Reviews for Milltown House Dingle

Review 1:There was a little mold in the bathroom. Need a better ventilation system in there?

Review 2:The staff was wonderful, Sheamus was the coolest, breakfast was delicious, LOCATION, spacious rooms with comfy pillows. Loved this place!

Review 3:The facility meets the criteria for a 3 star lodging, but not a 4 star. Windows were dirty, ceiling in bathroom had mold and cobwebs. There was a bar room, but the room was always dark in the evening and we never saw staff in there to serve. We heard there are new owners, so hopefully they can make the necessary changes.

Review 4:Location is in walking distance to town. Adequate parking. Room and bathroom were large, very comfortable and offered great views. Breakfast, and breakfast staff were fantastic.

Review 5:No shelter to have a cigerette under in the rain outside and no ash trays . Bar closed at 9 but we were never told this on arrival. The grass outside could have done with a cut and they never lit their heaters outside by the seating areas.

Review 6:Relaxing place and near enough to dingle centre to walk.Very clean room and tasty breakfast also.Loved seamus the dog.

Review 7:The room we stayed in was on the back of the building and overlooked an overgrown area. When we booked , we booked direct and were not offered a choice of rooms. This statement contradicts what the owner said. For the location of our room we felt that the 125 euro for the night was excessive. We wee not offered complimentary drinks on arrival as per what owner said.

Review 8:The staff were friendly. The breakfast was very good.

Review 9:The house needs a good clean and change of decor. Everything a bit tired. No hot water for shower!!!Not happy!!! Made our last night in Kerry very disappointing

Review 10:The lady who served breakfast was extremely pleasant.

Review 11:Very disappointing. After reading all the reviews we were excited about our stay. When we arrived and were shown to our room it was very dusty and the smell of mildew was over powering. It was so bad we stayed elsewhere for the night even if it meant forfeiting the amount paid. I was told to call the next day to discuss my disappointment. I have called and emailed with no response. The experience has made me wonder about all the reviews I thought I could trust.

Review 12:Beautiful site. Great views

Review 13:We had to change room at 23:30 to accommodate noisey neighbours. No reflection in the price. Bright lights shining into bedroom with no info on when they were going to go off. Nobody available to ask. Made for a poor night's sleep, and cranky the next day!

Review 14:The breakfast was excellent. Variety of real fresh fruit. Tasty and filling fry. Good coffee.

Review 15:Don't like dogs....and they had a massive dog walking all round the house. Breakfast very basic and it wasn't clean.

Review 16:Sorted out a meal and taxi

Review 17:We were greeted by Seamus the Irish Wolfhound and our host Jonna who were both very friendly. The house was beautiful, right on Dingle Harbor and just a short walk into town.

Review 18:We got a fab welcome from the staff and their beautiful wolf hound Seamus. Everyone could not have been more friendly to us and our son Tom. We will definitely be back. Paula

Review 19:Got turned away by staff without offer of help although we had a confirmed reservation thru booking.com. Called booking.com and after 20+ minutes on hold was told to hold further while they contacted hotel. Reservation reinstated. Staff unapologetic about mix up. New staff appeared and were wonderful. Complimentary drinks.

Review 20:Seamus! Patrick and Stephen were both very welcoming. They gave us insider tips on where to eat and what to do in Dingle. They made our stay fantastic.

Review 21:I am really confused as to how this place got such good reviews. Location is lovely, staff seem nice however for the €170 we paid for our room(1nt) it was very disappointing. Food was not nice, service was poor, room was very basic and grotty. No hot water. I expected a lot more considering what we were charged. I have stayed in nicer hostels for €10 a night.

Review 22:The location is lovely.

Review 23:Moist extensive place we stayed at during our trip....compares to other B&B or hôtel. There are better deals to be found in Ireland. We booked last minute and the location was good.

Review 24:The room was cramped with little space to walk around. The make up table was cluttered with espresso machine, teas, tissues, no place to put anything of ours.

Review 25:Breakfast was fine, nice room, good coffee

Review 26:Lots of space in room overlooking water, very comfortable and even Nespresso coffee machine. House is located at the very end of the bay, about 20 minute walk to the bars and restaurants of Dingle.

Review 27:We love the Dingle Peninsula, and this was our best stay, ever! Do try to book the rooms facing the lawn and Dingle town, as they are large and come with BEAUTIFUL views. Stephen is wonderfully welcoming, including sharing a brief history of Robert Mitchum's stay there while filming Ryan's Daughter. We were fortunate that his American co-owner, Patrick, was there at the same time, and just as welcoming - and charming. Seamus, of course, is the proverbial icing on the cake.

Review 28:The bed was easily the most comfortable that i have slept in on my 5 week trip. The staff were great and very knowledgeable and the location was fantastic.

Review 29:We can't recommend Miltown House enough. Our stay was over and above our expectations from our arrival. The staff need to be commended on their welcoming manner and the little things they do to make your stay special. Special mention must go to the delicious breakfast and Seamus the dog. We will be back.

Review 30:Would have preferred a friendlier, more professional greeting at the time of our arrival.

Review 31:Seamus the wolfhound was a highlight of our stay, but everything else was just as wonderful. Beautiful breakfast, great location. Nice big room with comfortable beds.

Review 32:Everything was really great, nothing to complain about at all.

Review 33:It was the best accommodation we've had on our trip in Ireland. The room was very spacious and clean, huge bed with a good mattress, a calm room. The host was really nice and accommodating and the breakfast was outstanding with a very big variety. It was a very good value for the money and the location was nice, too. Also we adored Seamus, the gigantic and adorable calm dog! :) thank you!

Review 34:Just back from visiting Milltown B&B and I have to say that we had a great time, loved the warm welcome from Seamus to irish wolfhound, he even brought us into the house on arrival, just like a porter :) will definitely return

Review 35:We had nothing to complain about. It was lovely.

Review 36:Both Steven and Deidre are just lovely. They can't help you enough. The quaint bar room and inviting hearth room make this B&B stand out amoung others. The views of the water and Dingle were breath taking. Breakfast was quite nice with typical options like museli, yogurts, fruit and a nice selection of freshly baked breads, but the additional offerings of hot, custom-cooked breakfasts in addition, leave everyone fully satisfied. Will absolutely return for future visits!

Review 37:Great place to stay for the night! Try not to book on a Sunday, everything is closed. However, Deirdre was a fabulous host and breakfast was amazing!!!

Review 38:• it was a cold day and the room was quite cold. So on a breezy day the old windows don't seem to keep the cold outside very well...

Review 39:• a great familiar surrounding: There are very nice people and the biggest dog you've ever seen expecting you! • very good breakfast • The house is near to the restaurants and pubs of Dingle (5-10 minutes walk), but still in a very quiet place… • The room was big and in a classic way, almost Victorian like, stylish

Review 40:No real negatives....

Review 41:The personal service and the ambiance that was created by the owner. The unique nature of the hotel devoid of that typical sterile purpose build feeling of many establishments The setting of the hotel with views over Dingle Bay was amazing

Review 42:We had to leave!

Review 43:Everything about our stay was lovely. We were greeted by Seamus (the gorgeous Irish wolfhound) and Stephen (the owner). We arrived on New Years Eve and the place was a bustle with festivity. We got recommendations for food (great suggestions) and set off to town. When we returned after an early dinner, we had a drink at the bar (Dingle Gin, from the distillery on the corner!!) and watched the NYE fireworks across the harbor. Simply lovely evening! We walked into town and hit up a pub before the fife and drum parade and NYE countdown. The walk back wasn't bad, despite having a few pints! We LOVED the breakfast in the morning. Excellent breakfast (the mini-Irish is the perfect size!) and also great fun watching Stephen and Seamus romp in the yard! Beautiful rooms, beautiful views. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

Review 44:This is the best location and accommodation in Ireland. The staff are wonderful, the rooms a delight and Seamus the Irish WolfHound is beautiful. Stay as long as you can here in Dingle at the Milltown House it is the best part of Ireland.

Review 45:Charming house with friendly hosts. The view on the Dingle bay is absolutely superb. Really confortable bed and very quiet. And more important: a lovely "little" dog, Seamus the wolfhound !

Review 46:Seamus wasn't there on our first night!

Review 47:The rooms are very comfortable with lovely views over the bay. The breakfast is fantastic and the owners are super friendly and obliging. This was our second stay and we were not disappointed. A truly lovely place to stay in Dingle as Milltown House is tucked away just outside of the town in a perfectly tranquil location but close enough to get into town easily.

Review 48:While we enjoyed the experience immensely it was some what disappointing to have a large Irish wolf hound greet youwneh you stepped out of the car and to be see walking around the reception area, while I am a lover of dogs I beleive the dog could be restrained to allow guests to enjoy the experience, as I say for myself not and issue but others in our party they were a little disappointed with the dog

Review 49:We enjoyed the experience, in particular the charm of the accomadation, which reminded us of the old movies withe seagulls calling in the background and fishing boats in the harbour. The town of Dingle has appeal with wide array of shopping and eateries.

Review 50:great view of the town and harbor, walking distance to Dingle town. Comfortable room and great breakfast. Friendly staff. Reasonable rate but had off-season discount.

Review 51:This was my favourite stay on our trip. staff were great, location and view was great, room was huge with a lovely shower and comfy bed. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 52:Rooms are in need of update, but that plan is in the works

Review 53:We loved our stay at Milltown Inn. Steven was an excellent host and the grounds were lovely, food was fantastic.

Review 54:price seems a little high? tubs should have grab bars and or non slip pads?

Review 55:moved us to seaside view room while we were out touring for no extra charge- beyond what I would expect- most places would require you to move your own things

Review 56:We should have stayed a 2nd night!

Review 57:Charming spot in beautiful Dingle. Beautiful spacious rooms with very comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast in sun room with view of water. Cozy common areas. Friendly, helpful staff/owners. We loved Seumas, their gentle and friendly greyhound! We stayed in 4 star hotels/inns throughout Ireland and this was our favourite!

Review 58:We loved the warm welcome from Stephen and Seamus. The sleep was excellent, with fantastic beds, pillows and shower. Our room was a great size, and it's just a short walk into the town. Can't rate the hospitality enough. Breakfast in the sunroom was delicious. Sad to leave! Would definitely stay again.

Review 59:Perhaps 1/4 mile too far outside of town to be perfectly walkable post inevitable late nights down town, that last bit being over a bridge without a pedestrian path. But this does mean the location has a much better view of the town from just over the water, than other comparable properties.

Review 60:Greeting from Shamus the Irish Wolfhound, (and his owners). Lovely grounds with views, large comfortable if a little dated bedrooms.

Review 61:That we only booked one night!

Review 62:This was a great place to stay - far enough away from Dingle to provide peace and quiet but still within walking distance of the town. Wonderfully pet friendly, unpretencious and comfortable place to stay on the waters edge. Breakfast is an absolute delight.

Review 63:There was nothing I didn't like.

Review 64:The staff was engaging and thoughtful. The room was perfect--comfortable bed, great view, quiet (and I am a pathetically light sleeper). Best breakfast we had in Ireland. Couldn't have asked for more.

Review 65:We paid just over $500 Canadian for 2 nights. Although the hotel was nice, it was comparable to other B & Bs in Ireland that would have cost half that. I, personally, did not see the extra value to rationalize the high price. Perhaps if it included dinner, it would have made more sense.

Review 66:We stayed at Milltown House for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was the highlight - lots of selection including fresh berries, scones, and banana cake. You could also order a hot breakfast as well, and they also had a large selection of cereals, yogurt, and granola bars. The hotel was within walking distance to Dingle. We were also treated to a complementary bottle of champagne, strawberries and chocolates for our honeymoon!!!

Review 67:Great location right on the Bay with just a quick walk to town. Beautiful sunrises in the AM, followed by a wonderful home-made breakfast. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean. We loved our stay here!

Review 68:The very warm welcome by the owner and attentiveness. The Irish Wolf hound in the garden. The playground for kids. The breakfast, the bed, the view. This place just has everything you need and still very very reasonably priced. Will definately go back

Review 69:Nothing

Review 72:The room was a bit small and we couldn't flush in the bathroom :/

Review 73:Awesome bed, beautiful view in the morning, the breakfast was really good!

Review 74:We got a rate rate on a terrific room.

Review 75:Nice location on the edge of small town Dingle. On the waters edge with great view. Excellent period styled villa.

Review 86:The breakfast was good

Review 87:Wifi is perfect! Deidre and staff made it very welcoming. Great Irish wolfhound. Will be back with more family !

Review 88:Room walls were a bit thin!!
