Reviews for Casale Del Golfo
Review 1:No savery at breakfast only sweet
Review 2:Fruit at breakfast was good . Pool and the room was nice . Friendly staff dinner was very good but little expensive .
Review 3:The room was rather small as well for the bathroom. But for a couple of days no biggie. What was very inconvenient was the bed, which had a 'hole' on both sides
Review 4:Great location (frmer winery which has recently been restored) for day trips to San Vito, Scopello, Erice, etc. Very relaxed and quiet spot with a nice pool. Good service and a very nice host (Andrea). Good food and breakfast (typically Sicilian) as well.
Review 5:Poor approach road - ie: broken concrete and untidy. Clearer signs pointing you to the Casale are much needed. Rooms small and bathroom very small. Knees touching the door, whilst sitting 'on the throne'!! However the owners told us that improvements will be carried out once the 2015 season is over.
Review 6:Very pleasant Staff. Especially Andrea, the manager. Lovely quiet setting and views of the surrounding mountains. Beautiful pool area. Good restaurant serving lunch and dinner. Nice selection of wines. BUT, - breakfast ???? No comment!
Review 7:Nothing. I liked everything
Review 8:The setting of this casale is very beautiful, and the quiet ambience together with the beautiful views made our holiday complete. We had dinner there and the food was really good too.
Review 9:initatilly I little hard to find slightly of the Road . Towels could use some softener in them they had to be the ruffis towel I encounter not a biggy a simple fix
Review 10:Excellent service fantastic and extremely efficient staff made my stay extremely comfortable .
Review 11:The service was great and especially thanks to the good and friendly services of Andreas, our stay was very good. The environment is beautiful and we really enjoyed out stay. It was a pity there was no fresh bread with cheese or ham for breakfast. Though the dinners are very pleasant.
Review 12:Missing sunbed by the pool Rooms are a bit small
Review 13:Staffs was superbly welcoming. andrea was particularly helpfull. The location was quiet yet close to city. Landscape was superb Cats and dog as well as horses made the stay pleasant Nice food was served for diner
Review 14:We stayed for 4 nights at this lovely hotel. It is in a great location, close to the town but when you are in the hotel itself you feels completely isolated in the beautiful surroundings. The hotel has a somewhat rustic feel to it. The room was nice, and the pool area was clean and quiet. They also had some friendly animals roaming around. The best things about the hotel however were the friendly staff (who also came and collected us when we got lost on arrival), and the restaurant. We only planned to eat there for one night of our stay however after trying the amazing food (in a beautiful setting and reasonably priced) we decided to eat there every night! We would definitely return to this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone that wants a quiet, relaxed holiday in a beautiful location.
Review 15:The room was damp and when it rained water poured in the closed window. The room was damp but the view was great! Because of this I found the rate expensive. We arrived at night and it was impossible to find - although the staff were great and came and found us and we followed them back. There was a party on the Saturday night but it didn't bother us was we were far enough away, if you were staying nearer I can imagine it would be to much.
Review 16:The staff were great and the food really good, my kids loved the dogs and kittens. The setting is beautiful and the pool really nice.
Review 17:Not easy to find, but worth it once we had.
Review 18:Lovely family friendly feel. We were offered a cup of coffee as we arrived, somewhat frazzled after being lost! Friendly cats and dogs. Couldn't do enough for us!
Review 19:Very good breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff and friendly animals. Very nice location and easy to find with good coordinats. Very clean and comfortable rooms and a nice pool area.
Review 20:Everything!! The food was consistently delicious.... The staff were always wonderful.... The location was utterly superb.... The room was completely perfect....
Review 21:The breakfast room was lovely but rather hot - some ceiling fans, or fans by the tables maybe? It probably depends on the weather. Unfortunately for our 2 night stay, the pool was being (very thoroughly) cleaned, so we didn't get a dip, but as we left it looked nice!
Review 22:The buildings: beautiful layout, lovely stone, picturesque. The location: countryside quiet, golden eagles and bee eaters overhead. The staff: they couldn't do enough for you and were charming. Pino is a great host, Chiara and her colleague looked after us attentively, Vicenzo is a fantastic chef (swordfish with pistachio crust!) The food: incredible breakfast, especially the canelli!!!! 2 amazing dinners, beautifully prepared, eating out by the pool. Excellent Angimbé wine from local vineyard, served freschissimo by Pino. The dog, who liked a walk with us, the kittens who sat on our laps and purred. A charming team in a charming location. So glad we found it.
Review 23:Without a car it is not easy to reach
Review 24:We had a lovely stay at Casale Del Golfo. Quietly located not far from Castellamare Del Golfo (5 min drive) and Zingaro Park (20 min drive). The staff was really friendly and made us feel at home right away! There is a beautiful little pool with a nice view. The food in the restaurant was good and we loved the atmosphere. Little kittens playing, horses in the backyard and a couple of lovely dogs walking around the place. - Nice and quiet location - Friendly staff made us feel at home right away - Beautiful pool with a view -
Review 25:The staff were so friendly and helpful, the location is beautiful, so peaceful. The food was fresh and typical, excellent restaurant staff, service & choice. We missed lunch so they brought us plates of fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, nuts...all free so we could just stay by the pool and enjoy ourselves. A wonderful break.
Review 26:Make sure you check a very exact GPS location to be able to arrive there without a problem, as it's located in a remote area (but close to a main road)
Review 27:Great location in a small valley far away from noisy city. Swimming pool. Great food! Friendly staff. You can easily spend whole day over there. If you love animals, it's great to be there: horses, cats, dogs everywhere!
Review 28:We had a lovely stay at Casale del Golfo! The people working there are most welcoming and nice! The food is incredible! We had everything we needed and surely we will return!
Review 29:Our room was below-ground and the open window had no screen on it. Some kind of cricket insect had flown in and it made noises all night. There is a light commuter rail line close by but it is practically noiseless.
Review 30:Tucked away from the main road this is a calm, bucolic oasis at the bottom of an ancient crater. Set up as a dude ranch with some horses roaming free. Outside in-ground pool great for sunbathing and BBQ party. In-house restaurant offers an excellent dinner menu. The cook was on hand to prepare our copious early breakfast as we had had a flight to catch.
Review 31:A little bit humid room, toilet without window or ventilation. Dogs arruond the propiety. Cats in the restaurant.
Review 32:The swimming pool.
Review 33:Could have better sun beds and more shade but still fantastic
Review 34:Everything, one of the best pools, a gem of a place
Review 35:Room smelled of citronella. Bed ok
Review 36:Dinner was great! Too much all at once , but delicious. Great pool. Nice host.
Review 37:Too many cats in the eating area
Review 38:Staff very helpful
Review 39:No wi-fi in the rooms
Review 40:Food Ambience Staff with a smile Friendly dog Cleanliness
Review 41:When trying to get there using the gps coordinates we got to a hill in front of the casale with no direct access to it. It's better to look at the map first!!! There are boards pointing to the Casale but they are not so good visible.
Review 42:Casale del Golfo is a good starting point for visiting the west side of Sicilia. It's quite accessible from the road and close to Castellamare del Golfo. The staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help in making our stay pleasant. It was also possible to ride horses. Breakfast was excellent!.
Review 43:way from feeder road downhill to the place. Needs some efforts to find the right track for keeping the exhaust (if you are not using a 4WD). A few sleeping rooms have no windows - not very pleasant. Ask before booking.
Review 44:Very Friendly staff. Quiet place. Good restaurant, short distance from motorway
Review 45:One bedroom we used (no 7?) had no window in main room & a very firmbed. No water/glasses provided in bedroom (but provided on request). All linens changed daily, which is not very 'eco-friendly'.Nowadays many hotels & guests co-operate to reduce waste & saveenergy, which we would prefer.
Review 46:Peaceful rural setting - the little train (passed by very rarely) wasunobtrusive & rather fun! Hotel/pool in rustic buildingsrestored both sympathetically & comfortably. Food very good -generous breakfast & interesting, delicious evening menu includingpizzas from outdoor wood-fired oven. Rooms very clean & spacious, rustic and comfortable. Staff very helpful - many guests (like us) getlost on first arrival & are rescued en route & guided by car tothe hotel! Hotel ambiance is very relaxed & unobtrusive - you canwander round everywhere. Very easy access to motorway - good fortouring around.
Review 47:Wonderful environment with a huge amount of natural stones, small but nice rooms, big mountains all around, far away from the noise of town. It is amazing that there are real, huge and beautiful horses (who are eating apples from my hand :) ) in the garden and a lot of exotic palms around. The whole place is very nice and friendly. In the evening lights in the garden are colorful and gorgeous. The pool is very nice and clear near to the pleasant open-air restaurant. The oven-baked pizza is tasty and the owners are very nice, friendly and helpful people. Everything is fantastic! Just a couple of shelves would be good in the cupboard.
Review 48:Very small rooms, one is without a window
Review 49:Beautifull place, nicely arranged and structured in an country style for feeling good and relaxed. Breakfast was very good with nice coffee.
Review 50:just a small thing but breakfast could be more substantial, cereal fruit? But is was fine and seems to be the typical Sicilian breakfast.
Review 51:Great hotel in the countryside, lovely pool, room nice and clean, so near Palermo airport ( 30 mi s) and handy when we arrived late at night.
Review 52:It is difficult to find If you want to stay this hotel you shoud have a car
Review 53:This hotel is really very good If you want to relax holiday. You should go there.
Review 54:Far from the city center
Review 55:The coffee, the staff,
