Reviews for Elsa Hotel

Review 1:Would have benefitted from a set of draws in the room if you were there for more that a couple of nights. Owners were lovely when you got to chat to them but no one introduced themselves. Would be helpful if they had a few island maps or some information available. However these are minor points and we would stay there again.

Review 2:Good location on the outskirts of the main town easy access in the evenings but more of breeze and cooler in the evenings. Good size room and nice balcony. Lovely pool area. Nice meals available from pool bar.

Review 3:The location was right on a main road as was the swimming pool area, this was noisy and not particularly pleasant for relaxing around the pool.

Review 4:The room was fine and the gardens were nicely kept

Review 5:I was visiting my children on holidays and they stayed for a few nights. The cooker had no markings on it and when it was turned off I couldn't turn it off. I asked several times to get it fixed and the lady could not speak English. When I arrived back in the evening of reporting it the lady had actually set the cooker to high. My child set a pair of flip flops on the top of the cooker part (not clever, but there is no space to put anything anywhere else) and the flip flops stared burning and set off the fire alarm. I had to ask other guests to look at the settings of their cooker to adjust the settings as the lady told me it would be fixed at 1am?

Review 6:Pool facility on site with bar looked good although did not use the pool. Pretty good location. Value for money

Review 7:Very uncomfortable mattress, could feel every lump and bump and broken spring. I'm not the Princess of the pea fame, and still found it hard to sleep!

Review 8:Pool was good, staff friendly. Nice little 'garden' outside room.

Review 9:Coming home ;-)

Review 10:The island and the hotel! People are so friendly - clean - felt safe - everything you need! very reasonable!!!! Couldnt have been made to feel more welcome if they tried! We loved it!

Review 11:Very very uncomfortable materass. Air conditioning not included, but online doesn't say it, the owner asked us 5 euro extra per day for it (per 7 dd). breakfast not included, when online say it is. cold showers all day and night long and the staff looks also irritated if you go and ask for reasons or what time the hot water may come back as is something normal in Elsa Hotel..... and a really unapproachable, unfriendly team. traffic noise if you stay by the pool... uncomfortable even for a backpacker.

Review 12:The pool that look nice but very cold water and the little balcony we had outside the our room window even if the Hotel face the ring road.

Review 13:The only things that I found mildly annoying, was the shower curtain being a touch too short, thus allowing water from the shower to flood the bathroom floor, meaning wet foot prints are traipsed throughout the room. Also the air conditioner had a cut off switch wired to the patio door, meaning, quite sensibly that the air-con wouldn't work with the door open. As there was no handle on the outside of the door, it was impossible to sit out on the balcony, whilst the air-con unit cooled the room. These though, are very minor niggles, and would in no way put me off stopping again.

Review 14:Although around a ten minute uphill walk out of town, this hotel is in a great location on the ring road, with a fifteen minute frequency bus service linking it with the town, and various beaches and resorts along the south coast of Skiathos. The staff were welcoming, and although the room was a little dated, it suited our needs perfectly. After all, you don't notice the dated look when you're asleep. The room was provided with basic cooking facilities including a sink, and a two ring electric hob. There was a fridge, which was great for chilling the beers, a kettle, and a selection of cutlery and crockery were also provided. The bedding was changed about three times over the course of the week, which is something I like, as it keeps any staff intrusion to a minimum, and ensures a bit of privacy. Outside there's a lovely swimming pool, which is of a decent size and depth to be able to allow a proper dip. A kiddies paddling pool is also attached. Next to this the poolside bar serves a wide range of drinks, from coffee to frappe, to beers and wines, and also does a good range of good value snacks. All in all, a great little base from which to explore the beautiful island of Skiathos.

Review 15:The service. The owner was never available to talk to. Over priced for location and place. The sheets were never changed and the first night we got there they were dirty and when we asked to change them the cleaner insisted that the dirt marks were from the bleach and didn't change them. The shower was very small. There was mould in all the cabinets in the kitchen and on the ceiling in the bathroom. The aircon didn't work properly. Very unhappy, didn't even bother using the pool.

Review 16:I dont know

Review 17:We booked a 1week stay for the last week of july about 2 months beforethe date of departure and, even if it was written that the credit cardwouldn't have been charged, two days before the arrival the hotelcharged me the entire price of the holiday. Until that everithing was okand we tought it was a mistake. When we arrived to the hotel we had thesurprise.. We booked and paied for a "pool view room". But thehotel gave us (2 couples) two old and not restructured rooms that weredetached and over the structure where our view was made by parked carand that were next to the public toilet. The rooms where old and dirty, there were roaches that climbed from the shower plumbing and the"clean" towel and bed sheets where already dirty and spotted, the bathrooms where old and nonfuncional and in one of them wasimpossible to have the shower... .We immediately told to the owner thatthere was a mistake but she continued to say that she did that in orderto make our stay more "reserved". She told us that the dayafter she would have changed our rooms but every moring she told us thatshe couldn't do that because she didn't know if somebody had toleave the room... She keept lie us for the rest of the holiday sayingthat she didn't know what she coould do and was rude and bothered ofour licit request!!

Review 18:The main structure and the pool is nice even if quite far fromthe centre.

Review 19:Not satisfactory for the fee I paid. Plumbing needs replacement as it is very old. It did not offer even soap for the hands. Not very close to the center.

Review 20:Pleasant, quiet room.

Review 21:Warm, welcoming, very clean, rooms, Elsa and her family are lovely. They made our first time in Skiathos relaxed and carefree. Don't think twice about booking here. Easy walk to town, bus stop nearby. My first time here and if I go back to lovely Skiathos I would stay here everytime. Thank you Elsa xxx

Review 22:Hotel located in the top of the city anf far away from down town. The day We arrive they gave us different room that we payed for, they told us that the next day will switch it but didn't .the room looked filthy , the pillow was hard and the matress was in bad shape. The bathroom didn't have any soap (according to the owner this didn't have any used) and the air conditioner was locked . For all these reasons We these to change to another hotel but first We had to pay the next 2 nigths otherwise they didn't return us our passport that kept the nigth before...a robbery!!!. The only good think was the pool

Review 55:Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms fairly basic but functional. The grounds are well kept with a pool, sunbeds and bar. Only about 10 minute easy walk to the centre of town. Very good value for money.

Review 56:Not a lot to dislike. The rooms have Air Conditioning, safe and hair drier but are otherwise quite basic (as you expect in Greece) and getting "tired"

Review 57:Run by a lovely family who create a perfect environment for a relaxing holiday. Well situated for a 20 minute walk into town if you want a change from the pool bar. 300 metres to either bus stop 2 or 3. Close to the ring road but not too much traffic noise.

Review 58:Rooms need upgrading especially the bathrooms. Significant noise from steel workshop alongside, as well as from the road.
