Reviews for Hotel Royal Caserta

Review 1:I didn't appreciate being asked to sign a blank form on check-in and being told it would be filled in 'later'. I also did not like that the form stated I'd read a privacy document that I was not given. The safety deposit box wanted to skim my credit card before it would work (the first time I've come across this!) The room was nicely furnished but tiny and full of annoying gadgets, especially the electronic lighting.

Review 2:Very close to the railway station and entrance to the fabulous royal palace

Review 3:breakfast was okay, limited fresh fruit.

Review 4:Just across the park from the Royal Palace, which made our visit there very easy. We were upgraded to a superior room when found that our original room was a smoking room. Caserta was a much nicer town than we had expected with very pleasant pedestrian streets, and lots of good restaurants.

Review 5:The food in the restaurant was extremely limited, only 7 things on the menu! The dessert was haphazard, and not very appetising. It's a real shame that the hotel is being let down by the restaurant. The breakfast was reasonably ok though, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to eat there again!

Review 6:It was a nice room and very clean, with a view of the Palace which is close by. The room was also lovely and quiet despite being next to a busy road.

Review 7:I only have one complaint, I could not get a glass of wine before 6 pm. But I got a beer instead.

Review 8:It was conviently located to our needs and a very pleasant staff and comfortable beds and linens. Excellent hotel.

Review 9:If you have much luggage, there is no good way to get it from parking to the lobby, it is all steps. The breakfast was not very good.

Review 10:Excellent location with stunning views.

Review 11:Ideal for train station and also close to the Royal Palace. An "old style" hotel but warm and friendly staff and comfortable room. Quiet and relaxing.

Review 12:Staff hardly speaks English. The breakfast was badic however the bakery was great!!! On the pictures looked more luxury, in fact- the standard hotel

Review 13:The hotel is new, features new entrance and air conditioning systems. Very close to the Royal Palace

Review 14:First impressions of the staff that worked on reception, did not smile, didn't feel welcoming, not sure if it was the language barrier, buta smile makes all the difference. We were only there 1day and my Husbandand myself got attacked over the road from the Hotel, it was notrobbery, I think it was because we were British, they were not Italianthat attacked us. When we ran into the Hotel it was difficult for theMan on reception to understand us to ring the Police, cause of thelanguage barrier. The morning after the attack we were having breakfastand the waiters were talking and looking at us which made us feeluncomfortable. We should of been at the Hotel for 7 nights, managed toget a flight home on day 3, as we didn't feel safe, there were a lotof homeless people sleeping rough and walking round begging. The reasonfor visiting Caserta was to visit my Uncles war grave, unfortunatelythis did not happen.

Review 15:The hotel was modern, light and clean, the room was comfortable.

Review 16:Disappointed with the hotel. Restaurant was drab & dinner menu was really poor. Bedroom tea/coffee making facilities were never replenished. No choice of alcohol in minibar.

Review 17:Location was excellent. Really liked the modern switches in bedrooms for AC/lighting etc

Review 18:Breakfast is average, nothing really special.

Review 19:The hotel changed names recently (all traffic signs indicate Hotel Jolly) and was refurbished completely. The interior is modern, clean and very complete. Staff is very helpful and kind. Location is great, just around the corner of the Royal Palace, the main attraction in Caserta. Good WiFi reception in our room (460). We were upgraded to this superior room. ;)

Review 20:The air conditioning control in our room worked only once. It didn't respond after changing temperature shortly after our arrival. It wasn't a huge deal as we preferred natural breeze from the open windows

Review 21:Facility cleanliness, staff friendliness and location proximity to the Royal Palace of Caserta

Review 22:When i asked for a price for an additional night, it was higher so i had to go to booking dot.com and reserve an additional night. I think the hotel should be more flexible.

Review 23:Proximity to the gardens of caserta. The restaurant food and staff were wonderful

Review 24:Our room had a terrible smell to it, like a dirty home full of cats would smell like. It was gross and made my allergies act up. The shower was cool because they put in fancy fixtures and technology, but did not install proper sealant so water went everywhere and took all towels to soak up. Also, they state they have free parking but don't tell you there's only 8 spots available for free, otherwise it's €7 per night for a lot across the street, which isn't a bank breaker but annoying considering the poor condition of the room.. I would've just gone to another hotel that cost the same as this one with the parking fee. The front desk staff did not speak or understand English well so non of the above topics could be properly voiced or dealt with, which was frustrating. Will never go back or recommend.

Review 25:The location was great pretty good.

Review 26:* Except from visiting the Palace there is nothing to do in the area nor in the city.

Review 27:* The rooms were renovated and the facilities inside them are very modern and convenient. * Very friendly and helpful staff. * The free parking in the closed area across the street is essential in this location. * Good WiFi. * The buffet breakfast is good. * Not very spacious rooms but the junior suite was spacious and nice. * The location near the Palace is convenient if you want to visit there.

Review 28:I thought the hotel looked dowdy and not very clean when I arrived but the stay itself was fine

Review 29:The staff were friendle and helpful - breakfast was great

Review 30:This place felt like luxury. The staff were polite and efficient. The facilities were excellent and the location was great for accessing the Caserta Royal Palace.

Review 31:Gli darei più tre stelle che quattro

Review 32:La camera era molto grande La colazione abbondante Lo staff disponibile Se si desidera andare alla Reggia dista solo due minuti a piedi

Review 33:i used the laundry services which was late by a day, and clothes were still wet when i received them. The management provided the service for free given those inconveniences

Review 34:Good room, good food, good customer service

Review 35:There's nothing else in the area of the hotel, and it didn't feel very welcoming to venture outside at night. The hotel restaurant was pretty limited for dinner. Main bed is two singles pushed together...including to sets of single bedding.

Review 36:Right next door to the royal castle, so made the visit there very easy. Good breakfast buffet. Room was fairly spacious.

Review 37:Overall a pleasant enough stay, but the breakfast buffet was somewhat limited (wouldn't take a lot to enhance) and staff seemed unattentive and were slow to refill the buffet when things run out.

Review 38:New modern feel, ideally located next door to the Reggia di Caserta and close to the main area of town with lots of restaurants. Hotel rooms were very clean and modern. Good value for money in central location.

Review 39:breakfast is not very much rich. Wifi is weak

Review 40:the location is unbeatable. parking is convenient, The family room is really children friendly if you find that the surface of all the walls and furniture is covered by kind of soft foam, which is good for my 1 year old daughter. Supermarket not far ( 5 minutes walk)

Review 41:The staff in reception was very strict and direct. But overall there's nothing to complain about.

Review 42:We stayed in the bigger room, not the basic one. The room is full of gadgets, you can control the TV volume from the hot-tub! One of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever been to. Walking distance to the pubs and restaurants and the palace. Great value for money!

Review 43:The staff at reception had very poor local knowledge abd practically none of them speak a 2nd language...they were generally unable to answer the most basic local questions (in any language!)...i.e restaurants/travel/shop opening times etc

Review 44:The room was clean and comfortable...the bathroom was actually a wetroom (which I liked) but had I been staying longer, I would have liked a bath too

Review 45:Location is excellent Rooms are very clean Comfortable beds for children also Breakfast is buffet with choice and long serving time Area is very good for food Perfect for train journeys can even get a direct train to Rome

Review 46:Only very limited parking

Review 47:Only stayed one night, but was very clean, excellent bathroom and comfy bed. Walking distance to caserta palace and resturants, bars and shops.

Review 48:The desk staff and the dining staff need a little talking to as far as being helpful, every time we went to ask a question at the desk at any time of the day or night it seemed as if we were bothering them. The dining staff in the morning were not at all warm to the guests.

Review 49:The hotel was clean at all times, Room taken care of by very reseptfull ladies.

Review 50:- Very few parking spaces. You have to leave your car at the reception and they move your car whole the time (even if it is not in the way). If the few places are full, you have to park across the street (7 euro in agreement with the Hotel, but they try to rip you off when you leave the parking)- tiny rooms for a 4 star hotel - some kind of domitica. But when you install the temperature on the airco, it resets on its own. I got a cold from a too cold airco at night, although I adjusted it before goiing to sleep. You have to search the numbers of the lights on the system. Just annoying. What's the advantage of this system ? - breakfast: not a very wide selection. If you stay several nights, you eat the same things every morning.

Review 51:+ Close to city centre and palace+ clean

Review 52:Cazerta itself can only be interesting being close to shopping centers as the palace looks quite ruined .Window view on the hotel pictures is far from reality as the windows only face ruined part of the palace already covered with trees. Hotel looks a bit used. Breakfast is decent.

Review 53:There was nothing we didn't like

Review 54:Firstly the Hotel was recommended to us by friends from home and indeed it didn't disappoint. The location to the Palace was excellent. The value was great and to our delight when we checked in, my Husband asked if there was any chance of an upgrade. The very friendly Receptionist duly obliged by giving us a Suite which was so comfortable and really made our Stay extremely enjoyable. There were bikes also freely available from the Hotel Lobby which we availed of to cycle around the gardens of the Palace. All in all it was a wonderful stay, great value for money & the upgrade was the icing on the cake for us!!!! Lucy & Liam, Waterford, Ireland

Review 55:the men that are in charge of the secured parking across from the hotel they try to get an extra 5 euros from me.

Review 56:close to the palazzo reale . the parking was close and secured and was only 7 euros. the check out time was way better than any other hotel I have been 2 o' clock in the afternoon.

Review 57:We arrived back at the hotel late (9pm) needing dinner. Made a booking for 9.30 and told loudly that the restaurant closes at 10pm yet the hours closing is published as 10.30. We hadn't finished our diner at ten so the staff very rudely started to rearrange the restaurant very noisily for breakfast. This was not necessary.

Review 58:On arrival the outside and location was a bit of a concern, but once on entering, the hotel was a really good standard. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful over the 3 days that we stayed. Found the restaurant staff inconsistent most of the time friendly but on occasions were rude. Breakfast choice was adequate but a greater variety of cook food would have been nice.

Review 59:location close to center , excellent breakfast, very friendly staff , room very comfortable with fantastic bathroom and easy parking. Everything you would expect in a top class hotel at an affordable price.

Review 60:Surrounding is not comfortable Hotel has no secured parking have to use other private facilty across the street My rental car insurance do not cover Campania province for theft of car where this hotel is located Apart from the palace not much to see in Caserta The palace is very grand in its day but now very run down. A pity.

Review 61:Value for money Clean Near train station

Review 62:There are limited parking places available on the hotel property.

Review 63:Newly remodeled rooms with air condition. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice.

Review 64:Air conditioning went off and had to ask three times for it to b fixed which was a fuse fixable in the room

Review 65:The rooms were spacious and really comfortable. Across the road from the train station so easy to find staff were courteous

Review 66:The hotel is close to the train station (easy to reach) and in front of the main tourist attraction.

Review 67:Its a little gem

Review 92:The restaurant food is great and changes every day. the restaurant staff are excellent.

Review 93:Ordered flowers and Champagne for room and was not dissapointed. Great staff.

Review 94:No free safe parking

Review 95:Room and courtesy

Review 96:While not a destination hotel, the Hotel Royal Caserta was perfect for visiting the nearby palace rather than staying in hectic downtown Naples.

Review 97:Good value and comfortable

Review 98:Breakfast was just ok, nothing special.

Review 99:Size of room Location to restaurants, palace, etc. Friendly staff

Review 100:Convenient for city centre.

Review 101:Assorted tasty breakfast, good bed, clean room and nice staff! Walked to the palace, easy walk and good directions.

Review 102:The amenities are not equivalent to a four-star hotel. Parking lots are situated on a construction site.

Review 103:Location.

Review 104:Very good hotel near the palace

Review 105:restaurant evening menu was boring and relatively expensive but good restaurants close by

Review 106:location comfort and room had a view of palace

Review 107:no blankets on the bed so I took the "extra-ones" out of the closet but still feeling cold during night...

Review 108:spacious room, excelent shower...

Review 109:There is nothing to dislike, but no charm either

Review 110:The location near the Royal Palace
