Reviews for Domus Bernardiniana

Review 1:The rooms are a bit noisy or if other guests don't consider to be quiet in the middle of the night.

Review 2:Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is only a few minutes from the centre.

Review 3:Study a map carefully before you arrive. If you're coming from the north, you have to do a big detour around the south of the town to get here. The "obvious" approach road from the north turns out to be a one way street.

Review 4:Simple accommodation in an ex-convent in beautiful Tuscan hillside town.

Review 5:Breakfast is uneatable, the worst that I ever had in Italy. Wifi is available only downstairs at the reception. Bed was extremely uncomfortable.

Review 6:The price and a strange experience of living in an old monastery. The view from the top floor. Ok for a one-night stay on the road but only if you are curious for some unodinary experience. Honestly my friend found this place a bit creep but i liked it.

Review 7:The breakfast wasn't as good as other places and the bed was too soft. We struggled with the heat and could have done with a fan but realise this is not included.

Review 8:It was clean with a beautiful view

Review 9:The court was sometimes very loud In the night, because of Wi- Fi Location. They had 4 coffee machines With malfunction.

Review 10:Especial building in a beutiful town.

Review 11:Bathroom was dated

Review 12:The setting was wonderful, good access to the town. Staff really helpful, changed our room for a larger one. Peaceful serene atmosphere

Review 13:Wi-fi very limited within 25 feet of the reception area. No TV or radio in the rooms and one TV in the tv room.

Review 14:Staff very polite and would go out of their way to make my stay more comfortable.

Review 15:An extra blanket would have been nice - it was a bit cold in the evening. Empty, echoing hallways.

Review 16:Very handy to town. Cheap! Interesting part of the town's fabric.

Review 17:Nothing.

Review 18:The friendly and helpful staff, the quiet atmosphere, the comfortable room, the lovely generous breakfast etc. If you have your own transport, it is a great place to stay and from which to visit the beautiful. surrounding countryside. Best value we have had in Italy by far!

Review 19:It will be hard to get this hotel with heavy luggage and without a car. The reception was not open at 3pm when I arrived so I had to call the number which was presented by the door. The person came to let me in didn't speak English at all so I had to communicate with my limitted knowledge of Italian/French words and gestures. It was kind of fun to me but some people might be upset.

Review 20:Very quiet environment. There is a lift and fridge. Everything needed in economy hotel was there in working order.

Review 21:Difficult to find

Review 22:If you want clean and comfortable accomodation for the night I would recommend here. It's very good value although basic. A chance to stay in an interesting property. I wasn't expecting much of a breakfast having read other reviews but it was very good with plenty of options. They did have trouble with the coffee machine the morning I was there but that's just bad luck

Review 23:simple and bare without any attempt to make the room friendly. breakfast: any amount and variety of dry breads. Room cleaned an sprayed with poisonous smelling detergents. Feels like an asylum, not a guest house, made me feel like a culprit grudgingly accomodated. Maybe all right for seminarians or woeful pilgrims.

Review 24:location

Review 25:Very comfortable, clean room in converted convent. Excellent breakfast. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Review 26:WIFI only works near reception area

Review 27:over all good , clean, nice staff , quiet place very close to city center

Review 28:I have really no idea

Review 29:The ideal place to discover Toscana and Maremma - nice, friendly, quiet, away from the masses of selfie-fishing tourists.

Review 30:Staff is very kind. Nearby the center of a beautifull small town.

Review 31:Interesting place to stay. Beautiful view. Simple style but has everything you need. Great location.

Review 32:Staff. Lack of response to request through booking.com. Short reception opening hours and failure to answer phone.

Review 33:Cheap. Clean.

Review 34:Peaceful stay in simple but completely acceptable accommodation

Review 35:wifi connection did not always work

Review 36:cheap and nice location, very quiet, wide parking

Review 37:nothing

Review 38:cheap price, wide parking

Review 39:Loo impossibly located up against shower. Odd breakfast room

Review 40:Great location, parking, value

Review 41:The breakfast was poor.

Review 42:great view, original atmosphere of an old monastery

Review 43:Breakfast was not very continental, rather a Macdonald's version of it. Sounds from other rooms seemed to echo through the walls and vents.

Review 44:The location was great for itself and as a base...very clean room, friendly staff and very reasonable price.

Review 45:This place offers what a usual hotel will never give you - an climate of a medieval monastery on a hill with a great view from the windows. The host is a very friendly man willing to tell more about the history of the place. You get all you need a clean bed, sheets, bathroom, basic services. I highly recommend.

Review 46:we booked two rooms for our 5 persons family, but it was enough space for us in one - two separate spaces/room! Were 5 beds! 1 double and 3 regular ones, but we just couldn't book it without taking other one. ofcourse, we had to pay full price for both rooms.- not fair

Review 47:The architecture of the hotel, view throught the windowswere wonderful.

Review 48:Nothing

Review 49:This is obviously not a 5 star hotel but if you're looking for a comfortable and decently priced accommodation in Massa Marittima, Domus Bernardiniana is simply the best option. Beautiful, peaceful location and genuinely friendly staff! If I happen to be in this area again, I'll definitely stay at DB.

Review 50:Arrived late in the night and received nice welcome from the lady. All people working there are very helpful and kind - we really felt like valued guests. Great, great bathroom and amazing view from the windows overlooking fabulous Italian landscape. Delicious breakfast - italian style :) Highly recommended place in lovely ancient Italian town .

Review 51:Nothing. We enjoyed our stay.

Review 52:As a former convent, the Domus Bernardiniana is austere and simple, but very comfortable and welcoming. Our room was a good size and the ensuite bathroom was large and sparkling clean. It was simply, but well furnished. There was no TV in our room but, as is often the case with former church establishments, there was a TV room near the lobby. (We did not miss the TV at all, as Massa Marittima is a lovely and fascinating town to visit with lots to see.) Breakfast was quite good - enough to start the day off well. The location in Massa Marittima is excellent - with some restaurants nearby and everything within easy walking distance. Parking was excellent. In addition, the staff was very pleasant, especially the gentleman at reception who spoke good English and was most helpful.

Review 53:Central location, helpful receptionist, wifi, quietness, garden, parking facilities, central heating, price and the chance to sleep in a beautiful convent.

Review 54:We liked it, nice inexpensive place, friendly staff, clean rooms, free parking and wi-fi, and fantastic view from room windows.

Review 55:It was interesting a former convent with echoing hallways. The staff were kind and welcoming and really we felt it was great value for money!

Review 56:Clean, comfortable

Review 57:The breakfast was really poor

Review 58:The position inside the walls was very good; the parking was big and for free. The building is very old and fascinating.

Review 59:only sweet breakfast, beds were very uncomfortabel (soft),

Review 60:free WI FI in the lobby; very quiet,

Review 61:Very poor breakfast, it's better to take just the room for sleeping.

Review 62:The quietness of the place and all the history of the building.
