Reviews for Romantik Hotel Monteriggioni
Review 1:Street noise between 11 and 12pm from restaurant next door. Bed was too hard and breakfast was all "show" with poor quality juices and coffee.
Review 2:Attractive entrance hall and garden
Review 3:That we had to leave
Review 4:Fantastic location, run by a very friendly family, great view, amazing garden, private parking, fresh breakfast, everything was truly fantastic
Review 5:An unforgettable place, beautiful views, great rooms and atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience something special. You will not regret it. I would recommend!
Review 6:A beautiful place, the hotel is decorated very tastefully and the garden with the pool is a paradise. The breakfast is exceptional, with freshly baked pastries and an interesting variety. Very charming town also! There was a modem in each room for wifi, a great idea. As soon as I walked in and saw the garden and pool I booked an extra night.
Review 7:Like a lot of the continent , horrid pillows , but comfy bed compensated.
Review 8:Very friendly staff, lovely little pool in idyllic location. Fabulously handy for 4 good restaurants after an days sightseeing, so no need to drive, and most importantly in August , good air conditioning .
Review 9:Loved it.
Review 10:The location could not be bettered. Centred in the small village and taking up a fair portion for the grounds it backs onto the town walls and fronts to the Piazza. The rooms are charming and comfortable. Breakfast in the garden was very nice. Very quiet and carm spot. The design of this converted stables is lovely. We were very pleased to be able to enjoy the pool, small but well kept. May be not suitable for small children.
Review 11:Run and managed by a charming and continuously helpful Tuscan family, the Hotel Monteriggioni offered us an altogether relaxing and peaceful early June break. Meticulously clean, with a very comfortable bed, our room - 124 - enjoyed far-reaching countryside views beyond the thirteenth-century towers made famous by Dante. It was nicely furnished with appropriately rustic antiques while the smart modern bathroom had a pleasing black and white marble floor with a decent, powerful shower. Breakfasts were a lavish selection of biscotti, cakes and fresh pastries, and were eaten outside on the patio where we enjoyed the transporting scent of lavender against a backdrop of ancient olive trees. Just beyond the patio, the pleasingly designed and sited pool is admittedly tiny; but for most days we had it entirely to ourselves and were able to swim while at the same time looking out over the medieval walls and at the picturesque town bell tower: a wholly unique and delightful experience. Monteriggioni itself is similarly diminutive, but likewise perfectly formed, and most evenings we ate at the same - perfectly adequate - osteria. The numerous artisan shops of the village are of almost uniformly good quality (especially good for wine purchases), while for serious foodies the upmarket and attractive ristorante Il Pozzo is on hand in the Piazza Roma for a more formal and substantial dinner. All in all I was very favourably impressed by the hospitality and professionalism of Luigi, Michela and Martina. Always on hand, they made us feel welcome and well looked after without ever being intrusive. (It was particularly kind of Martina to organise a gratis lift on our arrival from nearby Castellina Scalo train station.) Any caveats at all? Perhaps just two: I'd have liked freshly squeezed juice in the mornings; and a better stocked minibar. But in sum this is a superb hotel in an extraordinarily beautiful place - the rural heart of the real Italy.
Review 12:Gave up on the wifi even though there are boosters everywhere. Shower cubicle lets down the otherwise excellent bathroom The mini bar is empty with a note to say we can ask for anything we wish but that's not ideal when you arrive after a long journey.
Review 13:The beautifully converted building. Lovely large room overlooking the square. Excellent staff Breakfast on the lovely terrace The Historic setting within castle walls secure parking
Review 14:- very friendly reception and accommodation by the hotel owners and staff - cosy room - beautifully located within the walls of Monteriggioni. - private parking space for car on location available.

Review 16:Relaxed atmosphere, lovely outside area and pool. Good breakfasts. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Review 17:Only the shower stall does not match the rest of the hotel to be very small.

Review 33:I have known this hotel for some years and, coming back is like coming home. Family run by nice, kind and helpful people. Wonderful location, nice rooms, some with beautiful view. Cosy garden, nice little pool. No restaurant, but a excellent one 50 meters away.
Review 34:Beautiful hotel – beautiful people Location is excellent. Most of cities and attraction are very close, so place is very convenient to explore Tuscany. Unique location of the hotel in the medieval fortress gives even more charm. Rooms are large for European standards, very clean and comfortable. Bathrooms very large and nice designed. Lobby is like living room, nice and cozy. There are plenty of books in the room and lobby , historical and fictional literature. Garden is full of flowers and olive trees, so you can chill there or near the pool. There are few restaurant two steps away, so if you tired after all day strolling around, you will have good dinner Hospitality is one of the best in the region. Michaela, Luigi and Martina do their best to welcome you, pamper you and even entertain you. Michaela makes great cappuccino and you can enjoy nice talk with her. Luigi guided us through enormous number of roads, tell us where to go and recommends the best restaurants in Tuscany. Martina is most charming and responsible young girl we saw these days and has a great sense of humor.
Review 35:I love being in the world city walking around after the tourist left was phenomenal and especially in the morning the breakfast was set out so elegant the croissants or warm it was just an excellent experience being in a wall City I would highly recommend it

Review 40:Located in a stunning hill village this small family managed hotel is a treasure. Every element is of quality. From the gorgeous breakfast buffet to the crisp linens luxury is everywhere. Of all of our Tuscan hotels this was our favorite. It is like stepping back in time into the life of a mid evil walled village. Only minutes from Siena the location is ideal for day trips.
