Reviews for Dingle Harbour Lodge B&B

Review 1:Room 4 shower was scolding hot, no means to chnage temp. Did let them know so im sure it will be fixed.

Review 2:Very friendly staff, lovely brekkie. Great location. excellent value for money.

Review 3:Only minor issue, the head board was not securely fixed to the wall/bed

Review 4:The main receptionist was extremely polite and very informative of the surrounding area. The bathroom was very comfortable and appropriate for the one night stay we had.

Review 5:For a triple room the tv could have been on a swivel so everyone can see the tv other than that all good

Review 6:Stayed their twice now the staff are very polite and situated in the perfect place. Going back again in the spring sometime

Review 7:Interior of building, beyond Reception area, needs a bit of tlc.

Review 8:Staff on Reception were polite and helpful, as were those on duty at breakfast. Location is great.

Review 9:Would recommend the dingle harbour lodge to anyone. Breakfast was lovely , good selections, beds were comfortable and for a 3 bed room there was plenty of space

Review 10:The accommodation, while clean and secure, is quite shabby- mattresses worn (but clean!), walls roughly repaired, etc

Review 11:the staff were welcoming and eager to help in any way

Review 12:The breakfast was lovely. Staff were genuinely nice. Walking distance from the town centre. Will be recommending this place to my friends and co-workers

Review 13:I would call it a hotel rather than a B & B so it lacks a bit of character. There was a strong smell from the fish factory close by, but it is a fishing harbour and the smell did not enter the hotel.

Review 14:The breakfast was very good and could not be faulted. Very good staff. The location is a short walk to the central harbour. Parking is good.

Review 15:On our last night we had some very inconsiderate guests who woke us around 1am. And continued singing and shouting for well over 1 hour. When we mentioned it to hotel staff, I not really sure they were at all bothered.

Review 16:The location is almost opposite the harbour. Where some of the rooms have harbour views.

Review 17:Poor shower without a shelf. No English TV channels. A choice of yogurts and some variety in the Full Irish would have been nice. Mushrooms and hash browns would be nice.

Review 18:Warm welcome. Comfortable bed. Prunes for breakfast.

Review 19:Nothing bad to put a finger on. Just seemed a little tired (not the staff, the building). The wifi connection was not good in the room.

Review 20:Breakfast was the best yet. A good spot for exploring the village. Great parking

Review 21:The rooms were very clean, the staff were so friendly, they make it a pleasure to stay there. Breakfast was the nicest I've ever had, even better than a lot of the hotels I've stayed in

Review 22:Great location, super staff, we left behind a watch & they dropped it up to our friend in the town for return within minutes of our phonecall. Above & beyond the call of duty! Would highly recommend their customer service & attitude.

Review 23:The staff was nice enough but unhelpful. When we asked about recommendations on what to see, we were told to "take a quick drive around the peninsula and then get drunk." The room is not worth the price. The bathroom was clean but old and dingy. The beds were uncomfortable. There were no towel rods anywhere. The wi-fi was a pretty sketchy connection at best.

Review 24:The location is unbeatable - placed higher up with a view of the harbor (if you have a harbor view, that is) and close to downtown Dingle. The breakfast was also good. We arrived late and they were nice enough to work with us.

Review 25:Third time staying in the Harbour Lodge. The place is ideally located, great view and the rooms are brilliant. Best thing about the Harbour lodge is the staff; they will literally go above and beyond anything they can do to help customers. Lost my iPhone in a bar, one of the night porters contacted the bar and drove down to get it at 4am to collect it. Top people working there!

Review 26:Very friendly staff who accommodated my early checkin request and the next morning even enquired if I had enjoyed the wedding I was attending in the area. Thumbs up

Review 27:Quiet room. Generous sized room. Very convenient breakfast hours with good choices. Shower that was easy to adjust. A short walk from town center so that we didn't have to use our car and find parking.

Review 28:cannot sleep in hear alot of activity from other guests from vents in bathroom to banging doors etc

Review 29:lodge location is great easy to find on the road into dingle and many parking spaces.

Review 30:The phone didn't work so I couldn't contact reception. The shower base was broken and leaked and water in the shower was only just luke warm. There was mould around the window box and along the shower base. The key was very difficult to use on the door lock. It wasn't worth the money.

Review 31:Staff were pleasant and breakfast was very good.

Review 32:This was in a prime location with a lovely view over the harbour. Ideal rooms for couples or families too. The staff were extremely friendly and breakfast was fab! I would highly recommend to friends and family and will be staying again.

Review 33:A lot of mould around the window. One of the windows was cover in condensation,(between the pains of glass) Furniture/bedding could do with updating.

Review 34:We stayed in the family room which was located over the kitchen. By very early morning, it was loud and smelled like breakfast meat. The sounds from the kitchen were very disturbing to our sleep.

Review 35:It was a great location and a good value.the staff was very nice.

Review 36:Location oversold on website - re. view of harbour & marina. Booking of school party overstretched staff and facilities, and they were noisy coming and going, particularly at night.

Review 37:Friendliness of staff.

Review 38:I stayed here before but was very disappointed at the slippage in standards on this occasion. A stale smell percolated through the bedroom area. The property is over priced for what is little better than a hostel type accomodation

Review 39:Location

Review 40:I thought it was expensive. Its called a b and b but you have to pay for the breakfast separately, it should be included in the price.

Review 41:Lovely location clean room and friendly staff.

Review 42:As soon as you walk down any hall you get hit in the face with a strong smell of scented plugins trying to mask the smell of urine. The beds were very uncomfortable. The bathrooms were disgusting with mold in the shower. The wifi is a joke, I could never get mine to connect in the room, it only really worked in the lobby.

Review 43:The breakfast was good and the view was pretty. We could walk around Dingle from our hotel and not take our car out, which was nice.

Review 44:Where do I begin a first you think it's nice the reception. Is very nice but omg it's like a hostel . When we got to our room the bathroom stunk awful there was a leak I. The bathroom floor was soaked so I had to use the towels to soak up the water it was dirty and the smell well !!!! I had to use my daughters room for a shower along with my husband and daughter , the hairdryer from reception broke the ironing board dirty I hated the place so much but on a plus after complaining I did get 60£ euros back never again

Review 45:Had a good stay, brought ear plugs but didn't need to use them, no noise anywhere. Room was basic but very clean and bed was very comfy. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 46:Rooms were very basic. It was more like a hostel than a lodge/hotel. The price was that of a hotel.

Review 47:Great location with a beautiful of Dingle Bay. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful.

Review 48:Great place to stay. Central and clean and comfortable. Eamonn - Thanks for your great advice for food and travel in Dingle! Above and beyond the call of duty. Worth your weight in gold. :-) thank you!

Review 49:Poorly maintened bathroom, broken bits of shower, loose toilet seat, damaged shower tap. Ever so basic furniture, cheap wooden stuff. Smelly corridors, tattered carpets, dimly lit. Overall a very poorly maintened B and B. Sorry!

Review 50:Location, breakfast and free wifi

Review 51:Over priced hostel, low budget build, worn fixtures, and no facilities. Woken at 4.20am by staff member arguing and being rude and aggressive with a guest in a different room on basis of noise complaint. Only noise was staff member !!!

Review 52:Comfortable bed. Good location.

Review 53:There was no top sheet on the bed; it must be an Irish custom. It was called a B&B but breakfast was not included in the price. It was elbow to elbow tourists.

Review 54:We liked the proximity to downtown Dingle. There were many choices for dining.

Review 55:The room bathroom was very dirty and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. Some bleach would not go amiss around the shower and pedestal.

Review 56:Very good breakfast and very good service and staff

Review 57:The rooms are more like hostel rooms with old key lock doors... the doors themselves are paper thin and as a result you can hear EVERYTHING going on ALL the time and visa versa im sure... The beds were a small double and were uncomfortable... the bathroom was grotty with dirty grout, old fixtures etc... WAY over priced.

Review 58:The location and the view are the ONLY selling points.

Review 59:bed very uncomfortable, bathroom not overly clean, finding hair and dirt, breakfast on the first morning very bad but the second morning good.

Review 60:we liked the view and location, staff where friendly.

Review 61:Long drive to get there but Adair a good stop off try 2nd thatched coffee shop entering village from Limerick.

Review 62:Staff very helpful, free parking and a very easy walk to aquarium marina for all boat trips and fabulous restaurants so near . Try crabs claws and mussels at restaurant with a conservatory just past aquarium. Great staff especially Lisa. Great for local advice. Amusements also within walking great pubs with traditional music.

Review 63:The stay cost €137 for one night in what I could only describe as a hostel at best! No wifi, unfriendly staff, unclean room! No hairdryer or iron! Would not stay again.

Review 64:4am in the morning banging on our door Drunken male banging on our door Receptionist along with him telling us to open the door to let him in Must have woken the entire floor Need to monitor guests and assure if intoxicated that they have the right key or don't let them upstairs

Review 65:Location is adequate

Review 66:A little pricey for what you get although I did stay on a bank holiday weekend so maybe that's why. The only real complaint I had was the smell of air fresher in the halls is a little over bearing. It's not in the rooms but if you have allergies be prepared to sneeze head off

Review 67:The location was perfect, couple minutes walk to the town. Rooms clean and nice, breakfast nice

Review 68:We were only given one key for our bedroom which caused a problem when we arrived back to B&B separately.

Review 69:Prefect location, only 1/2 minute walk from town centre. Basic but nice & clean and very comfortable beds. Prefect place to spend a few days.

Review 70:The rooms were extremely small and outdated and the beds were beyond uncomfortable. The price of the room was way too much for what was offered.

Review 71:The location was great and so was the breakfast. The staff was very friendly as well.

Review 72:Breakfast wasn't on early enough for us to take advantage of it before we left. Also having to request a hair dryer from reception wasn't great with dripping wet hair so dryers in rooms would be preferred.

Review 73:Location and facilities were good.

Review 74:Keys didn't work properly and we had trouble getting in and out of room Beds are small and old Place is run down and needs a lot of maintenance

Review 75:Nothing

Review 76:No dresser in room so we had to leave most clothes in suitcase. Toilet seat was loose but staff repaired promptly. No elevator but staff helped with luggage. No phone in room to call front desk if an emergency arose. No hair dyer. Noisy - slamming doors, some rowdy male patrons.

Review 77:Willingness of staff to go beyond expectations. Helped with medical issue. Aided rearranging itinerary to accommodate. Found a cab to drive us to Shannon on short notice.

Review 78:Only do breakfast. Very good and it is their business model. But you cannot get any other meal

Review 79:Location good. Within walking distance of restaurants and pubs.

Review 80:The lodge is old and compared to other places where we stayed it was also overpriced. Noisy late into the night. Not what we expected considering online photos and price. Very average.

Review 81:We expected more but the location was nice.

Review 82:Noisy. Heard guests at all hours. Very spartan room and bathroom. Not very cozy. Felt like staying in an upgraded hostel rather than a lodge or b&b pricey too for what you got.

Review 83:We arrived fairly late and only had 1 room in our name, before we left I had modified the reservation and added another room through booking.com but the never received it. So my 3 adult children and husband and self had to share 1 room

Review 84:Breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly

Review 85:Furniture was a bit poor. There was dust lying on the floor and the Windows were horrible dirty.

Review 86:Breakfast was quite good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were clean and wifi was very good. Plenty of room for cars.

Review 87:Ground floor room, just off reception could do with a net curtain, have to pull heavy curtain when having shower, so i didn't walk out for all to see.

Review 88:Well located and friendly staff on arrival, suggested places to go for.food and drink,

Review 89:It is wasn't very clean. The doors are very poor quality and every time someone left their room you could hear the slam all through the hallway

Review 90:The staff was very friendly!

Review 91:Litter outside. Wifi kept stopping. Shower door broken. Unclean shower. Massive spider in the room. Damp all over windows. Only 2 small towels when we got there. Too expensive for a room with no breakfast.

Review 92:The staff were nice

Review 93:Being from southern europe it is simply impossible not to note how overpriced ALL hotels in the UK and Ireland are - this one was no exception. The shower was broken and hard to operate, and the wood flooring (unlike the typically Irish carpet) really made the place less comfortable.

Review 94:There is nothing really outstanding about the hotel. Still, it is ok-ish, and among the least expensive in Dingle

Review 95:Inch beach is about 20-mins drive and seemed to be the closest beach, if you're looking to a beach-centered holiday consider staying there

Review 96:Great location in town, walkable to shops & restaurants, free, easy parking, nice breakfast

Review 97:Location great, very much budget bed and breakfast at a high rate. We had issue with shower but Daniel took care of us. Needs upgrade. Wasn't what I expected

Review 98:I had an 8am meeting and there was no breakfast available before then therefore I simply arrived slept and left. If the breakfast started from 7am I would have been well-prepared for my 8am meeting! Something maybe to think about :)

Review 99:I liked the service I received from the reception. Neasa, I think, told me they'd keep the key for me at reception (I was arriving v late on the night) and they did. It was great.

Review 100:Nothing bad to say.

Review 101:We were really impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the breakfast in particular. It's not a fancy place, but it was genuinely comfortable and the staff made us feel so well taken care of, we enjoyed it more than many of the more expensive places we've stayed. It's a great value!

Review 102:The small from the fish factory next door. But not bad enough to put me off coming again!! Only smelt it when walking pass it.

Review 103:The hotel was brilliant, staff very friendly and accommodating. Great value for money and good location, near some good pubs and restaurants.

Review 104:They weren't expecting us--evidently they didn't receive the booking from booking.com. We were sent to a family room that wasn't cleaned. They ended up giving us another family room with a better view (of the harbor) so it worked out.

Review 105:Location, breakfast, and flexibility of staff.

Review 106:There were several electrical outlets in our bed room that did not work. The head boards on the beds were extremely lose.

Review 107:The room where we stayed was newly painted and the room was set-up to accomodate four people.

Review 108:Very disappointed on the day we were staying friday 9th at approx 12noon i was telephoned to say that we could only stay friday as they were going to close on Saturday. Did we want to stay friday and then move to another B&B the Quayside which they choose instead or just stay the two night in quayside. we opted to stay in the quayside. Discount given for breakfast at our request for inconvenience. Staff in quayside friendly, room small, bathroom smaller and could not use shower easily as it was very old fashioned and found it very hard to turn on(stiff) My friend had to turn on and off for me. B&B should not accept booking and then reject on the day of arrival!! Deirdre Keane Cork

Review 109:I and my family would like to say thanks for the receptionist for the availability to facilitate the exchange of our room, so providing opportunities in more comfort. Thank you, we are very pleased and happy ...

Review 110:Bathroom was large, but did not have a tub, only a small shower stall. While this in no way ruined our vacation, it seemed a bit odd. No other issues with this stay.

Review 111:Clean and comfortable rooms with lovely view of Dingle Bay. Plenty of parking, easy walk to town center and short drive to area attractions. Delicious Irish breakfast was included and made to order in the lobby dining area. Staff was very welcoming and went out of their way to answer all questions.

Review 112:Great place great viewing peace full at least 3 days viewing for whole area that's is big area specially Ring of kerry that's is beauty .thanks

Review 113:the double bed creaked loudly with the slightest movement, one person in it, anxious she would waken others in room. the door into bathroom needs oiling , not good in middle of the night in three person room! Booked three single beds in room, confirmed this on phone, room 7. On arrival we had room 6, with camp bed, double bed and single, I said Rm 7, insisted it was Rm 6! Later said yes it was changed from Rm 7, there was a problem with Rm 7. I said I'd asked for 3 single beds, we were offered Rm 25 upstairs but heating had to be put on...we were tired and choose to stay in 6. That wasn't great. In advert it should be clearly stated beside cost that hot breakfast not incl, and is extra.

Review 114:the room. cleanliness, location, staff helpful, friendly, had nice cold breakfast, good value.

Review 115:Some drunks came back at 2am and they were parting until 3am. They shouldn't allow this kind of behaviour. Very annoying for other customer.

Review 116:The b&b was v good. Great Location, room and breakfast

Review 117:I had a great stay here for four nights. My room was very clean with a great unsuite, the location was very handy to the town so was great just to walk to the shops and pubs no taxis needed. The views from the b+b or fab, but don't think all rooms have sea views .the price I paid was good for the room but I was there in September . I would stay here again.

Review 118:Alot of cobwebs in window and dirt also. came in to reception and was greeted by a very ignorant night porter. would nearly put me off staying again.

Review 119:View was amazing. Blonde Girl at reception couldn't do enough for us. Great assit to the lodge.

Review 120:Comfortable, clean, convenient accommodation, friendly efficient staff, good facilities at a good price. Enjoyed our 2-night stay and would definitely stay here again.

Review 121:Room finish & facilities were just average quality but OK for the price

Review 122:Great location, views, helpful staff & good breakfast Parking also very easy

Review 123:The ensuite was offputting. The seals around the base of the shower doors was black. The skirting boards were black and damp. Couldn't bring ourselves to use the shower. The headboards were not attached to the beds. Room 10 not suitable for a family group and in need of a facelift.

Review 124:The staff were very friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good

Review 125:Building and facilities extremly poor, more a very bad student hostel than a "Lodge". A need for massive cleaning and restaurantion!

Review 126:Friendly staff, free wifi, central location

Review 127:Shower had really low water pressure. Toilet ran non-stop (had to fill the tank with trash buckets of water to get it to stop). Most expensive place we stayed as we drove through Ireland, and the least nice.

Review 128:Walking distance to restaurants and pubs. Good breakfast. Room was clean.

Review 129:The walls are a bit thin and there was a guy (I'm assuming it was a guy) snoring so loud in an adjacent room that my walls were literally vibrating! I had to wear my iPod to sleep he snored so loud! Otherwise, a great place to stay!

Review 130:This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. I was running in the Dingle Marathon and it was just down the street to the start/bus-ride back to the finish from the half-point. The staff was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful! I will definitely be back next year! Thanks a Million!!
