Reviews for Villa Marcello
Review 1:I'd have rooster and dog for dinner the next day. They are not part of the property but outside, you do hear them. A bit of a shame they serve the standard (not very good)breakfast as everywhere. Doesn't fit the place and there are great pasticcerie nearby, I'd pay a bit extra for that.
Review 2:Great place, original, very nice staff.
Review 3:We knew before staying about stairs so not a problem to us . Wifi was in Lobby but ok for us for an overnight stay
Review 4:Great half way for us from Rome airport to Matera .No English spoken but couldn't find a more helpful couple Had trouble with our car and went out of his way to help us ...Room upstairs was huge and bed comfortable . Spotless and breakfast was superb ..beautiful fresh food for breakfast which was a treat .Enjoyed Mexican dinner in the evening which is just across from villa and food was better than we have ever had while on holiday in Mexico . Highly recommend this experience to fellow travelers . This is an older type Vila and we were on the top floor but didn't dampen our enthusiasm for the experience. Very safe parking free.

Review 6:We absolutely love this place! A beautiful old house with modern facilities (free wifi in the rooms, good shower, big bathroom). Free parking. A very quiet and peaceful place. The couple who runs the place was really kind and helpful.
Review 7:Too bad sooo many stairs. Were offered first floor room instead, but only after we accepted (because of having to lug baggage)!were told it is a superior room which costs an extra 10 Eur!
Review 8:Beautifully kept up and renovated, tasteful furnishings . Great bathroom and terrace. Almost alone as out of season.
Review 9:Only one restaurant nearby but there was a large grocery store and a takeout pizza shop.
Review 10:Large room, huge bathroom. Friendly helpful staff. Easy parking. Quiet. Wonderful fresh pastries.
Review 11:The bathtub did not seem functional, the stopper didn't work and there was a handheld shower head but appeared very awkward to use. Perhaps I'm mistaken but it looks like they put everyone up in the attic.
Review 12:The people were very helpful even though they did not speak a word of English. The women carried one of our suitcases up 5 flights of stairs and prepared a very thoughtful breakfast. Good Directions were given to find pizza and later enjoyed on their patio to which they provided real cutlery for. Lovely property and building.
