Reviews for Greenmount House

Review 1:I would have like a more spacious room if i was staying longer but the room we stayed in was perfect for one night.

Review 2:That it felt like we were getting a treat. The breakfast was brilliant.

Review 3:Owner/manager was friendly and very nice. Goes out of his way to make you feel welcomed and to tell you about the town. Staff were lovely. Sitting by the fire and reading a book was divine. Chatting with other guests over an early evening glass of wine, beer or cup of tea was a real treat, too!

Review 4:Amazing hotel with great views of Dingle Bay. The owners are fantastic and went above expectations. Beautiful and clean rooms with lovely sitting rooms and a warm fireplace in the winter. Beds were turned down in the evening by staff and little chocolates were left. Breakfast was varied and phenomenal. Definitely the place to stay in Dingle!

Review 5:This was by far the best place we stayed during our two-week trip! While it's been a family-run business since the 1970s, it feels more like a country, exclusive retreat. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious, quiet, and nicely decorated and painted. Our bathroom even had heated tile floors. The feather comforter made us feel all warm and snug. And the pillows were perfect and plentiful! Then the breakfast was amazing! Made to order and served in a beatiful dining space overlooking the Dingle bay. These people know how to do it right!! Bravo!

Review 6:Location was great, just a few minutes away from the pubs and the restaurants ! The room was spacious and confortable and had view over the bay which was awesome ! The breakfast was lovely and the staff very helpful

Review 7:Our experience at Greenmount was fabulous from beginning to end. The house is beautiful and cosy. A home away from home. The rooms are really beautifully decorated and are spacious but cosy. The view from the house is really amazing and we really enjoyed breakfast overlooking the bay. We will most certainly be back!

Review 8:Leaving!

Review 9:Warm welcome, attention to detail, comfort, super breakfast with great selection, great view from breakfast room, Book Exchange, local knowledge.

Review 10:Amazing place and even more amazing people. A proper b&b style accommodation, food was beautiful and the place was cozy. We liked our stay here more than we like living in our own home.

Review 11:The fact I had to rush away to work in the morning and not get to proling the deliculious breakfast spread they put on.

Review 12:Everything was excellent and surpassed my expectations! Very comfy and clean.

Review 13:Nothing not to like... this property sets the bar at a new level for B&Bs

Review 14:Beautiful property. Best location. Extraordinary breakfasts. Fantastic views. Luxurious rooms. Great value !

Review 15:Everything! The location is excellent with a short walk to town. Staff was exceptional. Breakfast included some of the best food of our whole trip. Room was great with an awesome view.

Review 16:Gorgeous facility and fantastic view of Dingle bay. Gary was a gracious host and went out of his way to make sure we knew what to enjoy while in Dingle. The room was amazing - spacious and very luxurious.

Review 17:Everything was absolutely great! I travelled with a friend and we stayed at various hotels/ B&B at different cities and this was by far the best place. The service was great. There is a little walk to the main restaurants but it was def worth it. I plan to go back to Dingle just because of this place! It was clean, organized, super friendly and a beautiful place.

Review 18:Best accommodations of the trip! Clean, cheerful and spacious room; delicious breakfast; friendly and outgoing hosts. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

Review 19:Ground floor location of room gave those walking around property full view of our room. We had to keep curtains closed at all times.

Review 20:Location, friendliness of staff, owner

Review 21:N/A

Review 22:A gorgeous guesthouse in a great spot with outstanding views. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We had a fantastic room-very spacious with a huge bathroom. I couldn't recommend Greenmount House enough and would definitely stay there again. Oooh, and they do an AMAZING breakfast!!

Review 23:The bed was large and comfortable, the room was large and comfortable, the bathroom was huge! Everything was clean. It was clear to us that they spend a lot of time trying to anticipate what guests will want. There are a lot of thoughtful little touches throughout the hotel (reading magazine in the nightstand, serve-yourself wine bar (or chilled white wine on-demand), they'll make you a sandwich anytime, laundry service... I could go on and on. The staff is very helpful. They were able to recommend activities, restaurants and bars. The view from the dining area is outstanding. the hotel is a 10 minute walk from the city center. The breakfast was fantastic.

Review 24:Beautiful location, wonderful staff, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast. This is an incredible place to stay with every detail attended to. The staff was also incredibly welcoming, personal, and knowledgable. Overwhelmed by what a great experience we had!

Review 25:Comments made about my children, such as--joking that I could have a calm breakfast once the children left the room). Little snobby attitude in general -- not appreciated.

Review 26:Good food. Beautiful rooms. Extremely clean.

Review 27:Shower could have been hotter

Review 28:Staff were so courteous and helpful Great room and little touches like advice on walks? Restaurants etc , bed turned down and chocs left were all little things that made a great difference .

Review 29:Perfect! Amazing view of the water and surrounding area, delicious food, and wonderful, warm, friendly staff. We loved it, our favorite plac we stayed in Ireland.

Review 30:Low

Review 31:We felt comfortable, and welcome, from the moment we walked in the door. The family who runs this place made us feel like long-lost cousins returning home. And breakfast was home cooked and delicious. Thank you! (We'll be back)

Review 32:Best B&B we have been to!

Review 33:The attention to detail in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality was spectacular. The breakfast spread was beautiful and delicious. Would definitely come back.

Review 34:Had to wait 15 minutes for table at breakfast. Chilly room. Steep uphill walk back from town.

Review 35:Well appointed room with lovely view. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

Review 36:The room was quite luxurious and had many little touches like fresh water, chocolate bars, bed turndown with chocolate and complimentary tea and cake on arrival. It all made for a very enjoyable stay but sadly we were only there for one night!

Review 37:We only wish we could have stayed for a few more days. The Greenmount House is a perfect location in Dingle, Upper John's Street turns into the main street through the center of town so there are many shops, pubs with music and restaurants in the area. The view from our balcony of the bay was just lovely and relaxing. An added attraction was a small pasture just to the right with a few cows. The room was comfortable and quiet. A staff member, Maria, multi-tasks between the front desk and in providing service in the dining room where we had a lovely breakfast in a beautiful atmosphere. Her delightful attitude added to our stay.

Review 38:The Greenmount exceeded my expectations of a B&B. What was there not to like! I have now been spoiled. Maria and her brother were the perfect hosts. The house was filled with such charm. First class all the way!!

Review 39:Stayed in several nice B&Bs while on vacation in Ireland, but Greenmount was definitely our favorite. Great welcome from Gary; huge, well-appointed room; lovely bathroom; and great beds. Hope to return.

Review 40:We didn't have control of the room temperature. It was the only item about our stay that was less than perfect.

Review 41:Fantastic location, great breakfast, and a wonderful staff.

Review 42:The owners, the Curran family, were extremely helpful and pleasant: nothing was too much trouble. The property is well designed with excellent views over Dingle harbour.

Review 43:Wifi is in and out (not this B&B, but Dingle in general). Everything was great!

Review 44:Very friendly staff, beautiful house/rooms, 5 min walk from city centre, beautiful location on a hill overlooking Dingle.

Review 45:It felt more like a guesthouse then B&B.

Review 46:The breakfast was out of this world with a wide selection. Very great location and views. Clean and spacious rooms.

Review 47:Nothing.

Review 48:A beautiful setting for this hotel overlooking, as it does, Dingle Bay. A friendly welcome and courteous staff throughout made our stay a memorable one. We stayed for two nights in a very comfortable room. There is a small, reasonably priced bar and packed lunches can be ordered. An excellent choice for breakfast - very substantial! Between 5 to 10 minutes walk to restaurants and 15 minutes to the harbour. An ideal base for touring the peninsula - we would thoroughly recommend it.

Review 49:Nothing!

Review 50:On arrival met with very warm welcome this family run accommodation was of a very high quality. Was there for my sons wedding staff were extremely helpful & friendly could not fault any part of our stay. Would highly recommend it . Loved dingle will take away many happy memories. 5 star. N

Review 51:nothing

Review 52:The breakfasts are great, the views are amazing and it is a 5 minute walk into the main street where all the bars are, all round fab place to stay.

Review 53:There was nothing negative about the hotel or our stay.

Review 54:The location of the hotel is set back with a direct view overlooking the bay, harbour & village.. The views were breathtaking. The hotel was spotless with beautiful furnishings and the owners were fabulous.. Nothing was too much trouble.

Review 55:The bed was extremely soft and comfortable. We had a spacious room with a skylight and a small balcony with a view of the harbor and town in the distance. The hotel smelled great and looked immaculate. The family members who work there are genuinely hospitable. We can't wait to go back.

Review 56:Our stay was wonderful. The place was exceptionally clean and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast was amazing and made for a truly enjoyable trip!!

Review 57:The owners who run this are very friendly and go out of the way to meet your needs. They even offer a laundry service which is very reasonable. The view from the dining room is excellent. Breakfast was one of the best we have had on our current trip to Ireland.

Review 58:What a fantastic place, I can fully recommend this family run business. Every detail has been thought of for your stay. A few minutes walk to the town centre, its location is perfect.

Review 59:The room and facilities were top notch. The service was excellent! Always willing to go above and beyond to help plan your trip and make your stay more comfortable.

Review 60:Everything! Gary & Marie are so welcoming & helpful- you really feel comfortable and at home as soon as you arrive. Location is great - It's just a short walk into the charming town & has beautiful views. The room was spotless & breakfast was great too!

Review 61:Tiny remark: No hair conditioner in the bathroom. Having said that, had I asked, they probably would have given me one.

Review 62:Staff were super helpful and genuinely friendly, breakfast was so good that I always ate a bit more than intended, the view from the room was epic and all rooms were finished to a really high standard and were spotless. I usually don't walk barefooted in hotel rooms - here I did because it was really clean and fresh. Bath tub is great, too.

Review 63:Wifi hardly reached our room. It was good in the common areas but it's nice to be able to utilize it in the privacy of your room

Review 64:Gary was a great host! The breakfast was included and was amazing plus you could order other hot dishes at no additional charge! The shower was great and the bed was very comfy! The location was perfect... GREAT view of the city and only a five minute walk into town.

Review 65:Nothing..this is a family run b and b by a family who have this business down to a fine art - this place is better then most hotels

Review 66:They turned down our bed and left chocolates for us...they cooked 2 breakfasts for my greedy partner. Modern comfortable and super hospitality..2 mins to main st

Review 67:Such a wonderful spot! Being there out of season we really appreciated the warm welcome! Thought it was going to continue raining Or would have stayed longer! Plan to come back next time in Ireland!! Loved it! And the staff!

Review 68:From the moment we arrived John and his staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The rooms and facilities were immaculate! The best place my wife and I have ever stayed.

Review 69:We had a one night stay here and it was excellent. Everything was first class and the breakfast one of the best we have had over many years of travelling. Will be back!

Review 70:We loved everything about Greenmount House! The home is beautiful and so clean. It is located on the hill with an excellent view. Gary and Marie were so friendly and made us feel at home. The breakfast was so good! They have an excellent selection of books to read up on Irish history and walks to take to see historical things. There is a nice fireplace to sit next to while you read (which was nice in February). This was the highlight of our trip! I will definitely stay here when I return!

Review 71:On night one I was cold despite the 4 blankets on the bed which I thought were very heavy. I solved the problem on night two by getting an extra blanket from the closest outside our room but I felt there was far too much weight on me with the 5th blanket. A duvet would have been preferable.

Review 72:The family atmosphere was terrific. It felt like a family home but with a luxurious feel and breakfast was amazing too. Lovely friendly family and staff.

Review 73:This was a gorgeous place to stay in. The furnishings and decor were both elegant and luxurious. It was obvious that no expense had been spared in creating this beautiful guesthouse. The staff were very courteous and the owner in particular was very charming and helpful and made a special effort to chat with all guests and advise them on how to make the most of their stay in Dingle.

Review 74:Heating in room was a bit problematic

Review 75:Very friendly and efficient service from manager and staff. Fantastic breakfast with great variety. Irish whisky on the porridge was a first.

Review 76:Gary was very welcoming and full of useful tips and advice and stories. The bedroom and all other areas of the house were spotless, beautiful attention to detail, everything worked despite my best efforts to find anything that didn't work. The breakfast mix was great as were the views out the breakfast room to the bay. Bottle of water was filled each day, free tea and coffee, some sweets and chocolates on the pillow, a lot of little touches everywhere that showed the focus on excellence that reflected its high end scores and status that they have been pursuing with success for many years.

Review 77:I was staying in Dingle for a wedding but it was pouring rain so Gary offered me a lift to the village and also posted my iPhone charger after I forgotten it after my stay. A very personal touch and would definitely recommend staying in the Greenmount.

Review 78:This guesthouse is the ultimate in comfort. If planning a few days in Dingle, this is the place to base yourself. Lovely rooms, sensational breakfast, helpful people but lots of room to yourself too.

Review 79:Having to return home!!

Review 80:The setting was fabulous. I admired the staff for their attention to detail in every aspect. Breakfast selection was original, healthy, and so tasty.

Review 83:Nothing! I can't imagine anyone finding fault with Greenmount House. It is being run by people who care and who like to do a good job.

Review 84:Everything was wonderful. We got a great welcome from Garry who couldn't do enough for us, The room was spotless with every facility. A turn down service with chocolates was that extra touch. Terrific breakfast in a wonderful setting. This was not our first time staying here and we booked another stay on our departure.

Review 85:This guesthouse is more like a hotel. It's just beautiful, so comfortable and the staff are very welcoming & helpful. Dying to go back again already!

Review 86:We really enjoyed our stay at the Greenmount house. The house itself is very cool - big and inviting and many hallways and charming sitting rooms. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. We enjoyed breakfast - I had an omelet with fresh mushrooms and tomatoes. The views from the front of the house (breakfast room) are spectacular - looking out over Dingle and the bay. The host recommended that we cruise up to Slea Head and drive the 3 hours around the tip of the peninsula - which was one of the best parts of the trip. Absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend staying at Greenmount House!

Review 87:The family were very welcoming. Beautiful guest house in a very good location. Would definitely recommend this guest house if you are staying in or around Dingle.

Review 88:This is a terrific gem -- more like a well run hotel than a B&B, yet the friendliness and helpful staff are you feel like you were in their home. The breakfasts we had we the best we had in 16 days on the road. Ca't wait to go back.

Review 89:Not a big deal, but wifi connection was iffy in rooms, tho it worked well in public spaces.

Review 90:Our room was very comfortable and the view was magnificent from a hilltop. Short walk into town. Friendly owners. Great breakfast.

Review 91:It was great to have the inn so close and accessible to the little windy streets of Dingle, but to have room to breathe, park the car, and stretch out during down time.

Review 92:Wifi didn't work in our room. Maybe we were too far. But we went to a common room and watched some tv and used the wifi in there. Slightly inconvenient but the living room had a larger tv so it was ok!

Review 93:Staff was very nice and helpful in recommendations. Breakfast was great. Room was huge (booked a king bed), and the bed was very comfy! Nice bug bathroom. Like the common areas. Nice location to restaurants. Will return if ever back in Dingle!

Review 94:Everything. They made us feel at home and explained everything we needed to know about the local area. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in in a long time. We had a problem with our car breaking down and they couldn't do enough to help us. Really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely return.

Review 95:the room was really warm in the night (25 degrees) and temperature could not be lowered We also didn't have hot water in the shower

Review 96:breakfast view comfortable room

Review 97:Heat was turned on and off at odd times, but it may just be local practice.

Review 98:The room was a good size and the bathroom fixtures top shelf. The breakfast room has a spectacular view of the harbor and the food was cooked to order.

Review 99:This was a superb place to stay. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast was first class as were the facilities. Our stay in this home was very pleasant and memorable. Our suite was cleaned and refreshed well every day, with tea etc replaced unlike some other places we stayed in. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Review 100:Elevated position, panoramic view of Dingle & Bay. Very friendly welcome, accommodation perfect, breakfast amazing, the quantity , quality and choice of food was a gourmets delight. We were celebrating 50th anniversary and this did not go unmarked with Chocs and Card left in room. We will definitely go there again...

Review 101:Wifi was a little slow

Review 102:Breakfast, view from dining area, helpful staff and proprietors, parking, easy walk into town, but not in congestion, very clean.
