Reviews for Murphy's B&B
Review 1:Location was perfect for access to pubs and restaurants. Innkeepers were so kind. I happened to be very sick during our stay and they were so concerned and helpful. The facility had a cute little room facing the harbor to relax and have tea and cookies (provided) which I definitely made use of.
Review 2:The location is great (just make sure you know which Murphy's it is as there a two right next to each other - this one is not attached to the pub). The room was clean and a good size. A bit old fashioned but fine and with a pretty comfortable bed. The owner's were nice and breakfast was good. Overall it's nothing fancy, but a basic place with a decent price.
Review 3:Owners a bit grumpy, bed hard and terribly uncomfortable. No parking at premises. We were lucky to find a good spot on the street - otherwise we were pointed to a muddy hilly area where no spots available anyway.
Review 4:Location, wifi strength decent and in room (as opposed to just in lobby like other places we'd been),
Review 5:Right in the heart of picturesque Dingle - a comfortable and clean b&b. We were a bit late arriving and this was no problem. Great cooked breakfast.
Review 6:Our room was perfect! Mike was a lovely host - always available if we needed anything. The location is fantastic - right on the marina, and a short walk to plenty of good pubs. We couldn't have enjoyed it more.
Review 7:No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, it's in a communal area
Review 8:Perfectly located in the town. Very friendly staff. Would definitely visit again.
Review 9:No elevator, so expect to lug your bags up the stairs.
Review 10:The location was great - bars and restaurants just steps away and a small supermarket about one block away. The room was quiet and clean. No luxury, but great atmosphere!
Review 11:The staff was very friendly! The Full Irish Breakfast was fantastic. We slept very well there, parking was easy, and there was a big grocery store a couple minute's walk away where we could load up on snacks for the day. This was a good launching point for our excursions on Dingle Peninsula.
Review 12:Leaving !!!
Review 13:Murphy's is in the most perfect location convenient to everything ,Siobhan met us and immediately made us feel welcome ,she is just lovely ,, Next morning Mike called us for breakfast and I thought I would have to skip it since I am coeliac and most places don't cater for gluten free diets ,,, Nope not here !! Michael explained how he could put together a full Irish breakfast with gluten free toast as well ,,all cooked separately and carefully ,, he knows what he is doing and I was delighted and I knew I was in good hands ,,what a treat ,,,thanks guys ,,
Review 14:So close to downtown. Couldn't stay for breakfast but owner gave us the key to the kitchen and he made these fabulous brown bread sandwiches for us.
Review 15:Right across the street from the wharf and in walking distance of everything in Dingle. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful in every way. Parking was readily accessible.
Review 16:Mr. Murphy was friendly and lugged our two heavy suitcases up to our room. He made an excellent breakfast and gave great tips for local and Dingle sites! Hoping to stay here again.
Review 17:I couldn't fault anything with it.
Review 18:Was greeted by Siobhan who was so nice and welcoming to us. Great location , spotless clean , comfy bed .Lovely breakfast , a friend of ours that was travelling but staying elsewhere called while we were eating our breakfast and he was given breakfast with us , a really nice gesture.
Review 19:We learned during our stay that while the waterfront area where the hotel is located is the most attractive with good restaurants, the best night life with pubs for music is located a 10-minute walk to another area of the town. No fault of the hotel of course, but worth considering.
Review 20:Very convenient for restaurants on waterfront. Owner very informative and friendly. B and b is attractive, and all rooms are in the rear.
Review 21:Right in the middle of Dingle Town, great recommendations for bars/restaurants, lovely skylight made the room airy. Nice tea room overlooking bay.
Review 22:Rooms were very basic and nothing fancy. Staff was luke-warm friendly.
Review 23:Great location to all Dingle pubs and attraction. Parking was easy enough. Breakfast was good but nothing special. Excellent price for a September stay. Bed was comfortable enough
Review 24:We had a warm welcome from the owner and there was a nice lounge with tea, coffee and biscuits to help ourselves, just what we needed. The room was spacious and the shower was good. Lovely stay.
Review 25:Cannot beat the location of Murphy's and Michael Murphy, the proprietor, is as personable and caring as can be, making sure we were totally taken care of. Incredible views across to Dingle Bay, perfect proximity to bars and a very good Irish breakfast.
Review 26:Parking was a bit rough but being from NYC, not too bad.
Review 27:Like Michael said when we arrived, "If you came for peace and quiet, you're in the wrong place." Well we did get some peace and quiet, it wasn't all that rowdy but the local music, pubs and craig will keep your toes tapping. The place was clean, breakfast was great and hands down, I had my best shower in Ireland in Murphy's. Thanks guys.
Review 28:This B&B was just what we were looking for in Dingle. The room was very spacious and well decorated. Tea, Coffee and Biscuits were available in the lounge room just down the hall. The B&B is also in a lovely location close to Dingle harbour, several pubs and restaurants and the tourist office. Would recommend this B&B to anyone!
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:Lovely reception. Good parking and both the room and bathroom were large for once. Breakfast was excellent and you walk out the door into the Main Street. Lots of pubs and music close by.
Review 31:As a group of weary cyclists arriving in the torrential rain, our hosts couldn't have been more helpful. They stored all our wet dripping bikes in the house and even organised a restaurant for all 15 in our group. Breakfast was brilliant. I will definitely come back here again- what a welcome. Thank you.
Review 32:You do have to plan ahead when your room is up three flights of stairs!
Review 33:The staff was delightful, the beds comfortable - the B&B was centrally located. They gave us really good advice about sightseeing and restaurants.
Review 34:With the two Murphy's side by side it was a bit confusing when we first arrived tired and unable to find parking in the late afternoon. After that, the location was ideal, and after the day trippers left parking was not an issue. We only experienced breakfast at two B&Bs in Ireland and wondered about the, to us, late start time. Leisurely at 8 am to be sure, but with so much to see and do on the peninsula (before the crowds of day trippers arrived!) 7 or even 7:30 would have given us a but more time in the morning.
Review 35:The tea/coffee lounge was a lovely idea. There were stairs up to the first floor, but Mike was right there to assist with luggage so that was never an issue. The location was brilliant both for exploring the town, the pubs, and the peninsula. Booking online was marvellous. The breakfast food was great.
Review 36:The owners were very helpful and friendly, the location was perfect for exploring the town of Dingle, breakfast was tasty, and the room was large. We especially appreciated the advice about where to hear Irish music.
Review 37:The B&B isn't air conditioned, which I knew when I booked it. However, Ireland was having an unseasonably warm spell and my room on the fourth floor was hot during my stay. No problem though, because the proprietor actually gave me his own fan! That solved the problem.
Review 38:It was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was wonderful and the owners were kind. The location can't be beat! There is no lift, but the proprietor kindly carried my suitcase up the stairs for me.
Review 39:The Murphy's were wonderful hosts (providing great insights on touring the area and tips for things to do), breakfast was awesome, and you couldn't ask for a better location in Dingle. Our teenage children were able to enjoy some freedom without any worries. There are at least a dozen pubs in walking distance with a variety of live music, including next door and just another just few doors down. The music stopped at 11 or 12 and Murphy's was very peaceful for a good night's rest. We would definitely return.
Review 40:Location was superb, we were able to park our car & walk everywhere. Breakfast was lovely & the staff/owner very friendly!
