Reviews for Borgo Gallinaio
Review 1:This has nothing to do with a bad experience but you do need to have a car to move about
Review 2:Beautiful and very intimate old farmhouse, spacious rooms, great and totally quiet property, proximity to Monteriggioni, to Sienna, to Chianti, excellent cooking in the evenings and opulent breakfasts
Review 3:Driveway leading to property is in shocking condition, at its worst directly at the gate to the Borgo.
Review 4:Peaceful and relaxing. Owner very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Option to eat there each evening was useful, although limited choices (understandably). Perfect location to visit ancient cities.
Review 5:Our room was right beside the sitting area and the cellar so in the evening there was a dinner and wine tasting which was rather loud then hearing the lady clear the glasses and dishes was rather disturbing unfortunately. However maybe if we had been aware that there was an option to eat at the accommodation or see and taste wines in the cellar it may have been better. The room was very small but nice however the lady offered to store our bags if required but we only stayed one night it was fine.
Review 6:Location and character of the accommodation and views plus close position to Greve center The gardens and pool are were beautiful and breakfast area very relaxing and refreshing Greve also had fab restaurants and small lovely shops.
Review 7:Nothing.
Review 8:We arrived late but were lucky enough To be able to have dinner. It's a set meal but delicious food which we ate in the courtyard by candlelight and then just wandered upstairs to our beautiful room.
Review 9:The warmth of welcome from Alessandro instantly makes you feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble and the setting is just lovely - at the end of a long driveway up between olive groves - overlooking the hilltop walled town of Monteriggioni, and 15 minutes from Siena, in the heart of Tuscany. Breakfast and dinner outside (weather permitting), good sized pool, charming rustic bedrooms, beautiful grounds - the perfect setting to relax and unwind and let Tuscany work its magic.
Review 10:I would of enjoyed some music with my supper - anything Italian, low in volume.
Review 11:Host Allysandro was even more amazing than his name, truly a lovely person! The cook can cook good! Both breakfast and dinner were fabulous. I wanted to stay longer, two nights was not long enough - especially if you want to experience wine tasting, Sienna, Chianti, the local town or simply relax at the farm.
Review 12:The manager (Alessandra) is an outstanding host. A true professional in hospitality and assisted with every part of our stay and travels. Naturally his staff followed his example. The place itself is beautiful with a lovely setting and we got that true Tuscan feel that we were looking for. The food (optional dinner) was the best food we had in 2 weeks of eating out in Italy. Superb.
Review 13:We simply liked it all. A wonderful estate in a great environment, awesome good and top amenities, and Alessandro, the manager, is just phenomenal. It's the perfect spot that's close to Siena and other places, yet at the same time remote and calm.
Review 14:It's a quibble, but I wish the signal for the wi-fi reached to the rooms.
Review 15:The property is beautiful and only about a mile from Monteriggioni along a decent gravel road. It's very tranquil but you can get in and out easily and both Siena and Chianti are easy to visit from here. We stayed four nights and ate dinner here each night. This is not something we usually do, but the food was excellent and every dinner was unique. You can check the menu at breakfast and sign up for dinner each day rather than having to decide on half board from the beginning. The best part of Borgo Gallinaio is the atmosphere created by the hosts. They are ready to help with anything you need and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
Review 16:The dinners were bland. Better to go to town.
Review 17:Great location for visiting the Tuscany area.
Review 18:So friendly and helpful. Wonderful atmosphere! He felt like family. Breakfast was so good.
Review 19:The room was too small and too hot on high stairs, and the A/C was very noisy.

Review 35:Wonderful place, perfect to relax and to visit the tuscan countryside and the near beautiful cities: Siena San Giminiano end Certaldo. Director and staff really very friendly and nice. See you soon!!
Review 36:Lovely setting, well-preserved. Beautiful country side, outdoor sitting areas, quiet. Delicious meals including breakfast buffet. I emailed a friend that it was quaint. Sort of like the three bears just left and Martha Stewart redid it. Lovely bathroom.
Review 37:There is nothing we didn't like. Having said that though, you haveto have a car to appreciate this place. It is a bit remote from any townof significant size, but it is centrally located enough to see almostanyplace in Tuscany as a day trip.
Review 38:Alessandro, the manager, was a veritable font of information on history, languages, sports, things to do and see, and directions on how to geteverywhere in the Tuscan countryside. On top of all of that, he wasthere to help bail us out when we had car trouble. He has also puttogether a great staff that keep the place running smoothly.
