Reviews for Barr Na Sraide Inn
Review 1:We had to check out early the next day and there was no one onsite and our car was locked into the parking area. We had to call someone in and they were very put out that we would wake them so early to come check us out. Other than that it was a great place to stay.
Review 2:The bar underneath draws a lot of stags and hence very noisy in the rooms afterwards. I stayed there on the night of 21st of November 2015 in room number 21. When I returned to my room at the end of the night I found the door open and a stranger in my bed asleep, clearly under the influence. when I reported it the next morning, I was told the night porter let in this person without checking if they were staying there or not and never cross checked name against room number. Totally unacceptable
Review 3:Central location, clean and warm
Review 4:This was my second stay at Barr Na Sraide and it was fantastic. Patricia & Co. make you feel welcome and comfortable from the time you walk through the door until you say goodbye. My room was perfect and breakfast was delicious. I look forward to my next visit and stay at Barr Na Sraide!
Review 5:Nothing!
Review 6:Bar na Strade is a lovely place in a great town. Very professional, clean and comfortable. It is a place I would highly recommend to anyone. Hopefully, when I visit Dingle I will stay there again. The staff are wonderful.
Review 7:Car park full, had to park on the street. Room overlooking smoking area. Price of €95 a little steep for a twin room with no breakfast.
Review 8:Very friendly lady at check in. Good location
Review 9:Did not have breakfast as this was an extra charge. Laundry equipment was close to room but was antiquated and only accepted certain coins. Staff was business like but not friendly.
Review 10:Good location with ample parking. Family room with older children was good sized, functional and clean.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:Good sized room. Laundry available. Comfortable bed. Could choose to have breakfast or not and could choose to have cooked breakfast or continental which was very good. Plenty of parking.
Review 13:False advertising. Information provided suggested that room included breakfast! After I paid with credit card online, with no refund available, I was sent a message stating that breakfast would cost an additional 20 Euro for my wife and I. When I confronted the owner about this issue when checking in, she blamed the booking company. What hogwash!
Review 14:Location was fine
Review 15:Nothing all good.
Review 16:Great location in centre of Dingle and staff very friendly good family atmosphere. Lovely breakfast and great value for money, we booked last minute.
Review 17:The pillows were as hard as rocks. The towels were clean but very worn and frayed.
Review 18:The location is perfect for walking the town. Off street parking is a big plus. Patricia is very friendly and accomodating
Review 19:Unfortunately my bathroom had moulded grout up nearer the ceiling which should be controlled better. The rest of the bathroom was very clean. This is the only thing I mark down as a negative but it is easily corrected. I still would go back to them and recommend them. This issue may have only been in my room.
Review 20:Overall a fabulous place with great breakfast choices.
Review 21:Had booked and paid for breakfast included but on arrival was told that breakfast is never supplied when booked through booking .com. The receptionist/owner was not very approachable and made an inappropriate comment about the wheel that wa s squeeking on my suit case. would not return here again
Review 22:It is a long uphill walk from the bus stop. I doubt that many other 80 year old men who use a walker will be toting luggage up Green St., so mine may not be a valid observation. In any case, l look forward to my next visit
Review 23:The staff!!! Out of the way hospitality. Everyone treated me outstandingly but I am especially indebted to Grainna
Review 24:great welcome, overall the friendliness of the staff, great atmosphere and good breakfast. very clean beds were very comfortable and tea/coffee facilities.
Review 25:We stayed 2 nights which was fine. Room may be a bit tight if one was staying for a week.
Review 26:Firstly, what a beautiful place to visit. The area around Dingle is breathtaking. Perfect as a B&B. Comfortable with friendly staff & a good breakfast.
Review 27:Very helpful & friendly staff!! We arrived quite late and asked for a pot of tea to take the chill off and Patricia brought us not only the pot of tea but cheese and crackers too! Great to park the car for the entire time and walk everywhere!
Review 28:Great location, easy access to loads of great music, food and sites. Private car park meant we didn't have to worry about our car for the whole time we were there. Staff was very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to help us sort out our plans. Food was very good.
Review 29:Very good value place to stay. Perfect a b&b and a pub all in one. A very pleasant landlady who gets the balance just right friendly but not intrusive. I will stay here when next in Dingle.
Review 30:Great B&B in the heart of Dingle...walking distance to everything. Washer & Dryer facility was a huge bonus as this was midpoint on a two week trip and we were able to do our laundry! Off street parking was also nice
Review 31:If planning an early departure park on the street. Parking lot gate is secured until staff arrives at 7am-ish.
Review 32:Proximity to shopping, food and drinks. Quite location just off the beaten path.
Review 33:Location is Far from the waterfront action. Hotel is a little old and tired. Small room and noisy because rooms were not well insulated. People were very nice.
Review 34:Breakfast was pretty good
Review 35:There is a laundry room on the top floor, which states that it should only be used until 9pm. When we went to bed around 11, someone was still using the tumble dryer, and something metal inside was rattling and could be heard all along the corridor, so we turned it off. All night someone kept turning it back on, which led to a very disturbed night as we had to keep getting up to turn it off. The room should be locked outside the permitted times as clearly people are too inconsiderate to keep to the rules.
Review 36:Parking is good. Not far from the main area of Dingle.
Review 37:could do with a lick of paint and we have stayed here a few times and room 11 twice and the shower was not working correctly on both occasions. -new show needed
Review 38:We were in an attic room, two flights up, with no elevator. Double bed, raggy towels, no washcloths or shampoo. NO front desk after 5pm, and we weren't provided with any emergency contact information.
Review 39:Patricia was a lovely woman. She and her husband were super busy, but they did help us with some excursion arrangements, which we appreciated.
Review 40:The staff were lovely and welcoming. There is a common room/social room on the first floor which we appreciated as an additional space to relax. However it could definitely do with a bit of updating. The décor and books on display are very dated. Overall though, we were delighted with our stay and would definitely return if in the area.
Review 41:Good location and nice staff. The free parking and wifi was great just you have to log into different ones around the building. Having access to do Laundry half way through our trip was amazing and they included the detergent! Lovely stay!
Review 42:Most expensive place we stayed at. Breakfast not included because we used booking.com. Clean but run down. Not enough parking. Horrible! Almost made the ride down to Dingle a mistake. Luckily the town and the scenery made up for it.
Review 43:Checking out
Review 44:Very friendly staff + flexible - they accepted left luggage Great bedroom: comfy bed, quiet room, good shower, very clean Central enough Wifi + TV work well
Review 45:Nothing worth noting
Review 46:the location was great, not on the main strip of activity so it was really quiet and relaxing. The rooms weren't anything luxiouriois but they were comfortable and had everything you needed. We enjoyed the town so much that we hardly spent any time in the room at all. Delicious breakfast
Review 47:Breakfast is not included but was 10 euro charge, it was a little average to be honest.
Review 48:Excellent location in the centre of town, short walk to the marina. Single room very fresh looking with a comfy bed, shower was very good. The bar is nice but appeals to the card playing punters, live music is readily available in several venues nearby. There's a sizeable car park at the rear and my motorcycle looked very safe there.
Review 49:Man greeting us was not friendly, gave no information and let 3 women with 2 flights of stairs and their luggage. Breakfast was an additional 10 euro but written in small print on one sign and not on menu. Breakfast was not worth the money.
Review 50:Large triple room and large breakfast. Breakfast staff were very nice.
Review 51:After breakfast there was a sign stating that bookings made through booking.com do not include breakfast and I was charged an extra 10euro for a slice of toast and scrambled egg!
Review 52:Excellent location
Review 53:Great location and restaurants / shops were all within walking distance. Most of all, Paddy was awesome. She was absolutely lovely and friendly. She took care of her guest and goes out of her way to help,
Review 54:The Room and Bathroom looked newly refurbished and v clean. Even though Corridors were narrow It was a very quiet house Also great idea to have a Laundry Room
Review 55:This was okay. Parking entrance was narrow, but sufficient parking. As breakfast was not included through Booking.com, we did not eat breakfast there.
Review 56:if you book on booking.com, the breakfast is not included, and is quite expensive. They didn't show us the sitting room until the last day and wifi didn't work at all in our room
Review 57:we had the family bedroom, which is huge.
Review 58:Sheets in one of the rooms were dirty. Lack of hot water in the morning.Strange key system requires you to lock yourself into your room with akey--would never fly in the U.S. with fire regulations.
Review 59:Great location, and nice folks at this hotel. The rooms are clean andreasonably sized. Perfect location to explore the town of Dingle and theDingle peninsula. Dingle and the Dingle peninsula was a highlight of our2 weeks in Ireland.
Review 60:Nothing! All Good.
Review 61:Clean modern well looked after accommodation. Excellent WiFi throughout the building {Hotels take Note} I would have stayed longer but alas no room available. Fully booked and deservedly so. A special thank you to Paddie for arranging the boat trip to Great Blasket . Wonderful experience ! Another box ticked and the mist did lift. I definitely stay here again.
Review 62:A small negative -- the breakfast was good but the price, which was quite reasonable, was not included in our stay.
Review 63:Private parking. Close to everything. The owner was great -- she made a large 29 bed guest house seem like a home.
Review 64:The pub below did not serve dinner but plenty of choices down the street.
Review 65:Perfect location, top of the main street. For the same price range as all the other old b&bs cramped above pubs, this is by FAR a better choice. Extremely comfortable mattress, good size room and clean fluffy carpets. I had arrived in Dingle without a hotel and had time to walk on foot to view several choices externally. Definately the best value for money.
Review 66:I was disappointed that the shower had no pressure and no hot water. When I told the staff this they said that they did know this because no one told them. I believe that THEY should be checking this anytime a room is cleaned!
Review 67:It was generally quite quiet considering there is a pub on the ground floor.
Review 68:no elevator to bring bags up
Review 69:Patricia was very helpful and energetic. The staff in the dining room was wonderful. The Breakfast selection was very good, and the server very friendly.
Review 70:Nice inn situated in a great location. Super friendly and helpful to guests. Accommodation includes good sized rooms with great showers. All is extremely clean - showing care. Breakfast is well worth the extra cost which is up to you to take or or.
Review 71:Not impressed with breakfast: diluted orange juice; percolator coffee only; scones not restocked when finished; tinned fruit past its best.
Review 72:Lovely spacious room and en suite bathroom; great location; pleasant staff.
Review 73:Had to pay extra for breakfast also no tea/ coffee in rooms had to go out on to a landing where every one shared
Review 74:Parking was available if required and cars were safe
Review 75:The only problem was the shower faucet was old and needed replacement, as the handle kept detaching.
Review 76:The staff were very friendly, even offered us free to-go coffee on our way out. The room was very clean and unlike many rooms we've stayed in in Ireland, it smelt crisp and fresh!
Review 77:Staff was friendly when checking in but other than that, you really have to seek them out if you have a question, which personally I find frustrating. Also, I didn't want to pay an extra €10 for breakfast, as the single price was already €45. So it would've been fairly expensive, but that's Dingle and not just this establishment.
Review 78:The bed was extremely comfortable, the room and bathroom were very clean, and the location was very close to town.
Review 79:Full Irish breakfast not that great for 10€. Could be better. But
Review 80:very well organized, very clean, friendly staff, inthe city center but silent at night. Perfect
Review 81:Overpriced considering breakfast was extra. Expected tea making facilities in room, but these were out in hallway. Shower was poor.
Review 82:Location very good. Very friendly.
Review 83:Nothing ...
Review 84:Tom the owner is a very pleasant man. The bar is great craic and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Might not be ideal for a romantic weekend away .... but ideal for a party night !
Review 85:Barr na Sraide is the perfect place to stay in Dingle. The location is excellent. The staff are extremely friendly. The beds are comfy and the bar is great. The breakfast wasn't included in the overall cost, but it was delicious (Full Irish), and made with very fresh ingredients. I had lost my glasses on the morning of check-out and had to run to catch my bus. Within the hour they had found them, rang me, and offered to meet me to return them. Unfortunately I was already well into the journey back home and couldn't turn the bus around. They offered to ship them to me then. My glasses arrived 2 days later (well packaged). I was very happy with their quick response to my situation. Will visit again soon!
Review 86:Small thing. Ordered a full Irish breakfast. Got sausage, bacon, egg, and tomato. No black or white pudding. So not a full Irish.
Review 87:Great location, friendly staff, comfortable beds.
Review 88:I am sorry I have to tell this but I think It was my last time in this b&b.The price for the room is quite cheap but I think they dont use heaters during the night in winter time!! So the room was terribly cold...actually I think outside was warmer than inside!! Now thanks to this lovely b&b I am sick.I have to stay in bed with high temprature and horrible sore throat...so...just be careful guys...especially during winter time...
Review 89:very good location
Review 90:The door and its lock seemed very insecure; there was no sound insulation - I could hear everything that was going on in the hallway, and vice versa; the wifi password wasn't posted anywhere (and there was nobody to ask); the shower was difficult to operate; everybody going to and from the car park passed just outside our window, forcing us to keep the curtains closed throughout
Review 91:The room and bathroom were clean; very central position
Review 92:I had a great stay, all areas were immaculately clean and the staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.
Review 93:The lighting in the hallways could have been better. There were no instructions regarding total cost and/or use of the laundry facilities. Had the babysit the washing machine and as it would not drain and spin.
Review 94:Location and relaxing pub was just what we were looking for. The floor had a communal refrigerator which came in handy to store leftovers and cheese purchases.
Review 95:The walls are a bit thin, so that you can hear what happens in the room next to yours.
Review 96:Really nice location on top of the street ("Barr Na Sraide"). At a walking distance of Pubs and restaurant. Good wifi connection and parking space.
Review 97:Parking was tight, but at least it was was on premise.
Review 98:We had a room on the third floor that was quaint with a view of the bay and the mountains behind the guesthouse. Breakfast was good and the facility was clean.
Review 99:rooms are quite old and too cold. almost died freezing in the bathroom. there is a pub downstairs and it can be loud if he want to rest early.
Review 100:location is in the heart of everything
Review 101:Location, parking, room...pretty much everything we needed was there. Tom and the rest of the staff were great. Can't wait to visit again someday!
Review 102:very run down the inside badly do with a lick of paint along the corridors and en-suites could do with a bit of a revamp -
Review 103:location ideal forwalking around dingle
Review 104:We liked that this was a family run B&B. It was simply furnished, the owners were friendly and quite excited about the junior soccer playoffs with Donegal as a family member was on the team. We felt our stay was genuine Ireland. Breakfast was very nice.
Review 105:Parking - number of spaces is limited.
Review 106:Great staff Clean room Ensuite Wi-fi Parking Location - close to the action but not the noise of the action Breakfast - yum Break-out tea/coffee areas
Review 107:This isn't really a negative, just letting people know that this place is closer to a hotel rather than what you'd typically imagine in a BnB being run out of someone's home. Depends on what you are looking for.
Review 108:Location is just excellent, walking distance to everything you'd want to do in Dingle. Parking can be difficult during some parts of the day, but it wasn't bad.
Review 109:I would have liked for the room to have a kitchen where the guest had the option of making tea or coffee but otherwise my stay there was a great experience.
Review 110:The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Review 111:The chair and stool in the room were uncomfortable, and there was not lobby or lounge except for the bar. There was no place to sit and read.
Review 112:Excellent breakfasts with a variety of offerings including the traditional Irish with egg, sausage, ham, and potatoes. Free off-street parking. The servers were very friendly and helpful.
Review 113:Booking.com does not include free breakfast. Didn't realize that. But breakfast added on is only €9.
Review 114:We stayed at this B&B in Dingle. It was in a great location just up from many great pubs, restaurants, and sights. You walk down the hill for five minutes and you're in the thick of Dingle harbor. Staff was friendly, facilities were clean, WiFi was fast, and it was a bargain of €70 a night total for 2 people.
Review 115:No negatives.
Review 116:Great location for visiting Dingle. Bed comfortable. Good parking. Room not overly spacious but more than adequate. Did not opt for breakfast so no comment there.
Review 117:We were traveling mid-August with two children (ages 10 and 13) and stayed in a family room on the top floor. It was impeccably clean and so spacious, with plenty of room for us and our luggage. We loved that there was a little table for making tea on our floor, as well as laundry facilities. The landlady was lovely and very accommodating. We will stay there again, should we have the pleasure of returning to Dingle.
Review 118:Fantastic location in the town centre, walking distance to everywhere. The rooms are very comfortable and has a carpark at the back. Shared tea & coffee making facilities on each floor which suited me fine. Also they have a laundry room which is great. I would stay here again.
Review 119:I did not know what to expect. But was pleasantly surprised and felt that I got more than my money's worth. Great room! Had everything I needed. Staff was wonderful! Carried overstuff duffle bag up to room and then drove me when my stay was over with it down to bus stop. Could not have been more pleased with my stay at Barr Na Straide Inn! Thank you! :)
Review 120:Our room was above the pub and noisy. We had to keep the windows open and it was still hot. Did not sleep until 4am because when the pubs closed the partiers seem to gather in the street right under our window. Tiny room with full size bed. I would recommend because of the location but request a room in the back. Ours was a last minute reservation and this was all we could find available.
Review 121:Liked the fact that is was in walking distance to the pubs, shops, restaurants and water.
Review 122:didn't realise that breakfast was not included in price when booking, found out on checking in several marks on the walls going up to bedrooms, assume from bags carpets dirty very old fasfioned decor paint on door into bedroom some towels had ragged edges towel with make up stains very poor water pressure in shower and only lukewarm window ledges filthy in bedroom and bathroom when opened very low ceiling in parts of bedroom
Review 123:Location only
Review 124:Noisy guests outside window smoking while disabled guest slept. Slamming doors until 1am. (No fault of the owners, they cant control that)
Review 125:Clean big rooms Easy access for disabled guest Really friendly owners & staff Breakfast top quality value for money Plenty free parking
Review 126:Parking was a squeeze and the main car park was full. Walked into a hot room (in August!). Had to turn down radiator and open window!!
Review 127:Clean, comfy beds, good shower. Lots of choice for breakfast. Staff were helpful if a little distracted at times.
