Reviews for B&B In Piazza

Review 1:We had to check in by finding the bar next door and getting the key from them. The staff there were helpful but all requests had to go from them to the manager whom we never met. They couldn't do breakfast earlier than 08:30 so we decided to leave without eating. Even making a payment the night before was a hassle because the manager wasn't prepared to come and take our money. Finally we had to pay the bar staff and were not given a receipt. So, if you're hoping for a warm welcome and personalised service, don't stay here.

Review 2:The room was attractively decorated and comfortable. The view onto the main square is great. Location is excellent.

Review 3:The position, on the SE old floor overlooking the main square and church. It also had tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which is rare.the owner went especiLly to Sienna to get nice fresh croissants etc

Review 4:The hotel added 60 euro to the bill because we checked out 30 min late. Although we were at the breakfast table with the responsable, she didn't inform us being late. The lady didn't communicate very well in English and was very rude when asking about this rather criminal way of taking money from us.

Review 5:Federica has done a fantastic job transforming the old castle keep into beautifully appointed and decorated accommodation in an amazing location. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Review 6:I start with the small stuff: air in the room was sticky, wifi-code given to us didn't work and rooms are not sufficiently isolated. Our neighbour was watching a late night action movie. We could hear everything, also him sneazing and snoring. But this are all minor issues that we could have dealt with without any problem. What we really didn't appreciate was the way we were treated by the owner/manager. In over 30 years of travel in more than 60 countries we've never experienced such an unprofessional meltdown. Only because we arrived at 8 a.m. for breakfast, 30 minutes earlier as advertised. However, this breakfast hour was given to us by the guy who received us upon arrival. Little did we know that this would provoke such a hefty reaction with the manager/owner. She screamed at us, insulted us repeatedly, insulted Swiss people in general and totally lossed it. She also wanted to retain our official ID-cards and at one stage threatend to call the police. We were stunned, payed the room quickly in cash (didn't get a receipt for the hospitality tax) and left our room as fast as possible without any breakfast at all. Should you want to stay overnight in Monterrigioni we recommend you reserve a room at the lovely hotel close by. There certainly somebody will also receive you in person upon arrival. At a total normal arrival time of 17.30 nobody was at the B&B. We were told to pick up the key at a restaurant near by. Would the owner put in more effort in her hospitality business and would she have received us in person, the whole misunderstanding wouldn't have happend. Later on we received an SMS of the guy who had given us the key and promissed us the breakfast hour. He had forgotten to pass on the message and felt very bad. This is of course not ideal but can happen. Why the lady had to scream and insult us because of this will remain her secret.

Review 7:Great location right in the historic centre of Monteriggioni. Decor of room.

Review 8:Breakfast was in a small restaurant next to the B&B. It was small and no frills. The only thing that spoilt the breakfast was one of the waitresses. She looked like she did not want to be there and serving us was something she hated to do. Luckily, of the three days that we stayed there, there was one waitress who was fantastic, I hope you will get her when you stay there.

Review 9:The rooms were lovely, clean and well decorated. Our room overlooked the courtyard of the village. Federica was very helpful and made us very welcome. We will definitely go back.

Review 10:Breakfast was a bit confusing. You have to go next door and basically you get coffee and a pastry

Review 11:I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice and our room was spacious and comfortable. The views from our room were amazing and the town itself is very charming. Best meal we had in Italy

Review 12:We had a beautiful room overlooking the plaza. Everything was super clean and fresh. Monteriggioni is very charming (especially the evening and morning, when this tiny village is not overrun by tourists).

Review 25:Location, right on the main square but very quiet. Very friendly and helpful Federica. Cleanliness.

Review 26:We did ask for twin beds but the room was prepared for double only. It was all right but I think the hotel should ensure in future that requests are adhered to.

Review 28:this b&b is a real gem and Federica, our host, couldn't have been more helpful and nice.
