Reviews for Dynjandi Guesthouse

Review 1:the shower is in another building, so you have to walk outside to reach there, but it is just 2 minutes walk, not a big deal

Review 2:Nice breakfast Good location The owner is very nice

Review 3:Nothing! Everything was awesome.

Review 4:Welcoming dog, very friendly hosts, helpful travel tips & wonderful breakfast w farm-raised eggs! Accommodations were absolutely wonderful. We loved Inga's willingness to show us around the farm & introduce us to the horses. Definitely a highlight of our Icelandic experience! Hope to return soon. :D

Review 5:We loved talking with our hosts; they were friendly, accommodating, and gave us excellent tips about hiking in the area. It improved our trip immensely. The facilities were clean and comfortable, and the location was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent as well.

Review 6:The location just beside the Ring Road makes it a brilliant place to stop. Also, the breakfast was fantastic and so filling. We couldn't even finish it all.

Review 7:The breakfast was very delicious. The owner lead us to visit their farm at the back of the house, we had a lot of fun to visit the farm and got closer to see the horses. The owner are very kind and nice to print out a list of places that they recommend us to visit in the morning when we check out. Although we had to walk outdoor to the shower place from the bedroom, however, that gave us a chance to look at the sky and check out the northern light. :)

Review 8:Stayed for two nights at this lovely spot on earth. Inga & Stephan has a warm attitude and gave us very good advises what to see and experience. Your words: "Come as guests, stay as friends" is truly true.

Review 9:Isolation of the rooms isn't that good, so you may have some noise when other guests are not of the quite type. Locks on the door rooms are a bit fiddly :)

Review 10:The hospitality wast just excellent. They provided us with some helpful information about the region and made us a nice lunch package when we had to leave very early. They even gladly helped us out with our flat car tier! The breakfast on bed was a nice touch. Overall our stay here was just wonderful and I can't recommend it enough in case you're looking for a stay in the area of Höfn.

Review 11:The bathroom is separated from the main building (less than a minute walk), which is okay for me, but I think it would not be as fun to do had the weather been really cold and snowy.

Review 12:We saw the Northern Lights when we stayed here, which basically makes everything worth it. The place is clean and they serve us really delicious and hearty breakfast in the morning, which is a huge plus.

Review 13:Very friendly couple running the place. She gave us extensive information about the neighbourhood, directed us away from the tourist trap restaurant to a better one and gave us directions to a nice tourist free hot pot and glacier lake. Breakfast was excellent and delivered to our room on the agrred upon time. Also the location made for some great Northern Lights watching without light polution.

Review 14:Loved the warm welcome from the hosts and the location close to town but far enough away to revel in the natural beauty of Iceland. Really nice getting up close to the beautiful horses after a very comfortable nights rest and fabulous breakfast. Much better experience than a 5 star hotel.

Review 15:Nothing

Review 16:These guys are so friendly and the hospitality was outstanding! They bring the best breakfast in bed. They warned us for the weather conditions who weren't not that good that day. So nice of them. We felt really really welcome. The bath house is very clean. Keep up doing the great work Dynjandi!

Review 17:The overall image is about a very poor and old Icelandic farm. Theentrance was dirty, but we asked to leave our shoes there. The room wasvery small and the shared bathrooms are accessible only if you gooutside the main house.

Review 18:There is a big discrepancy between taroom and the bathroom. It'slike they're from two different properties!! So, we loved the newand modern bathrooms: spacious, beautifully equipped. We liked thebreakfast: huge, tasty and many to choose from. Thanks, Step, for yourkindness and the permanent warm smile on your face.

Review 19:One of my favourite places to stay...farmstay with very friendly hosts (even d/l a very useful phone app to my phone providing info about Iceland weather conditions- also gave use great info about the next leg of our trip

Review 20:Accomodation in a quiet location with the beautiful surroundings. There are 3 bathrooms in adjacent building. We received a lot of information about the trips from the owner. Delicious breakfast was served in the room. One of the best accommodation in Iceland.

Review 21:Pretty noisy.

Review 22:Friendly hosts who gave us a lot of advice about things to do around Hofn. Lovely breakfast served in your room. Beautiful surroundings. You don't really have to share the bathroom because there are three bathrooms for three rooms.

Review 23:The owners of this gorgeous farm are the friendliest people I met in Iceland. The farm fresh breakfast was delicious and it was great to have in our room.

Review 24:The room is very basic and quite small. The bed was quite small as well. There is a toilet and basin for the four guest rooms in the house but the main bathrooms (with showers) are in a separate building so one has to walk outside and around. Accommodation is scarce and expensive in Hofn, so if you don't mind this inconvenience, then this place is ok.

Review 25:Location between the mountains and the sea on a working horse farm. About a 7 min drive from Hofn. Beautiful views and quiet. Friendly and helpful hosts. Great breakfast supplied on a tray to our room.

Review 26:We stayed in this wonderful place just one night, we wanted to stay more! The owners are very nice and they gave us lots of advice. We highly recommend

Review 27:Owners were quite aloof, and not very friendly. Arriving at 10pm we were told to go to our rooms and not make any noise - we felt like children being scolded. No common area to hang out in so you are stuck in your room. Breakfast in the room was nice in theory but several of the items just tasted off.

Review 28:Small guesthouse with a nice family feel. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable

Review 29:This was a wonderful stay made so by the owners who are passionate about their country, their farm and especially their horses. The property has mountain, sea and glacier views. A little gem.

Review 30:Nothing of note.

Review 31:Our group of 4 stayed one night at Dynjandi Guesthouse at the beginning of June 2015, staying in a quad room (1 double and a bunk bed). The farm is set on a beautiful, picturesque part of the Hofn peninsula. Surrounded by countryside, horses, hills and the sea, the scenery is just superb. The hosts are very warm and welcoming, offering useful insights and helpful tips for things to see and do and places to eat in Hofn, which is a short drive away. There are only 3 rooms at the guesthouse, so you won't feel overrun, with a separate out building with 3 big shower/bathrooms and an indoor wc in the main building. It's no particular hardship wandering out to the next building to take your shower after saying good morning to the horses. There was a lovely continental breakfast served in hampers to you in the morning, which we enjoyed at the table in our room. It was a nice change from the normal guesthouse experience. We loved our stay at Dynjandi. Its a wonderful Icelandic experience !

Review 32:We felt that this was true Icelandic experience, being on the farm, we got to meet all of the horses. Everything that Inga and Step recommended for us to do was perfect, they go over the top to ensure you have the best experience possible. Unforgettable! We arrived guests and we left like old friends when we departed. Xoxo ❤️ ,

Review 33:- schöne Lage direkt am Berg und Meer - nette Besitzer mit guten Tipps für Unternehmungen/Essen/Reiseroute - spätere Anreise nach Anfrage problemlos möglich - Frühstück im Bett

Review 34:Great place to stay! Lovely renovated farmhouse, very friendly hosts and great breakfast served in the room. Good location on Road 1 and also close to town.

Review 35:No comments - this is an outstanding guest house.

Review 36:Hosts were wonderful. Nice rooms, clean, and simple. The hosts evenprovided a tour of the farm and the chance to meet the horses. Thebreakfast was beyond what was expected. Close to Hofn which is a nicelittle town. Shared bathroom not an issue (3 in separate building, onein main building). Easy and clean.

Review 37:This guesthouse was our favorite stay throughout our trip to Iceland. The location is absolutely stunning. Wifi was good and breakfast served in the room was delicious. Beyond everything, Inga was the most welcomming host, sharing with us tons of information and being so helpful with everything

Review 38:Farmhouse between the ocean and the mountains, a place to get a real Icelandic feel - a bit of the main road. We spend an hour visiting the horses and listening all about them. Beautiful experience!!

Review 39:Shower in the other building but very close. It wasn't very easy to find the place, need look carefully at road signs.

Review 40:Increadibly friendly staff (young couple) ready to help you with road situation on you route next day and answer any question you have about Iceland. In the morning they offer wonderful breakfast in the room and short excursion to their horse and sheep farm.

Review 41:Practically everything was perfect. A special thank you for the owners who were very helpful and full of advice on places to visit and local hidden gems. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

Review 42:the only two not so great things are: showers in separate building and breakfast served in the room

Review 43:very friendly owners, awesome location, animals (horses, sheep)

Review 44:We were on our way north and planned on staying one night here. Inga was so helpful explaining the roads, and the weather forecasts, she convinced us to wait another day before setting out and we couldn't be more grateful. The roads in the north closed, and we had a lovely extra night in Hofn and got to visit with her adorable horses and baby lambs.

Review 45:The location is fantastic, so close to fantastic sights. The hosts were so welcoming and gave us great recommendations for food, sights to see and more unusual sights/activities that you otherwise may not know about. Perfect for one or two nights.

Review 46:Location is very good, very near to Höfn and view to the mountains and ocean. Small place with good facilities and very helpful hosts. Rooms are simple and pretty small but there's everything you need. Possibility to visit the stables to see horses and sheeps was very nice. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others!

Review 47:nothing: of all accomodations we chose during our travel, this was the best one.

Review 48:i liked everything lf dynjandi guesthouse, beginning with the kindness and nice time with Inga & Step. I was traveling with 3 friends. The room and beds were amazing, but nothing was comparable to breakfast: tasty, healthy, super yummy: the eggs came from the farm's chickens and the cakes had just been taken off the oven. Inga showed us the stables, the horses and sheeps and it was really nice to have an insight on Iceland from a real icelander :-) The showers and toilets, just a couple of steps from the main house, are wonderful, comfortable and very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone in love with nature and good people!

Review 49:Great location with seaview, cute sheeps and horses! Nice householder! We have our breakfast in room, which is really good!If weather permit, this will be an excellant place to view the northern light!

Review 50:Very friendly and hospitable hosts! Lovely breakfast. Owners made sure to notify us when the northern lights were out and looked up road conditions for us as well! Would highly recommend.

Review 51:One of our most memorable part of our road trip around Iceland! Inga and Step were so friendly, communicative and heedful they made our stay in Iceland even more awesome! Great incredibly beautiful location, warm and very clean properties, delicious breakfast! Inga was so communicative and open to speak with us, tell us about Iceland. We loved it and would highly recommend this place! Thank you dear Inga and Step for your personal and so professional welcome!

Review 52:Made to feel really welcome. Very comfortable family room. Great breakfast which was served in our room. Really enjoyed looking around the farm and chatting about the horses. Now know a lot about Icelandic horses. Superb location with stunning views.

Review 53:Shower is a bit of far in winter. It's noisy, because other guests chat loudly.

Review 54:The staff is a nice person who told us many useful information! There is a horse farm which has many beautiful and cute horses!

Review 55:Absolutely loved our stay! Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, offering excellent advice for our stay in Iceland. The guesthouse is beautiful and located on a wonderful farm that our hosts were very glad to show us around. A must stay!

Review 56:The bathroom in a separate building (but they are working on it), only one kettle for 4 rooms, otherwise it's fine.

Review 57:Staff speaks five languages :) Lots of food for breakfast, they are really friendly and helpful. Close to Höfn, easy to access.

Review 58:there isn't anything I don't like. though I need to brave through a 30secs cold to the bathhouse.. it wasn't that bad

Review 59:I love the environment the location. quiet and serene. Inga and Stephen are sweet and thoughtful. they give all the information they can and make the whole stay awesome with homemade breakfast !

Review 60:The foyer smells like horse though.

Review 61:It is located at the foot of a mountain with its pretty snowcap and facing the Atlantic Ocean. When you wake up you'll see all the horses outside your window. The best thing is that the owner lets us play with the animals in the barn and feed them. The room is very cozy and homy.

Review 62:The walls are thin and although guests are supposed to be quiet in the evening if you are a light sleeper this probably not the best place to stay.

Review 63:The couple who runs the facility are very helpful and full of information. The bathroom facility is clean and simple. The location is perfect for northern light watching and a relaxing evening away from the cities/towns. Morning breakfast served at the time of your choice was delicious.

Review 64:The host was incredibly nice and gave us helpful information for our trip. The breakfast she prepared was one of the best on the whole trip. The location in the morning was beautiful.

Review 65:They showed us around the farm, gave us a list of things to do in the area, brought us breakfast in bed. They are a nice young couple committed to ensuring the comfort of their guests. When in Hoffn or nearby book here. It is the best.

Review 66:We showed up past the normal check-in hours because of some snow storms but the hosts were more than happy to help once we made it there. They were excellent guides for places to eat and sleep during our stay and travels which is exactly what we needed! The bathhouse was cozy and clean and only about 15 feet behind our bedroom. Breakfast was amazing and more food than we could handle! Overall, one of the best places we stayed at all week.

Review 67:We loved everything. Owners took their time to ensure everything was provided. They accommodated us with a late check-in and took time out of their day to show us around and help plan our trip. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were like sauna rooms and that was very welcome coming in out of the cold! Highly recommend stopping in for a visit here. We hope to be back.

Review 68:Breakfast was included Super nice couple On a farm so you get to see all the horses, sheep, and chickens Gorgeous views of the ocean and mountains Worth every penny I spent

Review 69:Showers are in a different building, but they are beautiful to make up for it!

Review 70:-Loved the breakfast -Great tour of the barn, going over about every horse, how horses are reared in Iceland and a bit into the sheep and mating

Review 71:The couple running the farm and guest house were relly nice and kind. Gave an advices for best places to visit in South Iceland. Breakfast was delicious. In the morning we even got an excursion around the farm, showing us the hourses and telling about them. Really nice hosts.

Review 72:The bathroom is separate from the room, it was a little bit cold on the way to shower, but it was not a big deal.

Review 73:Really friendly host, showed us around the farm with lovely horses, sheeps and a welcome dog. Gave us lots of place to visit, especially "Hoffellsjokull", was really really awesome and we quiet enjoyed the natural hot springs with no other tourists there. Highly recommend!!

Review 74:the farm is situated in a very picturesque spot, across the ocean. The room is basic, but its atmosphere matches the nature! The breakfast was fantastic - plenty and delicious, with eggs from the farm chickens and home-made pudding. The host Steffan is a great guy - showed us around the farm, told anecdote about the animals, farming, gave advice about where to go and what to see. This stay was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland.

Review 75:The staff were so helpful and who doesn't like breakfast in bed?? Slightly out of town but obviously you drove there and the town is less than 5 mins drive away so definitely not a problem if you have a car... also saw some amazing northern lights from our bedroom window!!

Review 76:You know that one place you go home and tell everyone about because it was so amazing? That's Dynjandi. Not only are the accommodations beautiful and comfortable, the hosts went above and beyond for us when we stayed there. We had car troubles and were stranded almost an hour away, in the middle of the night, and Stephan came to pick the six of us up. The following day, we were served a delicious breakfast, Stephan let us stay past the check-out time, showed us around his gorgeous property with Icelandic horses, and even drove us around so we could recover our rental car. Our experience at the Dynjandi Guesthouse is a memorable one and we would recommend this place to anyone visiting Iceland. Oh, and you know that one place you go home and tell everyone about because it was so awful? That's GoIceland car rental. Don't rent a car from there.

Review 77:The shower block is separate to the rooms, which is actually not as bad as it sounds, although can be hard to get motivated to run out in the cold! There is an indoor toilet though. The guesthouse is small - only 4 rooms or so - but we were there on our own so still felt quite comfortable. I can imagine with all the rooms full it could feel a bit crowded in there.

Review 78:The owners were super friendly and helpful with our travels. Just as we arrived at the guesthouse a massive storm hit and lasted all night. They let us stay longer and helped us check the road and weather conditions every few hours - along with extra coffee as we needed it! The breakfast was plentiful and you could tell they went to alot of effort for us.

Review 79:- poor wifi signal in room. - beware that they have separate bath house, although clean, well decorated and adequate. Still, in winter it's uncomfort. - no common space. Common facilities are only kettle and tea/coffee - Thin wall. I had a very bad cough and need to go to toilet quite often during the night. I feel really sorry and uncomfortable to other rooms for the noise I made (cough and door open-close)

Review 80:*****The owners are really generous, kind and caring. They helps did our laundry! - The view of the house is great. - Breakfast is standard and serve in room.

Review 81:We couldn't pay by credit card and we had runned out of cash, but at least we could pay by bank transfer

Review 82:The staff was very kind and helpful. They prepare an awesome breakfast which is brought to your room. The told us about many places to visit around "out of the touristic guides" which were worthy.

Review 83:Hosts were fantastic, home was quaint, bathhouse out back was very spacious (3 different shower/toilet rooms). Breakfast-in-room was very novel and tasty! Host suggestions were spot on (it was far too windy to do the hikes we planned, and their suggestions became our new plans for that area)! Was offered a small walking tour of the farm, and got to meet their many horses, and learn more about the farm's history and more about Icelandic culture. Internet isn't super fast, but it worked perfectly for what we needed it for (email, blog updates). We'll worth it.

Review 84:Walls thin - could hear the group next door. Bring earplugs and you'll be fine.

Review 85:Step and Inga were amazing hosts - provided tons of information about what to do around the area and suggestions for our drive up north. Great hot breakfast with fantastic chocolate cake for dessert. Room comfortable and warm, bathrooms very clean. They did our laundry too!

Review 86:Wonderfull welcoming. Beautiful surroundings. Amazing time with the horses. Very nice breakfast. Valuable information provided about things to do, eat and visit.

Review 87:The hostess was quite nice and told us of good dinner places, as well as where we could see northern lights (and we did!!). And she and her husband also gave us tips for our onwards journey. Breakfast in bed is quite awesome!! If you have a shy bladder like me, use the toilets in their bathhouse, which are in the next building.

Review 88:Couldn't find it in the dark and fog. Need a bigger signage on the highway. The owners should ask the Gov't for signage on the highway.

Review 89:Farm setting in a beautiful part of Iceland. Good accommodations with new bathroom and shower building. Very friendly, caring couple who live at the farm.

Review 90:Nothing.

Review 91:Late check in all arranged. Very warm welcome from Step and Inga. Cosy. Breakfast served in our room at a time to suit. Beautiful surroundings. Less than ten mins drive from Horn Harbour. WC in main guest house.

Review 92:Showers separate from house Cash only

Review 93:Clean Feels like a house Clean showering facilities Northern Lights viewing! Very tasty breakfast Good wifi Friendly staff

Review 94:Inga and Step were really a marvellous couple who ran the guesthouse and the stable well. They were hospitable and attentive to us. Inga also brought us to see their beautiful Icelandic horses. They also made the tasty breakfast themselves

Review 95:One guest was a little louder than others, and we could hear him across the hall. But once we asked him to tone it down, the guesthouse was very quiet.

Review 96:Inga and Stephan bring true Icelandic hospitality to their charming guesthouse. They are delightful, helpful, and provided a lovely breakfast in our room, plus offered to do our laundry for us. Even though there are shared bathrooms, there are three full baths and one half-bath available, all very clean and neat.

Review 97:It's a really quiet place, they work hard on help guests find aurora, that's great for us!!And the breakfast is sooooo rich and make us more strength to keep go on....

Review 98:The room is not very sound prove. you can hear other people. the shower is in another building, so you have to dress up warm after shower to make sure you don't catch cold. There is only one toilet inside the house.

Review 99:The owner is very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is very nice. the view from the house is excellent.

Review 100:Again doors and latches in many places far too noisy, get woken up several times at night by others opening closing doors. Worn out pillows again and again in Iceland. Not good value compared to six other places we visited throughout.

Review 101:Breakfast was good, good quality bed

Review 102:Nothing to dislike. Everything were more than expected.

Review 103:The owners were a very warm, kind, friendly and helpfull young couple. The room was very clean, breakfast was served in it. Bathroom was brand new, very big and modern. The spot where the guesthouse is superb. Very quiet and you are very close to the nature with the fields and the horses around it. I will stay there in my next journey.

Review 104:The guesthouse is a few good km from hofn, in a farmhouse. Bathroomswere shared, which is inconvenient but pretty common in icelandguesthouses. Breakfast was served in the room and was reasonable.

Review 105:The room was small but comfortable enough. Hosts were nice andcooperative

Review 106:There is a toilet in the guest house, but to shower you have to go to a separate building (but it's not far, so it's not critical).

Review 107:Pretty location, farm with animals, lovely host who gave us excellent advice on things to go and places for dinner, good breakfast.

Review 108:Nothing!

Review 109:We loved our stay at Dynjandi. The owners were absolutely lovely. They showed us around the farm and let us see the horses. Breakfast in the morning was beautiful. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable and the bathroom is shared but there are three separate bathrooms that are clean and private. Great location, a very short drive into Höfn. Amazing views from the hotel. Would definately recommend!

Review 110:Great place manage by a lovely couple. We arrived in awful weather day. Lots of rain and strong wind. They made everything possible to make our stay better. They even baked a cake for their guest!
