Reviews for Hotel Edda Höfn
Review 1:One of the breakfast room ladies "eye inspected" us whenever she came in and out the breakfast room (do not know why, did not experience that in other Iceland hotels). Very unpleasant.
Review 2:nearby good restaurants. good room but very expensive. Good breakfast (but the front desk said that THEIR computer showed that we need to pay), so be sure print out your confirmation and SHOW them that you have breakfast INCLUDED.
Review 3:The room, while clean, was very small. Like most hotel rooms outside Reykjavik, it is also quite expensive.
Review 4:Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We had an excellent view of the water.
Review 5:I bought a breakfast which i didn´t eat it. When left, I want a take-way cup of coffee, the staff ask me pay for it. Bad experience.
Review 6:clean, nice location
Review 7:Thus was by some way the most expensive hotel of our fortnight in Iceland and yet it had no breakfast included, no tea and coffee facilities in the room, not even a TV! The bulb in the main lamp was blown and there was toilet paper stuck to the seat on arrival.
Review 8:The location and the glacier views
Review 9:We left a "do not disturb" sign on our room door & had hung our towels up to indicate we didn't want them changed as the hotel had suggested on their "environmental policy." We returned to find someone had been through our room and also changed all the linen.
Review 10:Good breakfast & good location to all the sights. Clean & very functional hotel.
Review 11:We liked everything about this hotel. Nice views out the windows, friendly staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast. Newer hotel, and didn't have 'thin walls'...don't think we heard our neighbors even though the hotel was full.
Review 12:It is a new hotel and I don't think their heat was regulated. We were hot at night. But the room was nice and new and the bathroom very nice. But it is not really in the middle of the lava field like their picture seems to indicate (but that was a minor deal).
Review 13:It was a new hotel and the staff was kind enough to take us and pick us up from the Blue Lagoon. It was close to the lagoon.
Review 14:Lack of facilities: no tea/coffee making facilities in room, years of dust behind radiator, no bin in room, no soap in bathroom, misable "meet and greet" from manager (Icelandic stoicism?)
Review 15:Great location, right by the harbour.
Review 16:Great place! Walking trails right behind hotel, great restaurant just down the street. Staff pleasant and helpful. Try lobster, it's yummy and tender and caught fresh.
Review 17:Not great value for money, very expensive for what you get. For that sort of money we would expect a TV in the room and at least breakfast included (which was also very expensive). Doesn't serve any food for lunch or dinner.
Review 18:We stayed for 2 nights late May. Do yourself a favour and visit Pakkhaus for the best seafood/lamb in town, best we had in Iceland. The hotel itself is clean and welcoming, the room is comfortable and clean however very basic for what you pay per night. The harbour is great right on your doorstep with a few restaurants in walking distance. Lovely seating area outside of the weather is good and not windy. Free parking outside.
Review 19:There is no in room TV, the bathroom is tiny, no in room coffee or tea but you can buy it. The internet was only available on the house computer. Breakfast can be had but at a price. It is also the only property of the eight we used to take payment upfront.
Review 20:Location
Review 21:Room is extremely small and has no wifi. Thin, cheap and uncomfortable mattresses on small single beds. Reception staff looks very stern and unfriendly - as cold as the weather outside.
Review 22:Breakfast - quite a good spread
Review 23:The staff was polite, but seemed too stuck in professional mode. There really isn't anything wrong with that, in fact it's more what is common in the States, but having previously stayed in a couple other hostels and hotels, I was accustomed to Icelandic host being gregarious and more down to earth. No soy milk for the kaffi.
Review 24:Location was easy to find and right next to a couple restaurants. Perfect proximity to the glacier climbing in Skaftefell while riding the ring road. The lobby area looked newly upgraded, the deck was picturesque and it backed on to a trail where you can walk, run, or bike around the water. Breakfast was great.
Review 25:Price is huge. Corridor color was pale and dim, I strongly recommend a change because it doesn't give a good impression.
Review 26:Location is excellent, in hofn harbour. Rooms have gorgeous views of the see and hofn, and are very clean. Wifi in the room was not good, but in the corridor and common areas the wifi is excellent. I think it is overpriced, but I don't think you would find something similar in the town.
Review 27:Great setting, good beds, comfortable space in room, staff very helpful and accommodating, nearby restaurant near the new visitor center outstanding a short distance from the hotel, very pretty setting in a nice neighborhood, near to a supermarket
Review 28:This was the only hotel I couldn't get complimentary breakfast included even though it was the most expensive during my 8 day stay in Iceland. Otherwise I'd stay here again.
Review 29:The place is modern, clean, and neat. The beds are comfortable. We had an excellent view of the water and glacier. It's walking distance to some great restaurants. Staff was friendly.
Review 30:- very expensive with very little to show for the price (I recently rented an entire apartment in central London in the middle of summer for the same price per night!) - no free wifi - no breakfast included - not a big room - small bathroom - weak shower - no bath - no blackout curtains - not good value for money
Review 31:- nice location - comfy beds - view from the room (ocean, mountains, glaciers)
Review 32:Absolutely worst breakfast. The some pieces of bread for sandwich had green fungus. It’s really impressed. Hot meals in breakfast was absent unfortunately it was standard in Iceland.
Review 33:Good location with good view. One side of the hotel has view to the bay other to the port. The main restaurants of Hofn is placed in 5 minutes walking.
Review 34:No TV or tea or coffee making facilities in room which were expected Very poor value for money in comparison to similar rated hotels during road trip around Iceland Although not poor service, this can be described as being indifferent
Review 35:Front desk staff was very helpful. Room was basic, clean and comfortable.
Review 36:None

Review 38:Good clean room Good location Pleasant staff
Review 39:Very average yet expensive hotel
Review 40:Nice location
Review 41:It is far from the bus station, no connection between them, just by walk!at least 20 minutes!
Review 42:Beautiful sea view from the room.
Review 43:Expensive for what feels more like a hostel.
Review 44:The location is great.
Review 45:no fridge, bad curtains
Review 46:big room
Review 47:An excellent stop off on our round Iceland tour. Very good local restaurant. Rooms very comfortable
Review 48:Room floors were sticky, wifi was spotty. Nice gent at the front desk, beautiful lobby area.

Review 65:No wifi in room No coffee in room Expensive for the facilities supplied
Review 66:Great view and location
Review 67:Expensive No TV in the rooms
Review 68:New and renovated Very clean Good breakfast Friendly staff
Review 69:Clean and comfortable. Good lo ation. Helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
Review 70:No coffee in room twin comforter on a double bed no black out curtains
Review 71:Breakfast Close to the best restaurant in hofn
Review 72:too expensive hotel for what you get
Review 73:We were surprised that the room did not have a television or telephone or a hair dryer. This was not a major problem but it would have been nice to know when booking the room.
Review 74:The location on the water is very nice.
Review 75:The Hotel Edda chain is very affordable, clean and honest and you get good value for your money. The location of this hotel in Hofn was perfect and the views are beautiful on a clear day. The nearby restaurant was amazing.
Review 76:Overpriced, and at that, a separate charge for breakfast in a region where breakfast has been historically provided with the room charge. Sad to say, as pleasant as Hofn is, I will not go back to this hotel.
Review 77:Stunning location on the harbor of Hofn, modest but clean and quiet hotel. This appears to be a new hotel.
Review 78:Very comfortable hotel.
Review 79:Overpriced, unfriendly staff
Review 80:Rooms were so small! One little tiny trashcan and no Kleenex at all. Missing many basics.
