Reviews for Diamond Coast Hotel

Review 1:Only compliant was im the Friday night of my stay I filled out the breakfast service chart and hung it on my room door to have breakfast delivered to our room but when I woke in the mornin the breakfast chart id filled out was still on the door.. so instead we had to go down for breakfast.. must say though the breakfast was top notch.

Review 2:Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 3:Room was bland bed could have done with a throw, most hotels have them, lights not working, light fixture broken in the shower could have fallen, windows not sealed we woke to a pool of water on the window sill!!! breakfast ok but it was all self service,we visit hotels for a treat, and what is wrong with someone making you a pot of tea you're paying for it! we will not be returning.

Review 4:Nice location, lovely views, spacious, quite a large bar area nicely decorated lovely colours.

Review 5:I would like if the hotel had a spa but I knew it did not when booking.

Review 6:Lovely spacious clean room. Staff very helpful and friendly. We checked in just after 9 pm and the friendly waitress in restaurant looked after us so well. Lovely self service breakfast.

Review 7:Nothing worth commenting on

Review 8:Breakfast. Food was good, as was service. And none of that blaring pop music that many Irish hotels force on you in the breakfast area.

Review 9:very little sleep noisy doors banging and still awake at 3pm. Receptionist talking to co-worker in their own language and guest waiting. not a good experience

Review 10:very little

Review 11:We paid the bill for dinner and when we were leaving a member of staff ran after us and asked us very loudly in front of other residents to pay the bill. No heating and furniture filthy.

Review 12:Location

Review 13:Breakfast poor, plenty of food put taste poor, no table services all self service in four star. No shower cap or other bits in bathroom no wash towels would expect this in 4 star

Review 14:large room

Review 15:The carpets all needed a good clean, the broken windows were off putting. The face that you can see into suites on the second floor which are full of disused/broken furnishings. Maintenance is lacking on the whole site.

Review 16:The staff were friendly and the overall service was good.

Review 17:Sometimes there was a little bit of a delay in getting a drink when ordering it with food.

Review 21:We had a beautiful big room but it's a pity we didn't have a sea view instead of looking at bungalows.

Review 22:We got a super big room. Huge bed. Loads of space. Loved the decor on the foyer. Bar was lovely. Breakfast was nice fresh and hot.

Review 23:Would have liked extras in the room without having to ask i.e. shower cap, proper soap/shampoo, lotion etc. - I think in a Four Star Hotel one should expect this.

Review 24:Staff very good all round. Room size great. However, for 2 nights didnt really stay in room too long. Breakfast very good.

Review 25:for such a big hotel a pool would have been great

Review 26:Children s Club was great the staff of this children club were excellent and showed a real interest in the children and the activities were great.

Review 27:Noisy beds and all wooden floors in the holiday house. But blame Booking .com for messing up. Hotel was lovely.

Review 28:Lovely staff. Booking.com forgot to send booking! No worries the hotel put all 7 of us up in a nearby house and added free wine. Flexible meals and prices. Essential with 3 generations. Fun music in the bar. Thank you.

Review 29:Neglect of maintenance in rooms, iron stained, curtains nothanging properly, hooks missing, TV not working on arrival.

Review 30:Comfort and cleanliness of room Breakfast except pre cooked food

Review 32:Our room was huge, great for my 15 month old to run around!! The bar food was very good too!

Review 33:My only tiny complaint was that my steak was over cooked slightly in the restaurant, but that really is picking at straws it was still very tasty!

Review 34:Staff were very helpful and friendly, we were unexpectedly upgraded to a huge room, with a fantastic view. The room and facilities were very comfortable, the breakfast was amazing - everything you could ask for was provided with an array of hot and cold options.

Review 35:Food wasnt nice at all we ordered twice from the bar menu and our order came out wrong each day and staff didnt have a clue wat to do walkin around we were waitin over half hour each time for the food it was freezing coming out to us... breakfast was a joke like rubber food

Review 41:Our recent stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the room was really spacious and comfortable. The location is great and we will be returning soon.

Review 42:There was a lot of noise from wedding guests from 4am to 6am, they were kicking doors and shouting. The next night was ok.

Review 43:Big rooms, pleasant staff very clean.

Review 44:Nothing negative to record.

Review 45:VERY SPACIOUS RELAXING ATMOSPHERE IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL. ALTHOUGH IT WAS VERY BUSY WITH YOUNG FAMILIES THIS DID NOT INTERFERE WITH OUR STAY.IDEALLY LOCATED FOR GOLFING BREAK WHICH WAS THE PURPOSE OF OUR VISIT.

Review 46:Very disruptive sleep, our door was kick by drunken guest at 5am in morning, also shouting on corridor. This was reported to security but no apology to date!

Review 47:Location was good beside beach. Very spacious room and bathroom.

Review 48:Their breakfast could have been better but it in no way took away from my experience

Review 49:Rooms were great staff were nice and helpful. The hotel is just lovely

Review 50:The view from room 145 40 bins I counted and the sound of crows early in the morning didnt help. hotel was not full so fail to see why we were put in that room

Review 51:liked the room could not fault it for space, cleanliness etc Loved the location as we could walk to the beach/town

Review 52:They was no dance floor in the residents bar only carpet which is difficult to dance on.

Review 53:This hotel was very clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and a great breakfast, with good in house entertainment.Overall a great hotel .

Review 54:There was nothing for older children to do. We expected a pool table or games room. It would have been nice to have some music in the bar.

Review 55:Large room nice and quiet. Football pitch.

Review 56:no complaints

Review 57:clean comfortable helpful and the weather was great to add to the holiday. If we go back to Mayo we will try to stay here . The porridge was the nicest i have ever tasted.

Review 58:room was extremely cold and heat was turned off when we arrived ! Bed felt cold and poor quality bed linen and towels very hard . Our so called quiet room was near the lift and could be heard when in use

Review 59:Staff friendly

Review 60:Our family room was above function room so could here some noise from the band. It didn't particularly bother us but families with smaller children may have found the noise annoying

Review 61:Huge, comfortable bedroom. staff helpful and very friendly. Bar food tasty and reasonably priced

Review 62:Having to pay for the weekend before we even got the key of the room! I had to ask the waiter in the bar to clean the table. He was putting the dinner down on a dirty table. Not very obserevative, people waiting to give an order and nobody noticing them.

Review 63:the room was very comfortable and clean and airy! room staff very helpful.

Review 64:Hotel a little bit out if you want to go into the centre of enniscrone and the hairdryer wouldn't reach near a mirror.

Review 65:The hotel staff were very friendly and the breakfast was lovely. The room was so big and bright with all the windows in it and everything was very clean.

Review 66:The room was very dusty & there was a used towel left in the bathroom. The curtains were worn down & the chairs and carpets were really badly stained. The breakfast was very poorly & not much choice. Most of the hotel amenities were closed and it just felt very abandon.

Review 67:The location is great! Not far to walk to the beach or town.

Review 68:Bed was most uncomfortable. Breakfast very limited on first morning of stay. Not many guests there. on Second morning, much better selection - lots of guests. felt it was overpriced for what it offered. Outside of property very shabby.

Review 69:Staff very friendly. location good.

Review 70:We ordered our meal on evening of arrival in the bar. I ordered the Chicken Stir fry which was very disappointing. I had it on a previous visit last year and it was lovely and presented beautifully. The meal I received on Friday looked as it had been reheated and was not made to order. I was absolutely starving so I ate the meal and did not complain. I just want to add there was only about 10 people staying in the hotel that night so it wasnt that it was overly busy. I do not like complaining but feel it may be beneficial to get the feedback.

Review 71:Staff were very nice and helpful. Rooms were lovely.

Review 72:The hotel was beautiful, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the location was fantastic and the rooms were lovely and so comfortable, highly recommended.

Review 73:I didnt really have a bad experience but one little drawback was that the bed was a little uncomfortable and a little small. Rooms were very spacious.

Review 74:I loved the food it was beautifully presented and piping hot, was served quickly and efficiently.

Review 75:while it was St Patrick,s week everything was well presented and all staff were very pleasant deal with. The grounds were well maintained food excellent

Review 76:We did really like the hotel, however we felt it was missing a pool or some additional facilities...

Review 77:The hotel was very comfortable, standard room sizes were massive, really relaxing

Review 78:Staff were poor. Bar was worst, waited for 30 mins to just put in order for food and it was quiet. People just walking round doing nothing from what I could see. Frustrating

Review 79:Thought room was nice and location was good. Bed was comfortable

Review 80:the entertainment provided by hotel not great, but you wouldn't mind that

Review 81:I liked staying at the diamond coast, the staff were very nice and friendly, breakfast delicious and rooms very clean and beds comfortable.

Review 82:If the hotel could control the weather that would be good ;-)

Review 83:Wonderful luxurious hotel, would stay here every time i visit the North West if i could. Rooms are a great size, staff are very helpful, breakfast is good and view is amazing!

Review 84:Check in staff were rude to us and she seemed to change her attitude to us after serving an elderly couple. The rooms were too hot , the noise from the first room was unbearable so we had to change after an hour then the second room was as bad but that was the weather. The paint was chipping off all around the window and we found crisps on the floors of both rooms.

Review 85:The food in the bar was brilliant.

Review 86:Nothing

Review 87:My husband & I stayed for 2 nights for my birthday. We had a brilliant stay the bedroom was massive & very comfy. The food & staff were great also. We will definitely be returning!

Review 88:The hotel and staff were very friendly. I recommend the food in the bar which was freshly cooked. I wanted to walk the beach which I did and really embraced the biting sea air. The time of year was quiet but we enjoyed the peace.

Review 89:Ye price of the rooms was ridiculous especially as ye rooms look very dated the main light fixtures weren't working in bathroom or the bedroom overall very disappointed

Review 90:It was very handy as we had a wedding there

Review 91:Very noisy at night, found it difficult to order from room service menu; lasagne or burger not available but 3rd option of steak, the dearest item on the menu was.

Review 92:Room was spacious

Review 93:Stale smell in Bathroom. Very difficult to get a good nights sleep as rooms are poorly insulated. Could hear guests banging doors and children running through the corridors until all hours at night and early again in the morning. Ruined our stay.

Review 94:Size of the room. Good Bar Food was nice for evening meal

Review 95:No toiletries in bathroom, but available on request from reception. Squeezy Dove soap in dispensers.

Review 96:Huge rooms, beautifully furnished. Generous hospitality tray with biscuits!

Review 97:There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel

Review 98:For me it was a beautiful friendly hotel Lovely setting grounds well maintained. Staff very friendly and excellent food

Review 99:restaurant was 2/3rds empty on Saturday nite but yet was booked out at 7.30 when we wanted a meal and when we were checking in we were told no need to book it .food in bistro was only fair

Review 100:Bar service on our first night - I had cleaning agent sprayed over my wine when I asked for the table to be cleaned! Flies around the juice machine in the morning!

Review 101:The location is the best thing about this hotel...Enniscrone beach is one of the nicest in the country and its great to be able to walk to it from your hotel...

Review 102:There was a wedding on the Saturday and the noise level from when we went to bed around 1.30am until 8.00am was high. Our room was above the front entrance. There was also a lot of noise on our floor.

Review 103:General areas and room was spotlessly clean. Great care is obviously taken. Staff friendly and welcoming Breakfast was delicious and served with a smile.

Review 104:no tea making facilities in bedroom, some music in bar on thusday night would be nice

Review 105:lovely spacious hotel service is excellent and rooms large spotless and beds so comfortable and breakfast is best i have eaten in any hotel in ireland and europe will return for winter break soon

Review 106:The architecture is very peculiar, building looks like a prison! Just not, well top notch on the day...

Review 107:Room was spacious and comfortable, had a great nights sleep. Good value...

Review 108:There's nothing I didn't like.

Review 109:The Hotel is an excellent Hotel. A lovely comfortable hotel. The breakfasts are absolutely brilliant, they even serve little fried potatoes. As we were out and about all day in the car , the breakfasts really filled you up. We stayed here before 2 years ago and couldn't wait to stay there again. The family rooms are massive we had a double bed and two single beds, the middle of the room is empty which leaves pleanty of room for a family of four. I would highly recommend staying in the Diamond Coast Hotel.

Review 110:3.00pm check-in is much too late with no concierge or baggage storage offered by check-in staff. For a large family hotel, we were amazed there was no leisure facilities or swimming pool available in the hotel. The quality of evening entertainment left a lot to be desired! You need to go see for yourself!

Review 111:Rooms were spacious, staff very friendly and overall atmosphere was holiday like. Breakfast was superb.

Review 112:The amount of kids running around at 1145 at night. I'm a mum but there should be a time where kids are not allowed down stairs. I went into the bar at 11 and there were kids running in and out of the doors that would be my only complaint guests want to be able to go for a few drink in peace not seeing other kids running around when your own is in bed

Review 113:Went there for my granny's 90th birthday. Food and staff were very good. Room were a great size and the kiddy club was brilliant

Review 114:Small downside, the hotel had no swimming pool and gym, especially when weather was poor. If the hotel had these facilities, it would be the icing on the cake. Thank you.

Review 115:Everything about the hotel was 2nd to none. Location good for visiting other places in Mayo. Entertainment at night was great, with good food and drink, and pleasant staff behind the bar.

Review 116:Just a personal feeling : it's the typical beach family vacation hotel and that was not what we expected coming for B&B. But that was ok.

Review 117:The size of the room and the view from the room over the ocean. The parking lot (gratis)

Review 118:Absolutely nothing. Everything superb, and I have recommended your hotel to a lot of friends.

Review 119:Everything and in particular the family band that played one night, they were just fantastic. Just longing for an excuse to go back!!!

Review 120:We had a great time at the Diamond Coast Hotel. The food was great and the staff were friendly. The hotel was spacious and quite child friendly. There were two weddings in the hotel while we were there but it did not affect us in any way. I'd stay again.

Review 121:The restaurant let the whole place down. I felt sorry for the front of house waiters and waitresses who had to make constant excuses for the chef and management. We waited one hour for our meal one night and was told the chef closed the kitchen because he was under pressure. What was that all about???? Cold food, delays, frozen chips - not the kind of thing you expect in the restaurant of a four star hotel. Chef needs a wake up call as do restaurant managers. Have to say breakfasts on the other hand were excellent.

Review 122:Rooms excellent as was the facilities throughout the hotel

Review 123:felt it was quite dangerous to have a screw screwed into the window-bord in the room as a stop to the window opening too far, especially as it was not a ground floor room. Would advise parents with young children to check this. Also, their hair-dryer flex was only just long enough to reach from a plug to a mirror. Some of the bar staff were not too friendly.

Review 124:really liked the entrance lobby to hotel. Bedroom really spacious, beds very comfortable. its proximity to the brilliant enniscrone beach was good.

Review 125:Nothing to complain about

Review 126:Room size you could have a game of tennis rooms are huge. Breakfast great massive improved from a few years back. Great choice for food evening and breakfast

Review 127:Cannot fault this place at all.

Review 128:Spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Beds are really comfortable. Food is tasty, especially Breakfast. Good size bar area and the unexpected entertainment at night [a singer] was a real bonus. Hotel is easy to get to from any direction and the beaches are out of this world.

Review 129:lack of staff.

Review 130:huge bedrooms,lovely breakfast.

Review 131:Nice location, taste breakfast and bar, big and comfortable room

Review 132:Wether

Review 133:Nothing all was good

Review 134:It was a nice modern hotel

Review 135:The location close to beach golf course and small town.

Review 136:Can't say I didn't like anything

Review 137:Staff very helpful and friendly food excellent would go back

Review 138:On a whole food was only ok at best (breakfast and bar food)

Review 139:Huge room with comfy bed and big tv also

Review 140:At breakfast fruit poor and in dirty cabinet.

Review 141:Great spacious rooms. One of the largest standard rooms we have ever stayed in. Friendly staff
