Reviews for Vitrage Guest House
Review 1:The room is completely thermally insulated and warm despite the air conditioning system, which has been operating all night, maximum temperature in the bathroom 14 degrees Celsius, the cracks in the glass window in the bathroom. In the summer it should be very hot. The room was not clean. Problem with parking, local boys asked to pay for parking in public areas.
Review 2:The friendly owner.
Review 3:nothing.
Review 4:comfortable rooms.very warm owners. location is excellent 5 mins away by walking to different bus stops. Excellent and tasty dinner made by Lady owner for 50 NIS each meal. we had it for all the 3 nights and you can request for a change in menu.I will recommend this guesthouse to anyone coming get to nazareth.
Review 5:old and dirty room, non functioning a/c, problems with electricity, problems with hot water
Review 6:well, I liked the most the people, they are warm and ready to help, it is close to downtown
Review 7:Pedestrian area of old city and not quite sure where to park the car.
Review 8:Very friendly and helpful staff, we could not find the parking and the receptionist came to find us in the pouring rain nearby.
Review 9:The breakfast could have a little bit more of variety and be a little more "international",
Review 10:Location is excellent, if you aren't with a car; The price is terrific; Staff super friendly. They have coffee and tea available all day.
Review 11:misaligned expectations. misunderstanding that we would have a room with a bathroom, that was not what they originally gave us. Bird in Room. very small room. door lock didn't work. we were had to wait until it was fixed cause all our stuff was already in the room. hot water didn't work until we asked.
Review 12:The owner was very nice
Review 13:Perfect location - right in the old town. There is a possibility to park a car. Excellent combination. In addition, user-friendly price. They offered a better room for the initially reserved for the same price. Wi-fi worked well, breakfast was also good and with a wide selection of dishes. Nice and friendly staff.
Review 14:one of the room we got was without any window; cleanliness is well bellow europaen standards; rooms are very small; location - it is not far from the old city but it is already a bit aside, there are empty and decaying houses in the surrounding
Review 15:possibility to use a little yard
Review 16:Hotel stuff is a lovely family. I felt like I was visiting my dear relatives who have been waiting for me for a long time. Very interesting hotel, I recommend to stay there.
Review 17:The parking is a small problem if you drive to the place.
Review 18:I like the family who are very kind to the guests. I had a nice view room and enjoyed the landscape mix with church and mosque.
Review 19:bathroom, issue with shower and regular floods in entire room; not fixed during 2 days stay
Review 20:great location, just few steps from center extremely friendly owners
Review 21:The Nasser family who own and run the guest house are incredible people. They made us feel welcome and treated us as part of the family. They also made sure we knew all the sights to visit.
Review 22:The location is very convenient, close to all the churches. The garden is also very beautiful, with a fountain and there is a wonderful view from the roof.
Review 23:Parking is ~300 meters away, and requires an uphill walk. However is discounted if you mention the Vitrage guest house.
Review 24:Great people, upgraded to a nicer room (otherwise empty) free of charge, good breakfast, close to downtown and the old city. Nice patio to sit at to enjoy breakfast, or lounging. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Room had a great view.
Review 25:The bad side of being in the Old City is that the steep narrow roads run out near the top and become just steps before you get to Vitrage. Taxis can't take you right to Vitrage - it's walking only. So if you're solo with heavy bags it's very difficult.
Review 26:Vitrage is prettier than the rest in its price-range with better facilities. Lovely outdoor seating with fountain. Also lounge areas outside each room. Rooms are clean with great air conditioning! It's in the Old City on the Trail of Jesus which is both blessing and curse. The breakfast is good - substantial with good variety. They provide tours of Galilee, Jericho etc but you have to be careful on Fridays & Saturdays as sites close for Sabbath which can be unclear due to language barriers, though staff are helpful.
Review 27:WiFi could work better
Review 28:The hosts are super-helpful, they even helped us to re-park our car closer to the hostel, because the navigator led us to a wrong place. The breakfast there is the best ever! Their garden is sooooo cute, I totally loved it. You can spend several days there and still every day notice some hidden details you have'nt seen yet. Also the night view from the roof is amazing! Also super-close to the old city, and to everything.
Review 29:Parking place is a bit far (not very). If you want to stay in the centre of old town - there is no much other optiopns.
Review 30:Very helful staff, friendly atmosfere.
Review 31:to me it sounded like they actually have a reserved parking somewhere outside, but upon arrival they show you places to park on the street. this can be difficult.
Review 32:the breakfast and courtyard were amazing.
Review 33:It's a lovely place - especially garden with it's well fountain and greenery. Really a place where you can catch your breath after a very hot and active day. Once again - thank you for a wonderful time we had in your house, all your help (with parking and sightseeing) and a delicious snacks and breakfast! :)
Review 34:Nothing really
Review 35:This is a hotel run by an Arabic christian family who really want to service you. The guest house is located in the center of the old town, which means that you need to walk the last 200 meters. The old town can be a challange to park your car, but just find the white mosque and phone the guest house, and they will come and help you out with everything. From the white mosque you can also walk up the hill and you will soon find signs on walls which guide you too the various guest house where the Vitrage is one of them. The guest house has a nice inner yard, where you can site and read a book or just relax. My room had tv, aircondition and a nice small and clean bathroom. The main attraction, like Maries weel, the Synago Church, maries house us all within a 5 minutts walk. The family also offers trips around Nazareth and youn can go to Tiberias lake, Capernaun, Tabor mountain or Jenin on the Westbank.
Review 36:It was like a little family-oasis! Friendly and helpful, good communication! Well equipped, (rooms,bed,etc),- super breakfast. Thank you for the time in that holyplace nazerath!
Review 37:I loved that this guesthouse felt totally like staying with a family. The whole family was so caring, so committed to getting to know you, they picked up us up, had us for dinners, meriendas, we played music with them...and they have a breathtaking view of Nazareth on the roof.....Im so glad we stayed here....I would recommend it to anyone going through Nazareth. It is also set in a beautiful and local neighbourhood that makes you dream about Bible lands and Jesus running the streets of the same neighbourhood as a boy growing up. The house is supercharming too with several levels, a pretty patio, wood terraces...it is the real deal, and it will make you love Israel even more...
Review 38:We had to wait a long time at reception before we were shown our room. The staff were quite cold/absent and we weren't shown where breakfast was eaten or given any other information. It felt as though they didn't really care. Would not stay here again but it is a cheap place to stay if you are on a budget.
Review 39:Good location but a little hard to find. Nice views from the roof.
Review 40:The only two negatives were very weak wifi - only worked at reception, not in garden or rooms and the double bed was very uncomfortable on one side - lumpy springs- though here was a single bed in the room so slept in that.
Review 41:Characterful place with garden that makes it feel like a bit of an oasis in the centre of Nazareth. Warm and friendly owners
Review 42:We are a family of six and were very well looked after. A trip to Galilee was arranged at short notice for us and we were given a home cooked evening meal on our second night at guests of the couple.
Review 43:The staff/ owners were extremely helpful with everything, and the breakfast was fantastic, rooms were clean and spacious. Almost everything in Nazareth could be seen within walking distance from the hotel. They even helped to arrange a private tour to the galilee area (at a fair price).
Review 44:WiFi signal didn't work all the time.
Review 45:Wondeful view over Nazareth from the bedroom. A nice and quiet garden to sit back and relax. The place is run by a friendly family and we had a delicious home cooked meal.
Review 46:Don't follow the gps it leads you wrong if you go there by car. Leave your car in the middle of the town and walk through the old city it's not far and you can follow the signs
Review 47:very nice atmosphere
Review 48:Wifi was not ideal. And one morning when I wanted to go to church quite early, I was unable to leave because the gate was closed.
Review 49:Great location in Nazareth Centre. Pleasant owners. Pretty patio. Clean room. Good breakfast. Very good experience.
Review 50:Nothing
Review 51:The owners are very friendly and welcoming especially the son Ehab. The hotel is cosy and has a great atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good too. The hotel is easy to find from Rosemary restaurant / Mary's Well in the Old City as there are clear signs on the walls right up to the Vitrage. Nice, friendly hotel which I'd definitely recommend.
Review 52:I stayed at the place for 2 days no parking as promised location very difficult to find owner and son ..very aggressive people wifi not working electricity was shut down on purpose by owner
Review 53:Nothing really to like in the place..
Review 54:Breakfast was limited and it seemed like we were being monitored andthat we could not take as much food as we wanted. When they converted dollars to NIS, they charged us more than we expected. For the price we paid, it was very disappointing.
Review 55:The guesthouse was safe and they had an outside seating area that wasreally cool.
Review 56:Wifi was not functioning in the room (only in the garden and common area). the room is VERY small, can't walk in the room if the suitcase is open. Parking space is far from the property, need to walk ~5 min inc stairs with the luggage. The surrounding area of the property is very dirty.
Review 57:Staff was very helpful and friendly. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, great value for the money.
Review 58:wifi was intermittent.
Review 59:Great friendly family run business. Excellent front gardens to chill in. Good view. Great location for exploring old city on foot.
Review 60:Be sure to have a plan if arriving by car. There is an easy parking lot a short walk away. Don't plan on driving right up to the door, and don't leave it to gps navigation. It's in the old city, and our iPhones sent us on an impossible route!
Review 61:Good value, nice hosts.
Review 62:Wi-fi was slightly slow and intermittent at times
Review 63:Owners and staff were welcoming and hospitable during my stay, upper level rooms had good view over Nazareth and the gardens in the hostel were very green, relaxed and with a water feature added which was quite soothing. The hostel was only 5 minutes walk to bars and restaurants in the centre as well as all the main sites in Nazareth. I had difficulty finding the location on arrival but when phoning, one of the owners of the hostel came to find me and take me there. The room was very clean with comfortable bed, air conditioning and more like a hotel room with private bathroom/shower and tea/coffee making facilities in the hallway.
Review 64:The bathroom was cramped with no shower curtain, the A/C stopped working, and there were occasional small ants. Parking was a hassle to figure out. Cash only.
Review 65:Staff was a friendly family who were helpful and offered arabic coffee in the morning and provided an upgraded room. Location was excellent, 10 min. walk of the old city center. Value was good, given the prices during high season.
Review 66:We could not have asked for a more hospitable staff and convenient location than this guest house! We booked the room with only one day’s notice (a two person room with a shared bathroom). When we got to Nazareth, we called for directions to the guest house, and instead, two of the staff members cam to pick us up where we were. Upon our arrival, we immediately felt very welcome, receiving countless tips and recommendations from everyone. The next morning, we woke up late for breakfast. However, when we got downstairs, we found breakfast was still out waiting for us. They even packed us breakfast to go the morning we left! Vitrage is in a very good location, walking distance from all the historical sights and restaurants. The rooms and facilities were very nice and we really felt at home there. We would highly recommend Vitrage to any of our friends and would stay there again our next time in Nazareth!
Review 67:If you want to stay at warm-hearted people's place, Vitrage family hotel is the best place. Every little thing is done with care: friendly attitude towards the guests, every question is answered, all information about the city: the map with points of interest, timetable of buses to anywhere, advices about restaurants.. homy brekfast, comfortable and warm room with everything we need and the best location in the city - old city of Nazareth. I and my friend are happy about finding Vitrage Guest House!
Review 68:WIFI was unstable for the first day but become better later.
Review 69:Perfect location to explore the old city, 5-10 mins walk to every spots and everything. The rooms are wooden and yard is cozy, Ehab, Bishara and the wife are hospitable and helpful and treat us as family. Before they run this gueshouse, Vitrage used to be the family business you have to see those beautiful glasses.
Review 70:The set up of the hostel is cinematic ! The courtyard is colourfully lightened in the night and just a fountain breaking the silence ! The owner Bashar will treat you like a family member . Have a cup of coffee with him sometimes when he sits with his wife and son , a true local experiance .
Review 71:Nice place to stay as everything interesting to see in Nazareth is just minutes walking away. As the property is in the old part of the town there is no direct car access. Very kind staff, nice small garden where you can have a drink in the evening.
Review 72:The breakfast is gorgeous! So is the dinner! We had two dinner in the hotel and they are amazing!!! Don't miss that. The room is clean and tidy and everything is quite good. The boss is nice person in deed.
Review 73:Food mediocre minus, despite the promising title Arab food. Beware that some rooms come with shared toilets and showers, but this is not mentioned specifically.
Review 74:Nice central location near. Welcoming hosts. Fun inner yard where can sit and relax.
Review 75:Only remark: mattress was a little old.
Review 76:Excellent location in the centre of the old city of Nazareth. Warm welcome. Quiet. Clean. Good breakfast with some salads, cheese, sweet pastries, fresh fruit.
Review 77:Bathroom is not very comfortable.
Review 78:Good location at the main Nazareth sights. Very pleasant owner who can always help you with different issues. We had early leave to Amman and we've got breakfast packed "to go". Also he provided for us transfer to bus stop by car free of charge:)
Review 79:Dinner might be a little expensive for students in a budget, but we went out .
Review 80:I liked my room on the top of the house- it was so cozy and perfect wirh a very nice upgrade. We actually had 4 beds for two people .
Review 81:The location was ideal (in a very peaceful neighbourhood), the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Our hosts were wonderfully hospitable, going out of their way to make sure that our stay was as pleasant as possible. When we were having a bit of trouble with directions we called them and they came at once to personally escort us to the guest house. They kindly invited us to tea upon our arrival and they insisted on rising very early to cook us breakfast on the morning of our departure. We would definitely recommend Vitrage Guest House to anyone.
Review 82:on the day we were there the shower did not work well, but later is was fixed
Review 83:the owner and his family do a great job in making us feel at home, providing good info on Nazareth and preparing delicious foods
Review 84:We book for 3 nights and the boss change us for one night in the another guest house because he have not enough place for one night... In the bath room, its not possible to close the window... Not possible ton have wifi in our room. It's not serious.
Review 85:The situation is good.
Review 86:Everything was all right!
Review 87:The hospitality of our hosts, they were really helpful and kind; eager to know how they could make their services better. The locaton is perfect to start your walking trips in the town. The breakfast were great and delicious, we loved having it in the yard.
Review 88:The renovation of the walls in shower room with washbasin and toilet was not completed. The father told me he hadn't known that and thanked me for showing that to him. Only one small refrigerator for all the guests on that floor. The standard of the room was below average, but it was adequate for a short stay. On ground floor behind the garden was a room meant in days gone for cooking but obviously hadn't been cleaned for ages. Left knee couldn't take the walkways: sturdy, supportive walking shoes a definite must.
Review 89:This guest house is a family business and the family members are motivated to be helpful and to make the guests' stay in Nazareth a good experience. Nazareth is full of very old buildings off narrow streets and ideal for hiking explorations though the walking up and down on uneven stony walkways is hard on the legs and feet. Open garden-like area with fountain on the ground floor.
Review 90:Everything was good.
Review 91:I enjoy the customer service and the food. The room was very nice and ideal for my friend and I. It was located in a great location with many of the important sites within walking distance.
Review 92:If you read some previous reviews this is not the first time the hotel ran out of hot water. We were not able to take a shower since the temp. was around 8oC, and tried to talk about this issue with the owner but he managed it terrible. If you get on their bad side, they will try to make you look bad so they can save their precious reviews. Wi-Fi connection will cut every second and You will hear every single noise.
Review 93:I loved everything about this guesthouse. My cozy room, the beautiful garden and the outstanding warmth of the family. The Arab breakfast was superb and dinner was excellent. The location was perfect.
Review 94:The location in Nazareth's old city is convenient to the market and to restaurants in the new city. Facilities are cozy and comfortable and a good value. The owners are warm and inviting and very helpful.
Review 95:Our car broke down. The son of the owner of the guest house managed everything for us, he called the rental company several time, even when they put him on hold, he didn't give up. Got us a new car, brought us with his car to ours back again. Made sure that everything was ok for us. We couldn't thank him enough. Because of our bad luck he upgraded our room for free. Guest house itself is perfect located in walking distance (5-10 mins) between the sight seeings. Parking spot is a little tricky, but the staff we try to contact you and helped you to find a free spot. Very lovely courtyard/garden, breakfast was good. Would definitely book at this place again.
Review 96:The add says that breakfast is complimentary, but we were charged and extra 119 shekels. Not sure why, a bit of a bummer.
Review 97:The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They invited us for dinner, and really made the experience of the guest house what it should be
Review 98:Everyone was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They gave great recommendations about where to eat and what to see in the city. Great location in the centre of the old city. The place was homey and charming.
Review 99:Unfortunately, I caught a bad weather.
Review 100:The owners are very good and pleasant people, very helping and doing more than they have to. The place is not far from most of local interesting places.
Review 101:Some of the beds were pretty uncomfortable, and the blankets too small. Sometimes, there was no hot water. Also, the wifi was poor, we had a lot of connectivity issues.
Review 102:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The manager explained to us what we could see in Nazareth, and organized a paid tour to the sea of Galilee for us. The breakfast was amazing, very cultural and local. And of course, the laid back atmosphere made for a very relaxing stay.
Review 103:Breakfast is just oriental (few sweeties) and wi-fi signal in the room not much powerful.
Review 104:In the centre of the town, a short walking from everything, quiet and clean.
Review 105:I can't find a single thing.
Review 106:This place was amazing. The family that lives there are welcoming and goes out of their way to help you. The rooms are great and the area is nice. I will definitely come back.
Review 107:I am quite satisfied with my stay at Vitrage Guest House. The location of the hotel is very convenient, in the centre of the old city, just a few minutes walk from the main attractions. Besides the hotel provides a good breakfast. And what is more, very friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.
Review 108:The food, the free breakfast was too low for my taste. The meal consisted of a few salads, hummus, pita bread, cookies and hot drinks.
Review 109:In the hotel there is a range of rooms to suit every desire.I slept in one room, with shower and toilet. I paid 450 shekels for three nights with free breakfast included. The room was small, clean and nice, but its worth the price. The hotel is located in the center of things, the old city of Nazareth, about 6 minutes From the Church of the Annunciationthe, and 3 minutes from the markets. 10 minutes from restaurants and good food stores. Nice place, nothing more.
Review 110:it is problem to find a place for parking when you are travelling by car, but it is the same problem in each old part of the city
Review 111:good position in the centre, just few minutes walking everywhere, very friendly staff, clean a nice room
Review 112:wifi didn't work well in the room - but we could get it in the common sitting area
Review 113:great location in the old city, heating for the winter, hot water, staff were very helpful in providing information on sights and buses, just off the Jesus Trail, just about 10 minutes from major bus stop, free wifi, better breakfast than we found at most budget accomodations
Review 114:Although I booked the economy room (with shared bathroom), the owner of the hotel offered me a private room (with its own bathroom) without changing the price. It was snowing and cold on the night I spend in Nazareth (something very unusual there) but air conditioning made the room warm and worked silently. Breakfast was really big - I was not able to eat everything that was offered to me. The owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful. Next time when I am in Nazareth, I will surely go to Vitrage Guest House.
Review 115:Economy rooms could use some sprucing up. Owner is planning to do some repairs - could be very nice then.
Review 116:Great hosts and wonderful breakfast included. Very pleasant outdoor spaces. Nice location in old part of town in walking distance from all attractions.
Review 117:Some smell of humidity in the room - but it improved when switching on the heating which worked fine.
Review 118:Nice and quiet location, ideal to visit the center of Nazareth. The owner is friendly and helped us indicating a parking spot close-by. Good breakfast and nice garden.
Review 119:The owners were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was amazing in both its quality and variety. The garden area was beautiful. The room was very cozy with a very clean bathroom.
Review 120:Can be a bit tricky to find as no cars are allowed in the old city but if you ring prior to your arrival owners can meet you to show the way.
Review 121:Location within the old city. Owner did everything to make me welcome even included me as their guest for lunch. Felt safe which is important for solo traveller. Overall excellent experience
Review 122:Please note that you get get what you pay for. The rooms are somewhat okay, but for the price you pay they are not comparable to an average international standard, so be prepared for it (probably is the price level in Nazareth higher than average). I estimate the value of the rooms are around 1/3 of what you pay for, compared to average. Internet was sadly slow, and a thunderstorm at our arrival day didn't speed it up, just s it it didn't do with the missing hot water. ;-)
Review 123:The fantastic family running the Vitrage Guesthouse is very friendly and taking really care of their customers. A lot of heart in to their business. The garden is very nice and comfort, and believe when it's warmer wonderful and tranquil place to relax after a day of trussing in Galilee.
Review 124:nothing
Review 125:The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. Wi-Fi in rooms. They have a wonderful garden with orange trees and self-made fountain and decorations, for example statues. The included breakfast and (if you order) the dinner are delicious and reach. All holy sites are in walking distance. We were there at second time, and if we come to Nazareth, we will take certainly this accommodation again. It is recommended for everyone.
Review 126:All was ok.
Review 127:The place near Basilica of the Annuncition and the centrum of city is very good. The Vitrage Guest House and the garden are very very beatifull, downright magnificent. Orangetrees, fountain, little statues... And very friendly staff. Greetings for they from Finland. I remember Nasareth and Vitrage Guest House!!!
