Reviews for Punta Nord Est

Review 1:Close to road so was a bit noisy at night with traffic. Pillow was a bit hard.

Review 2:Perfect spot to unwind, has everything you need. Within walking distance to town and restaurants. Our room had a wonderful view of the ocean and breakfast was a good selection although not hot.

Review 3:No coffee facility in the room

Review 4:Near the coastline great view lovely nice sized pool near a fabulous little harbour town with lots of restaurants lovely sandy beach 1/2 mile away

Review 5:Internet access poor at the weekend. OK during the first couple of days midweek.

Review 6:Good location midway between town and beach. Lovely view over small sandy bay, with private access from hotel. Very comfortable suite. Great stay.

Review 7:Nothing

Review 8:We stayed in a junior suite, which had been recently remodeled and was clean, spacious and very comfortable and had a lovely view of the sea. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The staff was very accommodating and the pool area was lovely and very relaxing. Private access through a tunnel to a rocky beach was a nice addition if you wanted to take a dip in the ocean. Would definitely return.

Review 9:The room key needed to be tried 10-20 times in order to open the door and the staff weren't that interested until we left!

Review 10:Great pool with the ocean a short walk away through the private hotel tunnel. Super breakfast.

Review 11:Wonderful location with views to the sea and coastline. Easy walk to old town yet far enough away from all the noise. What made our stay great was the staff, they could not be more accommodating on every level. Lovely, professional ladies at the front desk. Breakfast was amazing!

Review 12:Wifi almost non-existant in the room. Lifts painfully slow!

Review 13:Well situated for Castellammare del Golfo. Good breakfast, friendly, helpful staff. Nice pool area. All pleasant and correct.

Review 14:No complaints. Request quieter room higher up to avoid street noise if you have an oceanfront room. (We were on the 1st floor though and it was fine with the heavy shade drawn down.) We didn't use wifi but heard others had some issues.

Review 15:Excellent breakfast-large selection of homemade sweets breads and croissants, fruits, espresso and bread, meat and cheese! Lovely ambiance eating under the lime tree. Great pool with plenty of loungers and even a kiss play area and shallower pool for small ones (we didn't have our two young kids along but noticed that we could have brought them there). Even a private little rocky beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. A great value!

Review 16:Suggest adding muesli to the otherwise excellent buffet breakfasts.

Review 17:The Friendliness of the staff and their ability to speak English. Also enjoyed the light lunches available pool side along with very reasonable prices.

Review 18:This is a great hotel in a fantastic location. It even has its own private beach which we loved for a pre-breakfast snorkel. The breakfast was fresh and varied. We booked a room with a balcony and a sea view and we were delighted with it. The hotel pool is great for a dip. We loved this hotel and our only disappointment is that we only stayed for one night.

Review 19:Sometimes at night, there are very loud and very fast motors which are racing by. Even with the windows closed and the fences down, they wake you up.

Review 20:Friendly staff, good and clean room, nice swimming pool!!

Review 21:WIFI was poor (we lived on the 3rd floor)

Review 22:- very helpful and friendly personnel! They always smile and ready to answer every question and help you. They gave us always very good advices - hotel suggest a very useful list of discounts (in restaurants, shops, etc,..). The places mentioned there were really nice! - very tasty various breakfast! there was everything (ham, a lot of cheese, fresh riccota, a lot of fruits, fresh baked goods, incl. cannoli, etc) - quite place, good location - hotel has his own access to the beach. It is a bit wild with stones, but very clean with clean water and there are very few people - no problem with parking. We could always find the parking place

Review 23:The staff were extremely helpful and very accommodating. The hotel is close to the marina where there is numerous restaurants that are reasonably priced. Scenery is breathtaking.

Review 24:Coast road runs along front of hotel so advise higher rooms to avoid traffic noise during the day. Not too much traffic noise at night.

Review 25:We had a large, comfortable, well appointed room on the 3rd floor with wonderful sea views. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful with advice. Plenty of choice for breakfast in large indoor and outdoor dining area. No problems with parking. Lovely outdoor pool. Pleasant 10 minute walk into the old town.

Review 26:We did not have a sea view room and this is basically two different hotels, if you have a sea view room worth every penny. If you do not have sea view, you just way over paid for the property. Wi-Fi was horrible.

Review 27:Good location, staff very nice helpful, great breakfast, very nice pool. Hotel was clean.

Review 28:It could be an Irish thing, but I missed the kettle in the room! the tea/coffee making facility of having that option in the room. it may not be done in Sicily but with a direct Ryan air connect to Ireland? Come on lads- the Irish are the heaviest tea drinkers per capita in the world, averaging four to six cups per day or more. Do bring flip flops for the beach. there are a lot of spiky palm fronds, and the sand is hot! Few sausages or scrambled egg wouldn't go astray at breakfast!

Review 29:The staff were great, especially the girl with the Scottish-Sicilian accent! there is a wonderful guilty pleasure about asking for the key to the private beach, and even more wonderful to swim in the beautiful clear Mediterranean. I would get a room with a balcony next time - its worth it. Ideal for groups of 4 or more as this helps to get taxis from the airport etc, public transport not evident.

Review 30:The private beach is a pepple beach. I liked it for snorkelling, but I say a lot of people would not be keen on it. Saying that, the pool is nice and there is a fantastic sand beach just down the road. If you do not like to walk down the road, the reception will organise a shuttle bus for free with one of the beach clubs. You need to rent a bed and an umbrella from them, but it is worth it. The beach club in June was quiet and the music just low in the background. And not disturbing. The beach is suited for small children.

Review 31:Book a sea view room as the view is great. It was one of the best 3* star Hotels I ever stayed in.

Review 32:At seven months pregnant, we came away for sunshine and relaxation. Punta Nord Est is perfect for this - super clean and comfortable. The breakfast staff are so friendly and accommodating, and the pool is generously proportioned for the size of hotel. We wouldn't usually go for a 'normal' hotel like Punta Nord Est, and might choose somewhere more quirky and travellery. But I'd come straight back here and can definitely see why so many other pregnant couples (4-5!) were staying here too.

Review 33:The location isn't ideal for families with young children as the foot paths are very poor into the town and main beach. It would be nice if the hotel offered a lunch or evening menu for ease of dining.

Review 34:The hotel was great! Spotless, friendly and helpful staff, nice swimming pool, no complaints at all.

Review 35:The staff were extremely helpful, the view from the balcony were breathtaking. The pool was lovely and clean with a bar where you could get snacks and drinks throughout the day at reasonable prices. Great location with the main beach a short walk one way and the town a 10 min walk another. Castellamare Del Golfo has loads of lovely restaurants and bars.

Review 36:Maria greeted us with very professional correctness and proved most helpful. The room was excellent in every way, with wonderful views East along the coast. The Ristorante al Duomo was a delightful surprise in a small, uninspiring town

Review 37:You can't really enjoy the nice see views from your balcony because of the noisy traffic passing by the hotel. Wifi in room only worked on the first night, than only connection possible in the public areas

Review 38:Nice swimming pool, clean hotel, easy parking, good value for money.

Review 39:The free WiFi code didn't work in the room. The beach was not very good at hotel. It was about 700m to the nearest restaraunt.

Review 40:The breakfast was really good.

Review 41:Private beach (very dirty - seaweed can#t be taken away but Clearing away the rubbish once a week would help)

Review 42:Great views of the bay Large swimming pool with enough chairs Private beach (for swimming) Courtyard outside for breakfast Good trip recommendations from staff

Review 45:Small shower cubicle, slow WLAN, otherwise it is more a 4* than a 3* hotel.

Review 46:Large, spotless clean room, very comfy matrasses, good quality bedclothes; large bathroom with daily changed, good quality towels, plenty of hot water day and night. Breathtaking view over the sea from the large, sunny terrace. We worried that it could be noisy due to the national road (SS 187) passing in front of the hotel and Easter holydays, but it wasn´t at all; on the other side, being directly at this road, it was very easy to find the hotel as we arrived in darkness in the first evening, as well as to get to the high way when driving for sight-seeing. Plenty of free parking places in front of the hotel. Very fresh, good and sufficient breakfast (salty and sweet, yoghurts, fresh fruits and veggies) in a large and bright room with nice sea view and huge TV-screen. Very, very friendly and helpful personnel at the front desk and in the breakfast room. Castellammare del Golfo village is in walking distance, very charming and with lots of good places to eat; very nice ethno-anthropological museum in the Fortress.

Review 47:This is on a rather busy street but the traffic dies down after 10pm. We are very sensitive to that kind of noise but it did not bother us. However others my want to be aware if they have a room at the front of the hotel with a balcony.

Review 48:Check-in was very easy. We had a room on the 3rd floor which had a balcony and ocean view. The room was spacious (only two of us but had two extra twin beds) as was the bathroom. Ambiance is a little sterile feeling but it was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fine, nothing over the top but perfectly adequate. The staff was very helpful. It was a 10 min walk to lots of restaurants and we were given a sheet of suggestions with 10% off for dinner, bonus!

Review 49:Excellent seaview hotel in a very cosy city with beautiful mountains and harbor front. Very helpful staff - especially the sweet lady in charge of breakfast, who paid a special honor in making excellent coffee.

Review 50:We stayed on the top floor so wi.fi was unreachable. Can be used on the ground floor tho if needed.

Review 51:Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, close to the fishing village so great restaurants.

Review 52:Beds not very comfortable. No WIFI in bedrooms. Hotel on a main road.

Review 53:Had a sea view. Parking right outside. All the staff were very helpful. Very good breakfast for a 3* hotel and staff were happy to squeeze oranges from the table for juice.

Review 54:- the close by beach not the most attractive - Castellmare del Golfo, the nearby city, not the most intersting place. Good if you rent a car for exploring

Review 55:- the breakfast was a dream, huge choice, wonderful canolis! - staff was very friendly, internet great, room very nice - nearby nature park and check out the fantastic Segeste Therme!

Review 56:Rooms are a bit dated and could use some paint and new flooring. Shower was small. The private beach could use some attention (rubbish). Actually, many of Sicily's beaches could use a bit of a clean up.

Review 57:Fairly easy to find by car. We had a junior sweet overlooking the ocean... The views were amazing and I highly recommend an ocean view room. The private beach is nice (but rocky). The sandy beaches are easily accessible by car and quite nice.

Review 58:This is a very comfortable hotel with a good size rooms, magnificent views, small balcony, a great pool area, a private beach, large, tasty breakfast and a friendly and helpful staff.

Review 59:Clean, 2pools abt 70F but the sea (200 steps) is above 80. Easy walk to harbor, private transfer from palerMo was 100E, to Palermo airport 60E. Bar in lobby served Cuban rum, a real treat for an American.

Review 60:The staff was very helpful. We had a problem printing our boarding pass for our flight the next day and the young man working on the desk was extremely helpful. All the staff were courteous and helpful.

Review 61:Lovely facilities (pool, bar, access to the beach) and great location (close to airport, the sea and Palermo). Breakfast buffet was great. Staff were extremely helpful.

Review 62:1. The water in the Swimming pool was very cold as was expected to be warm. Because of this there was hardly anybody going to pool. 2. Hotel charged us for the swimming pool towels. 3. We stayed there for 4 nights but everyday they served same breakfast ( Offcourse breakfast was good but expected variety a bit)

Review 63:1. Staff was good 2. Internet in the room was very good.

Review 64:The location was a 20 minute walk from the restaurants and town. Downhill on the way in but uphill on the way back.. There is a fish restaurant near the hotel but it is expensive.

Review 65:The staff were most helpful and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was excellent and the snack bar by the pool was a bonus. There always seemed to be spare loungers by the pool so no problems with empty loungers covered by a towel. Our room was immculately clean and on the back of the hotel so quiet.

Review 66:Everything is perfect

Review 67:We are a young couple who decided to visit Italia.first of all it was hard to chose which town to chose but finally we stayed in Castellamare del golfo. After seeing the others villages such as San vito lo capo and scopello it was clear to us that we made a good choice. Castellamare is a charming small village but it has a lot to offer starting from a good beach (just in front of the hotel) finishing with a good night life and restaurants. The hotel is awesome, the rooms are spacious, greatly decorated and virginly clean. The have got a room with a sea view and never regretted, there is nothing better than to open your eyes after a sleep and see the infinite sea. The breakfast is worth to be mentioned as well, the great variety and quality. The hotel has the beach just down and disposes a private stairs.

Review 68:- The was no omelet ever for two weeks. Only the eggs. - Some rooms are noisy, you have to take it into the consideration, when you request the room. - Even if you come there for two weeks, you have to Request the room with the balcony, if you don't get it, you won't be able to get your beach towels dry! - FREEZY water in the pool, and that's how you have a pool, but nobody swims there and it stays clean for the hotel to care less! -

Review 69:We loved the rooms, the hotel building, somehow location was good, but not perfect, cause the hotel is situated on the road, and it was good to be close to the sea, but the road was noisy enough sometimes. The pool area was great, but then again, the temperature of the water was below freezy, and thus lots of people were trying to stay in the pool area, but couldn't swim. It was close to all the roads and the the beach, and the town, but I wouldn't say the destination is way too short. When you go to the Beach, there's no walking area, only the road. If you go to the city, you also better use car, cause all the best restaurants are in the port or somehow close to it. And it's not perfectly close to the hotel. The stuff was nice, but not everybody, it felt like they had to. The only exception is Viola Drago, the lady on reception is the most helpful in the hotel. She seems to truly care. And yes! If you see the pictures of the hotel and you see the balcony, don't forget to request it, otherwise you might not get it, cause the rooms with the seaview and the balconies are limited.

Review 70:This hotel was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and I cannot give the staff enough credit, who were there whenever we needed anything.

Review 71:Perhaps a bit pricy compared to other 3 star hotels in other countries.

Review 72:Quite simple but clean and comfortable hotel within walking distance to Castellamare del golfo and all its restaurants. The walk to the marina takes about 10 minutes. Very nice and helpful staff. Free wifi. The hotel has its own beach. The beach itself is small but OK if you just want easy access and don't mind the absence of sun beds. Good breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and different pastries. Free parking just outside the hotel.

Review 73:The private beach is very dirty

Review 74:Room are very clean, staff is nice and helpful. A lot of different food is available for the breakfast and the swimming pool is nice. Very close to the city center and very convenient.

Review 75:Very loud street noise. We had a sea-view room, which has a street between you and the sea. I knew this when I booked, but I thought the rooms would be better soundproofed. Even with the window closed and the shutter down, the noise from scooters (which are plentiful in Castellammare del Golfo) woke me up several times.

Review 76:Staff were very professional and good, cleaning was done promptly and very well, breakfast was varied and tasty, swimming pool was very nice and not too crowded

Review 77:We are a family of 2 adults and one child (8) and travelled for 2 weeks in Sicily and stayed in 3,4,5 star hotels. Punta Nord Est was our favorite for the value it provided. Friendly staff, private beach, proximity to both downtown Castellamare Del Golfo (5-10 mins walk) and nearby public beach made everything very convenient. We stayed 4 nights and had a great time. Our room was on the top floor with a private terrace and great views of town and beaches. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 78:Street between hotel and the sea! Surprised me- we didn' get that impression from the web site. The village is nice, but not very exciting- we spent 3 nights- that was just right.

Review 79:Wonderful "private" beach, nice pool. Very friendly staff. We had 2 rooms w a beautiful seaview- upgraded from a " classic room", which was NOT so nice- view on a rock.

Review 80:Nothing really.

Review 81:Very friendly staff. Great location facing the ocean. Parking was not an issue. Highlight is the hotel's private beach/cove, with just a short trek of steps down to....pure bliss. Relaxing pool area. Clean and large rooms. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Recommend seafood dinner at Al Marconi, a short walk down the street.

Review 82:Shower cabin could be bigger

Review 83:Hotel does costs its money. Own beach, rather stony than sandy, but in 100 ladder's steps vicinity. City beach is in 2 min distance by car (parking is on the road along the beach, 1 euro per hour). City center (marina bay) is in 15 min walking distance. We had a room with small terrace on back yard - quiet and tidy. Room was big and clean enough. Not a perfect sound isolation from corridor side, but not critical. Wifi - good as well. Breakfast - there were no hot food, but variety of cold meals, fruits and bakery was more than enough. Personnel - kindly and ready to help.

Review 84:Staff were extremely helpful to a 5* hotel standard. Very clean lovely rooms, although plain, are comfortable. Breakfast was very balanced and tasty. Swimming pool is fab.

Review 85:Very difficult to find with a GPS.

Review 86:Very nice breakfast area. Not too far from Palmero Airport.

Review 87:Very nice rooms with a lot of space and extra bed for the child. Breakfast was nice also.

Review 88:Th view from our room was incredible, the pool area was very nice and the staff was excellent.

Review 89:Nice view, great breakfast!

Review 90:Good staff , great location.

Review 91:Pool closing too early each day.

Review 92:Location. Sea access.

Review 93:Wifi did not work in the room. Private beach not that special.

Review 94:Nice location. Nice view on sea. Nice staff.

Review 95:The continental breakfast was poor

Review 96:Junior suite on the top floor was very spacious with a huge balcony overlooking the sea.

Review 97:No coffee or tea in room No comfortable area to have a Drink at bar Menu at pool limited

Review 98:Poolside

Review 99:Bathroom: old fashionned.

Review 100:Very nice location. Easy to park your car. Swimming pool.

Review 101:not too many fruits at breakfast.

Review 102:Clean, big swimming pool. Hotel on the first beach line with see view. Good breakfast for few days.

Review 103:They charge for pool towels and they don't change sheets daily. Otherwise great place

Review 104:Great location!

Review 105:no free towel at the pool (maybe this is normal in this area)

Review 106:great breakfast, nice beach, good pool.

Review 107:Sea view, swimming pool, breakfast, location.

Review 108:Nothing, perfect

Review 109:Beautiful pool and great breakfast and locatieontwikkelaar of the hotel

Review 110:Everything

Review 111:Location for access to town.

Review 112:very nice staff

Review 113:Great staff, beautiful beach in front of hotel, many and tasty fruits

Review 114:Lovely view. Great poolarea. Friendly staff. Super breakfast

Review 116:Was a little bit loud outside our room.

Review 117:Pool very nice.
