Reviews for Simsim Guest House

Review 1:Not much bad to say.

Review 2:Good location directly in the old city of Nazareth. Great historical feeling of the place, it is really very old building, but nicely refurbished with comfortable rooms. Owners were very personal.

Review 3:It was freezing cold, there were gaps in all the doors and windows to outside and it was colder inside than out a lot of the time. They had a heater for the guest house but not the hostel, which was very mean! I have never been colder in a hostel.

Review 4:The location was great and the staff were very knowledgeable. It was very cosy and we met some lovely people!

Review 5:Me and my boyfriend spend one night at Simsim and we loved it. We liked the helpful staff that gave good recommendations, the nice breakfast served at a lovely terrace and location. We would warmly recommend it!

Review 6:This guesthouse is a tremendous value. It's right in the old city of Nazareth within walking distance to major tourist attractions. The breakfast was generous and delicious and the outdoor patio area was such a great place to relax. The owners, Sami and Silkie are perfect hosts. We highly recommend this hotel.

Review 7:Sami might appear a bit too intrusive with his initial questions, but he wants to help, so don't be surprised (although check-in takes a bit too long). I don't know about the accesibility of the terrace in the main building after 8pm, because backpackers who sleep in dorms are housed in a different building.

Review 8:Really good location in the souk. Main building is very cozy with a nice terrace. Good guides and literature on spot. In addition, kitchen and bathrooms were clean.

Review 9:- No A/C, it got pretty hot in our room and stayed so in the night (August). Fan was provided but didn't help so much - Bed was pretty hard, especially bad with our double bed, every movement awakened each other

Review 10:+ Super friendly and helpful staff, Sami is a great host! + Roof-top terrace is a great spot for breakfast as well as a nice common space + Nice breakfast + Other travellers there are very open, great chats on the terrace

Review 11:The streets of the city is not easy to walk, so the hostel is not that easy to find.

Review 12:I actually didn't stay there, but the place looks good, and the staff were helpful to find other location in another city.

Review 13:Nothing.

Review 14:I've been travelling for 6 months around the world and Sim Sim has been the best accomadation so far. The dorm area has been designed by people who clearly understand what a backpacker wants and needs. Full kitchen, comfy beds (with outlets and reading lights at each one), comfy common area, and really friendly/helpful staff. I felt like I was at home there and stayed in Nazareth for way longer than anticipated simply because this place was awesome.

Review 15:We loved every minute of our stay there...Should be rated #1 accommodation for Nazareth...

Review 16:Sami (the owner) and Silke are warm, caring, knowlegeable people who made us feel like we were the most important guests in his house...We felt that way from moment one and as we got to spend more time with them, we could see that they genuinely wanted us to feel that this was our home too...Lovely accommodations and beautiful rooftop kitchen/lounge...all the comforts of home....we lacked for nothing. We look forward to returning to Nazareth and spending another visit with Sami and his girlfriend...

Review 17:The attention of the staff is great. The hostel is an amazing center of information not just about the Galilee, but also about hostels or other cheap and also interesting places all around Israel and even the West Bank. A great place and I'd like to thank Sami and Silke for their collaboration in the couple of days I spent at Simsim.

Review 18:Might be hard to find, but they have signs showing the way. From outside place does not look great, but inside is really well maintained and kept clean.

Review 19:Staff was really friendly and knew what is worth visiting in the area

Review 20:Upon a very late arrival, the host greeted us with a warm cup of tea which was followed by an short but enthusiastic review of the morning's possibilities. We are then led to a nice, high ceiling room, in which the heat of already on. Hospitality at its best.

Review 21:we were 3 friends and took 3 beds in the dormitory room. the beds were standart and the sheets were clean from loandry. there are 2 buildings- one with private rooms which is adorable place and one for the mixed dormitories which is ok but not a lot more. beakfast was ok

Review 22:The improvements that they are doing makes the entrance seem more to a building still under construction, which really decreases the expectations of the place you are going to sleep later (when i arrived i wasnt sure that this was the hostel i had made the reservation). I would suggest to install a nice courtain or build a temporary room (a light wall) to place all the construction material and tools.

Review 23:Very kind, all the people involved in the hosting, from the reception to the volunteer in the rooms zone. also doing several improvements to the building, which is good.

Review 24:Access is necessarily difficult given the premises are right in the old city. Traffic is chaotic when going to and from the old city.

Review 25:Friendly service Close to places of interest Historic setting Comfortable room Clean bathroom

Review 26:Limited parking on narrow streets, although staff was helpful in showing us where to park

Review 27:Great location in the Old Town Hosts were very friendly and helpful Breakfast was great Room was very clean; shower worked well

Review 28:No airco or fan in the rooms.

Review 29:Clean, fridge and coffee maker in the kitchen and nice sitting area both inside and outside. "Typical hostel staff" - kind but not super fast or prof (i would prefer not to hear about your staff's problems - don't discuss them in front of guests I would say..) Helpful with advice about the city / buses.

Review 30:That we only stayed one day; will definitely make it a longer one next time

Review 31:Sami's welcome and friendliness Sami's knowledge and assistance with sightseeing tips Comfortable environment Easy, laid back charm Cleanliness Excellent shower facilities Quiet and peaceful

Review 32:Super helpful staff and awsome location in the old town.

Review 44:Don't go there if it's under 20° outside. No heating and no or single glass windows.

Review 45:Great neigbourhood, good facilities

Review 46:It was cold outside (breakfast on terrace) and inside (unsufficient heating)

Review 47:Hospitality

Review 58:Silke and Sami were great to chat with and gave helpful advice. breakfast was great

Review 59:It was all good

Review 60:The special attention that was given to me in regards to travel arrangements

Review 61:A little loud in the evening, neighbors yelling and men fighting in the street. Water not hot, shower doors did not lock.

Review 62:Owner very helpful with information on how to get to places and on the Jesus trail. Breakfast excellent, location very good.

Review 63:There was a large group of neighbourhood men gathered just outside our dorm and they were so loud that they kept myself and all the other women in the dorm awake until 3:30am. We couldn't close the windows because it was hot and there was no fan in the room.

Review 64:Good facilities Clean Good location Good price Friendly staff

Review 65:-private room not too cheap considering that bathroom is shared

Review 66:-incredibly clean! -very nice structure -nice breakfast and tea/coffee service -Sami is very helpful and clear in giving precise directions to visit the best of Nazareth

Review 67:The bunkbeds are not very safe... The door of our room didn't close

Review 68:Great staff, very nice and cute, close to everything. Very clean, kitchen for everyone...

Review 69:It would have been nice to have arabic coffee at breakfast.

Review 70:Loved the laid back atmosphere, the cosmopolitan feeling. The owners arehard workers doing everything from washing dishes to refurbishing thevintage furniture. Thats why it all works so well.

Review 71:Kind of have to go uphill to reach it :-) but it's a calves workout...

Review 72:Cleanliness of the guesthouse and the beds, linen and bathrooms. Great breakfast. Great staff (volunteers, workers and owners). Excellent location. Definitely recommended!

Review 73:Breakfast a little disappointing

Review 74:In the heart of the old Nazareth, ideal location Very friendly staff that pointed us out to the brilliant places (visits / spices market / restaurants) around

Review 75:location was good but a little bit difficult to find, a mark somewhere on the street would be better

Review 77:N / A

Review 78:Quite neighborhood, well maintained building, close to the city center and main attractions, impressively clean bedrooms and bathrooms, very safe place to stay. The owners of the place gave us very useful tips on what to visit in the area around Nazareth.

Review 79:There have been some problems with showers, there was no hot water but it seems it was for a damage to the boyler, infact the day after it was working properly

Review 80:Friendly Staff, nice rooms and location,

Review 81:Discreet guest-house in the middle of the old town with magic, quiet and friendly atmosphere. Quality of beds in the dormitory room is equal to luxury appartments. Romantic terrace appeal to lonely travelleres for falling in love.

Review 82:Hard to reach by car: welcome to nazareth!

Review 83:Very nice place, very nice and helpful staff, the place is in excellent conditions while keeping an old ancestral feel.

Review 84:It was pretty cold at night so I had to sleep in my clothes.

Review 85:This was the best hostel that I've ever stayed. Friendly staff gave me a map and made extensive explanation about all points of interest in the city. Cozy kitchen on open air. Amazing location inside the old city.

Review 86:maybe just a little hard to found :)

Review 87:All is great, friendly stuff, powerful wifi, comfotable bed, you can enjoy yourself there~ hope to visit the hotel again~

Review 88:We were really cold in the room at night despite the heater on. It felt like sleeping out. This also crossed out the chance of an evening shower. But I guess it is true for this winter only, hopefully it's warmer in Nazareth by now.

Review 89:The hotel is close to all the sites of Nazareth. The host Sami is really friendly and ready to help. Beautiful terrace where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and tea at any time - serve yourself. Perfect place for warmer months. Restaurants are also within a very short reach.

Review 90:The place of the hostel is slightly hard to find.

Review 91:There is free WI-FI internet access at the lobby. Moreover, owner Sami was extremely nice to me. If there is something you want to do in Nazareth he can help you. We would definitely recommend this hotel as it was great value and we loved it!

Review 92:Friendly (Sammy) owner who went out of his way to make us feel at home. It is walking distance from all sight in Nazareth. I loved the outside section where we sat till late at night.

Review 93:No.

Review 94:It's a really fancy and comfortable place!!!! Sami is also a great stuff , he explained many useful information about Nazareth! I had a really great time in Samira Guest House! Thx a lot!

Review 95:Samira Guest House is an excellent place to stay and a great information source about Nazareth and Galilee. The place is very clean and comfortable. The old building provides an unforgettable atmosphere. The people from Nazareth are the most friendly people we have ever met.

Review 96:I got spots on all my body. It could come either from bedbugs or from allergy. I think it comes from bedbugs because I saw one and an egg in the bed. The owner does not appologize.

Review 97:The volunteer was very helpful and nice !!

Review 98:I like really everything! People (Sami, Silke and Alex) were so friendly. Sami knows everything about the surroundings and he and his friends always gave the best advice and support. You can also have a breakfast and it is very fresh and tasty. Very convenient location in the Old City of Nazareth. It`s close to the main places of interest. In general, I felt here very calm, peacuful and safe. And it was also one of the most beatiful hostels I`ve ever been! It was very nice to stay here.

Review 99:Very charming place, comfortable and super friendly. Owner Sami is knowledgeable and happy to help answer any questions. Terrace is open and inviting, with herbal teas and coffee as you like.

Review 101:This was the one place in Israel where I experienced the fabledhospitality of the East. The guest-house is located in an ancient (but recently refurbished) building in what appears to be the oldest part of the old city. Very centrally located and utterly picturesque. Lovely breezes waft through the entire guest-house morning and evening. An utterly charming and large covered terrace is comfortable (covered from the sun and breezy) and very welcoming.

Review 102:Nothing, our stay was just perfect.

Review 103:Samira's guest house is just so beautiful, with old stones and a big terrasse where you'll be surrounded by old vintage pieces of furniture. The room was beautiful and all facilities were very clean. The place is quiet and the staff will be happy to help you plan your stay in Nazareth. A place we highly recommend.

Review 104:can't find a single negative thing about this hostel. although Nazareth itself is a little too modern to my taste.

Review 105:the cleanest hostel I've stayed, staff and owner went out of their way to help us plan our trip, the location is also fantastic right in the center of the old city, the open patio offers a superb setting to wind down after a long day

Review 106:the staff were very accomadating. sami, the owner helped me to plan a trip to galilee going solo. his knowledge of the local area is superb. the guest house is in great condition, clean, and a good place to relax after a days sightseeing. the breakfast is good with cereal, bread, cakes and tea/coffee. i travel quite a bit and would highly reccomend this place

Review 107:Not being able to stay another night or 2 ;-)

Review 108:Clean, beautiful unique terrace and property, Helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Ideal location for exploring Nazareth

Review 109:Just about the best you can get for your money: perfect location, a wonderful terrace, friendly staff & owner, nice & clean rooms - and really reasonably priced. Would recommend it anytime!

Review 110:A better description where to park would be helpful.

Review 111:Very nice place in the old city in Nazareth, the owners are very nice and helpful. The only bad thing is, that it's hard to leave the nice terrace.

Review 112:Nights can get a little bit noisy because the house is located in the city center. Our room was really very small (well, it was marked as 'economic', others were bigger) and it was not easy to get some fresh air into it. Staff is sometimes in a haste (but they are really nice, you just have to wait).

Review 113:Approach of the staff was very nice, they were helpful at any time. The location is very good not just within the city, but also within the whole country (north is well accessible from here). There is also a sheltered terrace, great place to stay at during the evenings.

Review 114:We had a very small doubleroom. It was noisy, because in front of our room was the reception and the bar.

Review 115:A lot of friendly and helpful people, including the staff.

Review 116:Small facility so all noise (like other guests locking/unlocking their room door) carries. One toilet and two showers for all shared rooms (though we never had to wait to use either). Parking nonexistent.

Review 117:Small guesthouse with very personalized and friendly service. Room and bathroom were very clean. Location right in the middle of the old city!

Review 118:The breakfast is good but would be better with more choices.

Review 119:Our stay at Samira guest house was really nice. The place is lovely and well located. Sami was really helpful

Review 120:The place is brand new and really nice. Owner is very helpful. Beautiful terrace for breakfast or just relaxing. Good free breakfast. Free coffee and tea anytime.

Review 121:No showers in the rooms BUT the shared facilities are very clean so it's not a big problem

Review 122:Sami, who runs the hostel, is a very helpful, very friendly guy. There is a terrace where you can just sit out and have tea/coffee any time of day or night.

Review 123:the noise proofing of the walls.....

Review 124:Very clean , top quality beds , beautifull place and very friendly staff. Great location, parking not a problem , excellent beds , pillows , super towels amazing for the budget :-)

Review 125:Everything was good except the manager had too many discussion with hisstaff, which was quite distrubing. I cannot relax and read books duringbreakfast or at night in the living room.

Review 126:Located inside Nazareth old city and within walking distance from theparking space. Good balcony for breakfast and beer at night. The guesthouse was very clean and the staff was helpful.

Review 127:Shared bathroom, parking lot is very narrow so rent a small car.

Review 128:Well-decorated in an ancient building, felt very welcome, clean rooms. Great location near market, shops, restaurants and bars in Old City. Free Parking available in a small lot about 1 block away.
