Reviews for Manolis' House

Review 1:No hot water until after 9 am. The garden and ponds are home to voracious mosquitoes. No washing-up amenities were provided.

Review 2:A very beautiful and interesting garden .Once you walk through the gates from the street you are in a lush and well planned garden unseen and at odds with the surrounding properties. The interior design of the room is eclectic and features art works by Manolis.

Review 3:Something completely out of the owner's hands, but due to the plants all around there were a lot of insects which if you weren't careful, would enter the room. I got bit two out of the three nights spent there.

Review 4:It is a short walking distance to town, yet there was no noise at all. The bed room was spacious and the AC worked well. The bathroom was okay, but the shower was too small with a curtain that didn't make it easy to shower. The owner is very friendly, and professional. He gave us a lot of good tips on where to go on the island.

Review 5:Its a fantastic hotel in town .Manolis the Owner is allways helpful and kind.He has a wonderful garden with all kinds of flowers and banana tree and a lovely pool area with sunbeds and a chill out area.its so quiet and peaceful! Very comfortable beds from Cocomat and differenst style of cool coulours in each studio.

Review 6:I can't say there is anything I didn't like about this hotel

Review 7:What a find, this hotel is like a little bit of paradise in the centre of Skiathos town. It's just a stones throw from the main high street but as soon as you walk through the gates of the hotel you would think you were miles away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are spotless and furnished in a fairly simple manner (mainly white with a lovely splash of colour on one wall). Nice big balconies too with comfy chairs to relax in after a hard days sunbathing ! We were in room 7 and our balcony got the last of the sun before setting for the evening. The pool is just perfect too. Like the rest if the complex it's beautifully clean and never crowded. There is certainly no getting up at silly o'clock just to grab a sun lounger. All in all this hotel was just perfect for us, and from speaking to other guests, many of whom were returning for a 2nd or 3rd time, they obviously thought the same. The owner was very helpful too and took his time making sure we were happy with our rooms explaining how things work etc. As much as I want to keep this little gem of a find to myself, it seems a shame not to share this with others - hope you enjoy this hotel as much as we did

Review 8:Manolis was an excellent host, couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome. Our flight home was delayed (due to problems in the UK) and Manolis made our room available to us for the rest of the day and even made us some lunch. Great location walking distance to the harbour, lovely quiet setting with great pool area

Review 9:The mattress on the bed was a little old and not very luxurious. However whilst we where there new beds had been delivered so that shouldn't be a problem now. The wifi was a little slow but it wasn't a major issue.

Review 10:Lovely friendly manager who always checked we were ok ! V.clean room cleaned daily! Peaceful and unique designed pool area which features original artwork beautiful exotic plants and a library of books to borrow with seating area. Extremely close to a range of restaurants and bars but still peaceful and relaxing.

Review 11:Too much greenery and stagnant water resulting in a plague ofmosquitoes., Which made our holiday a little miserable

Review 12:The pool area

Review 13:nothing!

Review 14:Great location, very friendly owner, clean room, great value, lovely pool area, would definitely stay here again.

Review 15:Everything

Review 16:Friendliness of staff. Location.

Review 17:Location , comfort and swimming pool , along with the very helpful owner.

Review 18:Beautiful small 'complex' of rooms, pool and plants - contemporary and spotlessly clean. Welcoming, friendly and helpful host.

Review 19:Friendly welcome in portuguese. great location and good conditions

Review 20:The pool wasn't cleaned.

Review 21:Good location. Quiet. First class accommodation. Family run - very friendly and helpful

Review 22:tropical garden setting, large pool, excellent beds, attractive decorations by Manolis, cleanliness and friendly vibe.

Review 23:Wi fi was not very reliable

Review 24:Perfectly located near town and great value for money

Review 25:This property is an oasis of calm in lively Skiathos. I only stayed one night but had a huge room with good cooking facilities. Manolis was extremely helpful, meeting me at the port as I was on my own. The exotic gardens are good enough to open to the public. The kittens were delightful to watch. The air-con included in the price was a bonus.

Review 26:WiFi connection is inconsistent.

Review 27:Manolis is a terrific host, helpful, knowledgable, generous with his time and assistance. He is quick to address the smallest concern of his guests. He has created a garden paradise with his collection of cacti, flowers and exotic plants. The contemporary rooms are decorated with excellent taste.

Review 28:We had trouble finding Manolis House and had previously received an email from the owner requesting time of arrival which we let him know and unfortunately on the day we phoned approx half a dozen times as we couldn't find Manolis House and so leaving us in the pooring rain and cold before he answered. The bungalow was very dated and not comfortable with one chair to sit on and the toilet had a crack in it and was leaking all over the floor which was awful. We told the owner this and he didnt seem fazed by it and seemed like he already knew this. Will not be staying here again. Dont really understand why this accommodation has such a good rating?

Review 29:Comfy big bed.

Review 30:We received a very friendly welcome from Manolis on arrival. His lovely house is set in a beautiful garden which he tends himself, full of cactuses and fruit trees. There is a nice swimming pool with comfortable loungers and a lovely sheltered area with books to borrow. Cats of all sizes roam the garden! On leaving Manolis presented us with a bottle of olive oil made from his own crop. Overall a lovely stay.

Review 31:This is a very special place and it felt more like a privilege every day. so much care and consideration is taken by the owner and his family to ensure a beautiful, tranquil, environmentally friendly environment. i cant speak highly enough of this hotel and in fact would more refer to this establishment as a retreat location than a hotel with it's spectacular gardens which are lit by candle light in the evening and marble artworks throughout along with the most beautiful pool it was tempting to stay there all day which is saying a lot considering the beauty of Skiathos itself. I'd love to keep this place a secret but it's just so nice to share such a good experience. Enjoy!

Review 32:The garden bungalow was disgraceful . It was a poor 1960's furnished dark room . The shower was attached with a piece of string . The kitchen was completely archaic and unusable . The room did not match the exterior area of the pool ect . It was completely dreadful .

Review 33:The pool area was very trendy .

Review 34:The following is to be understood as proposal to become still better: The bungalow could be refurbished a bit. Bathroom and kitchen are out of date compared to the rest. A fridge in the "poolhouse" or a small bar would be great.

Review 35:Our Sporades trip started in Skiathos where we stayed 5 days at Manolis' house, the bungalow. Styling and atmosphere of the whole area show Manolis' interst in design and his good taste. The garden is great and invites to relax. Manolis is very gentle and interested in his guests. All in all we appreciated the lounge atmosphere much as it is very private and discrete. We can recommend Manolis' house and we would return when visiting Skiathos one more time. It was our best experience of our trip.

Review 36:The ring road is quite near and can be noisy at busy times but we found that we quickly became used to it and it did not detract from our stay.

Review 37:The appartments/bungalow are inside a beautiful walled garden providing tranquility and a delightful environment in which to relax. The pool and pool area are excellent and the accomodation comfortable. Overall there is a pleasing and unusual blend of style and quaintness which go together well. The owner is friendly and hospitable.
