaged so much, that we had pitiable stream instead of shower.

Review 35：Room was dark and overlooking an industrial type area. It was not expensive and therefore we accepted the room. Extra bed in room which was not needed.

Review 37：The five star rating is a demonstration that Italy/Europe needs tostandardize their criteria. The hotel is the nicest in the area, but webe considered three stars in many other areas. The rooms were average.If you aren't a lover of cakes in the morning, you will find little else to eat for breakfast.

Review 38：Nice swimming pool, amazing breakfast if you are into Sicilian sweets.They offered at least 10 kinds of cakes including the classics-cannoli,cassata and fresh fruit with custard.If you are going to Marsala to go wine tasting, the hotel is located next to the major producers/cellars in the city. The staff happily let us print work documents and helped us scan them.

Review 40：From the splendid entrance this boutique hotel really is impressive! Lovely grounds and well looked after communal areas, very welcoming and friendly staff, especially our receptionist Sandra. We stayed for our anniversary celebration, they kindly upgraded our room. Not only this they also wrote us a card and presented us with sweet wine and treats when we got to our room, it was wonderful. Our room was gorgeous, and the bathroom very clean. The breakfast was delicious and a range of foods to choose from. It is a short drive from the centre or 20minute walk of which we enjoyed! We highly recommend it.

Review 50：How did this place get a five star rating? Restaurant was closed -nearby restaurant owned by hotel also closed for dinner. Location toofar from any other eating facilities Air conditioning did not worktherefore window needed to be open so room was very noisy. After enquirywe were told that the air-con was on 'hot' and could not be changed soroom was very hot. Tv did not work just fuzz. Breakfast was not even upto three star standard. We have had better rooms in a three star hotel.No tea and coffee making facilities which would be expected in a fivestar hotel.

Review 62：The location of the hotel is not ideal along a bussy road next to some empty industrial buildings, we found it not really disturbing, but for a five star hotel it is a bit strange. Hotel staff was very helpful en friendly, only negative experience was the ordered taxi to the airport very in the early morning. We ordered it 2 days in affront, asked 2 times for a confirmation, still the desk employee seemed to be surprised when we asked him where our tax was? So we had to wait fot the taxi and were a little late at the airport (which wasn’t a problem eventually)

Review 64：We choose the hotel for being 5 stars and a good price, as we usuallydo. However, the hotel had the look, position of a 5 star hotel, theservice was at best a 3 star. The reception staff was very nice and gaveus good suggestion for dining, however it became defensive when wecomplaint about the quality of the room and the service of the cleaningstaff. She said that we have that type of room because the special pricethat we paid. I never expected that answer. I told her that Booking.comlists your hotel as 5 star and it does not indicate that the price thatyou pay gives you less service. I have used 5 stars hotel at a goodprice many times before and always received a 5 star service. The roomwas comfortable, but the bathroom lacked the amenities of a 5 starhotel. There were 2 small bar soaps, one small bottle of body wash, andone plastic cup, 1/2 roll of toilette paper - there was two of us. Onetowel bar and not enough to hang the other towels. Later at night wecame back from dinner and found the bed done, but still no cupsreplacement and no more toilette paper. The next morning I went down tothe reception to get my own toilette paper. The dirty wine glasses and awater glass that I took from breakfast were still there and the waistbasket were still full after the room was cleaned that day. When Imentioned it to the receptionist, she defended herself saying that thatpart gets done later. It was 5:00 P.M. I don't think so. Right aftersomeone came with more plastic cups. I could go on, but I believe yougot the picture.

Review 67：I loved the old building and the decor of the hotel, the location by the sea and the convenience of the car park. The gardens and pool area were lovely and well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable, although could have done with mirrors or pictures on the wall. We only had breakfast in the dining room which was pleasant and the service was good. The reception staff were helpful on advising where to go and the local sights.

Review 68：To be the five star hotel it claims to be there are a lot of details that need sharpening up: topping up juice & empty plates during breakfast, double glazing to muffle the noise of the railway & main road the standard rooms look out over, high quality toiletries, poolside drink service, etc, etc. The location, with a walk along a main road with no pavements to get into town, is also not what one would expect for a luxury hotel. The lack of these services weren't a problem, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, but with just a few changes in management approach it could be so much closer to what it claims to be.

Review 70：Unfortunately it is not a 5* hotel more a low 4* at best. Do not have dinner at the hotel we did one night and it was like something out of Faulty Towers. The main course was 'escalope' although we were not sure what of!! The standard of food reminded us of school. Marsala is not a 'happening' place and if you're staying more than a few days better get a car - driving is an experience. I'm sure there are some rules of driving but we couldn't work out what they were, it's pretty much a game of chicken I think.

Review 71：Nice hotel near the marina, a good 15 minutes walk in to town. Very nice restaurant a few hundred yards away called the Bucaneer. Staff were all very pleasant. A good selection of cakes for breakfast and if you ask they will make you boiled or scrambled eggs. Very nice terrace on the 2nd floor which is a sun trap from which you can watch teh setting sun. We had a nice time and other than dinner we had no real complaints, we were just out of season so maybe the chef was still in training!
