Reviews for Residenza d'Epoca Palazzo Malfatti

Review 1:excellent, spacious apartments in a 13th century palace at a reasonable cost located right on the main piazza of a hilltop town. What's not to like?

Review 2:If you like Medieval architecture with views, this would be your place. A very pleasant town to walk around in, because unlike much of Italy, it is not overcrowded

Review 3:Beautiful apartments with big airy rooms in this converted old palace. Attention to detail and quality has obviously been at the forefront of design. Superb location right in the centre of Massa Maritima close to the cathedral square. Excellent all round.

Review 4:If I was looking for something, It wad very hot in the apartment as there is no AC...but it was August! But not a major problem for us. There were a couple of fans which helped a lot. The Internet was sometimes a bit hit and miss but that's usual anyway!

Review 5:The location was just fantastic! In a beautiful old building just off a beautiful square. You couldn't ask for better. It was clean and comfortable. The sheets and towels were very good quality. We thought it would be noisy because of the location but it wasn't at all.

Review 6:Air con would have been nice but the large fans were fine, cool apartent with shutters

Review 7:Loved the location right in the centre of town with great places to eat and drink in the street below. Quiet location and comfortable apartment with all we needed at hand

Review 8:Old Palazzo turned into well equipped and comfortable hotel. Full of character, in amongst the restaurants, cafes and shops in the old town. Large room with seperate living area.

Review 9:All was good. Suggestion: provide wine glasses

Review 10:Vittorio was most helpful and friendly; our apartment was spacious and comfortable with some breakfast provisions supplied for our first day. The kitchenette is well equipped so we could cook a simple meal. It was a convenient base from which to explore the area. Paid parking at Piazzale Mazzini was nearby which was very convenient.Lots of ristorante & bar nearby. Very enjoyable stay.

Review 11:It would have been better to have wifi in the appartment and not only at the reception.

Review 12:Everything was perfect, there were even some snacks available to cover breakfast time.

Review 13:Absolutely Nothing.

Review 14:We were welcomed warmly and the fact that we had bicycles was no problem. The apartment was incredible. Wonderfully equipped and beautiful. We were so central we fell out of the door on to the Main Street and piazza which was gorgeous.

Review 15:Don't think there was anything we didn't like! Maybe a few more pictures on the walls but that's probably because it was so spacious!!

Review 16:It's an amazing building in a perfect location run by two of the nicest men you could hope to meet. We only stayed two nights but came to know Enrico and Vittorio as friends. They couldn't have been more helpful. When we go back to Massa M we will stay there again. Fantastic.

Review 17:Downside of central location was noise of restaurants in the square at night but more compensated by spectacular setting

Review 18:The location, the ambience & friendliness of staff

Review 19:We liked everything about our stay in Massa Marittima and the Rezidenca d'Epoca. Keep in mind that Masse Marittima is a thriving and important Tuscan town. If you are looking for quite rural life those places also exist.

Review 20:Set just off the main square just steps from shops and restaurants in the beautiful town of Massa Marittima. Fantastic rooms take you back centuries in time. Sightsee or spend the day at the beach. We had a great time and will come back again.

Review 21:No complaints whatsoever.

Review 22:Excellent and nearly luxuriously renovated palazzo from 16th century right in the center of the beautiful medieval town. Really very good value for money. We had to leave very early for the Elba ferry so cannot tell about breakfast. Elba ferry was only 45 min away and easy to reach; so also an excellent place for a stopover. Car parking some 200 m away, but easy to reach. Good restaurants nearby.

Review 23:Lovely, castle-like residence. In the heart of the town. Enchanting.

Review 24:Beautiful well renovated palazzo. Excellent support from the owner.

Review 25:wish we had more time to stay

Review 26:quaint old town

Review 27:noisy at night

Review 28:the building was beautiful and conviently located

Review 29:A bit noisy on the street side.

Review 30:It was so close to the heartof the town.

Review 31:Wi fi only accessible downstairs

Review 32:Location and ambience- it is a recently renovated mansion house in the centre of town

Review 33:We greatly enjoyed our week's stay at the Palazzo Malfatti which is situated right in the centre of Massa Marittima. The accommodation is very spacious and furnished with care. Lots of interesting pieces of art in the whole palazzo. Vittorio, one of the owners, did everything to make us feel truly welcome. We can highly recommmend a stay at the Palazzo.

Review 34:Nothing!

Review 35:The decor and ambiance were exceptional and I really would have liked to stay longer. The appartment was very well equipped and basic items were provided ( milk, breakfast items, salt, water) which was really convenient. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and comfortable.Enrico and Vittorio made me feel very at home and treated me like a member of the family. They gave me good advice and helpful tips ( I was preparing for a tour I will be leading in the near future ). The location is great for the town centre although a bit difficult to get down to if not arriving by car and with luggage but an easy walk down if travelling light. A great stay but too short!

Review 36:Nothing.

Review 37:The location was right off the main piazza and the room was excellent. Enrico and Vittorio were extremely helpful and made it easy for us to enjoy the the best parts of Massa Marittima.

Review 38:There was nothing I didn't like. The only little spot is the absenceof the hotel parking, but it's very common for the buildings intothe pedestrian zone of a medieval city, so, not a real problem. Besides, the owners were very kind and printed us a map with all the closestparking places. Nothing at all to complain.

Review 39:I liked the majesty of the building, the elegant yet comfy interiors, the location in the old city centre and the magic of feeling like amedieval queen. I enjoyed the dichotomy of having modern furnitures andancient walls, mullioned windows, even a fire place!

Review 40:Friendliness of welcome, general helpfulness of hosts, quality, spaciousness and ambiance of accommodation. Perfect location in atmospheric town.

Review 41:Not applicable.

Review 42:This is an atmospheric & historical building that has been tastefully adapted for discerning travelers/clients. It is just around the corner from the main piazza of Massa Marittima & although no meal was included in the package the kitchenette was stocked with milk, cereals, tea, coffee etc. that was more than adequate. This is a small establishment with about 8 rooms & is a perfect base for exploring this area up to & including Siena.

Review 43:The location in Massa Marittima was excellent. The residence is located on the main plaza. There are several restaurants and shops surrounding. It was very convenient, a great city, and very relaxing. The residence is very charming. It is a 12th century building I believe, but the apartments have been updated to modern standards. It was clean, had all of the kitchen necessities, and was very spacious. The staff was excellent and helped arranged a quided winery tour for us. One of the highlights of our trip! Be sure to check out the bell tower in Massa Marittima for views of the entire city and surrounding area. The nearby beaches in Follonica. The Lago de'Accessa (lake) is a treasure right up the road. We also drove a bit to the cascading hot springs in Saturnia, and up to Montalcino in the Brunello region. I would definitely recommend the Residenza d'Epoca Palazzo Malfatti if you are looking for a relaxing country-side atmosphere in Tuscany with enough options to keep you entertained.

Review 44:We had a very comfortable spacious apartment in the middle of a beautiful old town set in the magnificent Tuscan hills. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Soundproofing was excellent so we were able to fully enjoy our central location. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed at.

Review 45:This is absolutely one of the most charming hotels! A 13th century palazzo in which 6 apartments (studios and one bedroom) have been created by the owner. Mullioned windows with carved capitals, soaring vaulted brick ceilings, modern kitchen and bathroom, ideally located in one of the prettiest and most artistically notable small towns in Tuscany. Great location, great art, great cuisine in town. A gem!

Review 46:No WiFi

Review 47:Friendly and Professional Staff Amazing atmosphere Clean and comfortable Real Tuscany experience

Review 48:Great location right on the main square. A stunning building with large, luxurious apartments. Helpful staff.

Review 49:The location is central to the town. The owners were attentive to our needs made every effort to make our stay enjoyable.....which it was!
