Reviews for Agriturismo La Gismonda

Review 1:You definitely need a car as the property is quite remote and it would be difficult to access the lake or town without one.

Review 2:It was very peaceful and relaxing.

Review 3:Low internet speed.

Review 4:Very nice and kind owners (of Agriturismo). For supper good home-cooked food with fresh ingredients from the garden and great homemade liquors. The hotel is on a hill so the view is wonderful. Comfortable rooms. The perfect place to relax from the big cities - fresh air, quiet and peaceful, good food and wine! Be aware that the road to the center of Bracciano is not designed for pedestrians only for drivers.

Review 5:We had the best time here, the staff were incredibly hospitable and made us feel very welcome, we didn't make a dinner reservation but they accommodated us without a problem and we got served the best meal we had in Italy! Highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Review 6:Breakfast is ok, not great. Hot water ran out, despite the place being almost empty.

Review 7:Great location with views of the lake. Large comfortable bedrooms.

Review 8:Our bathroom tub (stanza Verde) could use a handle on the wall to get in an out.

Review 9:We had a room with a private porch on the roof with a view of Lago Bracciano. The bed was a wonderful memory foam. Good breakfast. The pool is clean and fresh and has a wonderful view. Bracciano is a beautiful town with a Castle and good restaurants. Along the lake front are also many restaurants.

Review 10:This is possibly the most peaceful place we've been on holiday, we spent two weeks in February with a mix of cold rainy days and warm sunny days. La Gismonda is an excellent base for travelling around northern Lazio, there are so many interesting places within an hours drive. A visit to the castle/museum is a must, the views from the battlements are amazing. The family who run La Gismonda are very friendly and helpful. It only takes an hour on the train into the centre of Rome.

Review 11:Not a lot to do in the immediate surroundings. Breakfasts were variable - some days it was hard to find anything edible on the table.

Review 12:Swimming pool. Nice pizza restaurant up the road. Open aspect and views.

Review 13:No dislikes.

Review 14:The quiet peaceful rural property, a modern spacious upmarket home with infinity pool, outdoor dining areas, large ensuite, and great breakfast to set us on the next leg of our tour. Our hosts were most hospitable and provided plenty of advice on what to see and do around the township

Review 15:The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom and terrace that caught the sun throughout the day. We didn't have a car and found it easy enough to walk to Bracciano town and to the lake. There is an amazing pizzeria a short walk from the hotel.

Review 16:nothing

Review 17:We like everything! This place with spectacular view and fresh air. Our apartment was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. In the evening we had tasty dinner with typical italian dishes. Staff is very friendly and communicative, they explained us in the details how to reach their villa, book the dinner, considering all our wishes

Review 18:The mattresses were a little hard.

Review 19:The environment was atmospheric near the lake and the little town San Lorenzo. Clean room with zircon. The breakfast was refreshingly not the typical hotel standard, but homemade and very Italian.

Review 20:Some people were having an evening meal at La Gismonda, but this option was not offered to us, in fact we were directed to an outside restaurant.

Review 21:The room was absolutely spotless as was the bathroom and both were very well appointed. There was a good view of the lake from the room and from the swimming pool, which was a lovely addition. the bed was very comfortable and quiet. There was a good choice for breakfast.

Review 22:It seems there are some issues between the staff, I could feel the tension. They should try to hide those until the customers leave. Heaps of garbage near the entrance. Just thrown anywhich way. Surely they could find a way to clean this up. Really a turnoff! Also few signs to help you to the spot without GPS. A more visible one at the actual turn off would be good.

Review 23:The spot is lovely and the entire location will be good as soon as it's finished. Construction of one sort or another still going on.

Review 24:no complaints

Review 25:The entire family were a delight. Julia was especially helpful in terms of language. The room was immaculate, bright and quite newly refinished. The meal we shared with the family was a memorable experience as was the impromptu lunch. The availability of a clothes washer was an added, unexpected plus. We hope we can go back to visit again!

Review 26:Great flexibility with external guests

Review 27:Excellent swimming pool, clean and spacious room with good airco, stunning views, near lake Bracciano

Review 28:Dinner in the evening, expensive for what you had, but very nice.

Review 29:Clean and comfortable

Review 30:The building is ugly.

Review 31:The view and the quiet surroundings.

Review 32:We ate dinner here. It was good but not outstanding.

Review 33:Beautiful location, view of the countryside from the room, swimming pool, spacious room.

Review 34:Limited breakfast options. Dog mess on gravel paths.

Review 35:Huge rooms with a comfy bed. Beautiful location in the country side. Good wifi.

Review 36:Remote and peaceful location. Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding forests.

Review 37:Nothing

Review 38:Everything

Review 39:Great place for visiting Rome and the beach at passa oscuro.

Review 40:Miss the finish outside. Should be some belongings to the kitchen.. Need a car.

Review 41:Clean. Big rooms. Good bed. Ok breakfast. Great shower.

Review 42:Difficult to find. Needed clearer signage.

Review 43:Beautiful location in the country with great views. Staff pleasant and helpful. Ongoing work on the property to improve it further.

Review 44:Nothing - yes really.

Review 45:We really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the location. We enjoy walking and walked into Bracciano daily took about 30mins. You do need a car if walking is a problem for you. The owners and their daughter were very obliging and the daughter spoke good English. We tried a little italian as we feel we Brits tend to think that everyone should speak English even in another country!!!!! La Gismonda was perfect for us. The pool was beautifully clean and very welcome sight after the walk back from Bracciano . Facilities also were fine there is always bottles of water available and tea and coffee making facilities as you go in through the door to the rooms. The room are a good size and the views are wonderful. There are two very friendly dogs as you would expect on a farm along with the chickens etc. Restaurants in Bracciano are very good and plenty of them to choose from a very pretty town and beautiful castle. The walk down to the largo (lake) is not bad all down hill but remember you need to walk back unless if course you ave a car. Very pleasant down by the lake lots of places to eat or have a relaxing coffee or something stronger even. In all a very very good place to stay and to visit. We will be going back without a doubt .

Review 46:- it was hard to find - there are not suitable signs on the main road and we missed the crossing several times - there were two dogs walking around freely. Though they were very good and friendly, it was uncomfortable.

Review 47:- the hosts were very helpful - they gave us valuable information where to go and what to see. They also prepared us a breakfast for the next morning when we had to leave very early - the place is really beautiful and the facilities are great

Review 48:plain room but ok , a very simple breakfast. Dogs and cats in the house ( could be a problem for someone with allergies). Under construction, not a place to hang out, rather sleep there and nothing else. The closest city is Bracciano witch we found did'nt have much to offer.

Review 49:Go for a car or bikeride to Trevigno Romano by the lake, pretty and plenty of nice cafes and restaurants with terasses overlooking the water. Only one hr from Fiumicino airport.

Review 50:Shower in bath with no curtain and limited headroom.

Review 51:Beautiful location in quiet countryside. Lovely old building (still being renovated and extended). Excellent evening meal "en famille" and friendly welcome by all - including dogs

Review 52:I like staying in here because of the surroundings and hospitality of the owners. It is on a very quiet area and it would be a great choice for the ones who needs relaxing in front of a great scenery of the lake and green fields. Thank you very much. Actually, only thing that needs to be improved is the breakfast. It might be better.

Review 53:Plastic child's party plates to eat a poor selection of breakfast from. Improve this and it would be the perfect place to relax.

Review 54:Location and views. Perfect to relax

Review 55:The room was excellent for the price we paid the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and welcoming. The facilities were excellent and the room was lovely and clean with a small balcony overlooking the countryside. There is a reasonably sized pool which is clean. Breakfast is either served indoors or outside depending on the weather and is has a good variety of choice including scrambled eggs cooked to order. The location is quiet and in the village of Piscarelli but only a short drive from the town of Bracciano, which has a lot to offer. There are also two other beautiful towns nearby on the lakeside which are both worth a visit.

Review 56:They are busy adding rooms / facilities to the existing complex and everything is a bit untidy at the moment.

Review 57:Julia, the daughter can speak some English. We had dinner at the farm which was delicious and more than we could eat. Spumante for the first course and two bottles red wine were included! The rooms and bathrooms were spotless!

Review 58:Breakfast was in the living-room of the owner - I guess some people might like this but we felt a little awckward - especially sice it was difficult to start a conversation since they dont speak good English.

Review 59:The room was clean, quite and spacious. The view is fantastic. The young lady who checked us in recommended a nearby restaurant which was fantastic.

Review 60:The fact that we could only afford the time to stay just one night !!!

Review 61:What a wonderful place to stay! Our hosts were so accomodating when we phoned to say we would be arriving an hour later than planned. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, slept peacefully only to wake up to a beautiful morning which we greeted from our bedroom balcony. If I ever get the chance to be in the Rome area again whether for business or pleasure I will definitely return to La Gismonda.

Review 62:On an authentic farm and it's great--wonderful owners. We had dinnerwith them and that was delicious. We stay here the night we arrived inItaly after our flight from the usa. This is a perfect location asit's about an hour from the Rome Airport and you avoid the chaos ofthe traffic around Rome getting to the airport. We plan to return ournext trip to Italy.

Review 63:Nothing to report but would suggest that a small kettle and some instant coffee/tea bags in each room would be a good addition.

Review 64:The location is fantastic with views of the lake situated amongst olives grove and surrounded by lovely countryside walks.La signora Agnese e famiglia couldn't be more helpful friendly and accomodating. We did not have a car and they kindly picked us up from the station and drove us around. It was my mum's 80th birthday and they provided a delightful dinner with a specially decorated cake.We had a wonderfully relaxing time made very special by their kindness .My italian family is quite fussy about food and standard of accomodation. They were delighted with both .It has been a great success and we definitely plan to return on my next visit home from the UK though my sister is planning to return sooner!

Review 65:Relaxing and good pool

Review 66:To be honest, nothing.

Review 67:Nice and quiet place, wonderful countryside, friendly people, clean and well kept accomodation.

Review 68:Great views, very friendly staff, made to fel really wlcomed. Breakfast a delight especislly as we were given trays and ate outside.

Review 69:Great location beautiful surroundings!

Review 70:Beautiful location close to Rome and the airport. Well equipped and easy to find. It was warm and comfortable and we loved the breakfast.

Review 71:Not easy to find so make sure you have directions!

Review 72:Very clean with plenty of space and friendly owners.

Review 73:Gracious and helpful owners. Great location with beautiful views of Lake Braccciano.

Review 74:Fantastic views of the lake from the balcony. Possible to walk into Bracciano on quiet roads. Friendly and helpful owners.

Review 75:Great location in nice rural area with good rooms and pool.

Review 76:A lovely, homely place to stay, with beautiful views. Breakfast outside was great and the owners were very welcoming.

Review 77:Good hotel

Review 78:The owner is so friendly and helpfull, the rooms are new, big and very nice!

Review 79:Fantastic authentic Italian countryside hotel . Would stay again anytime

Review 80:If you don't have a car, it might be a bit of an adventure to get there.

Review 81:Beautiful room. Great breakfast.

Review 82:Nice place, friendly service, peaceful, near Bracciano. Fine place for bikers` overnighting. Thank You La Gismonda!
