Reviews for Ashley Lodge Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:No issues, great value.
Review 2:Location, professionalism, service, friendliness, quality. This is a gorgeous big house with so much to offer for the money - cannot recommend more.
Review 3:We arrived on Boxing Night and were warmly welcomed. The room was very clean and warm. The breakfast the next morning was fresh and very tasty and the location to the port was ideal.
Review 4:All was perfect. The room was lovely and very clean. Same mind for the bathroom. The receptionist was vey welcoming and pampered. The breakfast was delicious with a copious full irish breakfast. If you prefer to eat another thing, she will offer you that what you want.
Review 5:Disappointing breakfast with unimpressive coffee, factory style bread and undistinguished cooked breakfast. Also we had misunderstood the website and thought that breakfast was included in the price. It wasn't and so the price did not seem as good as it did when we booked. We will be more careful in future! But if we search under the term 'Bed & Breakfast' we expect breakfast to be included.
Review 6:very convenient for Rosslare port. Friendly host (Margaret). Quiet, with comfortable bed.
Review 7:Excellent location for the ferry port (one of our main criteria), and a warm friendly welcome from Margaret the proprietor. We had a very nice double room, spotlessly clean and beautifully looked after, and Margaret took great care of us, including providing a great breakfast.
Review 8:The price advertised did not include breakfast! It always has in the past so I did not think to check. I have never come across this before when booking B&B's.
Review 9:Location.
Review 10:When we had 5 mins to drive, had a complaining phone call from proprietor because it was 9.55pm and we hadn't arrived. Then when we arrived and wanted our bed there was attempts at big chat.
Review 11:Proximity to ferry and peaceful. Clean and comfortable.
Review 12:The size of the TV and apparent lack of Irish television channels.
Review 13:Fine bright bedroom with excellent view of the garden. Excellent meal with a good selection of fruit, cereals & cooked breakfast.
Review 14:We arrived a little early and made very welcome. They recommended a 10 minute walk to a local Pub and had a very good Evening meal. We cannot fault this place, it was immaculate in every way. We would certainly stay again.
Review 15:The hospitality was excellent and the cleanliness was very good. Margeret was exceptionally welcoming and provided good information about the area as well as making the visit seem like a visit to a friend. Would highly recommend
Review 16:Like an awful lot of these places, they use a waterproof mattress protector on the beds which causes people to sweat. We don't like this and prefer locations where they think of the user rather than the bed.
Review 17:After not having a gluten free breakfast, I was ill all day. The lady seemed unfriendly, acted suspicious of us because we each had our own room. We had planned to stay on our return journey, but canceled.
Review 18:The bed was rather hot.
Review 19:The accommodation was beautifully kept and the owner friendly and attentive. Breakfast was superb. I'd stay again tomorrow!
Review 20:The facilities were very good and location for boat was perfect. However the owners were far from friendly and we were advised to keep our 3.5 and 1.5 year old under control after 9 I clock. My children are well behaved if only a bit excited at prospect of heading away on holidays on a boat the next morning. I felt uncomfortable and were afraid if boys made the slightest noise.
Review 21:Everything! Margaret is a very accommodating hostess. Rooms are spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable and the site is quiet and just 5 minutes from the ferry.
Review 22:We had difficulty finding Ashley Lodge as the GPS does not function in Rosslare. More specific info. would have helped us find Ashley.
Review 23:Proximity to the ferry
Review 24:Hostess welcoming with excellent advice on where to eat dinner. Breakfast was one of the best I have had and just at the time we wanted it. Room was spotless.
Review 25:Couldn't really understand the difference in price on booking.com from our 1st stay & 2nd, as we ordered 2 breakfasts for our 1st stay, as it was not included! But the 2nd stay was 10 euro's more??
Review 26:The two rooms we had were well equipped & clean & linen & bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent & filled you up until teatime. Wifi really easy to access. Early full cooked breakfast at 7am to enable us to catch the early ferry on our departure.
Review 27:Not being able to have more time in which to enjoy the excellent breakfast, as we had to leave for an early ferry crossing!!
Review 28:Everything-the friendly Irish welcome with tea and cake in the pleasant lounge, the cleanliness & comfort, the breakfast and the excellent wifi access.
Review 29:we opened the window because it was a warm night which made the door rattle which was a bit annoying to us and probably to other guests.
Review 30:everything, breakfast was excellent
Review 31:Nothing not to not like about this B & B.
Review 32:First class accommodation with clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms. The breakfast was outstanding. Away from the main road so very tranquil.
Review 33:Not a negative thing to report. The blame for the fact we couldn't find it at first, is all down to our car's outdated nav.
Review 34:Perfect quiet location, close to the ferry for the return trip. Margaret is a truly outstanding host, Irish hospitality at its best. Breakfast was lovely as well.
Review 35:Margret accommodated us with an early breakfast and a free cot. It was a pleasant stay and Margret is warm friendly and attentive host. We will be definitely be returning some time in the future
Review 36:Location.Ideal for going to the ferry in Rosslare, otherwise there is not much to do in the area. 11am checkout is early.
Review 37:Margeret was nice and the breakfast was lovely. Rooms were fine and was good value for money.
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:A very warm welcome and a superb breakfast. We stayed twice, on our way to Kerry and returning to UK. Very convenient location for the early Irish Ferry to Pembroke.
Review 40:It was off the main Dublin - Rosslare Road, so less easy to find in the dark. But once we were told, it was straightforward.
Review 41:The welcome tray. Clean facilities. Nice breakfast.
Review 42:Couldnt actually find any negatives other than fact there was a smoker in one of the other rooms which was unpleasant as we dont have that problem in Wales.
Review 43:Great personal welcome with attention to deatail and customers need high on agenda.Breakfast was superb and very plentifull.First class.
Review 44:Ideal location for the ferry; we stayed both inbound after a 19.00 ferry arrival and outbound on the 8.45. We had a very warm welcome and a superb breakfast. Margaret was very accomodating and offered to fill our flask for the homeward journey.
Review 45:Everything was as expected with a well appointed room. We appreciated the water jug as well as the tea and coffee facilities and excellent WiFi. Everything was very clean and breakfast was better than most hotels. Margaret is a very good host and we would recommend Ashley Lodge to anyone. Also very quiet at night. We stayed twice and would certainly return again
Review 46:The B&B was very warm and cosy. The towels were soft and the beds were warm and very comfortable. Margaret was very welcoming and remembered from a previous booking which I had to cancel that I required a gluten free breakfast (even though I had forgotten to mention it in this booking)This was the first time I ever got gluten-free sausages in a B&B! Breakfast was delicious! A lovely experience and I will definitely stay here again on my next overnight for the ferry.
Review 47:No negative thoughts
Review 48:Have stayed here many times. Margaret is a superb host and nothing is to much trouble. A lovely place to stay and so near the ferry
Review 49:Everything was perfect! My boyfriend and I will defo be back.
Review 50:The woman who owns this b&b is so lovely. She made us feel very welcome and the room was beautiful. The beds were very clean and comfortable , power shower was brilliant and she supplied the room with all amenities you would find in a hotel. She even left water jugs, tea, coffee and chocolate bars for us which was a nice treat! Would highly recommend this b&b to anyone . We didn't have breakfast but from the smells coming down the hall,it smelt great :-)
Review 51:Margaret was welcoming and helpful in every way. The accommodation was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and set us up for journey ahead. All was as we had hoped. We will certainly have no hesitation in using this B&B again.
Review 52:Absolutely nothing
Review 53:Margaret was lovely and friendly and knowledgeable. Room was luxurious and comfortable Very quiet location considering close to main road. Excellent breakfast.
Review 54:It was lovely to have such a good welcome when we arrived. Very cosy and very clean and tidy. Host very attentive and lovely to be treated to coffee and treats in the lounge. So homely and comfortable.
Review 55:I use Ashley Lodge for stop overs with my wife when travelling into Ireland.....as well as with friends when visiting Ireland for Rallies. I can't rate it highly enough... The welcome is fantastic ....Well done Margaret...you run a fantastic B and B.
Review 56:"Did not like" is too strong a criticism to use but the shower in the ensuite we stayed in could do with a little more power in the flow of water from the shower head. It was OK, but had a weakish flow. Maybe there was something we needed to adjust? Never mind, it did not take away from our enjoyable stay at Ashley Lodge.
Review 57:Friendly, welcoming landlady. Comfort, cleanliness, food, warmth - TV were all first class. We thoroughly enjoyed our night and our excellent breakfast. Will definitely stay again next time we travel from Rosslare.
Review 58:nothing!

Review 60:The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable. There was a good selection for breakfast, the owner was very attentive, offering warm milk, extra toast etc, we were well looked after.
Review 61:Made booking late in the evening and requested a cot for our little girl. Arrived an hour later and it was in the room. Margaret did not want us to register, trust like this is only seen outside Dublin. Much appreciated though as we were tired and needed to wash off beach sand if us and the little one. In the morning we were provided with tasty full Irish breakfast made by Margaret. Very good host, highly recommended!
Review 62:Could have been a bit cleaner and just let down by a few minor details.
Review 63:Great spot to stop before catching the ferry as it was handy to the terminal but off the main roads, so quiet. Good full breakfast served early to allow us to catch the ferry.
Review 64:Excellent B&B. The way all should be run. Made feel welcome from the very beginning of our short stay until the end. Excellent breakfast. Can't recommend highly enough
Review 65:No response to our phone message. No one to greet us. We booked a room with private bathroom but it was not attached to our room and to access we had to pass entrance foyer, kitchen and breakfast area. Breakfast area crowded and cluttered. Tables too small.
Review 66:Room clean and comfortable. Nice location.
Review 67:The bed was very hard and the shower was uncomfortably hot.
Review 68:The owner was friendly and helpful in answering our questions about places to eat and planning to catch the ferry the following morning.
