Review 1：Not really a bad experience, but a suggestion to the management. Staff are helpful and pleasant, but over four or five visits have conveyed an impression of boredom. A more personal welcoming approach?

Review 2：This is a surprisingly large hotel well located just up the street from the Duomo. It is quiet, and upper level rooms have views. Surprising in Italy was an effective split system air conditioner in the room.

Review 5：The lack of investment in upgrading guests’ bathrooms and the furnishings (both in guest rooms and public spaces) gives the guest the feeling of being in a Motel 6 or Days Inn rather than in a charming hotel in one of Tuscany’s sweetest hill towns.

Review 6：The Il Sole has an excellent location in the heart of medieval Massa Marittima. And yes, there is electricity and hot and cold running water, and there is a breakfast service at the same dairy-bar tables and chairs the hotel offered in 1990. There is even Wi-Fi available, at no extra charge, but only in the hotel’s small lobby. Moreover, if you are driving, the hotel offers parking in the garage at the bottom floor of the hotel, which is accessed from the narrow street running behind the hotel (the hotel is on the slope of Massa Marittima’s hill, so the rear of the building is two floors lower than the lobby entrance on Via della Libertà.) These are the reasons we tend to return to the Hotel Il Sole on our annual visits to the town--essentially price and location.

Review 7：The hotel personal is not very welcoming, there was no fridge in the room, the cleaning personal entered the room even if I left the do not disturb sign outside.

Review 8：The location of the hotel is really great, in the vecchia cità a couple of meters from the duomo. We also witnessed a local medieval holiday, il ballestro, which was very beautiful. The breakfast was ok and the price is reasonable, so we would come back.
