Reviews for Hotel Villa Orsa

Review 1:Nothing really but they needed u do a spot of gardening around breakfast area as it was looking shabby.

Review 2:A very good location with fabulous views. Staff very friendly.

Review 3:1 small thing but the shower stall always leaked water over the bathroom floor - 2 having to leave

Review 4:1 wonderful location in the Old Port area - few steps down to all restaurants and ferries - 2 the ambience is lovely 'old world' 3 Great breakfast - friendly staff/owners - comfortable room

Review 5:As cars can't get near the hotel, which is on a narrow cobbled street, you have to drag your bags a long way. Either about quarter of a mile along the portside, and then up a flight of about 30 steep steps and cobbled lane. Or from the other direction about the same distance, but all cobbled. To be fair, we understand the hotel will help you if you tell them in advance. But in our circumstances, the flight was late, etc etc.

Review 6:The lovely view out of the window, and the quiet location close to Skiathos town. The Breakfast was good, served on a stone veranda, looking over the sea, sitting in the shade of a large vine.

Review 7:Access to the hotel is up a cobbled street with steps which could be a hot walk back after a day on the beach !

Review 8:Location was superb and staff very friendly and helpful

Review 9:Despite personal contact and a promise from the hotel manager that I would get a room with a wonderful sea view, with additional payment of 170 eur, I got a room with a view of the bulrush and houses. Getting to the hotel is very complicated, because it is located in the pedestrian zone and you must take care of your baggage. That means you need to carry your bags across a terrible cobblestone path and uphill, to climb in one part 37 steps (height 25 cm) - when you come from the port, or to go much longer path with less steps, if you are coming from the Healthcare center. The nearest parking is about 600 m from the hotel. Breakfast is average and is set on a nice terrace where the floor is rather dirty, tables are under cleaned, flowers and vines dried (nobody regulates the garden ). There are plenty of mosquitoes. Also there are a lot of cats in the surrounding area, the stench in the streets around the hotel is unbearable. All the time of our stay (6 days) we were trying to avoid stepping in feces nearbuy the entrance of hotel (nobody cleaned). Breakfast is served from 8 am to 10 pm, in local time, which means that if you are coming from another time zone, you need to eat earlier than you may have habitually do.

Review 10:Town Skiathos is interesting, with a lot of nice restaurants and cafés

Review 11:Not a criticism but a recommendation for travellers is to try to get a balcony room. The only room remaining was without balcony next to reception which was fine for a night but probably not for a longer stay.

Review 12:Great location and staff. Comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace is good.

Review 13:Small friendly Greek hotel in heart of Skiathos town with fabulous views of the sea. Orsa was very helpful and efficient, all staff conscientious - hotel very clean and efficiently run - nice buffet breakfast overlooking the sea.

Review 14:Size of our balcony was very small (no room for table only 1 chair wide - would have liked to have known this in advance and could have chosen room with larger balcony). However we used breakfast terrace - and views from here were amazing.

Review 15:* Views * Breakfast on terrace was excellent * Family run and very friendly & helpful * Very near everything but quiet

Review 16:breakfast on a picturesque terrace overlooking the sea. top floor view from the bedroom balcony was wonderful. warm, friendly , helpful ,owner & staff. ideal position for town & nearest beach .

Review 17:We chose this hotel over others as it was described as non smoking, but we were very disappointed to find that we couldnt enjoy sitting on our balcony as the guests below us were heavy smokers and the smell was predominant on our balcony and in our bedroom. It was also quite noisy at night due to noise of fridges and air conditioning units.

Review 18:Views, breakfast.

Review 19:Location could be hard on someone with mobility problems. Like many Greek island villages, the streets were staircases.

Review 20:Lovely room with a sea view from the room's balcony and the breakfast terrace. Friendly service from the owning family and Christo who helped toting our bags.

Review 21:The wifi was a little patchy in our room, but generally fast speeds.

Review 22:The location was amazing with a sea-view from our balcony, and the staff was so friendly. We had a wonderful stay and can strongly recommend Hotel Villa Orsa.

Review 23:Authentic charm, stunning view and location. Our teenage children enjoyed swimming around the quiet rocky area below. Light bright generous rooms. Easy walk to Skiathos town. Orsa and her team were wonderful.

Review 24:Wifi wasn't that strong but there's enough to do in Skiathos anyway so you won't be spending much time on the net.

Review 25:Location was fantastic and staff were extremely helpful.

Review 26:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel villa Orsa. The staff were very friendly always responsive to our need. We enjoyed our breakfast over looking beautiful sea and islands from the height. The location is very peaceful as there is no traffic near it. There are many steps to the hotel so it was good for our daily exercise. Brave Orsa, Matula & all the rest of persons.

Review 27:I had to go home!

Review 28:Even though the hotel is close to town, it is quiet and feels secluded. The staff are fabulous and do everything to help make your stay enjoyable. Breakfasts were great, too.

Review 29:NOTHING ! But be aware the steps leading up to Orsas are a good leg workout But so worth it

Review 30:The whole experience ,of staying at Hotel Orsa is magical . The location is fantastic ,eating your simple but beautifully fresh breakfast overlooking the panoramic views of the Adriatic is just stunning To top all that, all the staff could not be more friendly or kind This hotel for me would be hard to TOP :)

Review 31:We loved our pretty room with views across the sea from both windows. Breakfasts on the terrace were delicious.

Review 32:Excellent view from room, lovely breakfast area on the terrace.

Review 33:Lovely room with great view, wonderful breakfast and friendly staff.

Review 34:The bathroom was very small and typical of Greece a hand held shower.

Review 35:The amazing view from our balcony.

Review 36:Location suberb with easy access to surrounding areas. Fantastic views.

Review 37:The balcony was to little

Review 38:I loved the view

Review 39:Excellent sea view

Review 40:There is a very steep climb, totalling at least four stories.

Review 41:Beautiful view of the sea from this quaint hotel.

Review 42:Very thin wooden doors, so no privacy. You hear everything outside the room. Don´t think of a long night sleep! Not worth the money!

Review 43:Nice location.

Review 44:Only good

Review 45:A Family run and owned Hotel. Wonderful friendly people Will return again

Review 46:steep steps to the hotel the shower curtain was too short hence wet floors!

Review 47:Friendly staff and the location

Review 48:Location

Review 49:Steps

Review 50:Very quiet location, beautiful view of Skiathos bay from my room, charming and hard working staff, well situated hotel

Review 51:Location is great. Old fashioned hotel many lovely features.

Review 52:Close to centre of Skiathos town. Excellent views out to sea. Good continental breakfast.

Review 53:Bethroom needs to be reformed. The room is small.

Review 54:Location is excellent in the city centre with amazing views. Breakfast is good.

Review 55:Nothing

Review 56:Wonderful views, superb buffet self-service breakfast including fresh produce, Orsa gave really good advice about restaurants etc.

Review 57:The only thing we did not like was the shower, needs upgrading!!

Review 58:The hospitality of the staff, the friendly atmosphere and tranquil location.

Review 59:shower was a bit small..

Review 60:we like the view of the hotel, great location. good breakfast. good room size. very clean

Review 61:Exquisite view, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, delicious breakfasts on pretty sunny terrace with panoramic sea views

Review 62:walk up steps

Review 63:breakfast view friendliness cleanliness

Review 64:Hardly a negative but ...Do not ignore the small print...this hotel is not for you if you cannot manage lots of steps

Review 65:Feels like typical Greece, but with terry towels! Warm welcome from Orsa and family, good advice for trips etc if sought. Delightful terrace for breakfast which was excellent. Furnished balcony worth the extra, views stunning.

Review 66:Elegant sophisticated hotel. Loved all the marble everywhere especially the bathroom, just beautiful. View from the balcony fabulous. Lovely and clean. Staff very happy and helpful. Breakfast outside great.

Review 67:We had a beautiful room with a huge balcony and an awesome water view. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating, helping us with our bags, a car rental and even keeping the yummy breakfast buffet open later our first morning when we had to run out to the airport to pick up a lost bag. great location in the old part of town.

Review 68:the stairs!... but we are lazy and most would not see this as a problem.

Review 69:Orsa is lovely and the feel of a family hotel is exactly what I would always want. Very good helpful support at all turns. Brilliant views

Review 70:This hotel is rated unreasonably high on booking, which misled us fully and we paid an extremely high price thinking it is worthwhile. We have a number of complaints: facilities old and room very small, the bathroom is incredible small, old and uncomfortable especially the shower which is the worst one we have seen in our lives( it is impossible to have a shower without making wet the whole bathroom), the breakfast is the poorest one we have ever tasted ( only boiled eggs, bread and butter, and one type of salami, no fruits, no vegetables, no toasted bread), towels changed once in 3-4 days which is unacceptable when you are going for the sea vacation and have to have shower 2 times per day ( we had to pay to the cleaning lady additionaly to get the new towels after 2 days), only one girl working there speaks english and she is there only in the morning etc. Definitely this hotel does not deserve the rating on booking and is extremely expensive for the quality of service and facilities it provides.

Review 71:The only thing we liked about this hotel is its position near the center of skiathos. Also the view is very nice but one have to pay a lot to get a tiny balcony with a view to the sea which is not worthwhile.

Review 72:Overall a great reception, staff are very helpful, the rooms are very grand, clean with fantastic views across the bay. They will also help with your bags as there are several steps up to the hotel which is situated in the old town

Review 73:Steep climb up to reach hotel. No sun beds available. No beach although it is possible to swim from the rocks at the bottom of a short footpath but getting out is tricky as they are slippery and there is no ladder.

Review 74:Very friendly staff, clean pleasant rooms with lovely views of the sea and nearby islands from the rooms and the terrace where a good breakfast is available. Located close to the town centre and harbour side restaurants.

Review 75:Loved our stay at Villa Orsa in old town Skiathos - 5 - 10 minutes walk from the ferry and street tavernas. The staff were extremely friendly and helpfull giving tips on what to do during our stay. Lovely breakfast with a great view on th sea. We had to leave early the last day, so the lovely lady at reception even organized for us to have an early breakfast. Thanks for a lovely time.

Review 76:bed a bit hard

Review 77:lovely staff very helpful with transporting bags as there are many steps, short walk to waterfront restaurants etc, balcony room had great view and was spacious

Review 78:Trip from port up stairs with kids and bags. Suggest a simple warning and offer of paid help when needed.

Review 79:View from breakfast and choice. Position once we managed to get up stairs with cases.

Review 80:there was nothing to dislike at this hotel everything was lovely from the staff to Orsa herself the view from the balcony was stunning the rooms very clean a beautiful place and we would stay anytime.

Review 81:Unfortunately we could stay only one night. We plan a holiday in Skiathos town next year and will stay in this hotel

Review 82:Friendly staff-small hotel-on edge of cliff- free upgrade to room with balcony-peaceful and quiet location in centre of old town-in car-free road, so young lad carries luggage

Review 83:The only thing unpleasant about the breakfast is that salami served in the first day was the same in the last day ( I stayed four days), because they are waiting to be consumed all of it before to serve another. Normally, in the last day it was expired. I paid the most expensive room of the hotel, because I wanted for the greatest view possible. Even so and even, before to come in the hotel, I was ensured by the hotel about the fact that I will have the best room, I receive an room with terrace, but in a corner of hotel, with view only partial to the sea (the hotel has another room with terrace with full view to the sea). I paid for the best room of the hotel, but I did not received one. From this point of view, I think that I paid more than I received. The price should be different.

Review 84:The most enjoyable on the entire hotel is terrace when the breakfast is served. It has a beautiful view to the sea and is cover by a huge bougainvillea. The room is large enough, decorated with good taste, without cheap materials. Is very clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is basic and invariable, but the bread and the bakery products are very fresh, which is nice.

Review 85:Amazing view from our balcony, very friendly staff and ideal location 2minutes by foot from the city center and harbor and also from the placesbeach. Nice breakfast in a beautiful balcony with sea view!

Review 86:Could be bit difficult for older people to claimb the high stairs

Review 87:Fantastic location, gut breakfast, friendly people. The bed and pillows one of the best I ever slept (hotel).

Review 88:The place is fantastic, we enjoyed the staff, it felt like visiting a close relative, kind, helpfull, allways with smile on face. Beside the warmth of the staff the place is located in a very romantic side of the old town Skyathos, far away from the center noise.

Review 89:Small bathroom & shower

Review 90:Very cute hotel, delicious breakfast, gorgeous views, lovely helpful staff

Review 91:Bathroom & Balcony too small

Review 92:Location, staff and breakfast all excellent.

Review 93:The steps up from the port ! .

Review 94:Friendly staff, good breakfast, and the views .

Review 95:We have not got anything negative to say.

Review 96:The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a very good view of the sea from the hotel.

Review 97:A bit expensive for the quality of the room

Review 98:Amazing view. Friendly staff. They offered to help us up the 30 steps that lead to the hotel

Review 99:the view from our window. the staff was really friendly. the breakfast was really good

Review 100:Fantastic views from our room . Great breakfast and very helpful staff.

Review 101:Have to [ark the car quite far then walk to the hotel - quite uncomfortable when carrying luggage.

Review 102:Frendly hosts, cosy rooms, great view from above!

Review 103:the steps leading up to the hotel and down to the town. not suitable for older travellers

Review 104:views of the harbour and sea. room bed and sun terrace
