Reviews for Ramon Suites by Smart Hotels
Review 1:My experience was very good, however I would have appreciated closet hanging space.
Review 2:The staff was exceptional and very willing to help any way they could. They helped when I was having trouble with the internet and did not make me feel stupid. But more importantly the honesty of the hotel staff was truly appreciated.I had left behind my diamond ring and they kept it for me and in fact tried to figure out various ways to get it to me so that I would not have to make trip down to Mitzpeh Ramon. In the end I did go back and they were very warm and friendly. Thank you.
Review 3:Nothing that I really didn't like.
Review 4:The staff was very pleasant and helpful with suggestions of things to do in the area. The location is close to the Machtesh, about one block. The rooms were very comfortable, and the breakfast was really good.
Review 5:That there is no heating of the pool and even the place the pool is situated in, was not heated and it was freezing. It was hard to enjoy and impossible to use the pool!! Breakfast offered a very nice variety of foods but some of them were not fresh- a real pity- like the bread and the yellow cheeses. We did not know that the suite was actually an apartment, we came with my niece and her 2 little kids. We could have all been together and enjoyed the stay even more. There is also room for improvement in maintenance- peeling wall paint, old bathroom. Also expensive when I compare it to hotels I've stayed in in other countries!
Review 6:The size of the suites is good. The . variety of foods for breakfast The hotel is situated centrally and the staff are pretty nice but not always helpful.
Review 7:No elevator, so we had to climb stairs to the third floor. The microwave was broken, and the light over the bathroom sink was burned out. Floor tiles in the bedroom were loose. This appears to be a 1960's apartment building that has been converted to a motel.
Review 8:The free, in-room Wi-Fi worked well. The breakfast was excellent.
Review 9:Rooms should have tissues and better toiletries. There were some problems with Internet access during our stay.
Review 10:Rooms were spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Their English was good. Brittany, who ran the kitchen, was spectacular.
Review 11:I asked for two bikes when I booked many days before our arrival (never got an answer). Then we asked again upon arrival for the day after and the receptionist assured that there was no problem, we could just come to the reception at the time we wanted (we even gave the time) and we would get two bikes. The day after, the lady at the reception told us that they gave the bikes to someone else (whereas we came right after breakfast which only starts at 8am, which is silly in the desert since you want to start the activities before the heat gets unbearable...). She said she would keep them for us when they come back during the afternoon. At 6pm we still hadn't anything... In addition, don't think the rooms look like in the pictures they show on booking...they are not as nice!
Review 12:Lobby not that great. No elevators.
Review 13:Room was a great size- it was really a two bedroom apt! Spacious! Also very clean. The breakfast was excellent & the woman in charge very nice. She would make you any kind of omelet you wanted.
Review 14:the breakfast was basic and there is not place enough for all the guests. The shower equipment was old
Review 15:the room was comfortable, the location is very closed to the cliff
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:This was a very handy place for discovering and exploring the southern Negev. The staff were great - the breakfast buffet was very good and the room was large.
Review 18:Nothing really
Review 19:Easy quick check-in, and check out, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast. We stayed one night on the way to Eilat, was exactly what we needed for family with young kids, not luxurious, clean, comfortable, enough space for a family of five
Review 20:You had to walk outside to get to the room, not a problem most of the time, but I was there during a huge storm. When I took a bath there was a flood, and the bathroom needed renovation all together.
Review 21:I loved that the hotel is 300 meters from the Israel Trail. The bed was comfortable. The water was HOT. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly. And the room was large and had a kitchenette.
Review 22:Poor signage on the road to find the hotel. Also on booking.com its called Ramon Suites and on street sign called Ramon Hotel-. Although hotel was clean and staff was friendly the suite reminded me of an old college furnished apartment.
Review 23:It was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. It was convenient to restaurants.
Review 24:I really feel ripped off by this hotel and by Booking.com. I booked a family room for 4 but they decided that I had to pay almost double for my 11 and 13 year old kids to actually use the extra beds that were already there.
Review 25:The crater was amazing
Review 26:Tile floor is nice but since it was the winter, it was cold. The mattresses were comfortable but since I was with my girlfriend, the "full size" bed was just two mattresses put together. Not bad at all but not terrific.
Review 27:Good free breakfast! Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, good TV, good WiFi. Good hotel for tourists or locals. Only one block away from a delicious restaurant.
Review 28:$150 seems high to me for this hotel and location but I'm from US where similar accommodations cost less.
Review 29:Breakfast and dinner on Shabbat were excellent. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff on check-in was friendly and helpful.
Review 30:Old, thin bathroom towels. Very small shelf to place things on over the sink in the bathroom. Shower stall leaked water onto floor. Bed was not very comfortable
Review 31:Location...very close to Ramon Crater. 2 hours free use of bikes Convenient parking
Review 32:Nothing not to like
Review 33:The reception staff member was exceptional and helped with lots of suggestions for meals, taxi services and attending to small requests regarding the room. The breakfast was fabulous with plenty of fresh food alternatives beautifully prepared.
Review 34:Small appartment with sofa area and kitchen. Really new furniture and an excellent breakfast incuded. Pricewise it ws great as well, since booking allowed to safe quite a bit of money (75 USD vs, over 100 if booked directly with the hotel)
Review 35:Ramon Suites was an amazing experience. We arrived to be surprised withthe Presidential Suite (a free upgrade). The meticulous rooms included aliving area (including a massage recliner), kitchen(ette), a romanticbedroom and the bathroom with a jacuzzi and all amenities. They offereda scrumptious dinner (which we skipped, having already eaten) and thebreakfast was mouth-watering with a vast selection of dishes anddelicacies. However, what was extraordinary was their customer service. We had booked a "jeeping" tour with a company who'lost' our reservation. The receptionists assisted us withcalling half of the town for alternative arrangements. They gave usbicycles, recommended trails and got us a jeep tour.
Review 36:Some of the stairs are a bit narrow, making it difficult to bring heavy luggage up and down.
Review 37:My girlfriend and I booked a family suite in the hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the generous size of the accommodation and its furnishings. The staff were pleasant to deal with and the breakfast in the morning was a great start to the day.
Review 38:Nothing.
Review 39:Helpfulness of the desk staff and the food service staff at breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable, at a decent value compared to other lodging in the town.
Review 40:the hotel does not have a swimming pool :-( A little pricy, but a bargain thanks to Booking's secret deal (72$ instead of 192$ per night)
Review 41:the location is good, just a few minutes drive from the crater. The room was big, clean and tidy
Review 42:Hot water didn't work at first but staff were quick to fix it
Review 43:Good facilities, lovely little warm pool
Review 44:breakfast was mediocre by israeli hotel standards.
Review 45:great location. Room was clean and comfortable enough.
Review 46:Difficulty moving cases up and down stairs. A ramp access would be helpful.
Review 47:Spacious apartment. Friendly staff.
Review 48:great service, friendly staff.
Review 49:Stairs to the room. Cigarette/ cigar smells
Review 50:The size / space of the rooms-studios. Good wifi, Breakfast and service
Review 51:Very narrow single beds i
Review 52:No complaint
Review 53:The friendly staff who were happy to offer their services. The breakfast was excellent and britney shared her pancake recipe with us.
Review 54:All staffs were so friendly and there were many impressive tour sites near this hotel.
Review 55:Room wasn't particularly clean and Wi-fi was patchy
Review 56:Staff were helpful, Rooms are nice and Breakfast is good
Review 57:The room and staff were excellent.
Review 58:There was mould on the wall in our bedroom.
Review 59:The staff were very nice.
Review 60:Location Value for money
Review 61:Large room with a great location
Review 62:Annex facilitees cold use upgrade, but they did warn us about that.
Review 63:Location good. Nice staff in dining room. Food good, plentiful.
Review 64:got a free upgrate to a 2 bedroom suite, 2 minute walk from the Machtesch
Review 65:A no-frills hotel that takes itself seriously, in a marvelous small town where there is virtually no graffiti, next to a magnificent crater.
Review 66:Bruit inconfortable cher pour les prestations
Review 67:some of the bed linen, though clean, was stained. The breakfast could have been better
Review 68:Quiet, spacious, comfortable beds & everything worked
Review 69:The night receptionist didn't know how to get the Jacuzzi or the TV working. There was supposed to be a phone but it wasn't there and so was a little inconvenient to run down two floors to the reception a couple of times.
Review 70:The facilities were very good and so were the staff. It helped we had a good deal.
Review 71:Selection at breakfast was a bit smaller than in other Israeli hotels, but definitely sufficient and of good quality
Review 72:The apartment was very convenient and . well size with all needed facilities We especially enjoyed having a small external courtyard (available for apartments on ground level).
Review 73:5 minute walk to the rim of the Machtesh for stunning views. Nice spacious suite with decent size bathroom and shower with tub so water doesn't get everywhere. Convenient walk to restaurants. I recommend The Barrel which is just a 5 minute walk from hotel. Pretty good breakfast buffet
Review 74:The safe wasn't attached to anything (just placed on the closet shelf) so although you could put things in, a thief could carry the safe away! With such a hot climate, a pool would be great. No suitcase ramp from the car park. No elevator (helpful with suitcases). No filter coffee or juice for breakfast.
Review 75:The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning was excellent and the room was well-appointed.
Review 76:Great apartment. Clean, comfortable, with great views. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Will definitely stay there again next time we're in Mitzpe Ramon.
Review 77:A small thing: the living room could use a few standing lamps, instead of only having overhead lights.
Review 78:Great location, helpful desk staff, clean and comfortable beds in spacious rooms.
Review 79:If you visit the Maktesh Ramon the Ramon suites Hotel is perfectly placed. The promenade is within one minutes walk and after the day out in the maktesh one can just sit there and appreciate the expanse. The kitchenette with microvave is very well kept and sufficient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The shabbath dinner was something very special. Come the Negev again, I will visit Ramon Suites again.
Review 80:Just a little bit more, like shampoo in the bathroom and other such small amenities. Small stuff compared to the overall good impression.
Review 81:Hotel was clean with small but adequate rooms (a suite was 2 such rooms), a TV in each room, a kitchenette with pots, plates, kettle and sink. Very good location near the machtesh. Breakfast had an adequate choice, food was made fresh on the spot.
Review 82:Rack rate three times price on booking.com so definitely book inadvance!
Review 83:Roomy apartments, good satellite tv channels, good access to NorthernIsrael and Eilat, great breakfast
Review 84:There is no pool.
Review 85:The staff was very friendly and helpful - they gave us great mountain bikes and helped us to figure out the bus schedule. The breakfast was delicious and the area is beautiful.
Review 86:We booked a family suite but on arrival were told the family suite had a 'problem' and instead we had been allocated 2 mini suites on different floors! The hotel has adjacent rooms which can be separated from the rest of the building by an outside door but no 2 such rooms was available. Not very useful for a family with relatively young children. No price reduction was offered and in fact we were told we should be paying more because our 14 year old is considered an adult.
Review 87:Air-condition was not working, the room was keen-eared which got us out of bed earlier as we wanted. Breakfast was so, so. No freshly brewed coffee only instant coffee was available.
Review 88:The room was spacious and the Wi-Fi was good when it was working.
Review 89:The very efficient support achieved by the attentive General Manager and his friendly staff who helped me starting my rental car with the hotel owned booster cable. Great!! The very opulent and delicious breakfast served in the morning. It was a pleasure to stay at your hotel! Thank you!
Review 90:No lift to get us to our floor - we hadn't read the fine print which did tell us about it, but somehow we had missed it. There was no-one to help us with our luggage.
Review 91:Good location for having a jeep tour of the Makhtesh. The hotel staff were great at helping with a gluten-free meal for our dinner.
Review 92:limited water pressure in the shower
Review 93:has a great location near the crater; very friendly staff; spacious suite, including an upgrade, i think; good bed
Review 94:Couches were dirty. No bars of soap in the bathroom. No information, maps or brochures were available in the hotel. No information on tours or restaurants either.
Review 95:The breakfast was very good. The suites were very spacious. The front desk very friendly. Better for families looking for space.
Review 96:The hotel claims that my booking was impossible to cancel without full pay, USD 870. This choice must be sent by accident. Immediately after, and three weeks before the time, I asked them to cancel the booking. This was denied by the hotel. I cannot recommend to use a hotel treating its guests so rigidly.
Review 97:i would give rate the hotel as a 3 stars a breakfast 2 stars air conditioner 1 star-did not warm up only ventilated and its pretty cold on february in the desert.thanks to this guy from reception for another radiator. with all of these a price fits a 4 stars hotel
Review 98:good location next to crater and close to parks.friendly stuff.a lot of space in family suite.
Review 99:The staff is more than simple, not very available. The access to the room is not easy .. especially with big luggages (several building/stairs, no elevator). No view ...
Review 100:There is a bed and the room is pretty large (small appartment). Main location OK not far from the Crater
Review 101:The water pressure could have been stronger and it was difficult to adjust the water temperature. Many of the tiles on the floor were loose.
Review 102:Everyone was very friendly. Our room was extremely spacious. The food was excellent! We would definitely stay again!
Review 103:The apartment was in poor condition with tiny bathroom. Floor tiles wereloose and not glued down, queen bed only had one pillow, left overcoffee in coffee maker from previous guest. In the us, this place wouldbe about $60/night based upon the quality of the facilities -- notthe $300 we paid.
Review 104:Location was great -- one block to the Machtesh. We were happy to have atwo room apartment since we were traveling with two young children.Heater worked very well. Kids liked playing Wii in the lobby.
Review 105:We couldn't get hold of a tour guide from the numbers provided by the staff at the hotel. Floor was falling apart and tiles moved when you walked on them. Renovation is definitely needed. Smelled of cat urine in hallways.
Review 106:Breakfast 2 of the 3 days was exceptional. Spacious rooms with separate toilet and shower.
Review 107:We were planing to leave Saturday morning for Tel Aviv but we did knew about nonavailability of public transportation on Saturday. We had to wait until 5 PM. The hotel let us stay until than although the check out time was 12:00 without a charge. This was very nice from them .They even tried to find if someone was traveling with private car. In summary very nice place to stay while in the city. Exellent memories from the hotel.
Review 108:Modern clean hotel rooms with friendly receptionist. Meals were very good with huge servings and catered well for vegetarians in our group. Beautiful walk nearby along crater edge.
Review 109:Rooms need some renovation, espaecially bathrooms.
Review 110:We stayed in the hotel for one night only. For one night it was fine: clean, good breakfast, helpful staff. Great location, acceptable price.
Review 111:There only problem we have found with the Suites is almost complete lack of sound proofing. There were families with the kids staying in the hotel and kids were running wild, screaming, up and down stairs. We felt like they were inside our apartment.
Review 112:Excellent very helpful staff, clean apartments, comfortable beds, plenty of TV channels…
Review 113:The staff were very helpful. Very comfortable, good breakfast and a great place to rest after a long day hiking in the desert.Highly recommended and a great choice. Chapeau to Aviv and staff
Review 114:The room descriptions needed to be more accurate. We were two married couples and only realised when we opened the room door that one bedroom was minute and there was only one bathroom and toilet. Would have been OK for parents and children - we made do but it was a pity that the hotel and Booking.com don't make the situation clearer.
Review 115:Cleanliness Breakfasts Location Staff helpfulness
Review 116:- Higher room cost than in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Tiberias, Eilat (possibly a function of the town rather than the hotel)
Review 117:- Staff were great- room was spacious (plenty of room for two) - room was clean - breakfast was quite good - a short walk to attractions (crater promenade, visitor center) - flat-screen TV - WiFi in room and in lobby - bed was comfortable - no noise preventing us from sleeping
Review 118:We stayed in the hotel during holiday season and it was full with families with small children, who made a lot of noise.
Review 119:The room was spacious and pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 120:Other than the hotels there are no kosher restauraunts in the area, so we opted to stay at Ramon Suites for dinner. Although the food was adequate, the presentation and dining room leaves a lot to be desired. We felt dinner was overpriced. However, the breakfast was better.
Review 121:Nice, clean and comfortable room. Good price and location The staff was pleasant and helpful.
Review 122:Perfect for a stop or stay in the Negev, well located near the Makhtesh Ramon cliff, bicycles available, friendly and helpful staff, easy parking, new building with large rooms, nice breakfast buffet, wifi...
Review 123:Bedrooms far to small, no where to unpack your suitcase. Bathroom very shoddy, ceiling peeling. Leaky showerhead. Diningroom table had chairs on it when we arrived. Table dirty. bathroom floor not clean either
Review 124:Staff at front desk were so helpful. Breakfasts very good. Airconditioning remotes stuck so hight up on the wall you can get to them!!! You could really do so much more with this hotel
Review 125:This is a budget hotel, but the staff were all great, and very helpful with all we asked for. The rooms are clean, spacious, and a good place to rest if you ut all day. I would definitely recommend it if you on a budget.
Review 126:Don't know about other rooms but mine could have used some veryminor "spiffing" up. Other than that all was fine.
Review 127:Everyone of the staff, at the reception desk and in the restaurant werehelpful, friendly and cheerful. Lilach, at reception was outstanding, helping with personal problems, giving directions and calling forreservations. She was a gem. The cleaning staff did an excellent jobeach day making the room immaculate. The location is superb. It is less than a minute walk to Mitpe Ramon's main attraction, the Ramon Crater. It is also close by to restaurants, bars, convenience stores and a short walk to the shopping area.
The Fine Print
