Boasting a large seasonal outdoor pool and a shared BBQ, Fattoria Il Colombaio is a working farm surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. It is in the Tuscan countryside 1.2 miles from Monteriggioni.
The property produces its own Chianti wine and olive oil. The on-site cellar can be visited and guests can enjoy wine and food tasting tours, as well as buying some of the produce.
A sweet and savoury buffet breakfast, including Tuscan cheese and cold cuts, is served daily. The restaurant opens on request and prepares Regional specialities.

Review 2：Nice, clean rooms. We got a tour of the wine cellar and did a wine tasting on site. Staff and owner are very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great. Even home baked goodies could be at the buffet.

Review 7：There was no-one to meet us at 2pm. the given time on our booking. A note on the door said check -in was 3pm. We waited until 2.45pm and then phoned their number. A very taciturn man arrived and showed us to our room, without offering a word of welcome. No coat hangars in the wardrobe. and for the price we expected more. The following morning a breakfast there were two very cheery ladies serving and they were very good.

Review 10：The place is beautiful. It's a prime example of a Tuscan farmhouse. Marco, the owner and his staff went out of their way to make our stay a very pleasant one. Will visit again for sure.
Review 11：The hotel is very close to Montereggiano castle, the staff are very friendly.The room was very clean and conformable, and my room which was located on secod floor had a beauiful view of Toscana through the window, it's a great place to stay.
Review 12：This gorgeous place is surrounded by rolling sunny hills just like you imagine Tuscany to be like. It was an amazing place to stay, being able to relax in a pool overlooking the vineyards and enjoy delicious local pasta and gelato. Must visit San Gimignano nearby and the Chianti vineyards.

Review 14：I didnt like that being a nice place as it is, it makes you feel like its lack of good taste and care for the details. The rooms were fairly furnished and clean, but you dont find that special touch that you do in another places of this category. The place has a lot of potencial but I don't think the owners really care to improve it. As a metter of fact the office is closed almost always and you need to call the owner who lives like 5 min away to come and accomodate you, or make the check out, and goes back home; this gives you a feelling of abandonment and not a personal treatment. The office has a strong sweat odor, that gives a bad impression........
Review 15：We liked the setting and landscape where the hotel is located, and the house and pool are nice, but it can absolutely be improved. The girl attending the dining room for breakfast was the most kind and gentle person, wanting to help in a noticable manner. One of the highlights was a restaurant near by recomended by the hotel owner thats called Bar dell'Orso; it is a road side place always crowded, great food, great service and live music at some hours.

Review 31：Love to be in the country away from city traffic and noise. We always use Il Colombaio as our headquarters in Toscana. It's nice to go on day trips around the area and return to a relaxing place with a great pool to unwind.

Upon owner's suggestion, we brought our dinner from a nearby restaurant and enjoyed the evening on the terrace together with an excellent wine made on the property.

Review 38：For my opinion the situation is little bit too formal. The bathroom is big but without windows and the shower is very little (1m X 1m) situated in a dark corner.
Review 39：It is very clean and it is situated in very good position to visit Monteriggione, Siena and San Gimignano. The Position in the middle of the hills is realy good for relaxing and for view a beautiful landscape. They product a very good wine.

We had a very relaxing stay though the breakfast was a little limited unless you like cake for breakfast.
Review 47：We had booked a triple room, the photo on their website showed a nice,spacious room and the description assured us it would be spacious, withprivate use of a portion on the garden. When we got there, we were takento a horrible, extremely cramped little room, obviously not a tripleroom we had paid for, where an extra bed had been squeezed into and wecouldn't walk take two steps in this room it was so small, there wasjust space for the beds. Also, we had no outside area to use, aspromised in the booking. When I went to talk to the female owner aboutthis, she didn't give me the time of day, she just carried on typingaway at the computer, hardly looked up, very rude. Throughout our stay,they were most unfriendly and unhelpful, they provided no information onareas to visit, restaurants, nor even of their estate - we were hopingto do some wine tasting (they have their own wines there) but receivedno information, they didn't even tell us what times breakfast wasserved. Breakfast was terrible, very meagre with no choice or selection.We won't be staying here again and we definitely would not recommendit, I have never met with such uncorteous behaviour on the part of ourhosts in any place I have every stayed in. And it is unethical to show aphoto and description of a room, pay the rate for a triple and besqueezed into a tiny room which was definitely not for three people! Wewere highly disappointed.

Review 50：it is a shame to be close to the highway because you here sometimes some background noise but for Monteriggoni it is a great location with view on the castle, quick access to the road, close to several little roads where you find exquisite restaurants and you are in the middle of the vineyards so you still feel you are in the countryside,
