Review 1：The food was terrible. Rooms were tired looking and smell of smoke was unpleasant for myself as a non smoker. Internet was chargeable and for the nightly rate they charged this was poor service.

Review 5：Reception Manager service is very slow.we need to wait at least 20 mins for check in. Even though we paid 9700/-plus tax. Room was very ordinary.room 331. Room service,front desk,security all are interested only in getting the tips but not service. It is really frustrating.

Review 10：We were given a better room because we did not like the room given the staff at the restaurant offered us a buffet lunch to die for .We were treated with utmost courtesy at all times . I was travelling with my mother whobcannot walk much and a daughter who is 6 they offered to send packed lunches when we wanted to go sightseeing and also send the breakfast to our room due to my mothers health .

Review 14：Varanasi is a real experience and I'm glad I did the extra trip from Delhi. The hotel was a great base with good food and friendly staff. The bar is a good place to swap stories of the trip and get local knowledge from the bar manager.

Review 15：Rooms are very old, clothing are very old. Very bad smell in the room and the corridoors.very old bath, toilet . The facilaities and the quality I can class this as a two star property not any more.

First room there was a lizard, second smelled like cigars, third they sprayed so much perfume to disguise the smoking smell that my eyes burned, on the fourth we stayed, even though is was dirty, as the other rooms probably were too. When i say dirty please consider that we were in an ashram before that. We even had hair from the other gest in the tub.

Review 48：Hotel clarks - Varanasi One week from Jan 29 to Feb 5 2013 Room wasspacious, with a sofa, a desk and a table with four chairs. Woodenfloor, good, better cleaning and washing. The sofa was smelly and thecushions all stained. Under the coffee table a woolly carpet with verylong 'threads', cappuccino color. Uncleanable. Two twin beds,largish. Sheets too narrow, will not stay put. Two brown blankets in thewardrobe, starched like homeless dorm blankets. One with visible stain.Probably unwashed since age uncertain. Bathroom largish, with tub, noventilation whatsoever. Adequate toiletries but shower not working, aplastic bucket provided to make up for it. Tub faucets both leaking fromthe point where they attach to the wall, water runs along the wall andonto the floor to a drainage hole. The tub plug didn't hold so bathwater emptied with you in the tub. The toilet was flushed pushing veryhard on a big button in the wall. The flush was so powerful that itspilled all over the seat and on the floor. Only way to make it work adhave your deposits not floating out was to give three very brief pushesand then dry the seat out anyway. Breakfast: one restaurant and onecoffee shop. There were two groups of tourists the first couple of daysso the larger restaurant room was open, the coffee shop closed. Thatroom is cavernous and unwelcoming. Breakfast included a range of Indiandishes but fairly poor choice for western visitors. The bread is nottoasted by customer to his taste but comes from the kitchen alreadytoasted and placed in the buffet. You go and get it after half an hourit's been toasted, you eat it cold and hard. The little jams are thesame as you get in the cheapest guest house even in this country. Wechose not to have breakfast there though it was included in our bookingplan and went into town to the Open Hand Cafè. . On the last day thegroups had left, the restaurant was closed and the coffee shop open.
