Reviews for Hotel Dora
Review 1:Niente! (nothing) :)
Review 2:Very clean, nice hotel, in the historical, beautiful centre of Carrara. After so many experience with different hotels in Italy, if I compare property, location, service, staff and price - is this one on the top spot.
Review 3:Solo parcheggi a pagamento, i sensi unici di Carrara son un pò complicati
Review 4:Complementi ottimo raporto qualità prezzo, ideale per il soggiorni brevi, personale gentile e accogliente.
Review 5:The room was very basic, but nevertheless for what we paid acceptable.
Review 6:The location of the hotel was very unique, as well as different. It was on an intersection of a river and a busy intersection, however after 6 it was as quiet as a mouse. For a smaller town it was unique, the walking distance to everything was close. As we were driving, parking was no problem. It was in the supermarket across the road. All perfect.
Review 7:Internet connection was poor in the room. A bit noisy street in the morning.
Review 8:Friendly staff. Clean. And everything we needed - water, keys at midnight, we got.
Review 9:Toilet seat was broken, otherwise would have give a 10
Review 10:Friendly welcome, the suite was beautyfully colourful
Review 11:nothing
Review 12:very polite and friendly man

Review 16:Appalling. Price may may appear reasonable but it is not value for money. Located on a busy junction in a dirty town littered with dog faces (we are dog lovers!) and very very noisy. More like a hostel- bed dreadful, nylon bedspread smelt of BO,holes in the sheet, bed creaky, had to hand hold shower as shower bracket broken, no hairdryer, no refreshments, no ability to make tea or coffeee, no facilities at all after 3.30pm, breakfast not included and food on offer for breakfast was largely pre packed in plastic wraps. We had just come from Rome, stayed in a hotel ten minutes from collosseum, on a quiet pretty roman street where we had all the usual facilities and enjoyed a superb breakfast including fresh juice, fruit meats, cheese, freshly baked pastries etc for ten euros a night more. We had also stayed in Milano Marritma in a four star hotel which included breakfast and parking for just 49 E and also stayed in the middle of Verona in a baroque palace which was outstandingly beautiful for 100E a night. 65 E a night for Hotel Dora was a rip off. This is the first time, I have ever felt so strongly that I needed to put pen to paper to write a bad review. It was truely a disgusting place.
Review 17:Nothing
Review 18:Weak wi-fi in the room.
Review 19:I adore the Dora, mostly because of the warm welcome andextraordinary helpfulness of Valeria, the clerk/manager. Sheoffered me rides so I could avoid the expensive taxis, yetwouldn't accept payment. The Dora is newly and cheerfullydecorated, clean, and comfortable. Good plumbing, hot water. There isno lift, but the stairs have low risers and wide treads, making themmanageable for luggage (and I'm 70). The staff readily offershelp. The Dora has a real cafe, where they serve fresh baked goodsand cappuccinos made to order from a real espresso machine. Valeriawill go out for bread if you want it. A refreshing change from thepackaged breakfasts increasingly served by many more expensive placesthese days. Carrara is a fascinating destination, and the Dora madeit even better. I'd definitely go back.
Review 20:sunday checkin should be extended to at least 6:00 pm
Review 21:The manager was very friendly and outgoing. The hotel is exceptionally clean, fresh and bright. The room was nice with a window overlooking the river. The shower could have been a little larger. I felt I got more than my monies worth. I would recommend this hotel highly for the budget minded traveler. The manager helped me get to the cave of marble which I so much wanted to see. The tours that picked you up the hotel wanted 90 euros for a half day but with the managers help it cost me only 22 euros.
Review 22:The Carrara taxi system - an incredibly overpriced monopolyThe bed mattresses - not firm, saggy
Review 23:The staff - Valeria, Claudio, Elena The value - affordable prices TheLocation - easily access to the piazza, restaurants, shopping strollsThe cafe - delicious capuccino, espresso, brioche =) The staff - yes, worth mentioning twice =)
Review 24:The bed in our room was broken but we were immediately offered a recompensation when we complained.
Review 25:Helpful and very nice personnel.
Review 26:Parking was only available in a supermarket car park across the road.
Review 27:The hotel was very clean and neat.
