Reviews for Dingle Benners Hotel
Review 1:We should have had the foresight to book a table in the bar for dinner, but the receptionist made several recommendations which were on point for our little group.
Review 2:From the moment we arrived, we felt valued. All the staff we met could not do enough for us and our boys really enjoyed the more 'grown up' experience of having their own room! Hot Chocolates in the lounge were deemed superb and they had to go for another sleep after their breakfast!!!
Review 3:Very little, pillows a little hard & some twin rooms are quite small so might pay to check this out when booking.
Review 4:Decor, comfort level, friendliness of staff, several areas for chatting, reading or just relaxing, interesting photos on walls, great breakfast incl baked sole, generous sized rooms, heavy curtains, location...
Review 5:A side exit door was open all day and evening while we were staying and it did make the reception area feel quite cold.
Review 6:This is one of my favourite hotels to stay in Kerry.Love the old style of the hotel .The bar always has a fire burning and as it was just before Xmas they had beautiful smelling Xmas tree at the reception area.
Review 7:Bar staff disorganised. Had to leave early on last morning ,had arranged breakfast to be abailable (just wanted coffee and toast),when we arrived down we were told we could'nt get any,as they were too busy.
Review 8:Fab room, waiting staff and reception great. Food was good.
Review 9:If I was to make one criticism, the bedroom furniture and decor were dated. However, room was very comfortable and spacious.
Review 10:Hotel staff could not have been more friendly or helpful in particular the lovely receptionist. The breakfast next morning was absolutely delicious, cooked from fresh and not left in the usual buffet warming dishes used in a lot of hotels. Generous sized towels and face cloths were provided and very welcome.
Review 11:Loved our quiet spacious room. Loved the bar/ restaurant. INCREDIBLE tirimusu! Loved the lobby. So charming. PERFECT!!! and the best and easiest hotel parking of our whole trip.
Review 12:Room wasn't ready at after 3pm, but they accommodated us as we were heading to a wedding ?
Review 13:Fab staff. Great location. Fantastic weather for November. Restaurant breakfast staff couldn't be nicer! Hotel could be cheaper though....
Review 14:There was no problem about single occupancy. The room was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom and not too big for one person. I really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic and the staff were without exception both professional and lovely to deal with. I would stay there again.
Review 15:Stayed in the older part of the hotel. Initially thought that would be cool, but nothing in the room itself seemed like it had been renovated in a long while. Just looked and felt dirty.
Review 16:The free breakfast was fantastic!
Review 17:We booked a double + single room , single room v poor , v dark . no proper window , looking across at blank wall 1 meter away , bed v hard
Review 18:Friendliness of staff
Review 19:Aside from cleanliness, the most important thing to me is a comfortable bed. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed in the mattresses. The blow dryer in our room was dated and seemed hazardous. The toilet handle was missing.
Review 20:Loved the location of the hotel. The staff were excellent. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel was clean.
Review 21:We loved everything about our stay, Its such a beautiful hotel charming and quaint. The staff are very accommodating, excellent customer service and very friendly. Breakfast superb great choice.
Review 22:No complaints at all.
Review 23:The location was great and the food was fantastic. The owners and the staff were so friendly. I would highly recommend this B & B
Review 24:The wifi was not strong and the internet connection dropped many times.
Review 25:The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the location near pubs, restaurants and sightseeing and of course, the wonderful breakfast.
Review 26:The room was a big let down. Drab and outdated in every way.
Review 27:The lobby and bar are wonderful with great atmosphere. The breakfast is very nice. The staff are great. The location is great.
Review 28:Aside from the length of climb to our room (we were warned and did have the choice for another lower room) the bed was perhaps a little hard. Also, I found the water pressure and temperature a bit low in our bathroom.
Review 29:The location is great, right in the centre of Dingle. The stand out feature was the warmth of the staff. Our room had wonderful views over the harbour on one side and the mountains on the other, but it was a long climb to get to it.
Review 30:The location was perfect, the hotel was immaculate, the breakfast was the best ever. The staff was very helpful in making our arrangements for golfing, dolphin cruises and other activities before our trip by email, and in person once we arrived.
Review 31:Although I only stayed for one night, it was more than enough for me to form an opinion. Our room itself was a good size and was presented as a living and a sleeping room. We chose to have our evening meal in the hotel and were treated to a feast of a meal; enough to put us both to sleep very quickly. Breakfast the next morning was wholesome and the staff ensured that we wanted for nothing.
Review 32:Bed and pillow were a bit hard.
Review 33:All staff very polite and with great smiles. Breakfast was excellent. Cannot fault this hotel and will be recommending it.
Review 34:The 4 hour comute from dublin :(
Review 35:From the first contact with first staff member, everything about our stay was perfect, service, cleanliness, food, location, We will 100% be returning VERY soon !!
Review 36:Biggest problem for a business traveller is that breakfast doesn't start until 8:00am - 7:30am would be much better for early business meetings.
Review 37:The staff are really friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable and relaxing. I look forward to a leisure stay in Benners.
Review 38:No lift to the top floor (though in fairness it's only the third floor!)... :) That we couldn't stay longer.
Review 39:Amazing view from our large double ensuite. Staff super, and very helpful and knowledgeable about what to do & where to go in Dingle - important given the changing weather & our interest in outdoor pursuits. Like this quirky hotel with its old irish pictures & comfy sofas & open fires, very cosy!
Review 40:- supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, but 2 doors down there was a definite smell of cigarettes as we walked down the hallway past the room.
Review 41:-staff very helpful and courteous - made a dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant for us
Review 42:Everything. Great staff, excellent 4 poster room, great location, just perfect! Would definately stay there again without question and highly recommend others do too, but in the original part where possible.
Review 43:No real bad experience but the bedroom was a little dark, a lamp on the dressing table would be a big help. Jameson whiskey a little pricey.
Review 44:The location is excellent and car parking is big plus, staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful, food is good and breakfasts were excellent with numerous options.
Review 45:Location couldn't be bettered for a relaxing few days in the town as all amenities were within easy walking distance . Staff were superb and gave a a heinie my warm welcome with ready advice on where to go and what to do .
Review 46:Dinner in the restaurant was not good. The fish was frozen and over-cooked, it came with over-cooked frozen oven chips. Aioli was on the menu but none arrived. The tartare sauce was mayonnaise. It was over-priced and barely edible.
Review 47:Location, parking and ambience.
Review 48:Poor wifi but to be honest when in such a lovely place you shouldn't be worried about wifi!!!!
Review 49:Really lovely staff, great location and excellent service. Would be happy to recommend to anyone.
Review 50:Staff were very helpful with telling me where to eat and where to go for a drink in and around the town and local attractions would definitely stay on my next visit to dingle thank you
Review 51:From reception to the stairs was a tad chilly , then it was December .
Review 52:Loved the room, number 200 .chowder very good and breakfast , staff friendly and helpful
Review 53:Nothing...
Review 54:Room was spacious with room for 2 couches and 4 poster bed, ate in hotel the 2 nights , menu was limited but food was good, and nice buzz around .. Overall an enjoyable stay ..
Review 55:From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was especially clean comfortable. We ate in the pub on our first night and the food and service were great as were the wine and Guinness. Breakfast was great too. We managed to park out the front of the hotel where parking was free and without restrictions.
Review 56:The ambiance, good energy to feel at home. Lovely room and exellent bed to sleep. Good breakfast and friendly staff, we are sure that we are coming back!
Review 57:It was very quiet the night we were there, also a bottle of water in the roomwould be appreciated
Review 58:This was our first visit, and we liked this hotel the minute we arrived, nice atmosphere. Our room was fantastic, huge. The bathroom was very spacious. We had dinner in the bar,the food was excellent.Overall a wonderful experience.Would highly reccomend.
Review 59:Lovely hotel smack in the middle of town, all old irish charm you would want to expect. Everything within waking distance in city, and they have there own free parking space. Perfect!
Review 60:No Wi Fi in room. Nice hotel but a bit overpriced.
Review 61:Great central location convenient to shopping, pubs, restaurants and sites. Charming hotel with off street parking. Very friendly, helpful staff.
Review 62:1) bed was a little old and not that comfortable 2) pillows could be softer 3) Wifi not great (workable but quite slow)
Review 63:1) location 2) car park (once we found it) 3) historic significance 4) lovely decor throughout the hotel 5) beautiful bar 6) breakfast was quite nice
Review 64:The decor in the rooms was not a match to the hotel itself: rooms were rather stark and decorated with unappealing furniture (had thought, based on photos, that rooms would be furnished with antiques).
Review 65:The location; parking; staff very good; comfortable beds; excellent ensuite
Review 66:Quite expensive when more than one room is required. Limited lunch menu - when a panini was requested without pineapple, this item was just removed leaving the taste still there (instead of making up a new panini). Also our windows didn't open leaving the room very hot.
Review 67:Location Comfortable room with tea facility Quiet at night Nice day rooms to sip a drink and chat Very good breakfast selection of food, individually cooked. Pleasant staff
Review 68:The bed was a tad too firm.
Review 69:I like it's typical irishness.. Loved the antique styling. The Guinness in the front bar was the best I ever tasted. The breakfast was lovely. It was a lovely room with a seaview as requested.. Would definitely stay again if in the area!
Review 70:Benners has played & plays an integral part in the story of Dingle, its unique story & character & central location make it an ideal base to enjoy the town & its hinterland .
Review 71:We stayed in the lovely village of Dingle for two nights. Benners Hotel is classy and comfortable. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help us get settled. The breakfast is fantastic. We also really appreciated the parking area. Dingle is very busy in the summer and parking is at a premium. The hotel is within easy walking distance of everything so once you park, you're good to go discover why Dingle is one of the most charming, beautiful places in the world.
Review 72:bathroom fittings poor standard. toilet seat unsafe and coming away from wall and wash basin coming away from wall. Poor lighting in shower.
Review 73:food and ambiance of traditional hotel.
Review 74:Lack of any sun loungers, only hard iron chairs. Could use balcony as terrace. Unimaginative outside, guests only have a draughty corridor.
Review 75:Comfortable surroundings and room
Review 76:Perhaps a little too much lace in the room, but it did have personality!
Review 77:Nice big room and bathroom. Lots of personality. View onto courtyard and countryside even though the hotel is right downtown. Super location. One of the best breakfasts we had on our trip (amazing smoked salmon). Parking lot available so no worries there.
Review 78:Room in the old part was a little bit noisy due to people slamming the heavy fire doors while walking through them. But definitely not a deal breaker.
Review 79:Easy access to some very good restaurants & the centre of town. Front desk staff were amazing - very friendly & informative. Rooms were huge & really tastefully decorated. Have no hesitation in recommending it Car park is hard to find if you arrive a t the front of the Hotel so ask for directions as the entrance is on a side street.
Review 80:Very central. Extremely friendly staff

Review 82:A very pleasant experience. The Staff were very welcoming eager to make our stay an enjoyable experience
Review 83:Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Lovely hotel. Stayed here previously over 10 years ago, and it stuck in my mind as a nice country hotel.
